Come on baby @whatwonder, time to come out now! No advice here, DS was 12 days late! I genuinely think what got him going was the threat of an induction booked!

Joiner stuff sounds very stressful @paintfairy! Go steady with weed killing today!

You have a newborn and a toddler @Minster2012 so nothing is expected of you brain wise, plenty of time for that to come back!

The windows open?! Wow she really is a whinger for no reason @Juno231!

That's madness @bez91 but I guess gives you the option of leaving Z in nursery for a day and having a day with DD. I bit the bullet and emailed the nursery where DS went as a baby yesterday as we finally actually worked out mat and pat leave dates!

Nice one @Franklydear I don't mind swimming when I'm doing it but it's the getting changed that annoys me. There's an open air (heated one) where I live so looking forward to a bit of splashing around in there when I get around to it!

That sounds positive @paintfairy - the last three babies I know have all been born at 6lb or less and all perfectly formed, just smaller

Oh @feliznavidad2 how annoying, hope the itching isn't driving you too mad, and that levels stay low enough for birth when you want. Can you take anything for the itching?

Oh how annoying @Soph0105!! At least it explains why you all felt so poorly.

I've heard that girls wee just sort of seeps @Minster2012 whereas boys it's a fountain. Lots of Willy chat in this house too - we try not to engage!

A week tomorrow 🥳🥳🥳 @Vil10! Will you move straight in or stay at your mums whilst doing the messy bits? With pain relief options if I were you I'd ask lots of questions and make sure you understand what they're saying. Epidurals don't necessarily mean you have to give birth strapped to a bed, you can still move around with them.

DS utterly obsessed with his baby cousin (she's nearly 8 weeks) although I suspect my sister less pleased with him as he got up loudly at 6.30 and is as shouty and loud as you'd expect from a nearly 3 year old (can't get my head around him nearly being 3!)

Have a lovely BH weekend all, haven't got loads of plans here but DH doing lots of sporting activities today so DS and I will
Go and check out the big jubilee party in a local park!

OP posts:
Vil10 · 02/06/2022 07:57

@larrythelizard the plan is to move straight in on the Friday after moving things over Thursday/Friday, crazy I know🙄 but OH is knocking the fire out himself and we can just close off the front room so it won't affect the rest of the house, we're decorating ourselves anyway, and the wall that's being knocked down is just a small stud wall between the kitchen and dining room so praying it won't be too much mess🥴 saying that though it's the wall that the extractor fan and 2 cupboards are on so who bloody knows! The spraying of the wardrobes and windows/doors is only a 2 day job too but unfortunately isn't until the 23rd meaning we'll be in the spare room until then, our bed is being delivered the 18th then we can get it into our room and get that sorted on the 25th, it really is all go🤦🏽‍♀️

I'll definitely ask lots of questions, I'd rather it be a face to face app I feel like I understand more during them, I'm just not one for taking medication or pain relief really, don't even like having paracetamol but that being said if the pain is unbearable in my back obviously I need to know my options!
So sweet DS is besotted with his cousin, makes you wonder how in love he'll be with his baby brother or sister!! Have a lovely weekend!

feliznavidad2 · 02/06/2022 08:01

Ahh that's lovely that he's so interested in his baby cousin @larrythelizard 🥰 I'm sure he'll be the same, if not more when babe arrives!

@Vil10 can't believe you're nearly in the house, so exciting! 🤩 so, reflux isn't linked to it (but do speak to GP if you're struggling as omeprazole has made a massive difference to me!) The excess bile acid in the blood is what causes the itching I think. I'm allowed to take piriton but avoiding it unless really need it as it makes me groggy.

Have a fab bank hol all ☀️ DS and I are off to the Natural History Museum in Oxford today 🦖 as OH is working, and then having a lazy one tomorrow.
Hoping the park and ride bus stop isn't too far from the museum itself. 🤞🏻

Minster2012 · 02/06/2022 08:39

Ahhh I see @feliznavidad2, let's hope the monitoring shows it's ok and no need for too early an exit! The laundrette will def get some time off over the weekend, and huzzah no bed wetting last night!! (Though Bronte did luke on her sheet!)

