@DaimDillyDoo i have had what felt like period pains in my back on and off for a few days now not making me need to take paracetamol or anything but strong enough to notice as I haven’t had a period in 8 months so I was like oh they feel like period pains. And this evening I felt then come round my front a bit. Am 33+4 how far are you ? I did Google braxton hicks but it doesn’t seem they are even in just your back

RoseValleyRambles · 27/04/2022 23:14

I was sitting on the loo seat trying to bend far enough over to remove my socks tonight when it struck me just how epic this group is. If you guys weren't sharing your ups and downs, and keeping me sane, I'd be absolutely neurotic thinking my pregnancy was this weird aberration from the glowing norm.

Just thought I'd share the love. Hooray for Mumsnet.Grin

pregnancydiaries · 28/04/2022 07:57

@PeeAche2 hope you managed to enjoy a well deserved date night 💜

@fpeg did you get home??

I am struggling so much with sleep!! Is anyone else tossing from side to side every 2 minutes? Every time I do it I feel so guilty because surely it must be annoying little one? But I can't help it, I'm only comfy for 2 mins at a time 😂

fpeg · 28/04/2022 08:11

@pregnancydiaries unfortunately not. Contractions started again last night, haven't really progressed overnight either though, same frequency and strength, so early labour still. Just having morning monitoring and she's reading happy again which is good news. Doctors coming later to assess again, looking more like she's thinking of making an appearance though! Time will tell 🤷‍♀️🙃

PeeAche2 · 28/04/2022 08:11

@DaimDillyDoo if I were you, I would ring the midwife. Period pains are unusual at this stage, especially with spotting. It could be nothing but it could be pre term labour and it's better to be safe.xxx

PeeAche2 · 28/04/2022 08:15

@pregnancydiaries - don't worry, they can't feel much annoyance. Or much of anything really. Trust me. I've met my one and, as much as I adore her, she clearly has the emotional intelligence of an avocado. 😂

@fpeg date night was lovely, thank you. Especially actually getting to sleep next to my husband. It's been such an emotional rollercoaster.

@RoseValleyRambles Yes! I ❤️this group.

Prema112 · 28/04/2022 08:33

@RoseValleyRambles I agree!!

@Annabell1 Great to hear your little one is head down now!

@fpeg Oh gosh you may be meeting her soon then!! So exciting!

@DaimDillyDoo I'd get checked with period pains and spotting, it could be nothing but could be preterm labour

RoseValleyRambles · 28/04/2022 08:41

@fpeg sounds like you're going to get to meet your LO early! How exciting! Hope all goes well.

@DaimDillyDoo recently I’ve been getting period pains on and off too. I have it for a while and I think to myself I’ll give it another hour and if I still have them I will call triage but then they go! So I’ve never called. With your spotting I would probably call up and just say it was only a tiny bit and see what they say.

Its so hard to know when to ring up and when to give it a bit more time 🙈

C1ueless22 · 28/04/2022 09:09

@fpeg thinking of you, very exciting. She clearly doesn't want to wait any longer to see her mummy xx

Lostintranslatio · 28/04/2022 09:21

Issues sleeping too here!! I can't find a comfortable way to sleep and changing positions is very uncomfortable too, so I spend the night waking up to toss around as best as I can. Really considering sleeping sitting up on couch (my DP looks at me like I'm crazy when I say this).

@PeeAche2 What a big champion your little girl is!! Your message made me all teary when I read all you can do is staring at her❤️

JAR1981 · 28/04/2022 10:09

Ah @PeeAche2 what a lovely update. So pleased to hear your little one is thriving. And that you and hubs managed to get some time to yourselves last night.

@4thtimethecharm thinking of you and hope you and you’re little one are both doing ok.

@fpeg thinking of you today too, what a rollercoaster!

AFM husband tested positive for COVID this morning following his work trip to Italy. Ugh. So we are now isolating however we obviously shared a bed last night so not sure how long I’ll stay negative. If I’m gonna get it I’d rather catch it asap as we have our next growth scan and diabetes clinic on Thursday. Hoping if I do get it symptoms are mild and baby ok. Also we had sooooo much organising planned together for this weekend not to mention cleaning the house top to bottom after the builders finish and not sure how that will happen now. Trying not to stress out too much but it’s not my strong point eeek!

Brightsmoke · 28/04/2022 10:10

@PeeAche2 that sounds so so lovely! Glad she's doing so well 🥰. The unit she's on now sounds amazing!

@fpeg yay for the McDonald's! My poor dog was left 24 hours without a visit with my last son. We didn't think about him, and my dad popped in to sort him eventually, amazingly he hadn't messed in the house at all, but I felt so guilty! I've got 3 people on stand by for him this time 🙈

Try not to sorry @PlodandPod. The tape measure is a really bad way to measure! They'll send you for another growth scan if they need to, but 1cm out of the 'range' is nothing 😊

Gutted you couldn't get home @fpeg but exciting that you might meet your little one soon

I'm currently in the 2 hour wait for my glucose bloods. I lost it a little bit at work yesterday and burst into tears. I'm the only female on my team, most of them not having partners who have had babies, so they didn't really know what to do 😂. I think the possibility of not getting the birth I want for the 2nd time has hit me harder than I realised. PTSD from last time is really ramping up too.

