@fpeg that’s ok!! I hope you’re doing well and are a bit more rested now! Are they keeping you in for the foreseeable?

JAR1981 · 26/04/2022 16:55

@fpeg I’ve everything crossed the contractions stop.

@Vimto1991 great news that you’re clear for pre-eclampsia, but be a relief. Hope ICP clear too - will you get results today?

Just back from the midwife. Baby is head down in a good and low position with a nice HR of 122. She is also chasing down the diabetes team for me. And have my appointment to go through birth plan in 2 weeks which is when she’ll give me the kit to start colostrum harvesting too.

@Octoblockisadick my husband is gonna have quite the shopping list for after I’ve given birth. I’ve already told him I want 2 x pain au chocolat from the hospital Costa straight after 🤣

fpeg · 26/04/2022 17:21

@Vimto1991 yes, about to move to the ward and have another monitoring session this evening. I asked and if everything settles properly down they will allow me home at some point but being very non committal on when that point is, which I can understand!

The biggest plus for me so far is that the hospital food has been amazing! Really tasty. Shepherds pie for lunch and tikka masala for dinner. A very pleasant surprise!

fpeg · 26/04/2022 17:54

Oh and hiccups... she has more episodes than I can count since we got here, you hear them really well on the CTG even when you don't always feel them. I asked the consultant if any concerns and she said no, that's just what babies do at this stage! Hope that can reassure those who were concerned xx

Prema112 · 26/04/2022 18:01

Sorry I haven't been able to keep up with the thread today but @fpeg so pleased to read contractions are slowing and you can keep her inside a little longer! I wonder what triggered them!

Prema112 · 26/04/2022 18:02

And thanks for the update on hiccups!

Prema112 · 26/04/2022 18:03

@Vimto1991 Also really glad you got checked and all look ok!

fpeg · 26/04/2022 18:03

@Prema112 maybe she'll tell me when she's older 😂🤣 just moved through to the ward so it's a waiting game now. Hope it stays this quiet and there isn't a sudden influx of labouring mums, it's all been very peaceful here the last 24 hours!

RoseValleyRambles · 26/04/2022 19:51

@fpeg ah, waiting. Sounds fun! :D hoping for a quiet night and some rest for you.

pregnancydiaries · 26/04/2022 20:37

@fpeg glad to hear they've managed to hold things off another day! And that you're enjoying the hospital food. My personal favourite from last week was the fish and chips, is that just a Scottish thing? 😂 hope it stays quiet for you. Is this your first? I can't remember. I weirdly didn't find the noise of the other newborn babies annoying, I just got jealous and wanted to cuddle them!!xx

fpeg · 26/04/2022 20:40

@pregnancydiaries yep FTM ☺️ I wouldn't mind the newborn babies it's the loud conversations on phones, etc. 😂 I'm so antisocial 😂 gosh and chips would be lovely, I'll have to see if it makes an appearance on the menu!

pregnancydiaries · 26/04/2022 20:41

Totally know the feeling. I kept my curtains around me the whole time 😂 and the woman across from me FaceTimed her husband (without headphones) from about 7pm - midnight. Every. Single. Night. Good luck!!!xxx

EarlGreywithLemon · 26/04/2022 22:00

Had a midwife appointment and growth scan this afternoon. The bump measured small, but the growth scan was all normal and the baby is on the 50th centile. He’s also breech, with his bottom by my pelvis and his legs to my right. Not that it matters, given he’s coming out through the sunroof. 😀
My C section is booked for 10th June, which I think is cutting it a bit fine with an officiant due date of 12 June. It’s also a Friday, so I hope I don’t get pushed to the next day or we’ll be stuck for childcare. That said, the midwife said I’d probably be one of the first in the day because of the PPH and heart, so hopefully it won’t run too late.
Oh, the urine dip test has also picked up something, so the sample has been sent off to the lab 🤷‍♀️.

beansprout55 · 26/04/2022 22:14

So so glad all still ok and you're being looked after @fpeg xx
@EarlGreywithLemon what centile were you measuring on the fundal height/tape chart? Interesting to see how far out it is compared to the growth scan measurements.
x

Prema112 · 26/04/2022 22:20

@EarlGreywithLemon That's great baby is 50th centile! I'm the opposite actually, bump measurements are bang on 50th centile but growth scan he was 25th centile! 🤷‍♀️

GrowBabyGrow · 26/04/2022 23:28

We had our gap and growth scan to check baby after yesterday's scare of her dropping from 75th to 25th on the fundal height measurement and all is ok! She's wonderfully average :)

Rolledthedice · 26/04/2022 23:30

@MrsNT yes mine is measuring a smaller femur too. However, like yourself the overall measurements are all within range (albeit 10th percentile overall) - so we were told not to worry and come back for another scan in 3 weeks to check that growth continues on the curve. So I would try not to worry too much, scans are not always accurate and the femur is hard to measure!

@fpeg gosh what a couple of days you’ve had! I hope things settle down and you continue to enjoy having a quiet ward with good hospital food!

@PeeAche2 so good to hear that your little one is doing well! I hope you are doing ok too?

I have a question about discharge. I’m 33 weeks and today it was a darker colour (sort of yellowy beige so with a tinge of light brown). I normally just see milky white on the pad. MW says not to worry and it’s just a change in colour as it’s not watery or smelly. Just wondering if anyone else had noticed changes in discharge?

Rolledthedice · 26/04/2022 23:35

Also with regards hiccups, my midwife advised not to Google it as the information it brings up scares pregnant mums when it’s actually a normal occurrence! I’m getting quite a few bouts of daily hiccups at the moment too.

Katiebaby13 · 27/04/2022 02:37

Eurgh having the worst night with indegestian. I've thrown up so much and currently propped up in bed not daring to lie back down 😞 Never struggled with it before pregnancy. Going to have to really watch what I'm eating and drinking. Had a lot of orange cordial today, wondering if it's that.

@fpeg glad you are being well looked after. Hope it stays nice and calm for you.

@PeeAche2 hope you are doing well.

Flowerbug1994 · 27/04/2022 08:00

What would you guys do about strength of movements ? I’ve had about 15 movements in past hour since waking but they are not as strong as I feel they have been

PleaseSendNoodles · 27/04/2022 08:14

@Flowerbug1994 It’s tricky! I find baby really varies with strength of movements depending on where she’s laying (I assume) BUT I think the overarching message is if you’re instinctively concerned, get checked. Doesn’t do any harm to play it safe.

also… this weird repeating post glitch is super annoying!

PleaseSendNoodles · 27/04/2022 08:16

Also… I’m starting a 24 hour journey home with a taxi, train, bus, 3 planes and a short drive home. Wish me luck. I think I might have overlooked the challenges being 32 weeks pregnant would present on this trip 🤦🏼‍♀️😂 BUT I got to see DH for a couple of days so it’s worth it! 💕

EarlGreywithLemon · 27/04/2022 09:00

@beansprout55 I think he was on the 3rd centile line on the chart, as far as I can work out! I had the scan booked anyway so the midwife didn’t discuss it in too much detail.
@Prema112 both are very imprecise, aren’t they? Is your baby head down? I wonder if the bump measurements are even more imprecise if the baby is in a different position.

Prema112 · 27/04/2022 09:01

Wow @PleaseSendNoodles good luck!!

@Katiebaby13 Sorry to hear about your indigestion, sounds awful! I felt very nauseous last night too, reminded me of the horror of 1st trimester, I didn't actually throw up though. Hope you're feeling better this morning and can rest a bit

Prema112 · 27/04/2022 09:02

@4thtimethecharm How are you and your little boy getting on? Thinking of you x