@Vil10 that's sooooo exciting!! Well done OH for pushing it through 🙌🏻 the work that you want to do will make the time fly by until due date! Then you can nest 🥰 it sounds like you've got a great plan for getting the work done...can't believe everyone is getting on with their houses & mine is totally stalled 🤔

What of my brain working doesn't come back @larrythelizard & I repeat to X "mummy doesn't have a Willy so you need to ask daddy" 😂deflect!! DH would love an open air heated pool! I'm not a big fan of swimming I have to say

Our BH weekend v busy

  • Today my parents taking X swimming so I can do some house stuff, then Bronte & I meeting friends for lunch & stopping at my parents with the kids tonight as DH out at a corporate day today & ppl stopping at our house so we are vacating.
  • tomorrow all my family from midlands driving up to meet her so big lunch thing at ours
  • sat it's our village street party then MIL hosting a bbq at hers
  • sun it's our old village event in afternoon

and that's without seeing friends 🙄too much

2020mission · 02/06/2022 10:48

@Vil10 don't worry about boobs not leaking I didn't have a hint of a leak during pregnancy and I'm breastfeeding so it's completely normal for nothing to come out until baby is here. Enjoy the dry nipples while you can!

@Minster2012 I'm just going to say "ask you dad" anytime Matthew talks about his willy in the future 😂 another perk of having a boy is OH will be taking him to the loo on family trips out rather than me all the time like it would be with a girl too haha

Am I the only one not bothered about this bank holiday weekend? Probably because I'm on maternity so every day is the same for me almost. The difference is everywhere will be busier.

Franklydear · 02/06/2022 11:02

@2020mission me too. I had booked time off for half term, so other than having dh home half the week, no difference
@Minster2012 swimming is pretty much the only exercise I can do comfortably, I don’t mind the changing too much, although I haven’t been getting off wet costumes for a long time, It’ll come back to me
@Vil10 i didn’t realised house needed work, hope everything is finish before bebe is here
not much here today, dtd last night and this morning, and I wanted to stay in bed a little longer, so dh got up with ds and let me sleep until10!
trooping the colour now, we need to go, but ds is glued to the screen, I think I grew a monarchist, the horror! We’re republicans, boy, get the memo

Somatronic · 02/06/2022 11:07

@2020mission not bothered about this bank holiday weekend?! I've been living for it for the past three weeks or so! Literally counting down the days. I'm so tired I can hardly cope with work so I'm taking next week off aswell to basically go to bed for the week. I was thinking about it yesterday and I had Covid over the Christmas holidays and IVF over the Easter holidays so I haven't had a proper break since last summer probably (other than a few days in March). I think I'm burnt out. In Ireland it's just the usual June Bank Holiday weekend, no royal stuff obviously, thankfully.

Another day another migraine. 3rd in two weeks. I'm fit to kill someone. I'm in such bad form. I think it's the tiredness though I'm sleeping plenty. Like, all evening on the couch and all night in bed. Hopefully only another three weeks of this to go.

I apologise for the negativity of this post. I had a dream where all my friends dumped me for being so negative and no fun. I am aware!

Minster2012 · 03/06/2022 08:07

Morning ladies! Happy Friday!

@Somatronic don't ever feel bad for a rant, honestly pregnancy is very hard & for some it's awful, literally a case of getting through the days. Sounds like you've had no time so def make the most of this fine and try chill, do not a lot. And sleeeeeep!! @larrythelizard gets bad migraines too. The exhaustion is real

@Franklydear lots of ppl love swimming, I'm just not a fan, I find it boring and open water swimming (like the sea) scares me after my lymph nodes were taken out I went in a pool to try do some rehab & it felt like my arms couldn't hold my weight & I felt like I was going to drown it was scary so I've not enjoyed it since then

@2020mission I'm still bothered by the bank holiday cos it means DH is around and also lots of fun stuff going on...lots of trips to the toilet 😂yes that's a perk

So my family coming up from midlands to ours today. I vacated our house last night so DH & others could stay over after their day out. I'm hoping they haven't drunk us dry or trashed the house when I get back, what do we think?!

