Thank you!! We are driving down to the south of France/provence for some sunshine I'm excited ๐Ÿ˜ I feel so glad to be done and am looking forward to catching up on all the little jobs when we get back! Glad you bought a birthing ball they're the best - I have a half hour bounce every evening ๐Ÿ˜‚

We were in Provence last week (got the train). It was 30 degrees all week and amazing. Hope you have a good time. Remember lots of water and shade so the preggo hot water bottle doesnโ€™t overheat ๐Ÿ˜‚

@strawberrysummer19 my employer DOES have a payroll department and still can't seem to tell me what my enhanced mat leave pay will be. I know I'm very lucky to have that benefit but the fact they can't seem to work it out at this point is wild. It's impossible to budget at all and my mat leave starts on July 3rd! ๐Ÿ˜‘ Also, it's worth mentioning the bump tenderness to your midwife. Probably just one of the joys of pregnancy though! Like @Lianna93 I've been experiencing trapped wind tightness. Baby has also been really active, so I wonder if that's not helping. Up since 5am with it ๐Ÿ˜ซ

@kiwi17 Hooray for starting your mat leave ๐Ÿ™ŒHope you have a lovely holiday! I couldn't be more jealous! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Had my consultant call. Not happy with how it went tbh. He wants me to repeat the glucose test. He explained what can go wrong with a large baby if its born naturally but still thinks it would be better "on balance" to try. He mentioned shoulder dystocia. I called my sister after as she's a midwife and she explained that my baby could be damaged or even die at birth. Consultant also wants me to have another scan in 2 weeks rather than the scheduled 4 weeks. Just so fed up and upset by it all

strawberrysummer19 · 28/05/2022 12:04

Can anyone tell me what this is for ? Dont remember having one of these for my first?

Anyone had one ?

@strawberrysummer19 that reminds me I need ask payroll those questions, although it took them 3 weeks to reply to my last email so I'll probs be on maternity leave by the time they reply.

@missv556 that does all sounds frustrating, did you want a 'natural' birth or c secton?

@kiwi17 have a fab time!

I had the worlds most uncomfortable sleep, I'm just uncomfortable in general at this point and apparently this 10th centile bump is small i dunno how you 97th centile ladies are coping. I took my car in for a service and the lady that served me went on to tell me how tiny my bump was and started to compare me to the other lady that worked there who is due in September granted she is double the size of me but still it all felt very awkward

missv556 · 28/05/2022 12:36

@ChinChilly I want a section, always have but not actually spoken to anyone about it tbf

ChinChilly · 28/05/2022 12:47

@missv556 If i was you, I would push for a section. If it's what you want and baby is measuring big then it makes sense to me.

annie1994 · 28/05/2022 14:42

@strawberrysummer19 Iโ€™m also under Kent Community and received my letter a couple weeks ago. I havenโ€™t got an actual appointment before I give birth but I think thatโ€™s because DS1 is only 21 months and he is still under the HVโ€™s. When I was pregnant with DS1 the HV just rang to let me know advice on safe sleeping, feeding, tummy time etc. It was mainly them introducing themselves and getting to know you and your circumstances

Lianna93 · 28/05/2022 14:53

@strawberrysummer19 I haven't heard anything about a health visitor taking over yet but from what I've read, in Scotland that doesn't happen until 10 days after birth. I'll need to ask my midwife about it.

I swear my sickness has ramped itself right up again ๐Ÿ˜ญ It never went away but it was so manageable with the cyclizine but yesterday & today I've thrown up immediately after eating something. Cereal seems to be the only thing I can stomach right now ๐Ÿ˜ž

strawberrysummer19 · 28/05/2022 16:53

@missv556 ah sorry to hear that, I'm on the fence about vaginal or c section and to be honest I'm swaying towards a C
My baby is measuring big 97th centile and I'm hoping after my consultation call I'll be offered a c section but I have my growth scan Tuesday so guess would depend on that x

Mattieandmummy · 28/05/2022 19:55

@missv556 having had a large baby with shoulder distocia at birth I would definitely say go for a C-section. I won't go into what happened to my daughter here, DM me if you would like to talk about it, but in my opinion it's absolutely not worth risking it.

strawberrysummer19 · 28/05/2022 20:18

@Mattieandmummy I wouldn't mind getting your opinion on it also if you don't mind messaging me.
I have a 97th centile baby here and has a big head ๐Ÿ˜ฌconsultation to discuss options 8th mine but want to be pre armed x

Mattieandmummy · 29/05/2022 05:48

@strawberrysummer19 sure

missv556 · 29/05/2022 08:31

@strawberrysummer19 I had the health visitor come to mine in person just before I turned 28 weeks. It was just an introduction to their service and she gave me some information on safe sleeping, breastfeeding etc and gave me some vitamins for post birth. The HV was here for no more than 30 minutes

@Mattieandmummy thanks I will DM you

strawberrysummer19 · 29/05/2022 09:04

@missv556 @Lianna93 @annie1994 ah ok sounds pretty standard then thank you and mines over the phone.

