@Minster2012 I used those silicon scar healing things once my scar was a bit less fresh - made me feel like it was a bit more protected!

I wish I was going home today, I've never left DS for three nights before and I miss him! Also feels weird to be a plane ride away. He's obviously having a lovely time at home and I'm actually feeling pretty awful (tried to eat, got a dodgy tummy out the other end now) so it's not like I'd even be up for playing with him!

Right big catch-up time, disappeared for a bit because I overdid things, felt like garbage and then had a friend stay for the weekend. Also had excruciating heartburn/wind recently which I think I'll ask the midwife about for tips on Wednesday. Got a new bra today though, in a H now and praying that's as big as things get because it feels like a ridiculous size 🙈

@paintfairy @Soph0105 I broached the idea of reusable nappies with DH and he was horrified and said he didn't want to be scraping poo out of a nappy every day 🤣🙈 so we're looking into ones like the biodegradable ones from Kit and Kin, because he wants to be more eco-friendly with it but is drawing the line at scraping poo apparently 🙈

@Minster2012 you are doing amazing with breastfeeding - I know plenty of people who would've thrown in the towel by now! Legit surprised your DH is still alive after what he said about lie-ins 🤣 man was playing with fire!! Sounds like you're being waaaaay too hard on yourself with the breastfeeding though. It's no mean feat to do it and there's loads of factors at play that dictate milk flow and everything else (as I understand it). Honestly, I think it's a miracle anyone manages to do it at all!

@larrythelizard aww you're really having a rough time of it with all the vom right now! Hope that stops asap and you feel loads better soon!

@Soph0105 did PTSD like his new formula in the end? Hurray for a new car!

@Franklydear hurray for getting the melatonin prescription - have you noticed a difference with DS being on it yet or is it one of those things where you need to take it for a while to see the benefits?

@BellatrixK nothing like an awkwardly positioned baby to throw a spanner in the works with a scan 😂 isn't it so amazing to see them though?! Mine had arms and legs going everywhere and was having a proper wriggle around, the sonographer only just managed to get the shots they needed 🙈 sorry your sonographer was rubbish though, that sucks. It's so lovely getting to properly tell people! I love how excited your family are for you! I'm sure all will be absolutely fine with the testing 🤗

Went to minigolf today, so much fun, I really like the mum of this friend, she's a single mum so it's a family invite for them, happy to oblige, only other thing I did today was knitting and doing a bit more of the mammoth blanket, 4 square lines and the border to go, I want to say the end is near but it's going to take me an age

Thanks ladies for the well wishes 🥰 he is very much like his sister when she was born, will post a few IG photos soon. We're still in hospital, hopefully home tomorrow.

Glad latch is going ok @Minster2012 that's what we're struggling with atm as maternity ward is like a sauna and only just got sensation back in my legs after a spinal block so positioning hard work. The wellies are gorgeous 😍 please share on the DH story 😬. Mine is at home, he didn't make it back to hospital yesterday at the time he said he would because he was tired, he's not had DD and to be fair and she's staying another night with her Pap but he's probably not running on adrenaline like me on 6 hours sleep in 56 hours

That's so lovely @BellatrixK - my favourite memory is of me telling my nanna we were expecting, so glad we recorded it. So so special as she never met our girl 🥰 definitely a hard habit to break but as each day goes by is another off the list

@BellatrixK it is a hard habit to break, I'm having mine tomorrow and I still find myself saying '....if all goes well' 🙈 I think there'll always be that tiny niggle in the back of your mind till they're safely in your arms. Glad everyone is celebrating in your news tho 😊

@larrythelizard it's natural to miss them when you're gone, how long do you have left before you head home?

@InkyPaper go to the GP for heartburn meds, they'll give you the good stuff that has worked wonders for quite a few of us, omeprazole or something like that it's called.