Franklydear · 03/06/2022 08:35

@Somatronic rant away, and get some help in the process, what a wonderful village we have here
@Minster2012 i wonder if the lymphs make a difference then, I am from a very rough coast, respect for the water is imprinted on us early on, you can swim parallel to the coast at waist high, it’s safer, we also always have someone watching from land, but this coast is much calmer than mine so I looked paranoid to my friends, except the one time a lifeguard came to talk to us and was saying exactly what I say, ha!
fantastic day out yesterday not too far from home and bonus, I found a wonderful Alice in wonderland cafe that the whole family liked, not sure what the plan is today....

Franklydear · 03/06/2022 08:37

@Minster2012 get there early and make them clean, your dh is like a roudly teenager sometimes😜

Vil10 · 03/06/2022 11:39

@feliznavidad2 I know! I feel like it's been so long! Last time I spoke to my midwife about it she did suggest trying natural things which I was happy about and I do find certain things make it worse, but I'm going to try having some gaviscon and see what that does!! Ohhh okay, I would never have known that! The thing our bodies go through! Hope you had fun at the museum!!

@Minster2012 it really will fly, however I'm having my baby shower first weekend of July in the house, obviously thinking we'd have been in a lot sooner, so it'll be mission get house and garden looking half decent in 3 weeks for 28 people🥴 but after baby shower it's officially nesting mode and I can't wait!! What's happening with your house now? What's the next project? Woww very busy weekend!! Hope your house isn't in too much of a mess!!

@2020mission oh good that's made me feel better Thankyou!! Hopefully there'll be plenty in these boobs!!

@Franklydear I mean maybe I'm being dramatic, it doesn't need loads doing, eventually bathrooms need doing and the garden but the garden will be next years job, main jobs for now is the wall being knocked down, the fire knocked out and decorating, hoping I can get all painting and decorating done though in 3 weeks! And OH is doing the feature wall in the nursery so hopefully that room will be done in no time🤞🏼 bonus having a lie in until 10!! Hope you had a lovely day!!

Had a nice chilled day in the garden today and then a bbq today at my mums, however the rain this morning and now the clouds don't look very promising so it might be a bbq inside😂 OH is off camping tomorrow with the dogs and his friends and my mums street is doing a street party so I'll be going to that, then OH dad is taking us out for a nice meal tomorrow, not sure how that will go like🤷🏽‍♀️

InkyPaper · 03/06/2022 11:55

Morning everyone! Been a super busy week this week, went on a blacksmithing experience, which was awesome but holy crap did my muscles hurt after!!
DH is convinced he felt the baby move after he had his hand over my belly and there was this little 'pop'. No bump pictures yet @Vil10 ! Literally don't have one 🤣 I'm just looking fatter, that's all, no classic bump shape to me or anything. Genuinely don't look pregnant at all.

@larrythelizard it's a funny one with bumps, isn't it? I find it hard that I don't have that classic bump shape yet, makes me feel like a fraud 😂

@Vil10 all the house stuff sounds super, super exciting!! Nothing like a bit of pressure to get it all done before the baby arrives 🙈 are you and your OH doing the decoration yourself or are you getting people in to paint/wallpaper for you?

@Minster2012 here's hoping you get home to a non-trashed house!

@Somatronic complain away! Migraines are miserable. Here's hoping that they disappear for you once second trimester starts 🤞🏻

@Franklydear I love swimming too, haven't been in ages though - not quite sure I'd get into my swimsuit now 🙈

@Juno231 your neighbour sounds... interesting. Who complains about open windows?!

@Soph0105 booooo to covid! Hope you all feel better soon

Off to a wedding this weekend, looking forward to seeing people but definitely not looking forward to all the traffic. More than a bit worried about making it places on time! Praying to the traffic god's that the A1 isn't complete hell on earth