So I've only just opened my post from yesterday and I have a scan today! At 530 luckily - letter was only typed on 25th maybe someone should have called!

I actually have my growth scan Tuesday at 32wks but as I went in for reduced movement last week (my panic day) they said I would be went for an 'urgent scan' but didn't think anything more of it as she's moved very single day - so will definitely go in today as we are off and fiancรฉ is here and not able to go with me Tuesday

Plus it's extra reassurance now as I was worried the other day and I can see how she is growing as been told she is on the large side ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Also, just packed my hospital bag! Only my bits - have a small hold-all but got all baby bits out and ready and into sections for when I go on mat leave when I plan to wash it all and pack main bag but I have a little hold-all just incase !

How is everyone doing?

X

Confusion101 · 29/05/2022 11:26

I have a scan this week, haven't had one for 7 weeks! 32 weeks this week so nervous and anxious about it but movement feels fine so hopefully all will go OK!

strawberrysummer19 · 29/05/2022 12:07

@Confusion101 I'm 32 wks Tuesday and haven't had a scan for 4 weeks so feeling a bit similar x

NamelessBaby1 · 29/05/2022 16:23

I'm glad I don't have any growth concerns or anything, but I am a little jealous of those of you getting extra scans! Seems so long between the 20 week one then seeing them in person!!

For anyone who has been pregnant previously, I keep feeling the tip of my stomach (I guess where the top of the uterus is) getting really tight and firm, maybe for like a minute or 2 and every other hour or so, particularly when I've been busy and moving around - is that Braxton Hicks?

I went to the Range yesterday and bought so much paint as I'm planning on attempting a mural for what will eventually be the baby room - never tried anything like it before though so might end up a total disaster haha.

JJ1992 · 29/05/2022 16:55

Have any of you ladies experienced this, first time pregnant here so not sure whats normal and whats not!
Since 24 weeks ive had milk leaking on occasions (usually when lying in bed) now at 32 weeks ive noticed black bits in and around my nipples. I think its old milk? It seems to come away when teased out. Is this something that will resolve when i start pumpin colostrum at 36 weeks? Worried theres old foosty milk there and don't wanna interfere with them too much at this point in case it stimulates more flow!
Feel like im needing to take a bit more care cleaning them ๐Ÿ˜ #learningeveryday

CaptainCarp · 29/05/2022 17:03

@strawberrysummer19 i hope your scan goes well today.

Also @Confusion101 good luck with yours this week.

@NamelessBaby1 I have a bit of a moan about all the scans but I also can't imagine going potentially 20 weeks without one now.

I've just started packing a hospital bag as I'm 35 weeks tomorrow. For baby I've put in:
3 ea. Sleepsuit / "romper" / long sleeve vest / short sleeve vest
1 pk x22 nappies
Nappy cream
3 x socks
3 x scratchmitt
3 x hat
1 x blanket
Changing mat
Water wipes
Cotton wool pads
3 x muslin cloths

Anyone got anything they think I've missed?

I have no idea what they are going to need to be dressed in!

Just about to start on my side.

ChinChilly · 29/05/2022 17:54

@JJ1992 Yes! This happened to me last week, it was like a wierd crust on them! I asked my friend who has 5 babies so she knows more than most and she just said they've leaked and it has just dried on. I have to say I initially thought it was just some sort of wierd pregnancy related dry skin on my nipples until I started messing with it ๐Ÿ™„

strawberrysummer19 · 29/05/2022 18:18

Just had growth scan, all is well and she's still on same track from 28wks scan

4lb9 and head engaged ๐Ÿ˜€xx

Coco9910 · 29/05/2022 18:26

Iโ€™ve started picking up bits for my hospital bag this week at 31 weeks. Is 1 set of pyjamas and 1 set of button down nightie / pyjamas enough for us? I feel like im on top of clothes for baby but not sure on myself ๐Ÿ˜…

Hows everyone been feeling? Iโ€™ve been feeling so run down this past week and exhausted. Iโ€™ve just taken a lateral flow test because I was thinking โ€œHow can I still feel so rubbish stillโ€ but thankfully it was negative! Iโ€™ve not been sleeping very well, been awake since about 4:30 this morning and im just feeling a bit down this week. I really think itโ€™s because im feeling so run down. Seems like the perfect time to book a spa day ๐Ÿ˜… hope everyone is feeling good! I canโ€™t believe it will be June next week and we will be saying our babies are due next month! ๐Ÿฅบ๐Ÿฅฐ

Confusion101 · 29/05/2022 18:35

@Coco9910 I'm the exact same. Took an antigen test today coz I felt so shit but was also negative! I'm so tired and have a cough. Thoughts of work tomorrow.

strawberrysummer19 · 29/05/2022 19:53

@Coco9910 I'm feeling very uncomfortable and lots pressure and pelvic pain. Not sleeping and bladder keeps me up every 2hrs

Feeling anxiety this week but hospital bag is packed so feel better about that
Well mine is but just some baby clothes for hospital to wash and then I'm done
X

I'm planning on 2 sets of pjs and nighties
