I’m quietly hoping for you @Franklydear

feliznavidad2 · 16/05/2022 22:23

I can't read whilst there's no paragraphs BUT have just read that the iOS app has been updated and now paragraphs have returned. 👏🏻 👏🏻

I will do a megaaaa catch up tomorrow. Hope all of you with small babies are doing ok. 😘

Franklydear · 16/05/2022 23:51

But very quietly @BellatrixK
I got too hot and now awake, so annoying, you'll find me sleeping the day away tomorrow, I do know I am sick and time off is not meant to get on with jobs

DKDK123 · 17/05/2022 01:35

*MN is being difficult again. It wont let me post as it saying the usernames dont exist so ive replaced them all with just the first letter in the hppe that works instead.

I haven't disappeared, I've still been reading along everyone's updates every day but I seem to always have a baby or a breast pump in my hand so only have one hand free for scrolling which is fine but it takes an age to type one handed hence reading but not replying!

Glad to hear you were reassured by the scan V. , as others have said anywhere within those lines is completely normal as some babies are big and some are small, it's more to keep track if baby massively drops or puts on weight in comparison to your previous growth plot regardless of where it is on the line. (And even that is highly inaccurate most of the time).

J. all exciting news on the house front! It really will be great once you can get in and start nesting for baby's arrival.

P. sounds all go at your end too! Great bargain on the nursery furniture. Onto he holiday front I'd definitley go just take your notes with you as a precaution but the likelihood of needing them that early is small in comparison to the benefits of you being able to chill for the last break away before baby comes.

M. I feel you on the BF, just do what's best for you, youve given her some goodness to start off with, if you need to switch to formula for both your sanity there is nothing wrong with that at all. I've thrown the rule books out of the window and we've found a mix of what's working for us that conpletely goes against the advice of establishing BF. I've abandoned all BF at night time as I'm too tired to deal with her fussing and not taking the breast properly. So it's formula at night or any bottles of breast milk that I've collected from pumping and both of us are now more settled at night as a result. Same with outside of the house now I've abandoned the stress of a fussy baby BF in favour of bottles. Anybtime she doesnt BF tho, im expressing right afterwards to keep my milk supply coming (if in the house or as soon as I get home if im out). During the day in the house however when we're just kicking about then I persevere with BF, some days it's a nightmare other days she does well. But like Bronte, it's the trouble with opening her mouth wide enough that's causing issues then she gets frustrated and causes merry hell. I also noticed she wouldn't take any other bottles than the cow and Gate ready made ones as they have tiny teats. I tried the smallest mam and tomee tippee teats and she had the same difficulties with them as she does with breats feeding. So I think her mouth is just too small at the minute and opening it up really wide is just too tiring for her. Today was the first day she took a mam teat so there is hope on the horizon for BF too. 🤞

DH earned mega brownie points this morn, I was so tired I didn't even hear DD cry for her 6am feed, he decided just to let mw sleep and made her up formula took her downstairs and let me sleep till 11am! 😲 I must admit it was long overdue I felt amazing afterwards. Then he took me out to lunch with DD (DS was at nursery) so it's been a great wee day for me. Tho like m. And B. I'm slightly paniking at the prospect of him going back to work next week and dealing with the 2 kids on my own 🙈 DS is an amazing big brother but tries to do everything himself (like takes nappies over to try change her before i get there or tried to set up a bottle when i fell asleep the kther day, so I need eyes on him at all times. He does have his helping jobs, I get him involved as much as poss but he's so fiercely independent he thinks he can do it all. I can't complain tho, he is 100% besotted by her.

Franklydear · 17/05/2022 05:31

Oh @DKDK123 wonderful to hear your updates, and mammoth effort responding, everything will fall into place for you too

funky up and down night for me, but feel strangely rested this morning, even if I got up with a runny nose, the peace before the storm, then I’ll have the morning proper to rest again, on independent ds, the melatonin is working wonders and he must feel the difference as he’s taken to go to the medicine cabinet in the evening and taking it himself😮 so rather than telling him off, we got him one of this pill boxes by day, see what he thinks of that.
I bit the bullet and asked for the form to sign up formally for the children event, it’ll be fun and we were going anyway, what’s the worst that can happen.

larrythelizard · 17/05/2022 07:45

Also sending quiet hope @Franklydear and also get better vibes

Lovely update @DKDK123 - sounds like you're finding what works for you which is wonderful.

