I'm sat on my birthing ball as I type and it's definitely helping. It's the best ยฃ24 I've ever spent in my life.

strawberrysummer19 · 07/06/2022 13:12

Just had my consultant call

She went though all my details of previous birth and why Iโ€™m considering a c section and she was so nice and totally understood and really listened to me...
She said I can have a c section If I like but with everything I said
She said how about booking in an induction at 39wks but requesting an early epidural so that if I do have retained placenta Iโ€™m not going to go through the extra pain for that and because induction can bring on labour fast so have gone for that option. She said I can decide today if I want to book a c section but obviously reminded me of the risks. Iโ€™m still wasnt 100% but did go for the induction at 39wksโ€ฆ.but she has given me her secretaryโ€™s number saying itโ€™s still early, if I change my mind I can always call her.
Sheโ€™s calling me tomorrow with a date ๐Ÿ˜ฌx

CaptainCarp · 07/06/2022 15:56

@KizboBaggins I don't start maternity leave until 24th as I've yot a week annual leave before my due date.
Although if baby doesn't start behaving & get head down I've got a c-section on 27th so won't be the leave I envisaged! ๐Ÿ˜‚

@strawberrysummer19 glad you have had a chat with someone who would listen to your concerns alongside pointing out the risks.

JJ1992 · 07/06/2022 17:04

Its so interesting to see what different times everyone is going off work! Im finishing at 36 weeks but really struggling now at 33+5. Also covid is doing the rounds in my workplace which is not only a worry but means less staff so much less support than promised.

Can i ask you ladies a personal question.. I have only just recently started wearing pads for discharge and ive noticed the colour is a yellow white. It always seems clear when i wipe but more yellow on the pad. Im wondering if this is something i should be acting on as when i google its all disaster stories, my midwife always asks when i see her, but not due to see her for another 2 weeks. Have any of you guys experienced this?

strawberrysummer19 · 07/06/2022 18:30

@JJ1992 yes me I've noticed my discharge is a yellow colour
I have had thrush pretty much throughout so not sure it's that but I've definitely had more discharge too

I start my mat leave on 28th June which is actually nearly a month of leave and then may leave on 19th July. I'll be 36 wks when I go off.

I'm tired, uncomfortable and feel like I've no energy but I have a part time job that's not strenuous- I'm actually wondering what I'm going to do with 3 wks before baby
Hate just sitting around! I plan to batch cook but still 3 weeks seems like a long time especially when I have 9 months off - just don't want to get bored
But I'm definitely feeling the exhaustion x

ChinChilly · 07/06/2022 18:56

@JJ1992 funny you mentioned that I've just been to the loo and noticed by discharge is more yellow than normal.. just keep an eye on it I guess

The birthing ball... any time I'm on it more than 20 mins it makes my pelvis feel worse.

I'm finishing next Wednesday and honestly I can't wait I'm taking 2 and a half weeks leave before mat leave starts. I was going to carry the leave over to next year but I actually cannot deal with work for much longer.

Had my 34 week midwife app today, fundal height growth has dropped again so now measuring around the 8th centile so I'm off for a growth scan tomorrow.. I dunno how my bump is measuring small i feel fecking humongous!

JJ1992 · 07/06/2022 19:08

@strawberrysummer19 @ChinChilly i suppose this is that time where everyone says to out our feet up and relax!
Thats such a relief that you guys have noticed it too, i think I'll still mention to the midwife when i see her but wont be rushing to send an embarassing message just now. Nothing else has changed so i don't feel cocnerned right now.

My mind is everywhere but work at the moment its so hard to focus! My team are definitely supportive in a sense that I've been covered for the running about jobs which definitely helps. Saying that, i think sitting at a desk is mentally harder!!

JJ1992 · 07/06/2022 19:10

@ChinChilly will be interesting to see if your baby is small too or if its just the bump! When we had a growth scan bump was under 10th centile and baby was 90th centile ๐Ÿ˜‚ saying that it was only 24 weeks so there wasn't much between 10-90 on the scale

KizboBaggins · 07/06/2022 19:19

@ChinChilly I've had that twice now - bump was measuring way under 3rd centile but both growth scans showed he's around 50th centile. Honestly can't believe this bump is considered small - I feel like a wadding whale...

@JJ1992 I sat at my desk in the office for the first time in over a week today and was just like nah I cannot do this for 18 more days. The quiet days at work are the worst! Much rather be busy... but I also will whinge when I am busy ๐Ÿ˜‚

Has anyone else's baby getting the hiccups regularly? It's every day recently... not sure if it really means much but it sure is a weird sensation!

ChinChilly · 07/06/2022 20:06

@JJ1992 I think its fairly normal, the only other things I've noticed is everything feels abit 'puffy' down there which Dr Google aldo says is normal.. god pregnancy is not glamorous

@JJ1992 @KizboBaggins thanks both, hopefully the scan tomorrow shows a good size baby. I know i feel huge and everyone keeps telling me how small my belly is.. I'm like you try carrying it around or rolling over in bed at night ๐Ÿคฃ I've only noticed the hiccups a handful of times, my dog barked and made baby jump yesterday lol

Getting loads of hiccups here - most mornings and evenings! Our NCT leader this week said hiccups are a sign of strong muscles in newborns, who need a look of touching / donโ€™t like to be put down ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

SamanthaVimes · 07/06/2022 20:36

@AppleTree16 @KizboBaggins I havenโ€™t had any hiccups this time but had lots last time with DD.
Can confirm she hated being put down until she was ready to crawl!

KizboBaggins · 07/06/2022 20:45

@AppleTree16 @SamanthaVimes ah... bugger... ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜‚

CaptainCarp · 07/06/2022 20:49

So good news this afternoon baby is back to being head down! So ๐Ÿคžthey now stay that way as I'm 36 weeks so they shouldn't have too much room to manoeuvre!

