@madeleine85 is it bad that I'm actually sort of stunned that they only changed your insurance $8k last time? What with my home infusions, scans, and pregnancy doctor appts, I've already spent exactly $5,468.26 out-of-pocket since January. Thankfully, my max out-of-pocket is $7,150 this year, so I only have another $1,680.74 to go until everything is "free." By the time I'm ready to give birth, I should be in and out of there without having to spend anything on top of the $7,150 I will have already spent this year! Isn't it weird how I'm celebrating that? Because then I look at how it is in the rest of the world and I'm like, man, I'm constantly being ripped off. This sucks haha

Honestly, it's a little better this year than last year though. Last year I was on a different brand of medicine for my infusions (I get them every 6 weeks), and each time the pharmacy charged my insurance a whopping $6,516.42. And that was just for the meds. Not even the infusion or the nurse who needed to administer it or any of the other medical supplies to do that. How crazy is that? This year the drugs are only about $4,500 (switched to generic).

@Sweetbabydust1989 no not at all lovely I love all things baby!! Yeah everyone is mega excited esp our DS1 who is 12 now. He cried last year when it was yet another girl bless him. He's got one older and 5 younger sisters for his sins lol. And yes I had back to back last time which was VBAC after emergency CSec the year previous. I've never known pain like it! Most of the pain was actually in my CSec scar which was the strangest feeling ever! The midwife never even told me she was back to back til AFTER I had given birth! My DH was like 'did it really hurt that much you still didn't make a noise rolleyes tbf I do have a particularly high pain threshold and don't really want much when in labour, just bite down and get on with it is my motto. URGH sickness is the worst. I usually try and hold it down as i really really really hate being sick. My DH will sit there like will you PLEASE just throw up but I just hate it. I'm sorry to hear about your struggles previous but 20weeks is a huge landmark so keep smiling and book in as many other scans as you feel you need to ease that anxiety so you can enjoy your pregnancy x

Sweetbabydust1989 · 18/04/2022 23:00

@nearly8 thanks lovely oh I knew he was back to back it was picked up with my last scan I was like no wonder I am in so much pain my back was bad for week after. I never had pain relief with my boys never had the time and with my last boy I was having a water birth so wasn't allowed anything but gas and air I kinda didn't wanna be too drugged up to the point of an over night stay I wanted to get home I had a 5 night stay with my first as he was so small.. oh my boys are so happy a girl is icy on the cake for a very crap time. Oh yes 20 weeks is definitely a landmark is amazing he is like go for one a month If you need to lol xx

Sweetbabydust1989 · 18/04/2022 23:02

Thank you so much everyone, the scan really did reassure me. Roll on 27th April for the 20w scan.... the next hurdle.

@ShiningStarz I got a photo of the girl bits, the sonographer said it's her labia... to me I couldn't really see it but he said it was clear. Baby was still so he managed to capture it, I can post it if it won't offend.

annlee3817 · 19/04/2022 06:48

Trying to catch up

@izzyleigh definitely sounds like movements

Congratulations @SoOverThisCrap 🙌

And to you @Carebear99 also glad you got the confirmation that the NIPT was accurate :)

@totoannihiliation glad you're feeling a bit better

@nearly8 just the one, but she arrived at 40+5 and was 7lbs 10 Oz, this one will be induced at around 39 weeks, so I imagine weight won't be much different

@Easymeasy welcome and congrats

@EverydayIsPJday my first was meant to be my last lol, but this one definitely will be with myself and DH turning 41 this year :)

@Sweetbabydust1989 hope the scan goes well on Wednesday, I started picking up bits a few weeks ago and some a little earlier, but had the NIPT so made it easier, have got a fair bit of gender neutral though, just because I prefer it :) was the back to back due to anterior placenta? I read that this was a possibility, I was posterior last time and had a really straightforward quick labour, so felt a little uneasy when I read that anterior leads to back to back

Peauela · 19/04/2022 07:03

@Sweetbabydust1989 we've had NIPT so we know it's a girl but at the last scan she confirmed by showing us literally just three lines being her private parts 😂 I wouldn't be able to tell by your scans to be honest but I'm sure they know what they're talking about!