@Lexber they're growing really well that's good weight they're putting on 🥰 DS was 5lb 2 when he was born and I had friends that were too afraid to hold him they said he was too small and delicate that size but I loved it when he was so titchy! Obviously glad this one is going to be a better weight but part of me still wishes I could go back and get the teeny weeny cuddles that not everyone gets to experinence, I shall live through your photos instead 😂

Oh dear @Minster2012, don't overdo it digging that grave for him, rope in some help you've a bus full on stand by! What's he done/not done or said now? 😂

@bez91 fingers crossed you get home soon. Does DD know yet or are you waiting till you get home?

I probably won't be around much today, just wrote down my to do list and yea not quite going to be the relaxing day I'd hoped for, talk about leaving things last min its not like when babys coming out was a complete surprise 😂🙈 But DS is at his Grans now and happy as can be at the thought of a 'holiday' there and returning home to his sister so at least that's one less thing to worry about.

@bez91 your labour sounds a lot like mine, I wonder if it’s an induction thing, 8 also refuse to tell the story to expecting mother’s, I got a healthy boy, end of the story, the nurses made dh a makeshift bed in my room at the time, so he wouldn’t have to leave me

Just urgh. Too much, yesterday all DS ate for lunch was a sweetie pick n mix DH Let him have in tescos then whinged it cost £3. Yes darling you take him down the sweetie aisle instead & let him have a cheap bag, it's not hard, it's called negotiating. Then he let him have chocolates after tea after I'd said no. Then when doing bedtime DS called to me "daddy said if I get a book & brush my teeth & not come out of my room I can have the rest of my sweets in my bedroom in bed" HELLLLLLL NO. WTAF? Cue argument with me in which DH said it's really hard work looking after him constantly. YEP I know. And then he said "I'm just sitting around" SAY WHAT??? Actually I tidied yesterday after the 6 other kids were here trashing the house, bending down loads which I shouldn't but he's not. & now I'm in shitloads of pain (in fact EXACTLY now I've woken up to my c section wound seeping blood all over the bed & me). Might be the getting up to feed 4 times in the night or the house tidying?? But yeah looking after X & the dogs all day is tough, I've done it enough. But I use chill out games & quiet activities not just running around jumping on me etc so yeah maybe I MAKE it less strenuous. Urgh as he snores beside me as I feed now it's very tempting to kill him.

@Lexber honestly they are so gorgeous & clearly thriving you are doing amazing! How are the girls with them?

@Minster2012oh wow he really is courting death with those statements! You'd think his experiences would make him appreciate you more and what you do. Also, the man remembers you had major surgery a while ago right?!?! Do you need to get the doctor/midwife out for the scar bleeding? That doesn't sound good at all!!

@bez91 Zachary looks gorgeous. We were warned about the over stimulation of the pessary at our birth class actually. Doesn't sound fun at all! 🙈 I hope everything else is going OK though.

@InkyPaper that's what nappy liners are for! And also why using disposable for the first couple of weeks is probably not a bad idea (whilst it's runny and more often). No i didn't think to take his licence plate. 🤦‍♀️

He does realise a c section is actually major surgery right? If you don't take it easy your healing time will be even longer so it's counter productive to be doing too much right now. TAKE IT EASY! Yes I am shouting at you! 🤣 A weeping wound does not sound good at all. Don't make me come round there....... 🤭

Well, I'm not sure the house stuff progressed as much over the weekend as I would have liked. But a bit got done. And I actually think we've bought a car! Put a deposit on one yesterday. Thank god. I have a headache though. 😫

@Minster2012 glad your midwife still says Bronte is doing well, don't be too hard on yourself with the feeding, the formula is sure to fatten her up, and a fed baby no matter how they are fed is best, you're doing amazing and the big boobies still have purpose🤍 loving the boots too!!

@BellatrixK exactly!! It is easier to say don't worry because I was worried and still sometimes do have little wobbles but the test will offer reassurance for definite!' My baby is definitely just awkward, I had to go back for a second part of the 20 week scan too😂 hoping they aren't awkward for lasagne scan next week!! So glad you've been able to tell everyone, it's a lovely feeling isn't it!!