I've had hiccups a couple of times I think? Seemed a bit to rhythmic to be kicks so assumed hiccups.

@ChinChilly good luck for your scan tomorrow! Sure it'll be nice for you to see baby again.

Lianna93 · 07/06/2022 20:59

36 weeks today for me - DH & I (or more him) rearranged our bedroom today to make space for baby.
I'm now currently folding & putting away all the tiny baby clothes & have made up boxes for her blankets, muslin cloths & sleeping bags. Finally starting to feel a bit more prepared.
Had my baby shower on Sunday too - so definitely feel like the countdown is on ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

I feel like baby has hiccups multiple times in a day - but I also have hiccups multiple times in a day (always have!) ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ˜‚ Wee soul is taking after me ๐Ÿ˜‚
Literally as I was writing that, her hiccups started again ๐Ÿ˜‚

Regarding discharge - I'm there with you with the yellow tinge but it seems to be if it's been on my pad for a while rather then when it's fresh. But man am I going through so many pads ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ˜‚ Sometimes it feels like I've peed myself with how much I get but when I check, it's definitely discharge ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜‚

CaptainCarp · 07/06/2022 21:43

@Lianna93 have you started picturing baby in the clothing? I've been putting clothes away & it felt a bit surreal to think that in a few weeks there will be an actual baby in the clothes!

Sorry to all who are struggling with their bumps. I've found gentle walks habe helped my hip pain, just have to remember not to go too fast else I struggle after sitting down for a bit.

MollyRover · 07/06/2022 21:58

Ya the discharge is rank Blush. Makes me feel really paranoid about being too close to people and I'm changing my underwear twice a day.

The last 2 days we've been catching up on buying all the bits and pieces we'll need, hopefully they'll be in next week so I can get to the final phases of washing and putting away! Hopefully the time will pass quickly from now on...

DC1 is being particularly adorable at the moment aswell, we've been going through what they are expecting about birth and having a new baby and it's funny to get their take on things. I'm getting way more kisses and cuddles than usual, and they even put my socks on for me yesterday because I honestly couldn't do it ๐Ÿ˜…

Lianna93 · 07/06/2022 22:12

@CaptainCarp I keep holding the clothes to my bump in disbelief that there's an actual human inside me that'll fit all these items ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ˜‚
But I've been proper organised with it - put full outfits together. Paired up vests with sleep suits ๐Ÿ˜‚ Got it all organised into drawers top drawer being newborn then the bottom two being 0-3.
DH & I had a wee argument earlier because I wanted to move all the stuff from one drawer to another & he couldn't understand my reasoning behind it ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ˜‚ Because DH - that's what I need & want to do right now. Told him if he didn't help, I'd do it myself ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ˜‚ He's been actively trying to get me to slow down & relax but it's happening - I'm definitely hitting that nesting stage now that I'm finished with work ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

JJ1992 · 07/06/2022 22:17

What do the hiccups feel like? Are they like little pulses? I think I've noticed them early morning sometimes.

@CaptainCarp good to hear baby has wiggled back to head down! On its best behaviour ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹

My little one is doing big kicks at night these days, the craziest feeling seeing the whole somach move to one side!

laurenGame · 08/06/2022 01:52

@JJ1992 like pulses but slower than a heart beat. So hiccup is a pulse every 3-6 seconds or so.

Mine usually happens when I am tired or a bit agitated.
I relax and they seem to go away after 10 mins Smile

AppleTree16 · 08/06/2022 07:26

KizboBaggins · 07/06/2022 20:45

@AppleTree16 @SamanthaVimes ah... bugger... ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜‚

I know god help us.

Iโ€™ve been having insane movement the last couple of days. For about 4 hours last night the baby wouldnโ€™t stop moving. I was in pain by the end! I had to get on all fours to give them some more space to roll around in.

missv556 · 08/06/2022 09:20

@AppleTree16 my little one was going crazy last night too. I was eating dinner at the time and he was causing me quite a bit of discomfort and was making me feel sick lol

I'm another one with discharge. I had quite a bit over the weekend, my sister assures me that it's normal at this stage, increased blood flow to that area.

And I've also been looking at the baby's clothes and thinking wow in a few weeks someone is gonna actually be wearing them ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’™

JJ1992 · 08/06/2022 09:44

That is such a lovely thought ๐Ÿฅบ

Thats a good idea going on all fours to help with the movements, it can get so tight feeling and that would free up some more space. My partner is getting a bit tired of my shouting 'look at my stomach!' every 2 minutes now ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Definitely the same with the pads... Before pregnancy i naievely tidied all my sanitary products away thinking I wouldnt need them for 9 months..
Also agree with everything being a bit squished down there ๐Ÿ™ˆ I was quite surprised when i last looked! Didnt look like me. Haha.

Danani · 08/06/2022 10:23

Same with the movements! I'm 32 weeks but this and last week she has been soooooo active!!! She also was pushing and prodding right under my boobs for a good portion of the day yesterday and by the evening when I went to bed, that area (I guess it's the ribs?!) felt so sore and achy!

annie1994 · 08/06/2022 10:36

Iโ€™m 37 weeks today and baby is measuring 7lbs 11oz ๐Ÿ˜ณ they thought my DS1 was going to be a 9 pounder from scans but he was only 7lbs 7oz when he was born on his due dateโ€ฆ. Letโ€™s hope theyโ€™re wrong again this time ๐Ÿ˜‚

In other news he is finally head down! Must have moved a couple days ago as suddenly a lot more pressure on bladder etc.

About discharge, Iโ€™m the same, itโ€™s always slightly more yellow on my panty liner - so grim isnโ€™t it ๐Ÿ˜‚
