@fpeg glad you can go home and rest now! Hopefully baby can get a bit stronger for long now!!

@PleaseSendNoodles glad you’ve arrived back safe and sound! Can’t imagine travelling that much without being pregnant 😂 tiring as it is!
also yes, I can feel movement all over! I wish I knew how they were lying and what is poking me in the ribs 😅

Rolledthedice · 28/04/2022 15:53

How are you meant to differentiate between dull ache cramps, BH and pre-term labour cramps? I already went to triage yesterday as had yellow discharge with sudden wetness (thankfully test to check waters had broken was negative). Today I’m fine with occasional dull ache / mild period pain on lower left side. As a FTM I just don’t know what I should be looking out for! Anyone else struggling to know?

fpeg · 28/04/2022 16:03

@Rolledthedice my preterm labour cramps/tightenings/contractions started off very much feeling like intestinal cramping higher up in my abdomen, quickly progressed to feeling it start down in my pelvis, radiating up to my back, very uncomfortable! Later as progressed again started in pelvis then came more up the front. Could feel whole uterus going hard and then starting to relax when wearing off. It's a big enough effect that my OH could tell when the contraction had finished by having his hand on my belly. Also the more progressed ones I now really understand what they talk about when they say it's like a pressure in your butt and you almost feel like you want to have a poo, it's a very good description! If you feel anything like the above I would get checked, I almost didn't and it would've been a big mistake 💚

PlodandPod · 28/04/2022 16:11

@Rolledthedice I'm wondering the same thing. I have a dull ache almost like period pains but in my back which I don't think are anything to be concerned about but who knows!

@fpeg Thanks for the detailed post, that really helps to know what to be looking out for as I was clueless 😂

EarlGreywithLemon · 28/04/2022 16:12

@fpeg thank you! I have no idea what to look out for. My back to back labour contractions were very weird. I know that for me they didn't feel anything like period pains though.

DaimDillyDoo · 28/04/2022 16:42

Went to triage, I'm not in labour and they couldn't find a source of why I spotted the other day. It was literally a tiny smidge of blood, baby is fine and I no longer have period pains!

It seems a few of us are experiencing the same, maybe it's more common than you realise I'm almost 36 weeks and I didn't have "ooh crap is this it moment"

@PeeAche2 Glad to hear you had a lovely night with your husband.

@fpeg thinking of you, hope little one gets to cook a little longer but sounds like she's eager to see what the world is all about!

Rolledthedice · 28/04/2022 17:39

Thanks for the detailed description @fpeg - that’s very helpful. I must say I’m impressed with how well you are coping on your rollercoaster ride!

@DaimDillyDoo glad to hear yours was also a false alarm! I think you may be right and these on/off mild cramps are just part of pregnancy.

Rolledthedice · 28/04/2022 17:40

@PlodandPod how far along are you? I’m 33+3.

Flowerbug1994 · 28/04/2022 17:56

I’ve been also having period like pains in my back and asked my midwife about it today and she said we get lots of little aches and niggles at this point if it was contractions the pain would come and go and not stay. Mine has been staying for a bit when I’ve had them. I feel like we are all getting to a point where we are symptom spotting. It’s like first trimester all over again 😂😂😂

BunBun221 · 28/04/2022 17:57

Is anyone else struggling with a lot of watery discharge? I was told to go into triage on Monday to check it wasn't my waters. It wasn't and they did a swab to check for thrush and BV and both have come back negative. I'm soaking through like 3 sets of knickers a day!

beansprout55 · 28/04/2022 18:27

@Flowerbug1994 yes!!! 😂😂 totally symptom spotting. I've had loads of EWCM recently and it's taking me back to ovulation tracking! Good times 😅 xx

Breathing is so bad now. Episodes of breathlessness are increasing and I'm gasping for air several times a day lasting 5/10 mins a go. Checking iron again tomorrow, don't think it's that as I'm taking extra iron already. Must just be baby pushing on my lungs. Can't think what else. - anyone else getting it this bad???? I'm 31+4, worried I'll be attached to an oxygen mask by 40 😂

GrowBabyGrow · 28/04/2022 18:33

Been waiting at triage for an hour to be seen about reduced fetal movements 😔 they're so busy they can't say when I'll be seen. While I've been waiting I've started to feel her move a little bit but mostly just hiccups which I think we're not meant to count as movement if I remember rightly from someone earlier up the thread? I don't want to waste their time but I also want to get her checked as she's been really quiet today

Vimto1991 · 28/04/2022 18:35

@BunBun221 yep 😅 tmi but it makes me super itchy when I have a lot of discharge 😩
The Emma’s diary pack comes with always discharge pads, specifically for pregnancy but not tried these yet. May help you get through the day without changing your knickers! I was wearing some yesterday and I thought my waters were breaking or something as you could see through the material it was wet. 🙈🙈

Vimto1991 · 28/04/2022 18:36

@GrowBabyGrow they get hiccups from practicing to breath or suckling, so it’s definitley a good sign! It’s not really a movement but I’d still take that as a positive. :)

Letsbekindplease · 28/04/2022 19:08

@GrowBabyGrow I’d 100% count that as movement. I hope you’re seen soon for some reassurance. It’s such a worry isn’t it.

