@Sweetbabydust1989 i last did a few weeks ago and had pelvic cramps and discharge. It reminded me too much of the early labour from last time so right now I’m saying no, but will see. Drink some water and try relax a wee bit, cramps should subside x

Sweetbabydust1989 · 08/05/2022 16:11

@madeleine85 thanks lovely other half said he would rather not have sex anymore until after baby is born he was like it with my other 2 kids we kinda had a cut off point 😂 kinda gives me a break aswell lol xx

dkedm15 · 08/05/2022 16:45

@stimpyyouidiot completely get this! I'd lost just under 12 stone prior to getting pregnant and wanted ~1.5 stone off but we caught really quickly so I was really paranoid about weight to start with. I've had to put the scales away because it's quite tough seeing them go up again (I'd been maintaining well but past few weeks it's jumped up) and I feel absolutely MASSIVE already so I'm really worried about T3. I also find some days I'll like an outfit then it comes to the occasion and I'm like waaah what was I thinking?! Really hope you've managed to have a nice time at your event xx

@Sweetbabydust1989 we've been at it quite a lot tbh but it's been me massively instigating waaay more than pre pregnancy, idk what's wrong with me atm 🤣 think hubby would be grateful for a break haha xx

stimpyyouidiot · 08/05/2022 16:51

@dkedm15 yeah I had managed to lose about a stone, so I was about 13 and then Christmas came and I pretty much chucked it all back on again and then I was pregnant and felt shit unless I ate. So I really was screwed. I'll just have to go back to what I was doing once baby comes, my brother is getting married next February and I really don't want to look rubbish for that.

Sweetbabydust1989 · 08/05/2022 16:55

@dkedm15 😂😂 my other half always has his little cut off point he gets scared incase he bashes our little gremlins head in I keep explaining it's all cushioned in there 😂😂 cramps have subsided needed to up my water in take slacking today nowhere near the 2L I have been drinking xx

dkedm15 · 08/05/2022 16:58

@stimpyyouidiot sooo similar here (esp with the feeling sick/eating part!) - I got down to 13st 4lb end of November then December hit so I started pregnancy at 13st 10lb. When I weighed last week I was 14st 7lb, mortified it's nearly a stone but my steps and gym have gone down massively since having covid end of March so I think it's a combination of that and a week in USA over Easter. Trying to get back into my gym routine and have managed 3 workouts this week.

We just need to think that we've been at 13 before, we can definitely get back to it once babies have arrived nice and safely, then look at the last 1.5stone when we're back to pre preg weight (can do it together if you want!) xx

dkedm15 · 08/05/2022 17:02

@Sweetbabydust1989 haaa, this is our first so hubby hasn't thought of that (yet! I have no doubt he'll come to that same thought at some point, think it's a universal man thing 🤣). I had spotting after sex up until about 9 weeks so were very cautious, but luckily been fine since then. Really glad your cramps have subsided!! Water is a godsend isn't it - I've been having 2x 1.5l bottles a day so it helps me keep track of where I'm up to (don't have brews or anything else, never been a brew fan) xx

Sweetbabydust1989 · 08/05/2022 17:07

@dkedm15 oh this is number 3 we usually stop sex around the 25 week mark unless it's spontaneous 😂 oh water is amazing only thing I have kept down cannot drink anything else really went off tea and coffee so water and pure orange is all I can drink. I also found drinking more water I am not backed up like I was with my second xx

stimpyyouidiot · 08/05/2022 17:12

@dkedm15 I was doing 30 mins exercise every day before I got pregnant. And even carried on until about 10 weeks when I started to feel soooooo ill. Since then I've been so tired I just couldn't do it. Yesterday I did 10 mins weights and 20 yoga. During the week I do the school run so that's 10-15 mins walking and 5-10 getting to and from work. But when I've been losing weight I have to literally cut down to barely any food at all, otherwise it doesn't happen. Which obviously I can't do in pregnancy!

WallsH20 · 08/05/2022 18:12

Hi all,

Hoping I can join the thread🥰I had my 20 week scan on Friday and we found out we're having a baby boy💙we are so excited as we already have a little 22 month old girl.

Just curious as to whether anyone has had growth mentioned at their scan? I've been told baby is in proportion and looks lovely but is measuring in the 6th percentile. They've told me I'll be having a growth scan at 32 weeks. Perhaps before if FMU want to see me sooner, but she wasn't convinced they would.

If anyone has any experience that'd be great. My little girl always measured average!

Thanks🥰

LaddieCthulu · 08/05/2022 18:34

Hi @GlitteryGreen I am sorry it's getting you down :( I am sure that will change as the pregnancy progresses and you will feel more. Although I don't understand anything about the placenta position and when it inhibits feeling movement!