Soph0105 · 03/06/2022 11:56

Happy bank holiday Friday everyone! We are celebrating by staying inside and continuing to isolate 😂😂😂 feeling way better today and PTSD is definitely fighting fit so glad to be over the worst of it... probably the only people in the country to be glad it's raining today because it makes me feel so much better about staying in! I hate being inside when the weather is nice but it feels perfectly acceptable when it's chucking it down 🙄

paintfairy · 03/06/2022 12:13

@feliznavidad2 not good on the itching. I hope things manage to stay OK for a while yet.
@Soph0105 aarrrghhh no! Not the dreaded rona. 🙈 I was joking when I said it isn't flu season. 🤣 I mean, its not, but getting it is still possible. And I dunno whether it's preferable or not?
@Minster2012 I certainly think the bump means nothing. Mine is so neat though. 🤭 Fizzy willy? I can't believe that happens so early. But yes- go ask daddy. I'm not a swimming fan either really.
Sanitary pads? Better to be prepared i think. But yes grim all the same!
@2020mission Sanity products are definitely needed. 🤣
@Vil10 everyone is different. I fully expected to look like a whale and fat and awful. With loads of weight to lose after. As it is- my thighs and tops of my arms seem thinner than usual, my bump is neat and I still have a waist. In fact I think I look better than I ever have. 🤣 For now at least...... Neither have I really put on weight. Yet normally I do just looking at food, so it's really surprising. 🤷‍♀️ Its just not predictable i guess. And if you have more than one I think it can be completely different the 2nd time too. Seems to be like spinning a roulette wheel. 🤣 I live in dread of what the next week brings. 😆 My leaky boobs have stopped though!
House stuff is exciting. If a little stressful. I've given up looking at mine. 🤣 Over it. But at least you'll be in! They give less drugs for epidural these days so you aren't dead from the waist down completely. So it might be ok? Certainly sounds better than it used to be.
@Somatronic it actually pisses me off when people struggling ttc say how grateful you should be for all these pregnancy issues. Yeah, just you wait. Because no one can possibly enjoy feeling like shit. No matter how pleased you are it finally happened. Really crap on the migraine front. I hope it settles down for you.
@InkyPaper I felt like a fraud for ages as the bump wasn't really obvious for quite a while. A blacksmithing experience? You are insane. 🤣 Bet it was fun though?
Enjoy the wedding!

Weed killing round one complete yesterday morning. Then literally couldn't move after that or stay awake. 🤣 Sleeping last night was horrific. Too hot, too irritable. Too everything. I was in a really bad mood too. Then I ended up propping myself up because I was getting reflux. Grrrr. Pleased its cooler today but I'm still hot again already. Not really bbq weather mind!

Soph0105 · 03/06/2022 17:49

Just hopping on to say that I've been thinking about fizzy willies all day. Thanks @Minster2012 😂

Vil10 · 03/06/2022 20:59

@InkyPaper enjoy every minute of not looking too pregnant yet, now that it's clearly obvious im pregnant the amount of people who touch my belly is not okay!! The woman who is the manager of the sheltered accommodation where my grandma lives, I know her to say hi to that's it, ALWAYS strokes my belly and touches it every time I see her and I find it so uncomfortable, I hurt move away, you'd think she'd have gotten the hint by now!! Hahaha definitely pressure but will make the weeks go quick! Yeah we're doing the decorating ourselves, I don't mind painting and OH always says "why would I pay someone to do something I can do myself" 🤦🏽‍♀️ have a lovely time at the wedding!!

@paintfairy jealous that you still have a waist!! I definitely don't, I've gained weight on my thighs, tops of my arms and so much on my face, but don't look any different from the back! That's so good you haven't really put weight on either, you go girl!! Glad your leaky nips have stopped! Definitely exciting about the house but I think once we're in and it comes to unpacking and actually doing the decorating I'll be stressed for sure! Did you end up going ahead with booking that joiner??

Well the weather cleared up for our family bbq so that was nice but I've really struggled with trapped wind pains and constipation these last 2 days, it's extremely painful and when baby is moving it's hurting sometimes too because of the wind cramps, read that it's the most common side effect of iron tablets so I'm guessing it's those! Also woke up and my back is in bits, don't know why, whether I've slept funny or this is just it for me now, with all my previous bsck problems it was the one thing that was making me dread pregnancy but up to now my back has been absolutely fine so maybe I take it as a small win that I'm only struggling now in the last 8/9 weeks??