Lovely photo @Vil10 and like you say loads of room for baby to move again.

How's the sciatica now @Minster2012?

Major round ligament pain here (I think) which is worse at night - presumably when I'm turning over. But I'm tired and a bit grumpy.

And all the stuff I ordered to wear to work looks shit so I may as well wear stuff I already own that also looks shit.

I think baby has moved as movements feel different, still there but less thuddy and a bit more in my side.

Yep so I'm whingy and grumpy today...!

OP posts:
Juno231 · 17/05/2022 11:06

@larrythelizard whiny and grumpy is perfectly allowed 😁 sorry about the round ligament pain though, that's poop

@Minster2012 @InkyPaper I can feel baby moving again but it's still funny compared to before - I have a feeling she's perhaps turned head down and facing my back so I'm not feeling as much as before and when I do it feels a bit muffled.

@BellatrixK aaah how exciting to be in the purchasing part of the pregnancy! I got my snuzpod 3 on FB marketplace for £35 I think it was. Car seat they advise new but mine is from a close friend so I know she's not been in any accidents 🤷. I second what paintfairy said about not needing to replace the pram mattress (if there even is one!).

Now that I've moved in to the new house I'm itching to get the final stuff for the baby. I can feel myself getting on to washing all the baby clothes this weekend in preparation 😍

Juno231 · 17/05/2022 11:41

@DKDK123 mega brownie points for OH indeed! I was impressed you guys went out for lunch already - does this mean your recovery is going well so far? Remind me, did they try and get the main fibroid out as well or did they leave it in?

Minster2012 · 17/05/2022 13:33

Does MN like me again?? Honestly Mumsnet is a now!
Apparently @kaylsd can't post (stupid MN!) but hopefully reading along!

So it's c section day for me today! And still not at due date! I find it really bizarre!! Ha ha ha instead I get to stare at her (not so) lovingly wide awake from 1.30-4.15am after I got her to sleep at midnight after DH did the late night feed!

@BellatrixK I've got a few things free too like the expressing pump which was great as I didn't know if I would need it so didn't want to spend a load & we have the prep machine from before, I've actually just ordered a new filter for that so we can start using powder. I also got a snuzpod 2 second hand, she even sleeps in it once in a while! Hopefully you've seen B looking fab in her romper ❤️

@Franklydear ahhh yes I've seen some of working mums. Also with the quietly hoping crew

@DKDK123 loving the brownie points, 11am dream!!! Sounds like you've got it perfect on the BF/FF, I think we all agree it's whatever works for you!

@larrythelizard my sciatica is gone!! It's so amazing and prob the best part of having her early, not struggling for another few weeks in pain. You be careful you don't overdo it with the gym

@Juno231 oooooo get you nesting!! Get the washing on 😂

larrythelizard · 17/05/2022 14:40

iOS update and paragraphs are back! Whoop!

Happy section day @Minster2012 - I think it shows she's just your daughter and ambitious to get on with life!

Beautiful day here, two loads of washing and scotch guarded my new white trainers - oh and some work too of course! Have started sorting the house out in preparation for sorting out the nursery - why is selling things on FB marketplace so much stress...?!

OP posts:
larrythelizard · 17/05/2022 14:40

Oh and YAY on the sciatica @Minster2012!

OP posts:
bez91 · 17/05/2022 17:48

Good news on the scan @Vil10 I'd say don't fret on size now. Some people just don't grow "average" babies - me included, some bodies just aren't designed to it seems. Not that that's helpful in the realms of multiple growth scans but it will all turn out ok 💕

@BellatrixK oh it was a lovely video 🥰 yes definitely can get new mattresses for most things online.

@paintfairy I've bought one thing from Vinted so far, will see how it goes but I've got plenty to sell to keep me busy through summer too. You're right they don't listen, DH was kicking up a fuss today because the mattress in Zacs room appears to have sunk after DD laid in it (she shouldn't have but she's only 4 so I wouldn't expect it to damage it) anyway, so he asked me to complain to where we got it from. I did, they rang me up really quickly and asked me to check a few things. Turns out the mattress is sunken because it's not resting on the frame properly because he has built it upside down 😂

That's fab of DH @DKDK123 it's one thing being up all night with baby but when you've been through it too with surgery etc it's hard. Hope you enjoyed your lie in. I think we're going for lunch tomorrow. I'm still a bit sore and bruised so taking things slow.