Letsbekindplease · 28/04/2022 10:22

@JAR1981 oh no. Try not to worry though. I had covid as did my son and my partner who we are with pretty much all the time. Share bed etc and he didn’t get it. I was amazed but this also happened to a friend and her hubby didn’t get it either. Hope it’s the same for you

sleeping for me is an absolute nightmare. I bought a pregnancy pillow from Asda and it’s great to sit and lie over but for sleeping, doesn’t do much. My pillows are ancient so they don’t give me much comfort either.
I have a slide sheet on my bed to help with turning in bed which is about my only positive lol.

Octoblockisadick · 28/04/2022 10:38

@fpeg that's exciting that you might be meeting your baby soon! Fingers crossed everything goes well for you 🤞.
@DaimDillyDoo I would definitely phone midwife just in case, like others have said it might be nothing but it might be early labour so it's worth getting checked.
@C1ueless22 yeah that does sound dodgy, I'm sure they are meant to inform you of any opportunities, and changing your job title while you aren't there is not right. I would give acas or pregnant then screwed a call and just see what they say.
@JAR1981 oh no! Hopefully you don't get it, or if you do hopefully it's mild and over quickly. Have you had it before?

JAR1981 · 28/04/2022 10:57

@Letsbekindplease fingers crossed this is me! @Octoblockisadick no not had it before. With IVF over the past 2 years then pregnancy we’ve been pretty careful. Husband was due to stop going into work when I hit 36/37 weeks too. Just our luck!

@Brightsmoke good luck with your GTT. Remind me, are you being tested due to baby measuring big? Or did they pick up glucose in your pee?

@DaimDillyDoo agree with others. Best to phone your midwife and get checked. Triage were so good with me last week when I thought might waters were leaking.

@C1ueless22 this makes me angry for you! Def work a call to check your rights. Why are so many workplaces still so bad at handling maternity in this day and age?!

pregnancydiaries · 28/04/2022 11:23

@PeeAche2 glad date night was a success, hoping you feel refreshed after it for more cuddles with princess! 💜

@fpeg wee one is obviously desperate to meet mummy, I'm jealous! Good luck for whatever comes your way today, you'll be amazing xx

Just waiting for my iron transfusion now...praying to feel like a new woman!! 🙏🏼

PlodandPod · 28/04/2022 12:13

Also having trouble sleeping. If I lay on one side for too long it seems my hip goes dead/aches, but it's a mission in itself to turn to the other side 😂 Acid reflux is bad if I'm on my right side, but that's also more comfy than being on my left. I give up! 😬

PlodandPod · 28/04/2022 12:15

@Brightsmoke Thanks for the reassurance. I think I'm just a bit worried as I wrongly assumed all was okay from the first growth scan so to be potentially needing another one now is a bit worrying.

How did your glucose bloods go? Crossing fingers for you that it's all okay to allow a home birth 🤗

fpeg · 28/04/2022 12:29

@JAR1981 what a nightmare! Hoping that you stay negative or if you don't that you have a mild dose and don't feel any I'll effects xxx

@pregnancydiaries hope the transfusion brings a new lease of life!!

Our rollercoaster continues! Having had contractions all night they've now stopped again! Cervix hasn't changed so they are sending me home 😁 said I may get more episodes like this and so long as contractions not progressive and waters don't break, baby's movements ok, etc. then to just stay at home. Any changes to come straight back, even if that's tonight. What a rollercoaster of a week! They've booked me in for a 38 week scan so they must be fairly positive that's a possibility!

annie1994 · 28/04/2022 12:55

@fpeg thats good you get to go home and back to your own bed! Hopefully baby can cook a little longer🤞🏼

MsBubbles85 · 28/04/2022 14:18

I am also having trouble sleeping, last Tuesday night baby was kicking a lot and I was just moving around all night.
This morning I went to the day assessment unit as I hadn't felt her movements since last night...after being there for nearly an hour all is fine with baby and I am just taking it easy today. My husband thinks that I might have been overdoing it a bit as I went yesterday to the office after having barely slept at all. The joys of pregnancy!

PleaseSendNoodles · 28/04/2022 15:16

Glad you get to go and sleep in your own bed, @fpeg ! Let us know how it goes at home.

And I loved your update, @PeeAche2 the baths sound so cute. Your babe must be like a teeny tiny dolly. I’m pleased you’re all doing well.

@Annabell1 Thanks, due date buddy! Sounds like your scan was reassuring so that’s good 😊

Anyone else wondering how they can feel movement EVERYWHERE? Like is this baby an octopus?! No idea which way round she is.

How’s it going, @DaimDillyDoo ? Any more cramping?

I am now finally home and definitely not travelling anywhere too far for the foreseeable!

Urgh - sorry for everyone on the insomnia train. That’s not fun AT ALL.

t0nim92 · 28/04/2022 15:35

@pregnancydiaries

Hey just wanted to know if you’ve been told what your iron levels are? How did the transfusion go?

Mine are low but I keep getting constipated on the tablets and liquid, so I’ve stopped taking it and am going to pick up some spatone tomorrow after work. I don’t think I’d like a transfusion
