Ha I also wondered if the Korean coil was something I should look into @feliznavidad2 - their skincare is pretty good after all...!

Eek @DKDK123 that is certainly a cautionary tale!!

Terrible parent here @paintfairy - met some friends earlier and they all had sun cream and hats for the toddlers, neither even crossed my mind!

Wow that is random @kaylsd and I haven't even said anything to any of the medics that I'm erring towards an ELCS anyway! Yes unmumsy mum is also a good one!

@bez91 saw your snap, all looking lovely! Maybe baby Bez will get ideas having seen baby Minster make an entrance earth side and fancy rocking up?!

@Minster2012 omg! She is her mother’s daughter, no doctor will tell her what to do, she’s lovely!
@larrythelizard i always blame that on the Mediterranean genes, sun is good, vitamin d, right?
@feliznavidad2 i sincerely hope you’re not getting your contraception from Korea via internet dodgy sites

BellatrixK · 30/04/2022 17:23

Awwww! Amazing! Congratulations @Minster2012 , Mr Minster and X! Hope that you’re both doing well. 💕

DKDK123 · 30/04/2022 17:31

Aww congratulations @Minster2012 what a great surprise for you even if she did interrupt your child free day, typical 😂 She was just too excited to meet you guys and knew you'd been waiting a long time for her 🥰

So many happy tears for our beautiful @Minster2012 🌈🥰

paintfairy · 30/04/2022 21:54

@Minster2012 omg! What on earth?! Just thought I'd have a quick browse (day didn't go to plan either and ended up with stitches) and I see this! Can't wait for the update! I hope everything went well. I'm honestly really shocked! 😱

I'll update on my shenanigans tomorrow.

InkyPaper · 30/04/2022 22:13

@Minster2012 OMG!!!!!!!! Congratulations!!! 🎉🎉She's gorgeous!! 🎉🎉 Absolutely amazing news! Hope you're all doing well ❤️❤️

@paintfairy I've usually aimed for the yellow car park whenever I've gone as it's the biggest, but I just got a taxi for the scan. I just started watching Yorkshire Midwives! Yeah that lady did not look her age, but my heart absolutely broke for her when they were talking about the baby they lost. Hang on, stitches?!?! Hope you're OK!

@kaylsd this is true! Trying to think more maternal thoughts and less weight-shaming thoughts 🙈

@bez91 yeah it's a bit annoying to have to pay when it's not really the case for everyone, but nevermind. Your last day sounded very chilled, which is always good 😄

2020mission · 30/04/2022 22:42

@Minster2012 whaaat it's not even May 😮 lovely surprise! Congratulations 🎉 🥰

DKDK123 · 01/05/2022 02:45

Waiting in anticipation of this birth story @Minster2012 😁 And to hear how your first night went with your gorgeous bubs.

@paintfairy you owe us a stitches story too, seems like it was all go alround yesterday 😂

I've found a highlight to my middle of the night unable to sleepness, just grabbed another syringe and filled it up in 10mins there no shower or prep work required, I'm well chuffed that things are working this time round 🥳 Managed to collect some during the day yesterday too and DS was watching with amazement then started shouting 'Oi! Stop stealing all of Emily's milk, you said boobie milk is for her so keep it in there till shes here!' 🤣🤣🤣 So I explained to him that it was still for her it was just incase she was a bit too tired to drink from my boobs when she'd first born which he was satisfied with. He then pipes up 'Can I have a shot of getting the milk out? Remember I was really good at milking the cow, I'd be really good at milking you for Emily!' (Plastic cow on a farm we were at where the kids could pretend to milk the udders and water would come out) Going to change my name to Daisy 🐄🐄🐄 (and no, he definitely wasn't allowed to milk me 😂)

Haiyaa · 01/05/2022 03:24

I’ve not been keeping up AT ALL but something made me check in tonight and I am so happy I did! Congratulations to you and your family @Minster2012 I hope you are all doing well and enjoying those baby snuggles, YOU DID IT! 🌈 😭 (that is happy crying btw!). After all this time and struggle I bet you are so relieved to finally have her in your arms, what a darling little girl.

Lexber · 01/05/2022 05:37

Holy shitballs - I have been offline in general most of the day (so not even on Instagram) so did not expect to come on to try and catch up and see that @Minster2012 !!

Massive congratulations 🎉 💖 how amazing and beautiful - can't wait to hear all about it and what her name is!!