paintfairy · 04/06/2022 10:05

@Vil10 how much iron are you taking? The trapped wind doesn't sound fun. Nothing about this is mind. 🤣 I'm just taking a low dose as I don't know what they want me on, and although I've chased the midwife because my gp hasn't got the prescription, nothing has clearly happened. I didn't want to take too much though so I'm just taking a bit for now until they pull their fingers out.
Hmmm, I thought my back would have given up by now too! But it is starting to struggle. I have pains on and off but what I have to watch for is the bottom of it. And I've got some painful joints now which is starting to radiate out to my hips. That's when mine will go completely. I have had DH poking it and I'm trying to be careful. Over doing it certainly seems to not help but it's hard as sometimes you need to do things. 🤦‍♀️ 8 weeks left is still a long time in some ways so it needs to last a bit longer! I'm not even sure who I'd go and see (being pregnant) if it gets bad. I'm just praying it won't.....
Literally no one has touched my bump bar my DH. And if they did, I think I'd launch them into next week. 🤣🤣🤣
Nope, still not booked the joiner. I'm sitting here hoping somehow it'll magically get better. But it won't. 🤣 I actually detest paying £1700 for that.

Did I mention we have booked to go away? I did it after the scan. Devon! 🥳 No dog. Just chilling. Can't wait......

BellatrixK · 04/06/2022 14:37

@Soph0105 noooo to the Rona! How are you all feeling now?

@Somatronic so glad to see you here. So sorry that you’re suffering. the first weeks are rubbish, but I’m feeling a lot better now at 16 weeks.

@Vil10 I love your attitude to decorating. That’s ours as well. Although it does mean that it’s taken us about 4 weeks to repaint wardrobes and a room. Next time we’re doing it your way and spraying them. I can’t believe people are touching your bump.

@InkyPaper I’ve no bump at all yet… except it feels hard and round at night if I push it out. And I’ve got stretch marks already!! I’ve not really felt any movements yet either, except from some little flutters, that I’ve felt for ages, but I thought it was gas?

Guys, we’ve been stranded in Egypt! Getting here was a dream. We got fast tracked through the airport as we have a 2 and 1 year old (my nieces). But our flight has been cancelled with no news! I actually really, really want to get home. I have a midwife appointment and a gender scan this week … and 2 exams at school so wanting to get back ASAP.

bez91 · 05/06/2022 03:31

Matchsticks in eyes whilst Z will only sleep on me 😫 he has colic too which is challenging 😴

@Vil10 lovely you're having baby shower in your new home! What will get done will get done before baby arrives, as long as youre all comfortable don't put too much pressure on yourselves for everything to be perfect and 'ready'. We did all our decorating on our reno and definitely more rewarding (and OC cheaper!) Hope the meal went ok with FIL 🤞🏼

@InkyPaper love a good wedding - enjoy! Hope you made it with little traffic, manic on the roads this weekend

Glad you booked to go away @paintfairy I think you need a break from tradesmen and wardrobes 😆 are you still mucking horses out etc? No wonder you're starting to feel it with the back pain

Had an appointment through from the hospital for end of the month with gynaecology . Doesn’t say what it’s for, I can only assume it’s a routine check up following my tear. I could take Z with me but they have everything amalgamated at the hospital and EPU is in the same place which is ridiculous, I definitely don’t want to be insensitive having a baby with me when so many ladies there hear bad news, I spent a lot of time there myself and it’s truly horrible so DH will have to have the day off work

bez91 · 05/06/2022 03:59

Also, is anyone else’s DH incapable of hearing anything whilst they’re asleep 🤦🏼‍♀️ DH still in the spare room in an attempt to stop DD disturbing me and Z in the night and to deal with her wake ups. He’s putting her back to bed in her room every time she comes into him but 9 times out of 10 he says he doesn’t hear her get into bed with him so it’s not going bloody well 🤦🏼‍♀️

They’re the opposite side of the house; I’ve just heard her get up, cough and splutter all the way to the spare room, walk into the door shout OUCH at the top of her voice, get into bed with him and let out the biggest sigh, gulped loads of water seemingly right next to his head and he’s still asleep 🤷‍♀️ so I don't think he'll ever return to the marital bed 🙈

