@bez91 ill tell dh in the morning, of course he’s sleeping through the whole malarkey, men!

larrythelizard · 06/06/2022 07:38

Trapped wind is one of the worst pains @Vil10 - I find mint tea and some yoga stretches I found on google help, but once it's stuck it's soo painful!

Hope the wedding was good @InkyPaper - I love a wedding!

Whoop well done for booking Devon @paintfairy is that this week?

I didn't feel any movements until 20ish weeks then first time @BellatrixK. Oh no for being stuck!! Presumably they have to put you up and feed you and everything? Stressful though. Probably should take my work phone on holiday just in case something like that happens!

That is mad that they expect you to take a baby to the EPU @bez91 how insensitive! I'm sure your story would be hope for ladies struggling but as if you'd go in and start preaching to them!

Haha @bez91 it is mad how they don't hear anything!!

Lovely gesture @DKDK123 - must be so hard for her. Sorry to hear you're struggling with DD, hopefully they can decide which is it is soon and that will help.

Poor little bubs @Lexber she really is making you guys through the ringer isn't she? Hopefully new meds will make a difference. Such a gorgeous bond between them that he missed her!

It's Monday now @Franklydear hope you're planning that phone call!

@Minster2012 your jubilee shenanigans look great on insta!

I was having a lovely weekend, went to the gym on Friday, had a natter afterwards then went to pick up the groceries, all fine! Was in the shower and home and BOOM realised I couldn't see out of my right eye. Had a MW appt on Sat anyway so DH took me (no way I could have driven) so all fine on that front and no concerns re pre-eclampsia. My suspicion is that it's hormone related as Thurs/Fri I was back in the 'am I going to be sick or am I hungry' world and my sense of smell has got crazy again. Hoping the dr can prescribe something better to treat them as paracetamol is usefulness!

larrythelizard · 06/06/2022 07:43

Should say useless of course, still not back to normal although can now function again!

OP posts:
Vil10 · 06/06/2022 11:12

@paintfairy it's 200mg I think, I'll attach a pic of the box of tablets I got! That's so frustrating on not have your prescription for it, I had my bloods done on the Thursday and by 9am Friday morning I had a text to say an iron prescription was waiting for me! I remember you saying about your hips a while ago, are they still no better?? Completely agree, you know full well what makes the aches and pains worse but sometimes you just have to suck it up because things need doing, that's how I feel all the time!! It's so so weird I'm trying to avoid her completely now because it's too awkward for me!! It really is sickening all the money we have to spend on house things isn't it, and when you think you're done with all the big things, all the little things add up like paint etc, it's never ending!!
Devon will be lovely!! When do you?

@BellatrixK we did all the glossing and re decorating during lockdown in our old house and it really wasn't too bad, I just keep thinking as long as the nursery is done the rest can wait, and it doesn't look like we'll be getting any nice weather so I won't hate being inside painting😂 funny you say that because originally I was going to get some of that frenchic paint and do the wardrobes myself too but this is when I thought we'd be in the house way before I was 32 weeks😂 so I'm glad I booked the sprayer! Have you done before and after pics of yours??

@bez91 definitely not, at first when I thought we'd be in the house sooner I was stressing over things not being done but now our priority is literally the nursery and that's it, everything else can wait, bar a bit of painting here and there! That's what I'm hoping it'll feel like a rewarding job, I'm not so much a diyer but I really want to get stuck into the nursery!! The meal with FIL was last night and was actually really lovely, was a 5 course meal at a 2 Michelin star restaurant, way way posher and fancier than anywhere I go to, I'm happy with pie and chunky chips😂 but it was lovely nonetheless!! How strange EPU is in the same place and they expect you to take your baby??

