@Sweetbabydust1989 and all others with scans this week, congratulations!!! Such lovely news.

I know there’s me and a few others that are very late august DD now, but finally reached week 24 today and it feels like a milestone! Baby is apparently the size of a small melon and is 1.3lbs. Not sure why, but it feels very good that we’re around the viability mark, hope some others are feeling the same. Little guy is killing me with heartburn though, wondering if that means his hair is coming in? My DD finally seems ready for daycare today after so long off sick and we’re going to have to battle her in as she’s addicted to the tv and being at home with so much attention. This get ready will be fun today 😂.

@TurquoiseDreamCatcher funnily enough mines been the same! Had a week of great movements and yesterday and today it’s just not the same. My bump feels a bit different though so I think maybe he’s changed position. I have felt some movements, they’re just quite faint again. I’ve also been so busy at work so will try the sweet idea and lying down later.

TurquoiseDreamCatcher · 10/05/2022 16:12

Thank you @annlee3817 and @Butterflytulip I had a drink of orange juice and had a lie down. I felt some wriggling and kicking, I guess she had just moved into a new position:

Great news about your scan @Sweetbabydust1989

It feels like there is always something to worry about! Luckily something sweet and a lie down worked for me. I seem to remember when I was pregnant with DD that some days she would be quiet then the next day she would act like she was at a rave.

Sweetbabydust1989 · 10/05/2022 16:26

Thanks everyone I am so relieved she is our rainbow after a really sucky year last year never thought in a million years we would have her I just thought that would be it after the ectopics... i already have her name picked it was what my one of my sons would of been called I have kept it quite private amongst friends incase it gets taken I have waited 9 years to use it 😂

I find to get my bubs moving a packet of sweets she gets a sugar rush and don't stop I have a anterior placenta as you know so movements can be hard to track but I find once I have stopped being busy and lay down she starts her Zumba lesson inside 😂 it does mess with my reflux tho so I try and keep sweets and chocolate for scans only xx

handbagsandholidays · 10/05/2022 16:27

@GlitteryGreen I'm in a similar boat to you and started at a similar weight. Have gained 2lbs overall but have been very sick throughout. Even thought I haven't really gained, my body has changed shape massively and I just feel huge!!! My face is now round and I hate seeing my own reflection. I had just started my weight loss journey before we found out we were expecting but I've been so sick throughout pregnancy that I've not been able to keep up with any sort of exercise routine. 😔

Rbts1 · 10/05/2022 18:14

Had our 20w scan today, after having to go for a walk and run up a few flights of stairs half way through, managed to get him into a good position and get measurements done, everything apparently fine!
My husband felt him kick for the first time last night too, so a lovely week!

They didn't mention the gender at scan(and I completely forgot to ask!) so we are assuming it's still a boy after a private scan a few weeks ago Grin

annlee3817 · 10/05/2022 19:10

Glad the scan went well @Rbts1 :)

@madeleine85 also 24 weeks, we're going with "is the size of Mr Potato head" purely because it makes DS happy 🤣

Redapple21 · 10/05/2022 20:15

Great news on the scan @Sweetbabydust1989 so glad it all went well!

@TurquoiseDreamCatcher yes same here ...baby was so active at the weekend, I had a lazy day Sunday and it was kicking away!! I thought 'oh great I will feel loads of kicking now' but no ... it's been less since. I'm still feeling kicks every day but definitely not as much as sunday. Maybe because I was lying on the sofa all day!! It does feel like constant worry but good to know we are all feeling the same around now.

madeleine85 · 10/05/2022 20:34

@annlee3817 congrats on officially being 6 months prego! Also, love the mr potato head analogy, it feels smaller too than a melon which makes me feel slightly better :)

annlee3817 · 10/05/2022 20:36

@madeleine85 I don't make, DDs Mr Potato head you was bloody massive 🤣 congrats to you too!

annlee3817 · 10/05/2022 20:37

That was meant to say I don't know

Celyn22 · 10/05/2022 21:11

Hey ladies, I trust you are all well, happy and comfortable!

I had one of those funny comments today when I told a neighbour that we're having a boy. She said "ooh well done" in a way that made me think it's because he's a boy! It made me laugh more than anything but I did feel slightly put out by it.

24 weeks tomorrow too which feels exciting and slightly terrifying as we have quite a lot of domestic preparation to do for bringing a baby in to our lives... it's not long to go now!! Also I can't wait to hold him in my arms... but it would be nice to put him back for a little longer too ;)

madeleine85 · 10/05/2022 21:18

@annlee3817 haha true it has been years since i've looked at one of those guys!

@Celyn22 exciting times! That made me chuckle re your neighbour. Clearly she hasn't had the Henry VIII education that the man makes the sex of the baby/had a weird awkward reaction. Give yourself a pat on the back anyway though! Still, so nice that to be able to tell people now :)

stimpyyouidiot · 10/05/2022 21:28

I was told today 'you look like you're expanding'

Erm... thank you??? Haha

Rbts1 · 10/05/2022 22:38

Has anyone had their due date changed at their 20w scan?! Just realised my EDD is 3 days later on the report...

