I have the opposite this time! I'm being told I'm tiny and you can't tell I'm pregnant! That would be because I'm already fat haha. 🙈

@madeleine85 oooh yes someone said you should wipe a cold wipe above the nappy before you change so they go just before!! Someone did say to me yesterday 'welcome to being a boy mum, getting peed on right in your face and weird erections!!' Haha

madeleine85 · 21/04/2022 17:44

@stimpyyouidiot that is great advice! Definitely going to try that (if I remember). When I told my boy mum friends we were having a boy, they laughed, so i'm guessing there is plenty of fun to come :)

nearly8 · 21/04/2022 17:48

Hi guys - sorry haven't been on the past couple of days - more work more night shifts! That's why I'm sometimes on here at stupid o clock!

Firstly I too am not enjoying the new layout - at all!! I don't like it when changes are made that seem to make things go backwards.

Also hairy bellies.... Never experienced it in any of my pregnancies but it start me thinking - I wonder if it's the bodies way of trying to help regulate belly temperature for the baby? Haven't researched it yet but just a general wonder. I think I have more than enough belly fat on mine laugh

@Em85kk @annlee3817 @LaddieCthulu I've always taken 'massive' comments as a direct comment about the bump and not necessarily 'body size'. I wouldn't take anyone's comments to heart anyway - regardless of how much weight you do or don't put on you are growing a mini miracle and you should feel nothing but pride and happiness all the way.

@TotoAnnihiliation sorry to hear about your UTI - glad you've got the right treatment and I hope you feel better soon x

@HaresHoping congrats on your scan! lovely to hear all is well.

@stimpyyouidiot congrats on your scan too - urgh male sonographers. I always request not to have one. Had one once and it just made me feel uncomfortable. I prefer having female sonographers and always say so - Speak up if you feel the same - that goes for all of you ladies. Don't feel bad for requesting your wishes. It does not make you a bad person or uncooperative. They always encourage you to write a birth plan and your wishes - what about your wishes antenatally as well???!!!!

@YouPutTheScrewInTheTuna WOW! twins. I've always secretly wanted twins. Congratulations on your double joy. Enjoy every second!!

Sorry if I missed anyone else - I find it hard to catch up with everything! In terms of how I'm feeling right now I would say I'm actually quite good. Still fully mobile and able to see my feet (just) and tie my shoes. As I say my bump is pretty huge (think 7months) so probably won't be long before I'm showcasing my fully tried and tested waddle!!

To all of you who have had your 20week scan congrats!! To all of us still waiting not long now, I think we're going to be busy around 27/04 as I'm sure there's at least 3 of us on that day (me included YAY).

Keep smiling ladies and enjoy the sunshine!!

nearly8 · 21/04/2022 17:52

@madeleine85 @stimpyyouidiot seriously it does not matter WHAT you do - your boy will pee on you at least once a week. My son was a nightmare for it. Tried the wet wipe - it's got about 1 70/30 chance of working in the wrong favour lol. I would leave the dirty nappy under him until I was ready for the swiftest nappy change ever but he always managed to get me. Just be conscious of making sure you wipe right around and in the creases of the 'sack' and its contents if you get my meaning. It's wayyyy more fiddly than girls but you get used to it.

nearly8 · 21/04/2022 17:58

@PrettyTulip @annlee3817 I thought I'd replied to this but can't see it anywhere....

If I remember rightly they bought in the childs blood type test around 2019 - I don't remember it with my first 4 but my last 3 they have been able to test it. I'm rh- and amazingly have never developed any antibodies against the babies but still had to have anti-d each time. I think they're slowly switching to not giving it if there's no antibodies but I've still had it each time regardless. All of my babies have had A+ - it's become a bit of a joke with me and the midwives. I keep betting them that baby will be A+ (I'm A- and DH is A+) and then smugly drop the letter on their desk when it inevitably comes back A+ lol. Either way it's much more convenient that having to wait til after baby is born.

stimpyyouidiot · 21/04/2022 18:03

Thanks @nearly8 ! Honestly didn't even think about it, hadn't had a male one before and didn't realise it would be an option as only seen women there haha. I may say it next time.