Well celebrating going into the third trimester with a beach day!! Can't believe I'm 28 weeks already, it's flying!! It's so lovely here, we're going to hire a boat later in the week! Going into the town tonight for a nice meal too, it really is the chilled week we needed!!

@paintfairy well done on the car deposit! Very strange not having DS but it was about seeing the baby and he would have absolutely monopolised everyone's time! They're hopefully coming to see us early June so the cousins can meet.

Yay for third trimester @Vil10 and holiday sounds dreamy!

Just waiting to get through security now, am really hungry for the first time since weds but doubt there'll be anything I can eat as I can't eat dairy! Can't wait to get back to DS, DH had to be 'pretend mummy' last night as DS wanted me! Loved meeting my new niece though who is still teeny tiny although my sister finding the recent cluster feeding hard. I think she needs to lower her expectations though, she thought that watching Netflix whilst feeding was bad...have educated her on that point and left her with a to-watch list!

Yeah thanks ladies, I then woke up at 8.30 for the next feed so got some sleep I realise that was VERY shouty this morning at you all 😂I think he's realised his mistake this morning after shoving my weeping foof in his face (well showing him) & this morning it's not been great as X had wet the bed, Bronte did a poonami in her bed & then me weeping blood on ours I think the washer will be on overdrive today 😂

The midwife is here today anyway so can ask her about the wound don't worry, I do hope she's put on weight 😬I think she def has she's feeding so much better

Also my SIL coming round tomorrow who is a registrar anaesthetist & regularly works on obs/gynae & she's not impressed 😝but she also knows me & it's so difficult not to just "pick that up off the floor" when actually you feel ok, but then pay for it later I guess

@DKDK123 glad DS is settled. I found my 'Last day' to be much of the same getting things prepared! Just take it easy as best you can. DD knows she has a brother called Zac 🥰 hopefully they will get to meet today, just takes ages to be discharged doesn't it!

@Franklydear could well be the same, annoying as I had no idea that you could overstimulate on an induction 🤦🏼‍♀️ so your birth class seems informative @paintfairy I know lots of people with positive experiences though. It's just I ended up knackered before things had begun. Even more so annoying, when I got to hospital initially the other doctor said they didn't think an induction was completely necessary as his growth wasn't too bad so offered to let me leave and wait. By that point it was Saturday afternoon and we'd sorted childcare etc etc 🤦🏼‍♀️

Love a birth story now @bez91 😅 wasn't so keen before I had Matthew. Just cause one is traumatic doesn't mean everyone's will be though so no harm in sharing! They definitely didn't warn me about the cons of the induction. Matthew's heart rate was up and down almost immediately after the gel was put in the monitor kept beeping and I was stuck on the bed attached to it for hours because of that

I'm lying down @Soph0105 don't worry, that's what I basically have to do now, with my pants round my knees, airing my weeping foof 😩. So midwife said it looks like I've got an infection in my wound which has been weeping all day. She's swabbed too confirm but I'm getting antibiotics from doctor, and I have to not cover it, so to lie down with my foof out to try dry it out & bend over, get up or move around as little as possible 😩. So DH getting a reprieve so he can act as my personal slave. Can't happen at night though for feeds which is annoying, I need to fashion a dressing for it 🤔

Anyway. Bronte has put weight on! Yippee!!! So she's gone from being 14.8% down on birth weight to now 10.8% 🙌🏻🥳🎉so that's more gained in 2 days than what she lost in 2 days last time so we are all really pleased & the midwife said how good she looks. Just need to continue, next weigh in Thursday

@larrythelizard your Niece looks so cute but can't beat snuggles with DS. Oh I was def shouting with you & hustling your support for my potential violence 😂luckily he also made me smoked salmon & eggs on bagel as soon as I got up so that also helped. I'm going boy for you 💙