I’ve been having what I can only describe as “arse daggers” wow. Painful. My son actually said sorry to me because I let out a yelp. Wee darling so he is. I forgot about those kind of pains

PlodandPod · 28/04/2022 19:29

Rolledthedice · 28/04/2022 17:40

@PlodandPod how far along are you? I’m 33+3.

33+6 over here. Due 10th June x

MrsTwentyNine · 28/04/2022 19:45

@BunBun221 @Vimto1991 my goodness yesss thank God someone said it. My knickers are soaking by lunch time!! My panty liners do nothing. I need to start wearing sanitary towels or something !

GrowBabyGrow · 28/04/2022 20:44

Baby passed the monitoring all fine! Ended up being a two hour wait but worth it to know she's ok. She ended up doing some huge kicks when we were hooked up to the monitor, she'd not done that all day!!

Vimto1991 · 28/04/2022 21:00

@GrowBabyGrow that’s so good to hear! Typical isn’t it 😂 mine kicked within fifteen minutes of the test. Hadn’t felt movement for hours!! So glad they’re okay!

does anyone get a weird feeling sat in certain positions? It makes my heart feel weird I can end up having palpitations, like I’m putting strain on my heart. If I re arrange I go back to normal. Getting comfy gets harder by the day!! 😂🙈

unknownscot · 28/04/2022 21:13

Sorry to hear so many of you are struggling with aches and pains etc.

I've had thrush this week but three pessaries later I'm as good as new.

Went shopping today and spent near £100 in boots but that's me pretty much organised so this weekends task is to pack my hospital bag.

Have another growth scan tomorrow morning and seeing the consultant.

32+1 today.

X

JAR1981 · 28/04/2022 21:29

Thanks so much @fpeg for sharing your experience, sounds different to what I was expecting so really helpful.

@PleaseSendNoodles you must be so pleased to be home!

I still have lots of discharge after it came on suddenly and sent me into the ‘is it my waters?’ spin last week. I think it’s pretty typical at this stage. Although no idea why?

All the ladies struggling with sleep I feel you. Still testing negative for COVID here so husband will be in the spare room tonight. Is it wrong to say I’m quite looking forward to having the bed to myself and seeing if I can get a better night’s sleep?! 🤣

Good luck for your scan tomorrow @unknownscot

EarlGreywithLemon · 28/04/2022 21:34

@beansprout55 yes, I’m very very breathless, sometimes randomly and sometimes even sitting down. So I might not be breathless after a half an hour walk, but will be sitting at my desk, or hanging out some washing. My iron levels are OK and have been improving with the iron supplements. My heart echo was also unchanged, so I’m fairly sure it’s just the baby pressing on my lungs. Do you know what position your baby is in? Mine is breech, so it might be why- I think they can then press on your diaphragm.

beansprout55 · 28/04/2022 21:50

@EarlGreywithLemon - Glad I'm not the only one! I sit a lot when treating patients and I find that worse than standing tbh, but after standing my feet hurt and pelvis and back start to go. Can't win! Baby is head down according to MW, but I'm not convinced and she didn't seem sure! 😂 I read earlier that after 34 weeks breathing should improve as the womb drops into a lower position - hope that's accurate! Two weeks and counting xx

Have I missed it or have we heard from @4thtimethecharm? Hope everything is still going ok.

@fpeg I'm also in total awe of how well you've handled these last 48+ hours. You're just amazing!!

@PeeAche2 overjoyed reading your last few posts about how well your little angel is doing, and the amazing support and care you've both received. Such good news xxx

Lots of comments about McDonald's over the last few days - I'm definitely treating myself to this new McSpicy, salt drenched fries and a large choco milkshake. And maybe a little cheeseburger as they're so small, a tiny snack at best really. 🍔 😋

MrsNT · 28/04/2022 21:56

@earlgreywithlemon @beansprout55 mine is breach and i am getting out of breath too when I talk alot in work call meetings..im 32 +4 .
Started doing spinningbaby excercises wjth the hope baby will turn before next scan

beansprout55 · 28/04/2022 21:56

@Vimto1991 yes! I have that loads! It's such a weird feeling. x