Sweetbabydust1989 · 08/05/2022 19:59

2 more days until scan grr feels like this wait has taken forever hoping my little gremlin is doing ok be nice to see baby bouncing around.. anyone else got a scan next week?? Xx

Butterflytulip · 08/05/2022 20:01

Hi @WallsH20 congrats on your baby boy.
At my 20 week scan baby was measuring a week behind and then at 22 week scan little
One measured 5 days behind. I'm not sure what that is on percentile. But basically iv been reassured that as long as all measurements are in proportion then all is fine. My due date isn't changing which I thought was strange..

annlee3817 · 08/05/2022 20:11

@WallsH20 congrats :) not sure on the growth, I've got to have growth scans due to age, not familiar otherwise, but some babies can catch up I think.

Haven't had a chance to catch up on the rest of the thread yet. We've been camping this weekend, tester run to see if I'd manage anymore before the baby arrives, we usually go around 7 times a year.

It went well, but not sure my bump will fit on the camp bed when I get further along 🤣

Sweetbabydust1989 · 08/05/2022 20:12

@WallsH20 growth scans are great to have as it means they're keeping an extra eye on you I have them and this is my third i am high risk of small babies my first son was only 4lb 7oz due to placenta insufficiency that weren't picked up until very late in pregnancy.

WallsH20 · 08/05/2022 20:45

@Butterflytulip That's reassuring, thank you! I am also measuring exactly a week behind. When I had my 12 week scan they put me 8 days ahead of where we thought I was (and 4 days ahead of the private scan we had at 8 weeks), so we questioned whether my dates might simply be wrong. The sonographer was quite dismissive though. Did you get offered another scan at 22 weeks? I'll wait to see if the FMU want to see me.

@annlee3817 Yes I'm hoping that's the case🤞just needs a little more time to grow haha.

@Sweetbabydust1989 Yes that's so true. It'll be lovely to see baby again! I'm just quite an anxious person so this has thrown me. They said the placenta seemed to be working well so that's reassuring at least.

madeleine85 · 08/05/2022 20:48

@WallsH20 nice to hear that you’re getting an extra check. My experience has been that the growth scans will show if something is massively off, but it’s usually a pretty inaccurate predictor of birth weight. I was sure my DD would be over 6lbs and she was under 5lbs. My friends dr predicted a 9lb baby based on scan measurements and she turned out to be barely 7lbs. Just take them with a wee bit of salt is my advice, though it’s always lovely to get an extra peek at the little one

Butterflytulip · 08/05/2022 20:55

@WallsH20 the sonograoher couldn't see the heart properly so I had to go back in the hope baby would have changed position! Luckily all was fine at the 22 week scan. It was nothing to do with growth. I was told it'll be another 4 weeks until my next scan (High risk gestational diabetes). Growth scans are done much later as baby needs time to grow. Did you get told when your next scan would be? I wouldn't worry, I feel fine about it when the sonograiher explained a few weeks difference would be a concern. A few days to even up to 2 weeks is 'normal'.

You were exactly the same as me at Christmas. I'm determined that I'll lose weight after baby gets here. I'll be walking DD to school and back every day so I think that's a good starting point.

I've not really felt like romantic times since getting pregnant, we manage to dtd occasionally but I feel very unsexy at the moment. I'm worried about antagonising my water infection, also I've not been drinking enough water for the same reason. I don't like spending all my time on the toilet!

stimpyyouidiot · 08/05/2022 21:08

@TurquoiseDreamCatcher yeah at the moment I can only do the walking to school and back at pick up as I have to get to work in the morning so drive us both (so only about 5 mins walking in the morning). When on maternity leave I can drop her and then go walking with baby so hopefully ill lose some

stimpyyouidiot · 08/05/2022 21:08

Once we've had our babies we can make a thread for it when we feel up to it @dkedm15 @TurquoiseDreamCatcher

Butterflytulip · 08/05/2022 21:33

Just to warn the first time mums! My baby would not let me put her down!! Literally holding 24/7. So my diet was awful, toast toast and more toast! I would definitely plan shopping list for your partner to help with having healthy snacks in hand. It's overwhelming bringing a newborn home and having all this responsibility, don't be too hard on yourselves re. Losing Weight, it will come naturally with time xx

Carebear99 · 09/05/2022 01:22

@annlee3817 snap! I was camping too, trying it out being pregnant. I asked to be near the toilets and it was a lovely break. We are planning another break in June then July. I hope your break was good. I was going to take a double air bed but I found a single worked well.
