Lovely catching up and reading all of the updates on here! So many 20 week scans coming in now, so glad they've all gone well! Mine not until next Friday! Wish it was sooner. Starting to feel nervous for the scan now and just hope everything is ok. I can definitely feel baby wriggling a lot more now (I'm 19 weeks) which is lovely and reassuring. I started to watch some 'one born every minute' last night out of curiosity, not sure if that was a good idea or not 😂 but I had to keep watching! It really is a miracle how it all happens.
I'm glad a few people have mentioned a hairy belly as I've definitely noticed that this week!! Glad to know it seems normal amongst us. So glad we have this thread to see how everyone is feeling etc. good luck with the scans today!

stimpyyouidiot · 21/04/2022 09:32

I always found one born every minute a bit anxiety creating! Lots of inductions and laying on their back to give birth etc. I watched the Yorkshire midwife last night (2 episodes so far) and it was soooo reassuring @Redapple21

Redapple21 · 21/04/2022 09:33

@stimpyyouidiot oooh ok I will definitely give this a watch! Thank you!

annlee3817 · 21/04/2022 09:36

@stimpyyouidiot not heard of that one, might pop it on today in the background

@PrettyTulip didn't know they could test the babies blood at this stage, with my DD they tested when she was born and she was positive so I had to have another injection and they'll do the same this time

stimpyyouidiot · 21/04/2022 10:14

Anyone got any boy mum tips??? I only know girls!!

annlee3817 · 21/04/2022 11:19

One of the school mum's said to me last night when dropping my DD back home "Wow, you actually look massive now" you'd think other mums would know not to say stuff like that 🙄

LaddieCthulu · 21/04/2022 11:47

However she might have meant that, i would not be too pleased to have someone say that either! I remember working in an office some years ago with a colleague who was heavily pregnant and had also gained a lot of weight, and people just made comments all the time... "Are you sire its not twins". But just like they thought they were entitled to. They were not even trying to be nasty... It was quite mindless. It does seem that people feel they have the right to comment on body size because you're pregnant!

IzzyLeigh · 21/04/2022 11:52

Catching up!
Welcome @YouPutTheScrewInTheTuna ! Twins! So exciting!

@Chlox16 congrats on the scan!

@stimpyyouidiot ahh! Congrats on the scan and the news of your little boy! Sorry about the jerk of a sonographer though. Hopefully you don’t ever have to deal with him again

@HaresHoping and @Belle2210 good luck on your scans today, ladies!

@Merryclaire I’m loving how many of you had successful scans yesterday! Congrats!

Do you know I thought I recognised your name @PrettyTulip sorry! 🙈

Good luck this afternoon @Belle2210 hope it's all ok 🤞🏻 I'm sure it will be!

Our scan went well today, was so amazing to just be able to enjoy it for the first time! He is a wriggler and made it difficult for the sonographer. We saw his little tiny toes, and he was drinking a lot at one point too. Feel a bit bewildered now, like - we're actually going to have a baby, my god 😂

IzzyLeigh · 21/04/2022 12:58

aw congrats @HaresHoping! Lovely scan photo as well! I can only imagine how weird it must be to see the drinking! I haven't seen it yet but I have a feeling I probably will when I go next week. Can't wait to get that "omg it's actually happening" feeling too!

PrettyTulip · 21/04/2022 13:05

@annlee3817 apparently so! I'm booked in next week to have my blood taken and apparently they check the platelets or something like that to find out baby's blood group. Quite clever really!

annlee3817 · 21/04/2022 13:12

@PrettyTulip that's really good :)

@HaresHoping glad the scan went well :)

@LaddieCthulu it's annoying isn't it, can see me getting quite stroppy at people who feel the need to comment

TotoAnnihiliation · 21/04/2022 13:34

Hi ladies, just catching up. I finding the site update hard to deal with 😳

Congratulations on the scans!

I've been given antibiotics for my uti. My doctor was super sympathetic and even gave me a prescription of thrush medicine just incase the antibiotics cause a yeast infection.

IzzyLeigh · 21/04/2022 13:38

@TotoAnnihiliation glad your uti is being treated and I hope you start feeling better soon! and totally agree about the update. I'm mainly on here on my computer and I am really not into the layout. Seems much less user-friendly. The app all weird now too?

OP posts:
TotoAnnihiliation · 21/04/2022 13:43

@IzzyLeigh I only use the app on my phone and I can't bookmark threads anymore. All the stuff in active chat is really old and doesn't refresh. It's frustrating as I could do with just mindlessly scrolling whilst I feel poorly.

When I was pregnant with DD, I had a uti which the doctors refused to treat. I was in agony. It makes a difference this time having a doctor who was so sympathetic and prepared to help.

HaresHoping · 21/04/2022 13:48

Ah that's good news @TotoAnnihiliation thank goodness! You deserve a bit of luck bless you.

My app is also a nightmare and I'm struggling to keep up 😂 I'm also getting notifications every few minutes which I never had before?

Thanks everyone for your lovely well wishes ☺️

IzzyLeigh · 21/04/2022 14:14

and now the layout is put back to almost what it was before! Is it fixed for you guys too? Maybe they just needed to work some kinks out?

OP posts:
IzzyLeigh · 21/04/2022 14:16

oh yay! And now I can use all the normal emojis too!

OP posts:
Em85kk · 21/04/2022 14:42

I’m not bothered about the being massive comments, probably because I’ve said them to others before! I don’t know I just don’t see it as an insult, maybe it depends who says it? As long as they’re referring to the bump it’s more like an achievement, you’re growing and it’s bringing you closer to the day your baby is here.

stimpyyouidiot · 21/04/2022 14:51

All my bookmarks are being lost so I keep having to figure out where I left off haha

annlee3817 · 21/04/2022 16:19

I don't have the app, just use it through Google Chrome on my phone, so no issues really

@Em85kk I'm sensitive about weight, which is why the massive comments get to me, it's quite triggering.

Glad you've got medicine for the UTI @TotoAnnihiliation

madeleine85 · 21/04/2022 16:31

@TotoAnnihiliation glad you got the meds, and hoping you feel better ASAP!

The new layout is horrendous. Every time the new notifications take me to the very start of the thread and i have to find my place etc. Hope they fix it/put it back!

@stimpyyouidiot also have one girl with a boy on the way. I've heard changing nappies is a bit of a "how fast can you get it on without being peed on" game. That's going to go well when we are exhausted :). I had an old colleague that used the weird hat things that you could put on their little bits so that if you were changing them the pee didn't hit you (a pee pee teepee?) but apart from that i'm clueless. Also a bit weirded out by little errections they supposedly get at random times, but that is just vascular and there is nothing to be done about that. On the other hand supposedly baby girls can get mini bleeds from our hormones, but fortunately didn't have to deal with that, as tbh I would likely panic if I saw that!

Em85kk · 21/04/2022 16:34

@annlee3817 aww I know, I didn’t mean to be dismissive. I’ve struggled loads with my weight since putting a lot on with my first and not losing it after. It’s hard not feeling like yourself and going through the massive life change of having a baby for the first time. This time I know I’m going to get even bigger and I guess you just have to accept it. Maybe I’m just having a good day, next week I’ll probably be anxious about it!

annlee3817 · 21/04/2022 16:37

@Em85kk didn't think you were being dismissive at all :) I put on four stone last time 🙈 it's great that you have a more positive outlook on it

HaresHoping · 21/04/2022 16:41

@stimpyyouidiot