My little monkeys are both wide awake and wanting to chat after the 4.30 feed - both are changed and fed and holding onto wind 🙄 so I'm using to time to catch up online whilst telling them it's still bedtime (can't complain really as Oh did the 12.30 feed as I fell asleep .. and this is the first feed since)
We seem to have gotten as nice little routine now in the night.
We stay up to feed 12.30/1am then they sleep until 4/4.30am feed and back down til about 7.30-8.30am. Thankfully they don't really wake each other up if one cries, and tbh they don't "cry" often. If they do there is always a good reason - usually food!

I am extremely blessed and hopeful that our chilled out nature will keep them both relaxed and calm for months to come... 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Minster2012 · 01/05/2022 06:41

Right morning ladies! I shall update whilst little miss snuggles to me

Firstly @DKDK123 that's so amazing! She's not feeding well so I'm basically hand expressing colostrum for her not ideal

@Lexber they are so gorgeous & you seem to have found really good routine.

So I shall do birth story first. Long one starting with yep you guessed it DTD Friday night around 8pm there was SEA spermo so we thought my waters may broken, but dr Google suggested not but keep team updated. We did, & watch Batman.

I had cramping & back ache so Labour ward told us to go in at about 11pm
They monitored her & all ok & did a speculum & said not waters but there was some tiny blood there and as I left I was feeling some sort of contraction pain that was 1am they said monitor it over night if I couldn’t sleep, if I could sleep that’s the answer was BH.

And I just couldn’t sleep and was counting them at 3.30 by 5.30 they were every 10 mins so told to come back in & monitoring showed Yep contractions every 5 mins from 6.30 til 8.30 ish but hadn’t seen consultant& the midwife said I’d likely be given pain relief & sent home as still under 37 weeks to then be back when things ramped up & have section then x

But then during a contraction I felt POP & stabbing pain & my waters broke at 9.18

Spoke to consultant who was like yep we’ll do c section in about an hour there’s another first

But 35 mins later I was like I FEEL LIKE I NEED TO 💩 & was 7cm dilated with no pain relief (it killed)

So had to make up the plan from there, gas and air me shouting for epidural & cortisol as they hadn’t put that up
& midwife going well I think she might be fully before the team is here

But they got in & said ok new plan if we get into theatre & she’s fully dilated we will suction the baby out not section

I was fully actually fully dilated at 10.45 but she was too far up to suction so back to plan A
Everyone was shouting “so what are we doing then” literally as epidural went in through huge contractions.

So it went very chilled to very frantic in less than an hour 😊

and I did both effectively getting to 7cm on paracetamol then fully dilated on gas and air then actually a section so well knackered!

Baby born 11.32am
30th April
7lb 5.5oz

They got the placenta for testing at Leeds!

She’s got low blood sugars, so had to be done every 2 hours at night, a turned in & bit squished foot from being squished inside they said so we’ll see what they say today & not feeding ideal but we’ll get there 🥰she’s not latching into feed so I’m hand expressing colostrum with help

Minster2012 · 01/05/2022 06:42

Turn onto name etc especially as you are all watching Yorkshire midwives which has relevance

Minster2012 · 01/05/2022 06:49

So it's not letting me add a pic ffs
36+6 gestation (happy 37 weeks today!)
She clearly wanted to not be 3rd on the list 😂🙄

This is Bronte Hope Barrett

We had the name Bronte from when we didn't know with X (it's more common as an Australian name) just diff middle name. As my friend who carried him lived in Liversedge where 2 Bronte sisters were born at home, & all his scans were at the Bronte birth Centre which has featured on the show too! So we said early on ooooo we like that as a name, I like alliteration, & it's a nice tie back to his amazing journey. Now it's a tie for his sister 🥰DH will just say "it's from Xander being carried there & we just liked the name" which is basically right

Hope as we all know that's what's been getting me through since 2020 & I still carry the Hope pebble
Weirdly though it is also the name of a child in the pregnancy after loss book so it's been everywhere even though we have had it in our minds since 2018 🥰

She's the spitting image of Xander ☺️

paintfairy · 01/05/2022 08:17

No time for proper update yet- busy day. But wanted to check in for baby update!

