@MummyToBe2022 I feel your pain I have a 9 & 11 year old so I am Starting from the beginning again and so much has changed I don't remember this cribs being out when I had my last one. I am liking the snuz pod sorry trying to take my mind off the crash so shopping instead lol xx

MummyToBe2022 · 15/05/2022 19:08

@Sweetbabydust1989 we have children at similar ages. I have a 12 and 9 year old.

It's good to keep your mind off it. Hope you're feeling better. Trying to keep up with all comments but this thread is crazy.

I've just purchased a second hand Moses basket so that's 2 things off my never ending list.

Hope baby girl is still moving nicely for you. It's a lovely feeling isn't it x

HaresHoping · 15/05/2022 21:13

Ooh exciting to read about cribs and things being purchased! We are borrowing a next2me from a friend. What pram / travel system is everyone going for? I find that stuff so baffling... so much to choose from!

I fell in love with an Ickle bubba pram (I HATE the brand name though, so twee) - it was so gorgeous I had to have it.

Butterflytulip · 15/05/2022 21:43

This thread moves so quick it's difficult to keep up!!
I bought a snuz pod last time round, it's fab and has the incline possible for relfux.
Re. Prams buy one that can convert to double!! I thought I'd only have 1 baby so spend £1000 on a really good pram!! Now with number 2 on the way I can't convert the pram to double!!! We are buying the standing board thingy for my toddler rather than buying a new pram but wish i had of thought it through!!

Butterflytulip · 15/05/2022 21:44

Can't believe I'm almost 24 weeks!!
Good luck to all of those having scans this week xx

stimpyyouidiot · 15/05/2022 21:46

@Butterflytulip we've ended up buying new because we got rid of all dds stuff years ago (she's 4). Didn't think there would be more either!

Butterflytulip · 15/05/2022 21:48

Aww @stimpyyouidiot it's good fun though buying again. I don't need anything! I think if little one is another girl I'll still buy new clothes! Just to buy something 😂😂

Sweetbabydust1989 · 15/05/2022 22:11

@MummyToBe2022 yeah I feel loads better now not worrying as much even though I can't really do much with my arm atm but my kids are really helping out.. I don't really have anyone to borrow off so buying it either new or off those selling sites. My little lady is on one tonight she hasn't stopped moving it's great as I never had this with my boys they were so lazy xx

Sweetbabydust1989 · 15/05/2022 22:13

@Butterflytulip that's why I am getting it my second son had awful reflux so thought I would be prepared getting a baby swing too as that really helped. I like the snuzpod it seems great and I can sell it afterwards xx

Sweetbabydust1989 · 15/05/2022 22:16

@HaresHoping I am getting a bugaboo bee6 only because it's nice a small I don't need a huge buggy and I have had bugaboo before I had the donkey when my boys were little but as I no this will 100% be my last I wanted something small and I don't need to purchase the optional carrycot as I can just buy the cocoon xx

Butterflytulip · 15/05/2022 22:25

@Sweetbabydust1989 the snuz pod seems to hold its value too for re sale. The mattresses aren't too expensive to buy. I'll have to get a new one for baby.

I got the bugaboo fox 2 pram. Fab for single child but as mentioned before it doesn't allow for baby and toddler. I was gutted at fist but my toddler hates the pram anyway!! Hoping it'll not matter as I'm not buying another pram!!! Maybe cheap double buggy for holidays ..

Em85kk · 15/05/2022 22:38

I think this time round I just want stuff that will make everything easier! We have an egg pram but it’s so heavy I struggled lifting it in and out of car as I had problems with my hips for ages after. I ended up getting a City mini gt as the fold was so easy. I want something lighter, hoping to have a look at the bugaboo fox 2, or maybe a light mamas and papas one. It’s all about convenience!

Sweetbabydust1989 · 15/05/2022 22:39

@Butterflytulip oh definitely I opted for the donkey as my boys were 22 months apart in age and I could convert the donkey into the mono mode but this time round I wanted something smaller and the bee6 was the one I liked the most more particle for me and I will be using a maxi cosi car seat for doing school runs with my youngest.. I found the bugaboo does hold value too I sold my donkey complete set and managed to get a nice amount back especially after it being in my cupboard a year or so after finishing using it.. I have ordered the snuz pod so excited I got the rose white one xx

Sweetbabydust1989 · 15/05/2022 22:41

@Em85kk definitely this is my third so I guess I am more experienced on what stuff is a waste and which isn't last time I brought everything on the mother care list and never used half of it 😂 I am getting the bee6 I don't need a carry cot I can just use the cocoon instead xx

amorningperson · 15/05/2022 23:08

Oooh so fun to hear what people have been buying/looking at it. @stimpyyouidiot the name is really twee it made me laugh 😂 but had a look at you’re right it’s a beaut. I’ve got a city mini GT from DC1 which is perfect in Glasgow as it’s city compatible but also can deal with a lot of cobbles 😂

if anyone is keen to share their shopping list would love to see! My most used things last time were: buggy and car seat, baby carrier (I got an ergo one second hand) and sling for first 3 months), breast pump and bottles (I boiled the bottles to sterilise), next2me cot, soft floor mat for tummy time and just to put baby down baby on and to lie on myself with baby, also used as a change pad when needed, change pouch (so I would just put that into my backpack and it worked really well as it had its dividers and pockets so I didn’t need a fiddly expensive change bag), baby thermometer, baby bath, vests, sleep suits, little jumpers and leggings and lots ans lots of socks (they lose them constantly), snot sucker. That’s about it 😂
size wise my 9lb son got into newborn size for about three days and that was it 😂

Anyone closer to having and idea on birth. I’m about 99% set on a home birth, and I’m white looking forward to it (if that makes sense).