@DKDK123 lovely of you to get your neighbour something!! It must've been so hard for you coming to see you but it'll be nice for her knowing you understand!! Sorry DD is doing too good, I hope they get to the bottom of what's irritating her soon🤞🏼

@Lexber ohh bless her, sounds like she's having a bad time of it!! Hopefully the new meds will help her!! Their little bond, how adorable🥺

@larrythelizard I'll definitely try yoga, I've been doing pregnancy yoga classes and loving them so far! Peppermint tea used to help me before I was pregnant but I've had to stop drinking it because it made my acid reflux worse😩 oh god that sounds awful about your eye, think I'd have shit myself!! Glad they have no pre eclampsia concerns, that's a relief! Are they giving you anything for it? That can't keep happening!!

So had an awful sleep last night kept being woken up with horrendous acid reflux and I was so so bloated and uncomfortable with this trapped wind then I was worrying I hadn't felt baby properly, it just wasn't a good night, but reflux has settled, trapped wind is better, and baby is moving normally and I'm finally starting to get excited over the move in a few days!! I'm off out for one of my best friends birthday on Saturday afternoon though and I kinda wish I had the day at home to sort stuff but I am off Thursday and Friday afternoon and we're hoping to get most stuff in by Thursday for actual move in Friday so hopefully I'll have enough time those 2 days and then Sunday to empty essential boxes!
Also not sure if anyones seen the little people big dreams books? They're basically big role models and their story to fame/their career but in childrens books form! I saw them ages ago in selfridges (cheaper on Amazon) and thought they were so good for when children get to around 3ish, so thought no point in buying them yet even though they look such nice quality books, anyway my mum surprised me with a book delivery the other day and had got me 3 of those books and some other classic books, I cried🤦🏽‍♀️😂
Just been to pick up a tub of vitamins from the children's centre, realised there's 56 tablets in a tub which takes me up to exactly my due date, how bloody scary!!

Vil10 · 06/06/2022 11:13

@Franklydear hope you're making that phone call today!!

Juno231 · 06/06/2022 11:20

@larrythelizardI saw your whatsapp messages on insta and honestly that looks terrifying. Have they scanned you at all in case it's something more serious than a migraine?

@DKDK123 what a beautiful gift for your neighbour, you are SO thoughtful! I would totally put my foot in it trying to manoeuvre through something that socially difficult.

@bez91 ah I love that you are considerate of the other ladies in EPU but a bit shocked that the hospital have such a crap set up that puts you in that position!

@vil10 you look gorgeous - I think you're being too harsh on yourself cause you started off with perfection😂. Much like paintfairy I actually am the happiest I've been with my body in like a decade - but that's because I was always thinking about how I had weight to loose and trying to remember to suck my stomach in whereas I have no such worries right now lol.

@lexber update on E please! sounds like you've had a right stressful jubilee with poorly baby girl - I really hope she's doing better now.

@BellatrixK are you still stranded?? I hope you'll get reimbursed for any extra costs...

Who said they have a B shaped bump? Totally normal and lovely - maybe check out lottiedrynan on insta as she's got one too and has been writing about initially feeling self conscious about it xx

Had a glorious jubilee weekend but am knackered as a result. Build is still full steam ahead (we've had another email from the neighbours though...) and work is still busy. Went to a jubilee garden party on Friday where one of the ladies there had her baby last year at 37 weeks and had to stay in for a week with baby due to group b strep - it's made me very aware that 37 weeks is next month already I think!

Minster2012 · 06/06/2022 11:30

Sorry been absent, just so busy at the weekend! Elvis impersonator yesterday at local event was amazing!!

@Vil10 we love those books! I got our friends son a set for his birthday though & his dad was like why does he want to read about Muhammad Ali? Completely missing the point 😝🤦🏼‍♀️can't believe it's moving this week whoop whoop!!

@DKDK123 that must have been hard for u both but you are so sweet & im sure she appreciates it

@larrythelizard your migraines are super scary. There must be something you can get for it

@Franklydear have you not realised we have no answers 🙈

@bez91 another sleep through anything DH here

@Lexber big hugs to you & poor Elsie. The bond between them is so gorgeous. And your cats make me laugh so much!

