@JMill13 at least you get yo meet your LO sooner and 10th May is still an amazing birthday (looks like quite a few babies on this thread are gonna be born on that day) I've got my sweep on that day.

Just been to town to try yet another thing I've read online about inducing naturally jasmine oil gonna try it later in the bath x

@Kittycaz I haven't heard of that one! I've been out for a short walk this morning with my daughter but need to try and do some longer walks over the next few days when she's at nursery. We tried sex last night but that hasn't brought anything on! Don't really feel any different.

WildButterfly · 03/05/2022 15:57

Exciting news, @JMill13! And the right decision based on scan results, I agree that May10th is a great birthday.

I’ve been to my weekly hospital BP and monitoring appointment and all is fine, baby was very active and kicking all monitors. They’ve finally confirmed the date of my second growth scan for Monday, we’ll see if she’s still measuring big and how to proceed from there.

H0peing · 03/05/2022 16:46

@fejkalove Congratulations! Lovely photo! Where did you get the hat from? Xx

H0peing · 03/05/2022 16:52

Has anyone heard much about prodromol labour? I never had before but it seems to fit what I've been going through for what feels like a long time now. Not even sure exactly when it started. Lost some mucus plug last week followed by a lot more today. Sometimes I'm woken up with contractions because they are so strong, they are regular for a while and then I guess they just stop because I fall asleep. I've been having a lot of contractions whilst walking and whilst on my birthing ball but even when they have been 3 in 10 minutes for 30 minutes or so they just stop or become irregular! Quite frustrating but induction day is May 10th so I guess it's not long now whether she arrives naturally or not. Xx

Never heard of the term.. but sounds similar to the latent phase I've been reading about, since having some strong cramping and lower back pain episodes that just go away the next morning without any further symptoms. Either way, it sounds like you're very close!

Yellowbelly12 · 03/05/2022 18:06

Has anyone had the hospital call them and not leave any message? I had a missed call on Sunday, tried calling back but the message just says it is the hospital and they will call back if it is urgent.

Since then I’ve been making sure I have my phone close by, then when I was vacuuming earlier they called again. Again I missed it, no message left and no way to contact them.

I’m trying to keep thinking it can’t be anything bad as they would try calling more than once but I can’t help but think the worst and I’m missing something important. It has to be something to do with my section which is booked for 10 May, I did my pre-op stuff when I saw the consultant a couple of weeks ago.

I don’t know what answer I’m wanting, just somewhere to vent a bit!

rainbowplease · 03/05/2022 18:19

@Yellowbelly12 my hospital never leave a proper voicemail either! I normally contact the Antenatal Assessment Unit and they can normal see what the call was about.

Crumpetloveliness · 03/05/2022 18:26

Evening ladies! I’ve been visiting the May boards for a while but haven’t yet posted 🙈 EDD is 13th May, which I’ve only just realised is a Friday after seeing PP. Next app isn’t until day before due date so we’ll see what happens, second time round and still being a bit too nonchalant if I’m honest….still yet to pack hospital bags!

Second child, first was pessary/water broken induced so I’m hoping to be natural this time but to be fair the first time was five hours from 4cm to birth.

Its great to see little ones have already been arriving! Congratulations 🤩

Yellowbelly12 · 03/05/2022 18:45

@rainbowplease thank you, will call them tomorrow to see if I can find out what it’s all about and out my mind at ease a bit!

JMill13 · 03/05/2022 21:19

Thanks @Kittycaz @WildButterfly can't bloody wait now. Just have to make sure I have all the food cooked and frozen the next few days so we don't all starve when I get home again.

@Kittycaz good luck! Hopefully won't be too much longer now for things to start moving

@WildButterfly hope all goes well on Monday. Glad you finally got your appointment. I've been told she's been measuring big since 28 weeks until last week/this week all of a sudden she's "normal" so I don't think I believe ultra sound scans anymore.

Kittycaz · 04/05/2022 06:30

@Crumpetloveliness welcome x

OP posts:
Crumpetloveliness · 04/05/2022 06:38

@Kittycaz thank you for the welcome!

@JMill13 funnily enough I’ve had exactly the same thing, from 30 weeks they’ve said weight is measuring 2.5/3 weeks ahead. Had a scan last week at 37+4 and all normal, although same as you no idea which to go with. Looking through evidence based birth and it’s probably better as providers are less likely to suggest intervention earlier if they think baby is ‘normal size’. We’ll find out soon at least 😂

Kittycaz · 04/05/2022 07:47

Me and DH DTD so I have now officially done all natural induction methods. It was freaking hilarious. 😂

OP posts:
WildButterfly · 04/05/2022 10:01

Thank you @JMill13! I’ve read so much about those scans being inaccurate, especially when it’s soft tissue (abdominal circumference) which is where baby girl was measuring big. Hopefully I’ll know more on Monday.

Welcome @Crumpetloveliness! I’m now looking forward to seeing how yours and @JMill13’s babies measure in comparison to predictions, hopefully not too long for you now!

