@Goodgoodthings I hope your scan goes ok, I've got mine at 3.50pm.

GlitteryGreen · 06/05/2022 14:36

@Sweetbabydust1989 Yeah it's weird because I was chatting to a friend the other day who was pregnant with anterior placenta a few (7ish) years ago and she said they took it quite seriously at the scan and spoke to her about movement etc. They said that while she might not feel as much she should still be able to feel something each day and to try and keep track as best she could. They literally mentioned nothing to me.

However she did say this was when 'Count the Kicks' had just come out so maybe they were extra hot on it, and now it's just Kicks Count isn't it, so not as much emphasis on counting.

Goodgoodthings · 06/05/2022 15:06

@SoOverThisCrap hope you get on okay, keep us posted!

My scan went really well (if a little uncomfortable this time!) they could see everything they needed to and let us know we're having another girl 🥹

I'm so pleased it went well 😊 I'm just drinking a glass of water but from what I've been told I don't need a full bladder this time. Heading off to the hospital in about 15 mins...

Goodgoodthings · 06/05/2022 16:03

@SoOverThisCrap so exciting! I didn't have a full bladder this time and they didn't mention it either way. Thinking of you and hoping it goes really well!

Peasplease12 · 06/05/2022 16:28

Hi everyone, new to the thread but 19 weeks tomorrow. Still feeling nauseous and constantly being reassured that this will stop any day now….

Very nervous but looking forward to the scan next week. Not feeling much in the way of movement so really just want to know everything is going ok in there

SoOverThisCrap · 06/05/2022 16:48

20 week scan all done and everything is fine, and he’s most definitely a boy! It took the sonographer ages to get the info needed as he’s very wriggly 😂🤣🥰

Goodgoodthings · 06/05/2022 17:08

Congrats @SoOverThisCrap that's lovely news!

Excited to hear about the next scans, hope they come around quickly for all those waiting!

TurquoiseDreamCatcher · 06/05/2022 17:18

Welcome @Peasplease12

Lovely news on your scan @SoOverThisCrap 💙

PrettyTulip · 06/05/2022 18:05

My scans on Monday - I'm very nervous yet excited! Haven't really felt anything in way of movement yet either (20w2d) so paranoid about that - posterior placenta x

stimpyyouidiot · 06/05/2022 19:02

Sweetbabydust1989 · 06/05/2022 13:34

So come on who is next in line for the 20 week scan?? Mine is in 4 days time I will be 21 weeks 1 day so they should get a really good look if baby actually moves cannot handle them tummy shaking me again to get baby to move 🙈 feels like it's taken forever to come round xx

My scan was on Wednesday and my stomach still hurts from them jabbing me and pushing so hard :(

Em85kk · 06/05/2022 19:03

@GlitteryGreen @ALYGirl I’m the same with anterior placenta. I’m just 21 weeks and the movement has become a lot more noticeable the past 2 days. I was only feeling tiny flutters every few days that you could mistake for gas but just overnight it’s gone up a gear to proper kicks and prods. Hang on in there it’ll come x

SoOverThisCrap · 06/05/2022 19:49

Thank you @TurquoiseDreamCatcher and @Goodgoodthings

I also have an anterior placenta and some days I feel lots of movement and other days it's minimal. Tuesday and Wednesday I felt him moving a lot but yesterday and today I didn't feel that much, which is also why I felt so anxious going in to have my scan. However, on screen he was moving so much, at one point he flipped over from lying face down to face up. I saw it on screen but I didn't feel anything!

HaresHoping · 06/05/2022 19:51

Huge congrats to everyone having scans today! 🥳 and welcome newbies too!

Talking about movement but in a different area... anyone else constipated 😂 I am not happy about this haha! Probably not drinking enough so trying to down as much water as I can... thing is that can make me feel sick so feel like I can't win 🤦🏻‍♀️

TurquoiseDreamCatcher · 06/05/2022 20:59

@HaresHoping I am also constipated, I have been since the beginning, it was the same in my last pregnancy too. I found the one thing that shifts things along is eating too much chocolate. I now like chocolate again after not eating it for 19 weeks!

dkedm15 · 06/05/2022 21:33

@HaresHoping @TurquoiseDreamCatcher so glad (and also so sorry!!!) that I'm not the only one, been really struggling with it! 🫣

Redapple21 · 06/05/2022 22:10

Glad all has gone well with the scans 😊 I'm
feeling guilty tonight, this week I've been eating far too many sweet treats. Just been really fancying sugary stuff and usually i wouldn't have too much but tonight I feel like I've splurged and it's made me feel guilty on the baby :( oh well tomorrow is a new day, will have to avoid the sugary treats for a while
now! Has anyone else got more of a sweet tooth than usual?

TurquoiseDreamCatcher · 06/05/2022 22:24

@Redapple21 I have the worse sweet tooth ever, I am a chocoholic. Since getting my BFP, I haven't fancied eating anything let alone cakes and chocolate. However, since last weekend my sweet tooth had returned, I'm doing my best to rein it in.

Redapple21 · 06/05/2022 22:32

@TurquoiseDreamCatcher yes it's only really kicked in for me the last couple of weeks! Definitely going to try my best to reign it in now!

Well this is all the excuse I need to get some choc in... 😄 sorry to hear you're suffering too @dkedm15!

I'm trying to eat fruit and fibre cereal for brekkie too as find that helps.

Butterflytulip · 07/05/2022 06:53

Oh yes @Redapple21 I have a bag of crisps and chocolate most days !!! I did with my daughter too and she's turned out just fine so I'd say eat everything in moderation!! I keep saying I'll go to gym and lift very light weights and just tone up arms and legs gently. My thighs look huge at the mo 😂😂

Redapple21 · 07/05/2022 06:56

@Butterflytulip ah thanks for your reply, yes I've been good with just having treats in moderation up until this week where I've just given in to temptation too many times. I just got such a guilty feeling last night and had a little cry. I feel better this morning and ready for a healthy breakfast haha.

Belle2210 · 07/05/2022 09:55

Yay for the good news on more scans and hi newbies 👋.

Had my 3rd 20 week scan yesterday and baby is still in the same position but they did manage to get all but one view of the heart so I'm happy with the doctors view that they're happy with all they have seen.

Ive also got an anterior placenta but seem to have been feeling much more in general with im sure the first couple of flutters at about 14/15 weeks. Mine is straight down the middle and low lying with baby being transverse so I think that combo means I can feel movement at each side of it.

Absolutely on the constipation front too 🙄. That along with constant horrendous heartburn and indigestion and on/off Pelvic pain may make for a long 18 ish weeks.

Billymay · 07/05/2022 10:22

Hi girls. Had our scan yesterday.. but early as I was 19+2. Everything was perfect thankfully and they even double checked the kidneys as our second born has only one functioning. The scan was so clear and at one point we saw the babies eye and lens. We found out baby is s girl which make 3 for us… I’m really happy but ppl are just so bizarre saying they hoped we had a boy and will we try again. Xxx

stimpyyouidiot · 07/05/2022 10:23

I would have loved a little girl gang @Billymay but people keep saying 'oh one of each that's better isn't it!' Ermmmm no? Haha
