Hi ladies. Feeling a bit anxious reading about those getting cervix checks following abnormal cervical cells removed. I had some removed around 5 years ago and have mentioned it at my booking appointment and my midwife appointment but they didn't seem concerned and didn't offer any extra checks. I have my 20 week scan on Friday so wondering if I should mention it again there?

Sweetbabydust1989 · 24/04/2022 22:53

@Redapple21 how many times have you had cells removed if it's twice or more they will check if not they won't I only had it done once and for some reason I got an appointment for the check when I turned up they say there was no reason for me to be checked as I only had to have cells removed once but they said as I was there they would do it anyway x

Redapple21 · 24/04/2022 22:54

@Sweetbabydust1989 ah right ok, thanks for that info, I've only had them removed once so maybe that's why. Thank you x

Sweetbabydust1989 · 24/04/2022 22:55

Omg been nesting today and I am only 19 weeks tomorrow I have literally been decluttering every room and cupboard going send help 😂 hope my gerlim is ok as I have been at it non stop for 9 hours 😂 xx

Sweetbabydust1989 · 24/04/2022 22:57

@Redapple21 no problem lovely they say there is more chance of cervix shortening if you have had it done twice or more. They actually couldn't believe I got an appointment glad they checked they did keep me waiting over an hour for my appointment so didn't want a wasted trip x

Redapple21 · 24/04/2022 22:58

@Sweetbabydust1989 ah yes it was good you still got checked just to make sure. Il try not to worry too much about that then, thanks again :)

Sweetbabydust1989 · 24/04/2022 22:59

@Redapple21 maybe when you have your 20 week scan done mention it to them they might just check for you if you feel anxious x

annlee3817 · 24/04/2022 23:00

@Redapple21 every trust seems to be different. At mine they check after just one lletz treatment, but I had mine done nine months before falling pregnant as well. Most are absolutely fine, this time it's being checked because I had problems in my last pregnancy. You can always mention it to your midwife and ask for it to be checked for peace of mind

Redapple21 · 24/04/2022 23:02

@Sweetbabydust1989 @annlee3817 thanks ladies, yes il mention it again just to see what they say. It does seem each trust seems to do their own thing, definitely!

Sweetbabydust1989 · 24/04/2022 23:03

@Redapple21 oh definitely it's annoying really as no 2 places are the same wish they stuck to the same thing xx

MummyToBe2022 · 25/04/2022 05:57

@Redapple21 I only had cells removed once but it was a big amount that needed to be taken and I knew this because I got an infection after from doing too much too soon. You can ask to be checked if it is a worry for you and your healthcare provider should follow your wishes. Sorry for panicking you x

Redapple21 · 25/04/2022 06:32

@MummyToBe2022 ah no please don't apologise, it's good to raise awareness, I was just worried as to why I hadn't been getting the checked but I understand now after a few people have kindly explained :) hope you're doing ok.

MummyToBe2022 · 25/04/2022 06:35

@Redapple21 I'm doing good thank you. It's so different from my previous pregnancies as my last one was 10 years ago. There's a lot going on this time that's making me very anxious, I was diagnosed with epilepsy 5 years ago so it feels like I'm constantly have check ups, which is good but I feel like I'm letting work down at the minute. Can't win lol

Redapple21 · 25/04/2022 06:41

@MummyToBe2022 ahh, sorry to hear that you're feeling extra anxious. I get that you're worried about work but it's not a priority at the moment. I feel like I'm already switching off from work - a bit early ha ha - but I guess it's just because we have other things to think about! In terms of time off for appointments, your job will still be there with or without the appointments so try not to worry too much. The main thing is your health and the babies health, look after yourself. Thankfully work have to let us attend as many appointments as necessary and I'm sure after Mat leave you'll be back giving it your all :)

MummyToBe2022 · 25/04/2022 06:50

@Redapple21 you're right, work isn't my priority. Luckily the ladies I actually work with are really supportive and stop me from doing too much. Really hope your pregnancy goes well. Thank you

Redapple21 · 25/04/2022 06:56

@MummyToBe2022 that's great that everyone is supportive. Ah thank you, you too! :)

Carebear99 · 25/04/2022 09:21

Hi everyone
I'm 20+3 with a posterior placenta. I haven't really been movement I don't think but I've been feeling some weird flutters above my belly button which clearly the baby isn't there but could the flutters there be vibration from the uterus?

