Thanks everyone for your good luck wishes. Everything went well at scan today. Baby looks healthy and was wiggling around a lot!!

I have got raised dopplers so need some extra scans, but I had this in my previous pregnancy and subsequent scans said dopplers were normal again so not concerned yet.

have an anterior placenta (was posterior previously) which apparently can increase risk of a back to back labour- I really hope this doesn’t happen!!

we didn’t find out the sex. My husband felt strongly about not knowing it and I am awful at keeping secrets!

Congratulations to all those who have had scans the last few days, and good luck with those with ones still go to this week! So lovely to see the baby pictures rolling in :). Definitely feeling much slower this pregnancy than my last. I was doing bootcamps until 32 weeks last time, but i'm now 22 weeks tomorrow and i'm down to doing hikes and walking incline treadmill sessions rather than runs and just generally feeling utterly exhausted and unable to deal with a toddler after i've expended the energy on a workout. There still feels like such a long way to go, but guess i'm going to have to listen to my body on this one. Such a battle when you don't want to gain a ton of weight to lose after the pregnancy, but also know it is in your best interest to do so. The struggle is real! Guess I should refocus my energy on attempt #2 of toilet training my 2 year old before this child comes, or getting the baby supplies organised early instead. It would be so nice to just have one of them in nappies!

Sweetbabydust1989 · 25/04/2022 18:12

15 days until 20 week scan I will be 21 weeks 1 day and so scared my anxiety is through the roof I have tried to get it for next week but completely fully booked it's actually making me unwell 🥲 xx

madeleine85 · 25/04/2022 18:40

@Sweetbabydust1989 worries are totally normal, but can I ask what is making you feel this bad? Have you had a bad outcome before? Do you suffer from anxiety? Can you feel your little one moving around in there? Hoping you can, and this at least is giving you some comfort. Sending a hand hold for a nerve wracking time x

I've slowed down completely but there's no way I can keep up with the weight training I was doing with school runs, work, 4 year old when she's home, dinners/shopping etc. just has to be something that goes and unfortunately it's that. I do some walking etc but it is all I can do without killing myself with exhaustion!! I was obviously doing all of this before I was pregnant but with the tiredness/heartburn/backache it's making everything just a little bit harder!

madeleine85 · 25/04/2022 18:57

@stimpyyouidiot yeah this sounds like me, it is just too much. My toddler has also decided that if she naps during the day (which daycare tries to make happen) then she isn't sleeping until 9pm at night, which is more or less my bedtime now, so I am utterly exhausted! I guess it is just going to be a bit of a frustrating 4-5 months for us all. Glad to hear i'm not alone though :)

Celyn22 · 25/04/2022 18:58

@madeleine85 I hear you on the feelings about weight gain! I’m wondering if I am gaining it too fast, and also battling with feeling fat as I’ve lost my waist and my love handles have grown massively! I only really noticed yesterday when investigating body changes.

I’m struggling too with not using all my energy on things that aren’t important but that I would have easily been able to do before. I’m struggling with asking for help and not getting annoyed when things take longer than I want! I’m struggling with not being able to physically do what I always have been able to, and coming to terms that it will be a year from now till I’m able to again! :( feeling fluctuations of surrender and sorrow.

Kudos to all of you raising kids and working full time whilst pregnant!

I’m 22 weeks on Wednesday which feels like another time marker in the pregnancy... I enjoying knowing the weeks are adding up as the time is passing. I’m getting more round ligament pain now - over the past couple of weeks. It’s not fun but I keep reminding myself it’s all endurance training - pain and patience- for labour.

Overall I’m feeling quite positive but a bit emotionally flat today.

Your scan pics are cheering me up though :)

@Sweetbabydust1989 they must of been so scary for you all. I hope your son has his epilepsy under control now.
My seizures came from nowhere but I have scarring on the brain from a RTA when I was 9 so they put it down to that

@IzzyLeigh thank you. All went well at my scan, everything is in the right place and my cervical length hasn't changed so I'm really chuffed about that. I think we may be having a gymnast. Baby looked like it was doing a somersault 😂

madeleine85 · 25/04/2022 20:11

@Sweetbabydust1989 that is understandably a tricky situation. Hoping that you and your rainbow baby are healthy/happy. The time in between scans is tricky, and nerve wracking. If you have the means then I totally understand going for the reassurance scans. Are you able to access some counselling maybe to help with anxiety? In my experience, if there is anxiety, even if the topic of worry is proved fine, it will likely re-focus onto something else. Urgh it is such a difficult time, but any time that you need to vent we're all here x

stimpyyouidiot · 25/04/2022 21:08

@Celyn22 the ligament pain is starting to get me! I'm 21 weeks today. I went out at the weekend and it was standing and walking all day and ohhhh it started to get quite painful!