So we are trying to dodge a sickness bug a SIL seemed to have at a bbq on sat, she was being sick & then her eldest started piling in the middle of the kitchen. So far one adult friend & one of his kids is puking, and another 2 kids of other friends who were there. So far we seem ok tho X joined DH at 5am saying he had a tummy ache but seems ok today

Also our new shower pump we put in last Monday blew 2 fuses yesterday. So that's busy again.

WHY IS NOTHING EVER EASY??

Minster2012 · 06/06/2022 11:34

@Juno231 so pleased you feel so good!! Oooo btw just had report through saying we have no bats!! So we might get planning permission at some point! Yeah I had B at 37 weeks of course but no strep B thankfully

DKDK123 · 06/06/2022 13:25

@Lexber poor little E and how worrying it must have been for you having her in the hospital, I hope the new tablets and milk are helping her. It is cute that her brother missed her tho, I hope they always have such a close bond growing up 🥰

@larrythelizard I would be proper freaking out if my vision just went! Glad to hear it's not pre-e at least but I'd be wanting more answers than it's just a migraine! Hope you're feeling better today!

@Vil10 definitely get the gp to prescribe you omeprazole for the heartburn, it's a lifesaver in pregnancy! That's sweet of your mum with the books 🥰

@Minster2012 hope you've skipped the sickness bug 🤞 You're having no luck with that shower 🙈

Hope you're all adding this to your baby lists, it looks like an essential buy 🤣🤣🤣and yes its an actual thing for a whopping £40 off jojo maman 😂

Minster2012 · 06/06/2022 14:33

@DKDK123 I just spat my coffee out at that!! Wtf!!!

Soph0105 · 06/06/2022 16:12

Ahahahaha @DKDK123 I shall be purchasing one each for me and for H.

Meanwhile PTSD has decided that at not quite 8 months he is too big to be given a bottle any more and he's going to do it himself. Cue massive battle of wills which I eventually lost. Now wiping milk stains off the carpet. Massive regrets as I literally decided this week to completely stop BFing. FFS! Can't wait for tonight's bottle...!

Minster2012 · 06/06/2022 17:29

@Soph0105 tonight's bottle is DHs though I heard 🤔

Bloody hell so other SIL now succumbed to sickness bug from sat. She got sent home from her on calls for throwing up in resus 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

larrythelizard · 06/06/2022 17:31

I've seen those books @Vil10 they're really cute! Bloody acid reflux, honestly the omerzaprole is actually life changing, I would recommend a chat with the dr.

I've had a couple of friends who've delivered babies at 37weeks or earlier in the past couple of months @Juno231 which is a bit terrifying although I'd take it, baby is looking big already!

It was @InkyPaper and me discussing B shaped bumps @Juno231 and lottiedrynan is definitely worth a follow.

Massive 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 you avoid the sickness bug @Minster2012! Wah on the shower pumps, what a palaver, at least it's not winter.

Haha wtaf @DKDK123! Loved the insta of DD in her swingy chair.

Mine has always had issues with believing he's a baby @Soph0105 so I feel your pain! You can buy handles for bottles which make it much easier for them to hold which may be worth a look if he's going to continue!

I'm fairly sure my migraines are 'just' Hemiplegic migraines based on last year's incident - I had an MRI and a CAT scan then. Got a call with a Dr on Monday but not holding out much hope for anything revolutionary as they're really rare. I am just desperately hoping they'll give me a treatment option that is more than paracetamol. Read up on possible vitamins that might help earlier but not sure what I can take in pregnancy and will wait until I've spoken to the dr.

Meanwhile DS is pretty much heartbroken as his little cousin has gone. 💔💔💔

OP posts:
InkyPaper · 06/06/2022 17:48

Hello everyone! It is officially one week until my next scan where hopefully the baby will be in the right position so they can tell us the gender 🤞🏻 also should get my Matb1 certificate then, right?