@Juno231 let the nesting commence!

Ouch @larrythelizard probably because you're in a static position. Tired and grumpy is allowed though, let yourself off

Irresponsibly had HALF a beer yesterday, first drink in 9 months. I could feel it 🙈 It’s all a little bit too good at the moment; house is tidy ish, not a lot of washing as DH has been doing a lot, sun is shining. It’s been really nice us both at home and some time together, obviously a new stage of manic will hit next week when he’s back at work and I’m trying to get 2 children out the house for nursery drop off 3 times a week for 7:30am 😆 yesterday I did have to help wipe DDs bum whilst holding the baby 🤦🏼‍♀️ adapt and overcome and all that!

Minster2012 · 17/05/2022 18:44

Honestly I'm so pleased my sciatica is gone @larrythelizard it's like OMG I can walk!! Probs why I've been walking a bit too much!

@bez91 😂😂the frame that's funny but also something we'd do! I've been lucky & taken being back on the wine really well 🤦🏼‍♀️🙄😬but great for weight loss!

@larrythelizard selling things in general is stressful tbh but you seek to have got lots done!

So I'd totally forgotten just how bloody hard babies are to dress & undress. You lot pregnant may laugh but it's a right mission! I really don't envy @bez91 doing the school runs at that time cos it took me over an hour and a half this morning to do feeding, dressing & breakfast for the 3 of us!!

Also @2020mission you might be able to help here on night time dressing with a blanket as opposed to sleeping bag...any help from anyone appreciated though

So it's 22/23 degrees in our room now & im wondering does she need a vest still on under her grow, under one blanket?
Having been awake last night from 10-12 then 1.30 to 4.15 I'm wondering if she was hot (though it wasn't as warm as that)

Franklydear · 17/05/2022 19:11

Spotting ladies, bubble burst

Minster2012 · 17/05/2022 19:12

@Franklydear 😣😣

Maybe I'll crack open the 1 tog baby sleeping bag, doctor google suggests this might be the best idea 💡

InkyPaper · 17/05/2022 19:14

@DKDK123 aww definite brownie points for your DH! It's lovely that your DS wants to be so involved, but I imagine quite frustrating for you 🙈

@Franklydear brilliant! Glad the melatonin is working for your DS

@larrythelizard oooouch that does not sound fun, you've definitely got a great excuse to be feeling grumpy - how far along are you now? Two loads of washing in one day? You're on it! I struggle to do one sometimes 😂

@Juno231 ooh how strange, I guess it makes sense if she's moved position that it'll feel different. Is it worth getting checked out for peace of mind perhaps?

@Minster2012 happy C-section day! 😄 So glad your sciatica is gone 🙌🙌

@bez91 aww let the good times roll!

My brother's offered to give me the next to the bed cot thing he used with my nephew (the kid's just grown out of it) - one more thing ticked off the list 🙌 which admittedly I have ticked very little off...

DH and I realised that we've somehow managed to get something in almost every single weekend between now and the end of July, which is foolish and we have regrets 😂🙈 so we're refusing all other social things after that, otherwise we'll never get the house sorted! 😂

larrythelizard · 17/05/2022 19:22

I get way overexcited in the summer @InkyPaper - although managed to keep half the weekends in May free were then busy every weekend until mid-July! I feel like I'm on a ticking clock to do stuff pre-baby as I'm not making any commitments to myself or anyone else post-baby; what will be will be!
I'm 26+5, starting to creak a little now!

Boo to the spotting @Franklydear

@Minster2012 Some of the sleeping bags have a minimum weight limit btw, I think to stop them floating up around their faces. I'd have thought she'd be ok in just a babygrow+blanket but I'm very out of practice of small baby thinking.

🤣🤣🤣 amazing @bez91, it'll take DH a while to live that one down! Sounds like you're starting to find your stride as a mum of two...! At least if it's out of the house by 7.30 you'll be back at a reasonable hour for a nap?!

