Right morning ladies! I shall update whilst little miss snuggles to me
Firstly @DKDK123 that's so amazing! She's not feeding well so I'm basically hand expressing colostrum for her not ideal
@Lexber they are so gorgeous & you seem to have found really good routine.
So I shall do birth story first. Long one starting with yep you guessed it DTD Friday night around 8pm there was SEA spermo so we thought my waters may broken, but dr Google suggested not but keep team updated. We did, & watch Batman.
I had cramping & back ache so Labour ward told us to go in at about 11pm
They monitored her & all ok & did a speculum & said not waters but there was some tiny blood there and as I left I was feeling some sort of contraction pain that was 1am they said monitor it over night if I couldn’t sleep, if I could sleep that’s the answer was BH.
And I just couldn’t sleep and was counting them at 3.30 by 5.30 they were every 10 mins so told to come back in & monitoring showed Yep contractions every 5 mins from 6.30 til 8.30 ish but hadn’t seen consultant& the midwife said I’d likely be given pain relief & sent home as still under 37 weeks to then be back when things ramped up & have section then x
But then during a contraction I felt POP & stabbing pain & my waters broke at 9.18
Spoke to consultant who was like yep we’ll do c section in about an hour there’s another first
But 35 mins later I was like I FEEL LIKE I NEED TO 💩 & was 7cm dilated with no pain relief (it killed)
So had to make up the plan from there, gas and air me shouting for epidural & cortisol as they hadn’t put that up
& midwife going well I think she might be fully before the team is here
But they got in & said ok new plan if we get into theatre & she’s fully dilated we will suction the baby out not section
I was fully actually fully dilated at 10.45 but she was too far up to suction so back to plan A
Everyone was shouting “so what are we doing then” literally as epidural went in through huge contractions.
So it went very chilled to very frantic in less than an hour 😊
and I did both effectively getting to 7cm on paracetamol then fully dilated on gas and air then actually a section so well knackered!
Baby born 11.32am
30th April
7lb 5.5oz
They got the placenta for testing at Leeds!
She’s got low blood sugars, so had to be done every 2 hours at night, a turned in & bit squished foot from being squished inside they said so we’ll see what they say today & not feeding ideal but we’ll get there 🥰she’s not latching into feed so I’m hand expressing colostrum with help