Ahh I'm so jealous about your 20 w scans coming in so soon! I'm only 18 weeks tomorrow and the scan isn't until the 13th May 😫

HaresHoping · 19/04/2022 07:37

@nearly8 that is such good advice! You're totally right. Thank you 🥰 I'm going to try to do that x

Sweetbabydust1989 · 19/04/2022 08:08

@Peauela mine isn't until 10th May so having mine done at 21 weeks due to app issues on their side x

Belle2210 · 19/04/2022 08:10

Quick jump on to keep the thread. Saturday night to this morning... What pains between my hips being sore and constant sore stomach/lower back ache from constipation. Thankfully better this morning 🙌. 20 week scan on Thursday 🥳
Glad everyone's doing fine!

Sweetbabydust1989 · 19/04/2022 08:11

@annlee3817 yes my back to back labour was due to that placenta being at the front not going to lie it did make my labour hurt more but you kinda get on with it as they say. I seem to always have those placentas being at the front so makes me panic about not feeling much. I noticed that my son was back to back for quite sometime during my pregnancy. Oh lucky you i didn't have that I just had a sexing scan as my boys were desperate to know x

Peauela · 19/04/2022 08:32

@Sweetbabydust1989 well technically I'll be 21 weeks on mine too :)

surprised12 · 19/04/2022 08:41

.

ShiningStarz · 19/04/2022 08:56

@Carebear99 oh no don't worry. Your better keeping those scans private to yourself.
Iv read about the 3 line theory being a girl! I will be looking out for any clues during my scan but will probably be clueless!!!

My 20 week scan is tomorrow ! Can't come soon enough!! Feeling big now!! Went clothes shopping yesterday and thought I could fit into normal tops maybe slightly bigger size but nope! My bump is definitely bigger this time around so I went to h&m and got couple maternity tops and black skinny jeans/leggings that are smart enough for work.

ShiningStarz · 19/04/2022 09:22

Also this sinus pain is doing my head in !!!! Arghhh I pretty much work on laptop al day for work and it's so uncomfortable. Anyone found anything that helps? Would love 10 Sudafed tablets right now and a load of olbas oil 😂😂

Chlox16 · 19/04/2022 09:42

Just jumping on the new thread Easter Smile

Carebear99 · 19/04/2022 10:08

@Sweetbabydust1989 I was told a girl too, sonographer pointed out the vulva of the baby (couldn't see it myself but he had a good view of that area and I couldn't see any dangly bits). I have no idea how they read scans, so hard to see anything.

annlee3817 · 19/04/2022 10:12

@ShiningStarz I highly recommend Menthol Crystals, you only need a couple of crystals in hot water, it reduces the swelling that causes sinus pain, at as really good when I had a sinus infection and I used it for covid

GlitteryGreen · 19/04/2022 11:50

Hey all, jumping on here :)

20 week scan is next week for me, wishing the days away at the moment as what I assume is movement is so intermittent. In a way I'm dreading when it becomes more regular because I'll probably be stressing every day that it's not enough.

ShiningStarz · 19/04/2022 11:53

@annlee3817 thank you soo much, off to get some of those later. Wasn't sure what was allowed.

@GlitteryGreen I was like that in my last pregnancy, to be honest you'll feel quite a bit of movement usually at rest. Orange juice and lying on side generally leads to movement. When I rang the emergency clinic cause I was concerned they always said juice and lie in side and call back within 30 mins if nothing and every time I felt something so knew all was fine 😊

IzzyLeigh · 19/04/2022 12:17

@ShiningStarz oh interesting about the lying on the side bit! Did they specify if left was better than right or anything?

OP posts:
annlee3817 · 19/04/2022 12:40

@IzzyLeigh I only lay on my left side, but generally do feel more movements when I am on my side

ShiningStarz · 19/04/2022 13:20

@IzzyLeigh they did specify but honestly can't remember !!

IzzyLeigh · 19/04/2022 13:25

@ShiningStarz I'm assuming maybe left since that's what they recommend for sleeping? More blood flow to the baby = more movement? Once we're all having regular movement, we should do an experiment and see if lying on a particular side for a short period of time makes any difference over the other!

Has anyone been developing linea nigra yet? If so, when did you first see it and where? I thiiiink maybe I'm developing it, but it's super faint and down really low (completely pubic region and only there).
For those who have had it before, does it tend to develop kind of all at once or does it spread? Like, for me, do you think it'll stay where I'm seeing it now or will it maybe start growing upwards in the days/weeks to come?