Tbf my dd used to wee right off the mat (we had a changing table so it had a way to fall haha) so I fully expect it everywhere hahaha

annlee3817 · 21/04/2022 19:38

@nearly8 yeah they don't do it here, just give the anti D as standard, I'm also A-, no idea what DH is, but DD is O+ I think :) hope it goes quickly between now and your scan date, not long now

Em85kk · 21/04/2022 20:06

@annlee3817 yeah 3 stone for me 😫 @nearly8 i think it’s just something people say isn’t it? Like a greeting, you don’t get hi how are you just oh wow you’re huge 😂

Oh great, I’ll look forward to being pee’d on weekly then! I just don’t feel at all prepared for being a boy mum. Keep the tips coming guys.

PrettyTulip · 21/04/2022 20:29

@nearly8 same blood groups as me and my DH too 😊

TotoAnnihiliation · 21/04/2022 21:08

I'm A- too! I'm not looking forward to my anti D injection.

PrettyTulip · 22/04/2022 01:47

@TotoAnnihiliation have you deffo got to have it then?
I'm sure my midwife said that my blood test was to check the blood test was to check if I'd need the injection or not
(It will be just my luck that baby is +)

Belle2210 · 22/04/2022 08:08

20 week scan yesterday went good although not great. Bean is very comfy in there still transverse and laying with legs crossed like dad does on the sofa 🤣. I'm back for a second scan on Wednesday for a certain view of the heart they couldn't get and a face profile but everything is great that has been checked.

My anterior placenta is still low and covering my cervix so another scan at 32 weeks to check that too. Reading the complications is a bit scary but will deal with things as we need to. I also took a strange fainting/sicky spell while getting scanned where I had to stop for bit. Said it could be from lying on my back. So constipated right now though that a scanner pushing about there was so uncomfortable. Been really painful the past few days so I'm phoning the doctors again and not taking no for an answer for a laxative. Happy days 😂

Hope everyone else's scan from yesterday went well 😊

Peauela · 22/04/2022 10:25

@Sweetbabydust1989 Yes my round ligament pain is on my left side and won't go away... it only eases when I sit down but sometimes I can't walk 😅 midwife said it's normal and I can take paracetamol to ease the pain.

@YouPutTheScrewInTheTuna welcome! Twins! So exciting and also challenging! 😂 is this your first pregnancy?

@stimpyyouidiot ahh great news! Congrats!

@annlee3817 omg I would have smacked her face with my hormones making me a bit nuts recently haha 🤣

@TotoAnnihiliation I had to uninstall the app and come back because nothing was working for me!

Anyway, for me the tiredness is creeping back in a little, my feet are swelling at work because I sit down all day and by Friday evening they are huge 😂 and the round ligament pain is something that took me by surprise and I was even crying one day thinking baby girl can feel my pain too 🥲 ahh the hormones!

TotoAnnihiliation · 22/04/2022 10:31

@PrettyTulip I had to have the anti d injection at 28 weeks last time, the just after DD was born because she was positive. I've been booked on for another one at 28 weeks for this pregnancy. As far as I know, I have to have it.

@Peauela I'll deleting and reinstalling the app - thank you for the tip,

My uti is feeling better but my covid symptoms aren't. My chest hurts now. I'm so fed up of this!

Sweetbabydust1989 · 22/04/2022 10:40

@Peauela mine has eased off finally well touch wood (banging my head as I type this) 😂😂 I am starting to feel more positive now since I had that scan on Monday I just wish I could feel baby move dam anterior placenta 🙈 fingers crossed it won't be long until I feel baby bashing my insides I won't complain promise 😂 I still cannot refer to baby as a girl yet it feels rather strange I think once I get my 20 week scan out the way and they confirm for the third time I will finally relax I think after 2 boys it doesn't feel real to have girl lol.. how are you doing?? Xx

Peauela · 22/04/2022 11:00

@Sweetbabydust1989 we keep calling baby girl "bean" even though I do feel a better connection with her since we found out she's a girl! I don't know where my placenta is but no movement for me either but I know she's twirling around as she showed us her every side on the scan last week 😂 how far along are you? I'm 18+2 and my anatomy scan isn't until the 13th May, I'll be 21 weeks then!