Sweetbabydust1989 · 15/05/2022 23:12

@amorningperson sounds like you're all sorted lovely lol I have mine all listed out just doing it bit by bit.. I am having a hospital birth iam high risk and there is a chance she will be back to back like my second baby was so my consultant has advised an early epidural never had pain relief with my boys so that will be all new to me xx

annlee3817 · 16/05/2022 05:26

Also starting pretty much from scratch, as seven years since we had DD and were adamant she'd be the only one lol

We sold or gave away everything, sold our ergobaby carrier only last year 🤦 bought one recently on Vinted. Also gutted we got rid of our buggy, will buy the same one, out n about nipper.

We've got a cot bed as my friends were just about to get rid of the one we gave to them, and they're giving us their car seats too.

Bought a next to me crib off of FB. A friend has given us a Moses basket to use downstairs. Just need a another out n about buggy and a monitor, so we're getting there.

Clothes wise we've got lots of new borns and some 0-3, but again a friend is giving us a load of girls stuff as she's about to have a boy and doesn't need it.

MummyToBe2022 · 16/05/2022 05:50

@HaresHoping we've been looking at the mamas and papas ocarro travel system.

We live near a forest so needing all terrain wheels.

I can't believe how fast it is going and desperat to get sorted now so I can then relax a bit.

Luckily I work in a school and my pregnancy has fell just right for me to have the summer holidays off before starting my maternity leave.

@amorningperson I'm having a hospital birth, just normal as I'd love a water birth but not allowed due to my epilepsy, also not allowed a home birth because of that.

Goodgoodthings · 16/05/2022 06:50

Morning ladies hope everyone's okay? I'm off work this week as it's my birthday tomorrow and I told myself I'd tackle some bits to feel more organised but now it's here I'm still not feeling it? We've got lots of the big things from my little girl who is nearly 2 but I'd quite like to get cracking with some clothes bits (we donated a lot) and ideas for the new baby's room. Pram wise we had the Oyster 3 and really liked it - was great for tall people and pretty robust. We also used a sling/carrier for walks in the woods and switched to a Babyzen yoyo when our dd got a bit bigger - folds up SO small we love it. Think my plan is to carry on with DH in the yoyo to begin with (when she will!) and baby in a sling but we'll see.

Birth wise I know I'm having a planned csection this time after an emergency one last time. I have waves of feeling happier and less so about this! Really envy the home birth plans but know that I can't do that now as too high risk and I think this route is better for my mental health. Still waiting on dates but think they'll deliver at 38/39 which I'm pleased about as DD was 9lbs7oz at 40+4 😬

Peauela · 16/05/2022 06:52

@HaresHoping we ordered Uppababy Vista V2, Maxi Cosi Pebble 360 for car seat and planning to get the snuzpod for bedside crib :)

In terms of clothing, I mainly bought 0-3 sleepsuits, maybe two outfits and a few newborn sleepsuits. That's it for now 😅 I definitely will need more 😅

Feel like my belly has finally popped so I can insert a pic here (apologies for dirty mirror lol)

Due September 2022 (Thread 6!)
stimpyyouidiot · 16/05/2022 06:58

@amorningperson if all goes well I'll be at home. Hoping this baby doesn't throw any hurdles up like being breech or whatever lol. Once I get referred to the home birth team at 28 weeks I'll order a pool.

Em85kk · 16/05/2022 07:24

We have a maxi cosi pebble that I plan to reuse. I feel like I just need to get everything out so I can check it! Don’t want to leave it last minute and then find it’s falling apart or something. We had mam bottles and dummies, but will get new of these. I’ve got an ergo carrier too, which was quite good but my husband used it more than me (stupid hips!).

Birth will be in hospital as I’m high risk, wasn’t allowed water birth last time so imagine it will be the same due to risk of bleeding (low platelets). I will take more to hospital though! I don’t even think I took a blanket or hat for baby last time. I’ve seen some labelled bags you can get to keep things separate so might do my own version of these.

TurquoiseDreamCatcher · 16/05/2022 07:32

We have a maxi cosi mura, which was old when we bought it second hand for DD 5 years ago. We need to get it out to check it's ok. We bought a car seat that was compatible with it which we will reuse.

I'm missing coffee this morning, I have agreed to do a supply shift - I'm not particularly looking forward to it, I've never taught without caffeine 😬

Sweetbabydust1989 · 16/05/2022 12:31

Iam getting the maxi cosi pebble as it slots on the bugaboo with an adapter it seems to be the slimmest I have found I hate bulky seats xx