OP posts:
Franklydear · 17/05/2022 19:30

Well, it was only the little pinky tinge in paper but you know what it means.... oh well, I’ll keep you updated, I bet on tomorrow morning coming on

Minster2012 · 17/05/2022 19:38

@Franklydear not out yet then

@InkyPaper bloody hell that's a lot!! I've just had to (very reluctantly) agree to all my family (who live in midlands) coming to visit on bank holiday Friday. Which means DH out Thursday at a corporate event, he is likely to be hung over, that Friday then village events both Saturday & Sunday. That doesn't sound relaxing to me but hey ho.

@larrythelizard yeah I have a couple of those smaller 1 tog ones which you can popper the arms down so that's what I was thinking, we don't do the arms in though

Also didn't mention earlier, Bronte said thanks to my dad for helping today by waiting til he'd changed into clothes to go out this evening hall room dancing & then she projectile vomited on him 😂I tried (and failed) not to laugh 😂

Franklydear · 17/05/2022 19:43

@Minster2012 as good as, really, depends how helpful family is really on the bank holiday, a few of my sisters in law would be a bless as they would take over, another one wouldn’t be on the way but there’s another two that no way, I am not waiting on you, definitely her mother’s daughter this one

Minster2012 · 17/05/2022 20:38

Helpful @Franklydear! No, my dad has agreed to do what we did last time they were here which is basically us & my parents providing full picnic, drinks & hosting them for a good few hours. Oh and clearing up afterwards, which, on today's basis the kitchen was tidy & clean til my parents "helped" by completely covering the kitchen in their cooking crap (I had soup they had pizza plus 2 different pans for veg) & then I was hanging up washing, putting my shopping away, loading the dishwasher (they leave everything on the worktop above, constantly it's infuriating, and washing up, annoying full stop let alone after a c section). So yeah, I'm saying no help whatsoever

Franklydear · 17/05/2022 20:50

@Minster2012 then I say you develop a bug a few days before and what a shame they can't come

feliznavidad2 · 17/05/2022 21:22

Can properly catch up now! Loving seeing all the babies on IG. 🥰 They're all absolutely adorable!

Late to the party but also vote you should go for a break @paintfairy ☀️ 😌

@Franklydear hope you're ok Mrs, fingers still tightly and quietly crossed for you.

Re. Overpacked diaries, the struggle is real! @InkyPaper @larrythelizard I finish work a week on Friday (only gonna be 34 and a half weeks but I need a blimmin' rest!) so am hoping for a surge of energy... hohum.

Great news on the next2me too @InkyPaper I've ordered a new mattress on Amazon for ours as its second hand too - currently out of stock, the crib itself washed up really well in the washing machine though.

So glad you're sciatica free again @Minster2012 and loving B's beautiful sleepsuits in her photos - the DUNS ones look super cute. Hope it isn't as warm tonight for all of us - also following about baby temperatures and sleep as have no idea with DS being a January baby!

Ooft @bez91 how was your first step back in to the world of alcohol? Sounds like you're bossing the parent of two malarkey at the moment, you've got this. 👏🏻

Everyone seems very productive today, you included @larrythelizard - where is the time going??!!

Glad you're doing ok @DKDK123 and even made it out for lunch. Your approach to feeding sounds very balanced - must take note this time around.

33 weeks today. And feel huge. And hot. Hoping for more sleep this eve, it's starting to feel v hardwork tossing and turning with a huge tum in the way.

Also had second hand pushchair, carrycot and DS' newborn car seat professionally cleaned which feels a bit exciting. I can't promise I won't take pics when it's back tomorrow...!

Lexber · 18/05/2022 06:02

Quick catch up as been a hard week. Sickness bugs hit the house, E is snuffly so not been settling as well so been running on 2.5hr sleep a few nights over the weekend, which progressed to 4hrs 🤣 exhaustion has been real to the point the 15 year old on Monday after school sent me up to bed for an hour as I was so exhausted and fed both babies so I could sleep (absolute diamond!!)

HV today so will be interesting to see how much they've both gained - they're def growing! Also a good chance to get advice about E as she's been snuffly nearly 2 week now and all I can use is saline drops which help. Thankfully she's still feeding well and lots of wet and dirty (too may at one point courtesy of the bug) nappies.

Hopefully we Jen less sleep deprived I can catch up a little better but I am here trying to read/keep up during night feeds xx

Franklydear · 18/05/2022 06:06

Spotting intensifying, I too got hit by a bug, courtesy of dh and ds, so I’ll, bug and af, off to bed with me