Sweetbabydust1989 · 22/04/2022 11:06

@Peauela I call mine little gremlin due to the constant sickness I have had 😂😂 oh it does feel weird my boys refer to her as their sister I think I will once I get the 20 week scan done which isn't until may 😩🙈 I am 18 week 4 days but having my scan at 21 weeks 1 day feels like forever but will go quickly. This is my third anterior placenta so will not feel loads for another couple of weeks yet. Scans are lovely arent they I have had so many this is the most scanned baby out of my children 😂 xx

LittlemissMama67 · 22/04/2022 11:13

I know the date I’ll give birth received the letter for my planned section already 🤭🤭🤭

TurquoiseDreamCatcher · 22/04/2022 11:18

Hi ladies, it's Toto. I deleted the app and re added it and my old user name and password had stopped working 🤦🏼‍♀️

Peauela · 22/04/2022 11:56

@TurquoiseDreamCatcher Haha welcome back!

@Sweetbabydust1989 ahhh i love the gremlin nickname 😂

Goodgoodthings · 22/04/2022 12:31

Hi everyone, I've been awol as so many app troubles but seem to have my watching list back today!

Anyway so lovely seeing all the scans coming up, I've got 2 weeks today until my 20 week scan and really looking forward to it as I'm still not really feeling any movements at 18 weeks.

Getting lots of "massive" comments too which sting even though they're not meant to. I'm 6 foot and have had disordered eating in the past so it's hard to brush them off even though I know I've got to. It's nice to know that other people struggle with this in a weird way and I'm not alone in my wobbles about weight!

Great news @LittlemissMama67, may I ask if you're in the UK? Curious to know when I might get my date as I'm also having an elective this time.

Celyn22 · 22/04/2022 12:32

Hey everyone... ah what a frustrating few days with the 'add post' box missing! So I've been wanting to reply but unable to. Till now! I've downloaded the app rather than using the browser page from my phone.

@PrettyTulip I am also negative blood type but my midwife had never heard of the test to test baby’s blood type till I told her about it. She says it will be tested from the umbilical cord after birth. Are you with the NHS or private? I’d really like to have that test done if I can!

@TotoAnnihilation I’ve joined you in the feeling-rough-club! The past 36 hours I’ve been coughing (mostly dry cough) and today I’ve been sneezing loads. In bed again resting now but feeling frustrated at not being able to do much. Feeling a bit bad at baba enduring my high temperature - although I’ve decided it’s early training for him, for time in humid countries when he is older..! Hehe

Thank you all for sharing your pee-in-the-face stories! They made me and my partner laugh out loud! We are expecting our first child, and he's a boy! I'm trusting I'll be able to keep a sense of humour about golden showers even when I'm exhausted! Grin

Yes I’m in the UK I had a phone call about 1 or 2 weeks ago from a midwife asking if I’d made a decision I said yes I’d like a section and explained my reasons for that and I reveived the letter this morning at exactly 18 weeks

Goodgoodthings · 22/04/2022 13:28

@LittlemissMama67 oh wow that's brilliant! I will wait and see in that case - no phone calls just yet but they have confirmed c-section is their and my preferred option given my last birth. I'm exactly 18 weeks today as well, snap! Where is the time going??

Do you mind me asking how early they have planned your section? I've no idea what to expect - presumably 1/2 weeks?

LittlemissMama67 · 22/04/2022 13:39

Exactly 39 weeks, mine is due to my last birth being an emergency section after a failed induction, absent movement last time and having low pap-a which I have again this time