@paintfairy 🤣 yeah, we're mad - it was so much fun though! Super cathartic smashing a sledgehammer into steel too. The muscle pain was something else though and I definitely overdid it... DH loved it but his hands were wrecked afterwards 🤣 I'd definitely recommend the blacksmithing experience though! Sucks about your joints - could the physio help? There's a self-referral number to call for them in our books - it's on the same page as the midwife numbers, I think

@Vil10 oh god what is it with people groping bumps?! I had a couple of people do that at the wedding I went to and it felt horrible 😂 my mum is insisting I have a bump now and DH said I looked like I had one this morning, but I think I still just look fat 🤣 the acid reflux sounds horrible - I know you don't like taking meds but it could really help take the edge off 🤗

@BellatrixK nooooo!! Have you been able to grab another flight home?? I think with the flutters, that's it. Someone told me it felt like gas.

@bez91 thanks! Traffic wasn't too bad on the way out but it was heaving on Sunday - I guess everyone was heading home! Oh dear, not helpful on DH sleeping through!

@DKDK123 aww your poor neighbour, that's a lovely gift idea for her ❤️

@Lexber big hugs! Sounds like E is really going through the wars at the minute 😔

@Franklydear were you able to get through to the nurse/doctor to ask about the spotting?

@larrythelizard the wedding was...not the best unfortunately, but nevermind!🙈 Omg you can't see out of one eye?!?! Surely the doctors should be taking the loss of sight more seriously?!

@Juno231 your neighbours are nuts. Yeah it was me and @larrythelizard talking about the bumps - I'll check out the lady you suggested, I need to start embracing what I have instead of wishing I looked different!

@Minster2012 omg keeping everything crossed you avoid the sick bug!!! 🤞🏻 I hate everything involved with vomit, god knows what I'm gonna be like with my own kid 🙈 your bloody shower!!

kaylsd · 06/06/2022 17:49

blows off cobwebs of kaylsd Mumsnet account

Hellloooooooo beautiful little lot 🥰🥰🥰 well that was an exciting battle to get my account restored after multiple email exchanges having to prove my identity and change every single password going as Mumsnet banned me for spamming apparently and turns out that my Mumsnet account got hacked and was posted spam url links on threads and that’s why I got silenced 🫣 although I never click on anything like that but hey Ho, click here if you want to win 750 worth of shein vouchers www.beingbannedsuckswilly.com but I am back and it’s lovely to see you all although I’ve been able to read threads and lurk round the corners like joe from you! Let me see if I can do a little catch up as I know I’ve missed a huge amount 🙈

@dkdk123 what a beautiful gesture from your neighbour she must have been so strong to do what she did for you but you are too kind to also pay the same back for her 🥺❤️ I’m sure she will love the sentimental value! I absolutely howled at that toy for baby changing, wonder if the end twirls round like a mobile? 😏🤣🤣
@bellatrixK I hope you’ve managed to get home okay? So many of my friends have had holiday disruptions from cancellations when attending weddings to luggage lost to over 3 days delays to get home :( sending hugs xxx
@bez91 I just think it’s a man thing? Deffo selective hearing both throughout the day and at night time, maybe if we invest in a fog horn they may wake up then to help out 🧐?
@lexber oh gosh hunny that must have been so worrying with your little one giving you a fright like that hopefully with a change of milk they will be bouncing back before no doubt into the little bundle of cuteness they are 🥹❤️
@franklydear I hope you made that phonecall appointment to have a look into what’s going off with your body being a fuck boy not knowing where you stand with things!

@vil10 I’m so glad your house has finally gone through sweetheart! It means you guys can start cracking on the best you can making the house into a home, don’t over do it though as house moving is so stressful as you will find out but it’s the final piece of the puzzle before your little one is here, how exciting is that for you guys that you can now consider putting bits all together what’s been stored / saved at your mums! Sorry to hear you’ve been having rough nights feeling uncomfortable, trapped wind is literally the devil 🥸 just be careful with the iron tablets too your on, can make you constipated / turn your poo black 🫠
@minster2012 I hope you’ve had a lovely jubilee weekend darling and god damn the lurge running through everyone like wildfire I hope it avoids your house swiftly!