Sweetbabydust1989 · 25/04/2022 22:01

@madeleine85 thanks lovely yes thankfully my partner agreed to it to ease my anxiety. I was suppose to see someone to help me through my pregnancy so I was less anxious but no app has come through. I tried calling and explaining to move my scan date by they were really unsympathetic and rude so I just left it thankfully I work evenings so that helps me take my mind off things. I think the clearing the house out is giving me a focus too xx

madeleine85 · 26/04/2022 16:13

Weird to not wake up to posts on this thread so just checking it is actually working with the update! Hope you're all doing well :)

GlitteryGreen · 26/04/2022 16:33

Haha @madeleine85 I thought the same!!

It's been a frustrating week for me, I feel like I am constantly getting hassled by friends and family about my 20 week scan (which is tomorrow). I have tried to dodge telling people the exact day/time so they can't hassle me about how it went but everyone is pushing so hard. A friend text me today about it and I avoided answering about when it actually was, but she just asked me again??

I just wish people would be a little bit more sensitive, it's stressful when it's you waiting for these scans and checks, and I wish others would consider that it's not always the best outcome so people might not want everyone to know exactly when everything is happening.

I know people are just trying to be nice and they are interested, but I'm finding it so stressful that they just won't leave me alone and let me share if and when I want to!

madeleine85 · 26/04/2022 17:12

@GlitteryGreen sorry you are having to deal with that! Hope it all goes well for you tomorrow and you have a lovely little picture of your bean to take home :). 22 weeks today, and this one is apparently the size of a coconut, and I can confirm it feels like it is at LEAST the size of a coconut! Seriously frustrating how nosy people get though! I for one am like please stay the hell out of my body. My parents ask daily how it is going, and they mean well, but it is so annoying to constantly be like "its the same as yesterday" 🙄

Carebear99 · 26/04/2022 18:35

Good luck to all of us who have scans tomorrow, mine is at 840. I'm incredibly anxious about it, I really hope it goes well for us all

LittlemissMama67 · 26/04/2022 20:19

Good luck for your scans, mine isn’t till the 12 at 21 weeks 😬

today I got my first unsolicited touch of the stomach

Butterflytulip · 26/04/2022 21:02

Good luck @Carebear99 and @GlitteryGreen for your scans tomorrow. Sorry if I missed anyone, there's so many posts on here, it's hard to keep up!!

petitlapin1 · 26/04/2022 21:17

@LittlemissMama67 I got my first uninvited bump touches at a wedding last week. Just no need!!

And so many messages from people who I would usually keep in touch with a couple of times a year, all asking "how are you and baby? When's the scan?" Just... No.

annlee3817 · 26/04/2022 21:36

Good luck to those who have the scans tomorrow :)

@madeleine85 I switched my app to size it by animals, so I got "baby is the size of an American Guinea Pig" today on One, and the other said an ear of corn lol

annlee3817 · 26/04/2022 21:39

Thankfully no unsolicited touches of my bump here, but I'm fairly sure my face has don't touch me written all over it. I think a lot of people are having issues since the update, if they're using the app that is

stimpyyouidiot · 26/04/2022 21:44

I've had two bump touches but they're both people I love and the second person said 'omg I'm so sorry I absolutely hated it when people did that and I've just done it!' Which made me smile.

My app says baby is the size of a carrot. Which looking at the carrots in my fridge could mean basically anything hahaha.

Celyn22 · 26/04/2022 22:00

For anyone who fancies a giggle, I enjoyed reading these this morning after a few tears the past few days...

community.whattoexpect.com/forums/august-2022-babies/topic/let-play-why-did-you-cry-today-131777291.html

I am crying so easily now, I sobbed for the whole of a two hour car journey and couldn't remember why I'd started. I kept stopping but then we'd drive past a horse or a dog and I was start balling my eyes out again! Was so frustrating as we were on the way to a friend's event and all I could do on arrival was nap in the back of the van and hide from everyone till I'd calmed down.