Celyn22 · 10/05/2022 23:15

@Rbts1 the EDD was written as different on the 20 week scan report but I think that is because of the size of the baby rather than changing the actual date. Let's see what the other ladies say...

Celyn22 · 10/05/2022 23:18

@madeleine85 yes it is so nice to be able to tell people, and we've started telling people his name too, and luckily no funny reactions yet, other than having to repeat it a few times! Congratulations on reaching 24 weeks today too!

amorningperson · 11/05/2022 07:15

Hi everyone!

Sorry I’ve just been completely AWOL, I had a lot of visits from family, work to sort out and generally feeling a bit low.

I know it's a couple pages ago but I really relate to all these bad body image feelings, I’ve actually been doing a body image course to try to rectify this as I really wanted to enjoy this pregnancy this time, and I found it difficult due to bad body image last time to do so. One of the things the course mentions is curating your social media so that you aren’t exposed to all those perfect bump instagrammers… obviously you can’t curate wedding guests or people in the street lol but it’s been a bit of a game changer for me this week I’ve noticed I’m less self conscious and also actually less addicted to social media (I think those images of perfection give me a hit of Dopamine or something….). Otherwise - I’m 100% on board with the post partum weight loss train! I put on 20kg (just over 3stone) in my first pregnancy and I never lost the whole amount (I had a stone left hanging around) and so I’m starting from that point and I am pretty scared that I’ll be putting on another three stone uffffff. I’m not tiny in the first place too so yeah - the thought of having some weight loss buddies post partum is great!

@stimpyyouidiot HOw was the wedding in the end? I agree with what everyone was saying - you seem like a gorgeous person internally. But I also get how bad body image can effect everything and making everything feel really crap in comparison to others, or how you used to look. I've also got weddings on this summer, one of which I'm opting out of as it's a month before baby is due and I just couldn't face my old friends most of whom don't have babies and plenty of time to go to the gym and calorie count :/

Otherwise it’s been lovely to hear about everyones 20 week scan, kicks and genders etc. I've had a lot of kicking since about 18 weeks and I can now see my stomach move (wobble) when the baby kicks, my son was the same very STRONG and a bit mad haha! I’ve started browsing for some cute things in online sales. We already have buggy, carseat, bath etc in a month I’ll start digging that stuff out and washing all the baby clothes (I honestly cannot wait to do this!) We also had our home birth midwife appt last week which is was really nice, and I think I'm convinced. Anyone else have a general birth plan in mind?

Peauela · 11/05/2022 07:51

@Sweetbabydust1989 so happy your scan went well! My anatomy scan is on Friday! I had a doctors appointment yesterday at the hospital and he did a very quick scan, baby was moving as I was waiting and I saw her kicking her legs on the scan lol 😂

I'm 21 weeks today and baby is definitely getting stronger! Sometimes it's a bit creepy 😂 she was very active throughout the day yesterday and then in the evening as I was in bed on my back she literally turned around so quick and strong I got shivers 😂 the second hubby puts his hand on my tummy though she stops 🤣 a bit shy huh

Less than 4 weeks and we're off for our baby moon, I seriously cannot wait and am so ready 😩💕

Butterflytulip · 11/05/2022 08:48

@amorningperson it's so hard isn't it.
I put on 2 stone in my first pregnancy. I also didn't lose much after having my first baby.
This time round I just can't stop eating! I will literally eat every 2 hours and I crave crisps and chocolate everyday. I am trying so hard to stop and just have 3 meals and 2 healthy snacks but my body wants more!! Working from home so barely move all day!! Then in evenings it's collect toddler and get her sorted and by 9pm I'm on sofa half asleep. So much for swimming / walking in evenings.
I also had a c section last time so I was super filled with fluid post section so my legs and feet were double their normal size for 3 weeks, that was tough.
It does get better tho and wev to leant to make them for ourselves too whether for exercise or just time to breath lol

Sweetbabydust1989 · 11/05/2022 10:54

@Peauela thanks so much just had my consultant app and done my birth plan already I won't be having a water birth due to high chance of back to back labour so will be having an early epidural 😬 really scared of that needle in the back business 🙈 I was asked if I was dieting due to how much weight I have lost well hello serve morning sickness for 18 weeks will do that to you 😂 still don't believe baby is a girl even though I have had 2 private lady scanners say it is and then 5 nhs ones from yesterday 😂 I am so eager to buy pink but can't get the nerve to do it 😂 oh how exciting I can't wait to see your post xx

TurquoiseDreamCatcher · 11/05/2022 19:59

Anyone else completely exhausted? I'm struggling to sleep at night, I get too hot and uncomfortable. I'm looking round my house and there is so much to do and I don't have the energy for it.

Belle2210 · 11/05/2022 20:06

@TurquoiseDreamCatcher I have definitely noticed being more tired these past 2 weeks (I'm 23 weeks just now).

Very random question but Belly buttons.... When did yours pop out (if it did) in previous pregancies and did you feel it? Gives me a shiver just thinking about it 😳😂. Still an inny here but lying in bed wondering 😂.

madeleine85 · 11/05/2022 21:13

@TurquoiseDreamCatcher I am absolutely exhausted (24 weeks). I had to take a 20 minute nap at 8pm last night just to be able to function. Hoping our energy comes back a bit!