DKDK123 · 05/06/2022 04:33

Still reading away in the background when I get a chance, so close to the next batch of babies being born over the next few months 😁
It's not harmonious here at the moment, DD has really bad reflux (and/or a cows milk allergy, they havent decided which yet) so the majority of our day us spent unsuccessfully trying to console her while she screams in pain and projectile vomits everywhere. They were wanting to wait it out a week or two before medication but I'll be right on the phone to the docs on Monday demanding some, as its getting worse rather than better and so horrible seeing her in so much pain.
And remember my neighbour who sadly had a still birth a few weeks before DD was born? She gave me a present for DD this week, how brave of her, it must have taken some strength to come round do that. Her eyes were totally filling up trying not to cry, I was trying to hold back the tears and not set her off it was so hard knowing what to say. But at least now she's officially told me herself I can be there to support her if she ever needs it. I've ordered her a bracelet with a pressed forget me not flower in it in memory of her daughter, I wasn't quite sure what to do but wanted a small something to acknowledge her baby girl 😢

Minster2012 · 05/06/2022 08:25

Shall do a big catch up in a bit once I've grabbed more mountains of washing 😩but wanted to wish @whatwonder happy due date 🤞🏻🤞🏻& hope you feel ok xx

Lexber · 05/06/2022 08:50

Sorry for the radio silence it's been a bit of a shaky weekend here. E hasn't really been improving much so at the 6 week check we got some gaviscon for silent reflux which a couple of days later she was screaming in pain from when passing poo which had gone from wet explosive to solid 😬 so I took her off it. By Friday night she was struggling more and taking very small feeds (down from 3-4oz every 3hrs to 0.5-1.5oz every 3/4hrs) and so unsettled it was awful to see.
I rung 111 to see a Dr Sat morning to look at changing her milk and 45 minutes after first talking to someone there was an ambulance outside. They checked her over and she was mottled and labourer breathing with a heart rate hitting 180 so we were taken to ED for her to be seen properly. Poor little mite was hooked upto all the machines and then we were transferred to the childrens ward. I've never seen a blood pressure cuff so tiny!! Fast forward a few hours and we were thankfully allowed home - she has been prescribed something else for the silent reflux and changed onto a new milk for cows milk intolerance so hopefully she improves. She's only 7lb 5oz at 7 weeks (3corrected) so they didn't want to wait as her dropped feeds could have been really bad for her especially with her medical history already. She's such a drama Queen already! And apparently my very chilled and content boy was a pain in the arse at home for daddy and so unsettled.. it was the first time the twins had been separated so I think he knew and missed her 💙💖
I will try and catch up properly when I get a chance, I'm currently extremely sleep deprived with an OH that can apparently sleep through anything and everything right next to him which isn't great when they're waking together to feed 😬

Franklydear · 05/06/2022 10:25

@DKDK123 dont hold back the tears, have a good cry together, the bracelet sounds great, please insist she doesn’t need to wear it, it is to keep, in case she feels obliglated
@Lexber hugs, it is so hard, but glad you got the right help, what is with men and childcare? I was going to have a luxurious bath to shave my legs for swimming yesterday, do my hair, put a mask on, you know .... dh and ds to do music practice and homework, 20 mins in, dh came to get me, ds crying on the sofa, nothing done, everyone stressed, so I quickly shaved my legs, had the most basic of hair wash and went to sort them all out, ds did music practice and maths homework for me, so don’t know what the problem was!

I wasn’t going to tell you, you’re all done ttc, for the last couple of days I am having brown spotting, nothing on pad, so white you’d think I didn’t use them, a week till predicted af, yes @larrythelizard calling that new nurse on Monday , even dh is sending me to the doctors now, I’ve been on the nhs website, it says not a concern if the blood is brown, ovulation or implantation bleeding, as per my dates, none makes sense really, but what do I know, we’ll know in a week I guess, in case you didn’t have enough drama
also I saw a birth on Instagram, but I cannot correlate to mn name.... congratulations on a beautiful girl, whoever you are

Franklydear · 06/06/2022 03:42

Midnight rumbles!!
this time is not my doing, smells can’t sleep any longer and of course the thing to do is wake up mummy, I imagine the anxiety of going back to school
spotting stopped, just about 48 hours, now to wait a week or two for af, answers on the back of a stamp, please