@Minster2012 I spent all night awake and all I could think was- you are not at the top on my list and it's not your turn! 🤣 DTD can bring it on in late stages- something to do with prostaglandins in sperm? Anyway, wtf. Sounds like they definitely weren't prepared and I can't believe they were going to just seems you home! Jesus. Yeah you aren't 37 weeks, bugger off. Erm? 🤔🤣 She's a good size though so that's something! And I love her hair! ❤ I was also dying to know what you had called her. 🥰 Don't tell me it hurts though, la, la, la. Why were you originally having a section? Because of your other medical issues? I can't believe it. Clearly didn't want to be a may baby after all! 😁 Congratulations! Enjoy your day with her and I'll check in later. (Off car shopping again).

becarefuloutthere · 01/05/2022 08:18

@Minster2012 congratulations 🥳 so so happy for you, well done! And guess what...you know my sister was due day after you, well she also had her baby yesterday! Her waters broke Friday night so she had her via section around 130pm.
I love the name Brontë, and what a great story behind it too! Hope you're both well, sending lots of love and healing vibes xx

Vil10 · 01/05/2022 08:20

Finally!!!! I managed to get into MN on Monday for the first time in like 8 days, I wrote out a reply then copy and pasted it into my notes so I didn't lose it, then MN ended up down again for me, tried updating the app, deleting the app, re downloading it, resetting my password, everything and nothing worked!! Until now! So I'll post my reply from Monday, lots has probably changed since then, like bloody @Minster2012 giving birth to a beautiful baby girl with a gorgeous name!! Not surprised you're knackered but you did it and she's here!! So so happy for you all, you deserve this so much🌈💗💗💗

@kaylsd yayy for viability day and to almost being able to paint!!

@larrythelizard glad you had a lovely weekend away!!

@Lexber so glad you're all doing well, they really are beautiful, you did amazing!! And bonus points for OH for breakfast in bed!!

@paintfairy woooo for hitting the third trimester!! Time is going crazy fast!! I also need to order some big knickers, nighties and a thin dressing gown!!

@DKDK123 even with some unexpected news it isn't all bad at all and like you said at least they have a plan in place which I bet makes you feel so much more at ease and confident! Keeping my fingers crossed you can be awake for it!! Your mindset is brilliant lady!

@blackcurrantqueen heyyy! Also love seeing your posts of your girls on insta!!

So not much news from me, other than our solicitor is driving me INSANE!!! Last week he said we'd be getting the keys between 27th-29th, he just needed to give the lender a weeks notice, then took TWO days to make a simple phone call to the vendors solicitor, which has obviously set us back because we still haven't got completion date to tell the lenders to then get the weeks notice!! We were really hoping to be in before we go away on the 6th but that's looking less likely😫 on the positive lots of baby things have been arriving this last week or so and I've been buying little bits for the nursery, I just want to get in the house now just so everything at least has a place!! I have a midwife app on the 4th just as a last minute check up to get my fit to fly letter, then I'll have my 28/29 week appointment on the 19th then lasagne scan booked in for the 20th, I can't wait to see who's features baby has (although the 16 week one they sprung on us when we went for a private scan scared me a little😂🙄) does anyone else get overwhelming worry some days that something will be wrong with baby or something is going to go wrong during labour? I just keep thinking it's too good to be true and thinking something will be wrong with baby either picked up at lasagne scan or at birth, but then I snap out of it and think no I'm excited to give birth and finally meet my perfect baby, god what a rollercoaster this is!!!

becarefuloutthere · 01/05/2022 08:23

@Lexber your twins are so lush! Glad to hear all is going well! Good going on the feeding 👍🏾

becarefuloutthere · 01/05/2022 08:26

@Minster2012 I've just scrolled bk for the pic, how cute is Brontë!! ❤️🥺

Vil10 · 01/05/2022 08:29

On the vasectomy front, I've always wanted 4 children, I only have 1 sibling myself but my dads 1 of 4, mums 1 of 3, and growing up we always had a full house whether it be full of family or mine and my sisters friends and I just LOVE a loud and busy house, it makes me feel at home, don't get me wrong a quiet afternoon is perfect but there's something about craziness in a house that I love🙈 OH only has a half sister who he doesn't really see, and is his mums only child so he only ever wanted 1 child but before TTC we compromised on having 2 possibly 3, but obviously TTC took a lot longer than planned and OH said he doesn't want to be the old dad compared to his friends, he isn't old at all he's 32 in June, I just think he compares his age to mine😂 but I've also said I won't ever go back on contraception, and OH knows that and completely agrees knowing what I can do to us poor women! So hopefully TTC for no.2 when this little one is about 2, then we'll see what happens!! However if it wasn't to happen again I'd just feel so blessed and grateful that we managed to get pregnant with this little one!!