Sweetbabydust1989 · 25/04/2022 09:24

@MummyToBe2022 my son has epilepsy was one of the hardest challenges in our family to adjust I still panic now I had to create what I call my new normal. He was diagnosed the September 2017 he started primary school he had like 6 fits in one week xx

annlee3817 · 25/04/2022 10:11

@Carebear99 yes, I think if they kick upwards it will kind of reverberate and wobble other things (if that's the right word) fuzzy head this morning. Your uterus is pretty much inline with your belly button now, so would make sense, I definitely felt it above at that stage. Flutters definitely sound like movements :)

Carebear99 · 25/04/2022 12:17

Thanks @annlee3817

Roll on Wednesday for my 20w scan

IzzyLeigh · 25/04/2022 13:27

Hello everyone! Just catching up after a busy weekend. Not much to report here besides finally showing!!! Spent the weekend house-hunting too and we found a place we love. I think we’re going to put an offer in today, so fingers crossed we get it! It would be the absolute perfect house and neighborhood to raise our daughter. Great schools, playground down the street, quite neighborhood, huge yard. I'll be so sad if it doesn't work out.

@Billymay Happy belated birthday! But I’m sorry to hear about your mom and that people didn’t react properly to the news of your pregnancy 😕

@Sweetbabydust1989 yes, incredibly anxious about my 20-week scan. I keep having nightmares about it, which really isn’t helping!

Welcome and congrats @MummyToBe2022! Good luck on your scan today if it hasn’t already happened!

@petitlapin1 so glad your scan went well!

@Flibbyjibby good luck on your scan today too! And I concur with @stimpyyouidiot's suggestion. Just find out and don’t tell him! Everyone wins! 😉😎

@Carebear99 Even if it’s not reverberations, I think you could be feeling the baby. Nerves are so weird internally and sometimes you feel things in places where they aren’t actually happening. For example, I had an ovarian cyst rupture years back and I was so convinced something was wrong with my appendix because of how painful it was on the right side of my lower belly. It was definitely the right side. I rushed to the ER and they did a CT scan and began getting things ready in case it was my appendix and I would need surgery. But the scan revealed that it wasn't my appendix after all because the pain was from a ruptured cyst on my LEFT side. I couldn’t believe it. They said sometimes things get mixed up and your brain interprets the signals as coming from a different place entirely—in my case, the complete opposite side of my belly. Granted, this is different. But maybe!

Hi all,

shining starz here with a new profile!! I wasn’t able to log in for the last week so decided to set up a new profile arghhh!!

so I’m due 8th Sept.
had 20 week scan last week - baby was measuring a week behind. As soon as I got home I was all over Google. Sonographer said everything she measured is in proportion and is fine., no concerns and they wouldn’t be changing due date. Iv to go back next week as baby position meant they couldn’t check everything. She was poking my belly trying to get baby to move but didn’t work!

I just hope at 22 week check, the baby has continued growing and has caught up. Worried mamma here!

hope everyone else is doing ok x

TurquoiseDreamCatcher · 25/04/2022 16:42

I've started to have ridiculous cravings for things that I'm not overly keen on. I fancy a nice toasted bagel with pâté, washed down with red wine. I'm teetotal and have never drank red wine in my life!

I'm onto a second course of antibiotics as I've now got an ear infection. I am so fed up!

Wizzywazzywoo · 25/04/2022 17:19

Hey everyone, just checking in currently 19+5 with baby #3. Hope everyone is doing ok!

Has anyone set up a Facebook page for us yet? Keep trying to keep up with this thread but failing 🙈🤣