@Kittycaz DH and I try to keep a once a week schedule, but it’s increasingly becoming a struggle to maneuver around the belly, it’s comical. Hopefully it gets things going for you! 🤞🏻

JMill13 · 04/05/2022 10:04

@Crumpetloveliness not sure in your case obviously but in mine I don't think it helps that every scan is done by a different person.

How do they go from measuring 2 weeks ahead to all of a sudden being normal. It makes no sense.

JMill13 · 04/05/2022 11:40

"Spooning" is where it's at these days for us. Only comfortable way to manage round the belly,

@WildButterfly shes currently measuring 7lb2 apparently so i can't wait to see what she actually is when she arrives on Tuesday.

Kittycaz · 04/05/2022 17:31

It was the 1st time me and DH DTD since finding out we were expecting as last year we did and then had a mmc (prob wasn't related but I've been cautious since) so we though we shall bite the bullet and give it a go this morning. I've just been to bathroom and I'm bleeding I don't know if it's my show or it irritated my cervix. I've rang midwife who told me triage is to busy at the moment and to put a pad on for an hour see if I have any more and ring back if I do. Kinda felt like I was being a nuisance to them.

OP posts:
WildButterfly · 04/05/2022 17:57

That’s totally understandable, between the two of us DH has been the most nervous about DTD at the start, and I think he’s starting to get a bit apprehensive again now towards the end.

I hope you’re ok, try and relax and rest as much as possible, but do ring again if it carries on! It’s horrible that they made you feel like that, especially this late in your pregnancy. You’d think a bleed would be a priority. Fingers crossed it means things are moving in the right direction and you’ll be in full on labor soon!

Crumpetloveliness · 04/05/2022 20:33

@JMill13 same here I’ve had a different sonographer for every scan 😂 The one who flagged it first actually said to me have you been eating everything in sight?! Whilst that might be the case I was a bit taken aback 😅 Last time I went there was a huge tv display so I got to see the stomach circumference measurement, as it’s just a case of drop and drag I can see how it’s such a subjective measurement.

am in admiration of everyone DTD!

@Kittycaz I’m sorry to hear their reaction. Has there been any snot like discharge along with the blood?

Sarah239 · 04/05/2022 23:09

@Kittycaz I completely relate, we've (particularly I've) been really nervous about DTD too... think I can count on one hand the number of times we have during pregnancy! I've also been worried about irritating my cervix. Even though they say it's safe to have sex I always felt at the back of my mind like not doing it must be safer than doing it?! 🤷‍♀️

It sounds like the bleeding could well be from DTD, I guess you just have to try and assess if the amount is cause for concern or if it seems likely it is just cervix irritation. I am sorry with their reaction too, I'd be upset by it as blood is always alarming isn't it so you want reassurance. Take care and hopefully it trails off xx You're definitely not a nuisance though! If you are still concerned call back.

I've had a bit of an anxious day today just about everything. When is baby going to come, panicking I'm not ready, wanting her to come, panicking if anything is wrong etc. I'm also driving an hour away on my own tomorrow which isn't much but I am a bit scared if I'm honest... I'll be glad when tomorrow is done and I can nest again. My husband is worried about me being on my own too bless him and I don't like worrying him. On the bright side, the friend I am going to see is a midwife so if anything happens at least I will be in good hands! 😅 It's just the driving I am worried about; getting stranded in car etc. Just overthinking!!

Kittycaz · 05/05/2022 01:18

Hey ladies so the bleeding and cramping got worse so went into hospital and they checked and I was 8cm dilated! They were shocked 2 hours of pushing later I've got a beautiful baby boy 9lb 11oz. I've had a really bad tear so had to be rushed to theatre for stitches I lost allot of blood to. I'm now shaking with how sudden it all was. But here I am laid in bed on maternity ward 3 pipes coming out of me with my not so little one asleep next to me. I havent been able to take a photo yet will do in the morning when I can move x

@Kittycaz huge congratulations!! So so pleased for you.

I've just been catching up as time seems to have flown since Mr Baby arrived last Thursday. I'm currently staring at him sleeping when really I should be sleeping. I've found the hardest part to deal with is not the pain from the c-section, it's my crazy emotions. Up and down all the time and the smallest thing sets me off crying my eyes out.

I have personally really struggled to breastfeed because baby kept falling asleep when latched. I was putting too much pressure on myself and have ended up expressing my milk to feed him. Even had to do a few formula feeds to top up until my supply came in which I was so mortified by, but he's been purely on breast milk for 24 hours now.

EastMidsGem · 05/05/2022 02:18

@Kittycaz I also hope you heal as quickly as possible. Xx

TunaJacket · 05/05/2022 05:15

Congratulations @Kittycaz ! That sounds quite dramatic, hope you feel better soon.

I have been a long time lurker of this thread but rarely posted, due May 16th.

Had my 38 week midwife appt yesterday and bump measurement is the same as two weeks ago so currently waiting for a growth scan. Little bit worried cause I don’t want to be induced and also don’t want anything to be wrong with baby obviously. He is still wriggling around plenty and heart rate was fine yesterday so fingers crossed but we’ll see!