So ladies nothing to really update for me, 30 weeks now 🙈 I’ve been starting to feel abit of sciatica pain well I say that.. it just feels like I’ve constantly got pains in my arse what I can imagine post anal sex would feel like 🤣🤣🤣 (before you think im prude to it tried the tip once felt like the moment when you stand on a cats tail and screamed - was not for me) things are feeling a little bit heavy also to point my upper thighs feel abit tighter ALTHOUGH I did not do myself any favours last week as we had that many birthday occasions / jubilee celebrations I swear half my bump is just a massive food baby 🤣🥺🙈 I’ve been on non patient facing at work which I find different! It’s just summed it up for me how much I miss my patients 🥹 but I finish for maternity next Friday as I have 2 month annual leave to take ✨✨✨✨ so I guess that’s when the nesting starts? When I vision nesting I can imagine myself sat in mables dog bed like it’s a bird nest 🙈 on a serious note I’m so sad but excited to clean out my kitchen cupboards and draws because I think we’ve got about 4 shit draws full of takeaway menus old statements random screw drivers and half eaten packets of mints (all the stuff you just chuck in at once) in terms of our house renovations we are nearly done! Just need to sand down once again our new oak stair case and apply another coat of osmo oil then we are just waiting for carpets and then we can start moving furniture where it should be and consider starting to piece together a nursery! 🥹 also I've hit the stage of where I can't see anything shaving and had a panic moment the other day, I shaved and went for a wee after shower n wiped and saw blood.. DH came running upstairs I goes your gonna have to look cause I can't see anything down there anymore, turns out massive gash in my flap from the razor 🙃 the joys

Sorry for the massive essay catch up, it’s been a while ladies 🤭 but rest assured I’ve been backing you all when I can when I see bits on insta, the baby crew on there right now from you all makes my little bubs jiggle as everyone’s little one are absolutely gorgeous 😍

kaylsd · 06/06/2022 17:53

My vibes right now without the little sausage poking out ✨✨

Minster's 8th Side Car - Best not let the men see our post-partum bodies eh?!
Franklydear · 06/06/2022 19:07

Ok, ok, busy work day I couldn’t get through , try again tomorrow
@Minster2012 i can hope, you are mums now, you need to know everythiiiing
hope you avoid the bug, ewwww
so spotting stopped, but today I had projectile vomiting out of the blue, so had to clean the bathroom before going out in the morning, nice on my long day, and since I feel iffy but just not hungry, boobs starting to hurt, so I really need those answers

Soph0105 · 06/06/2022 20:02

Yay welcome back @kaylsd 🥳 you naughty wee spammer you! Do be careful now you're shaving blind... I thought I'd done it enough times before, I'd be able to do it blind... ended up having to shave the entire lot off because I'd fucked it up so badly. Mortifying. And then the itch when it all grew back in 😂😂😂 ended up buying a mini electric trimmer thing in the end!

larrythelizard · 06/06/2022 20:25

Haha and back with a bang @kaylsd!! I think they call it javelin arse? How nice to get a couple of months off, I think I can carry a month until afterwards but the policy documents are all as clear as mud and have been waiting to change managers to ask for details of someone in HR!

Whoop that's come round quick @InkyPaper! Mat1b is 26 weeks round my neck of the woods but no idea if that's the same everywhere?

I can see again now @InkyPaper and this evening feel quite normal.

OP posts:
InkyPaper · 06/06/2022 21:51

Haha welcome back @kaylsd ! Omg that does not sound good, no more razors down in delicate areas 😂

@Franklydear shame you didn't have chance to get through to the nurse today. Projectile vomming doesn't sound good either, are you feeling better now?

@larrythelizard oh good! Glad that you can see again - sounded a bit scary. Bloody migraines!! Ooh 26 weeks sounds super late to get it 🤔 I thought it was much earlier considering its got to be shared with work? Or at least my work is asking for it no later than week 25. Oh well, I'll see what happens at the hospital when I go for the scan 😄

Minster2012 · 07/06/2022 02:27

When you are in a lovely deep sleep & there's a baby crying in your dream & you think "oh that's annoying someone better get that"...oh wait 😂🙈

kaylsd · 07/06/2022 06:10

@soph0105 I think a electric trimmer sounds the safer option otherwise it might start to look like something off Edward scissorhands pre labour 🤣🙃 there’s nothing worse than the itch growing back! Hope your alright lovely lady!
@larrythelizard I’ve never heard of that before I’ve heard of lightning crotch, I presume it’s because it feels like what I could imagine someone shoving a javelin stick up one’s bottom? Hahahah, it’s annoying having to wait for clarification off the management is there anyone in HR you could poke to get some information out of?
@inkypaper I got my mat1b form at my 24 week appointment but I know it varies from area to area, if only everywhere had the same standard but that’s too easy thinking 👀
@Minster2012 that would be so me, awww that poor baby in my dream actually shit I best move 🤣🤣🤣

bez91 · 07/06/2022 07:32

@DKDK123 how did you get on with the GP for Emily? That's really brave of your neighbour and so so lovely of you to get her something and good you've had that conversation 💕

Another unsettled baby @Lexber glad all sorted and a plan in place hopefully E improves quickly!

@Franklydear it’s a talent they have sleeping through the chaos! I genuinely think they can’t help it they just don’t have the tuning like

@kaylsd yesss - razor roulette? Sending solidarity, dangerous game that! One of my favourite things post pregnancy has definitely being able to see my vagina again 😂 hope your flap has now recovered! Your bottom 🍆 one time experience sounds exactly the same as mine 🤣

@larrythelizard definitely push the out your GP Monday? Even if 'just hormonal' or your previous issues you shouldn't have to put up with it! The migraines I'm having I'm pretty sure are hormonal but not to that extreme and I'm blaming it on an air freshener that DH has bought, seem to be really sensitive to smell

@InkyPaper not the best wedding? Oh dear my experience of bad wedding generally revolve around not enough food for everyone 😂 especially when pregnant!

@Vil10 yesss northern lass pie and chips 😂 💪🏼 sounds a hectic weekend coming up! You'll get there but take it easy! It makes it easier when staying with family too as no rush

@Juno231 it's a super crap set up. The 'womens health unit' basically covers anything gynaecology related including early pregnancy up to 12 weeks. All other pregnancy bits are another department downstairs which I get but you'd have thought EPU would be a separate bit all together. You're definitely not far away 😬 when are you planning on finishing for Mat leave?

@BellatrixK missed that you were stranded! What a pain especially when you NEED to get back! Hope you got sorted!

Finally shared a bed with DH last night after 4 weeks of him being in the spare room dealing with DD which was nice 😆 DD only getting up a few times a night now so big improvement. He can deal with some nighttime baby wakings this weekend 🥳

Minster2012 · 07/06/2022 07:54

Arghhhhhhhhh sickness has got us 🤮🤢let's hope B can avoid but seeing as X kisses her each night I doubt it

Welcome back troublemaker @kaylsd

Juno231 · 07/06/2022 08:20

@Minster2012 nooooo - and no shower to boot! What a crap time! Are all of you bar B affected already? And yeah omg you're another one that gave birth early - how quickly I forgot. My August group on reddit has had 5 or 6 birth announcements already which is mad.

@larrythelizard javelin arse, I'm dying 😂- gonna look up your fancy migraine name now

@Soph0105 how is that a real product that passed approval by presumable several people?!

@kaylsd lol you spammer you! Not gonna lie, "a massive gash in my flap" sounds like minster bus title territory - made me choke on my tea!

Ladies I'm in such a foul mood today 😭- turns out our neighbours had a trick up their sleeve! Apparently our party wall agreement expired just before the build (due to all the delays with our engineer this spring) so now they're demanding we stop and get a party wall surveyor of their choice in (I'm pretty sure it's a friend of theirs!). God knows where this will end up and how long the delays will take?? and how much money we'll lose in the meantime... I don't get what their problem is - everything has planning permission (which they did not contest!), has gone through building control, an architect and an engineer - what do they think we're gonna do to their house??
