@fpeg that's reassuring! The internet is a scary place when you google ICP!

My iron had been really good until the last blood test apparently. Annoyingly she didn't ring to say they were borderline but took the bloods again today to check as I'm so tired and pale. So starting the floradix now but think these results are going to show that it's below borderline

@Vimto1991 thank you! It does seem to be a bit of an inexact science so hoping its all ok. the itching is mostly a worry when its concentrated more on your hands and feet because it can mean there's a bile build up - my feet are ok in the day but at night I get woken up with the absolute worst itch. The joys of growing a human!

Vimto1991 · 25/04/2022 17:59

@GrowBabyGrow i had a really itchy foot the other day which could not be scratched! Been feeling a bit itchy on my legs at night so a little concerned 😅 I’m not clawing my body but between that and restless leg I’ve not slept well. Wish I had looked into it sooner!
cross my fingers your bloods come back fine :)

GrowBabyGrow · 25/04/2022 18:06

@Vimto1991 it can just be because our skin is more sensitive in pregnancy but definitely do get it checked! They've taken bloods to check liver function and bile levels to see if it could be ICP. Fingers crossed that yours come back fine :)

RoseValleyRambles · 25/04/2022 18:15

Yet another thing to look out for... My husband is the same re baby movement. I don't get why they're not obsessed! I certainly am!

BunBun221 · 25/04/2022 18:18

@EarlGreywithLemon I'm hoping to do 9.5 months statutory and OH can do 2 months fully paid, but trying to understand how exactly it works while I'm on statutory as my company are useless!

Brightsmoke · 25/04/2022 18:52

So, my baby is measuring at 99% abdominal and 91% head circumference. Legs are 76% too 🙄. He's already predicted to be 6lb 12oz, so if he continues to grow, I'm looking at a 9 1/2 - 10lb baby, which will be great for a homebrith without all the drugs 🙈. They were throwing around induction and ELCS, so not feeling great from it :( got my glucose test Thursday and another scan in 2 weeks if that's negative 😬

Prema112 · 25/04/2022 18:53

@Vimto1991 & @GrowBabyGrow my cousin had ICP and her itching was insane, just awful and non-stop so if it's not like that for you hopefully all is well. She had a completely healthy baby just had to be monitored a lot at end of pregnancy. As @fpeg said, bump measurements are very inaccurate so try not to worry too much Grow baby, hoping growth scan is perfect for you!

Prema112 · 25/04/2022 18:56

@Brightsmoke Sorry to hear they are suggesting induction and ELCS, remember you don't have to do anything you don't want to, and scans can also be off with weight predictions. In a way it's lovely you have a nice big baby- suggests he is growing really well and will be all lovely and chunky when he's born! Really hoping you still get to do your homebirth

beansprout55 · 25/04/2022 19:39

@Lostintranslatio 😂😂😂

@Brightsmoke is this your first baby?
My sisters first was 9.4, second was 10.4 - she had vaginal for both with just gas and air. Wanted to give you some encouragement if your heart was set on home birth that it is possible to push a biggen out!x
My second tape measurement tomorrow as I'm now 31 weeks so I'm soooo excited to see what centile we're on. My family all seem to have big babies so I'm expecting big boy!xx

EarlGreywithLemon · 25/04/2022 19:48

@BunBun221 are your OH’s company any better informed? You could ask them and see if they come up with a clearer answer. I was lucky and had 6 months fully paid, then some statutory, then some “enhanced statutory” - I.e. it was outside the statutory window but my company offer the equivalent of statutory anyway. My husband’s 2 1/2 months were unpaid.

destiEos · 25/04/2022 19:57

@JAR1981 the water before bed is working a treat for morning readings! I think the lower the better for post-meal readings, but as long as below 7.8 - all good! Think I might make it through the next month without insulin 🤞🏻 Hope you're keeping in top of yours too!

Octoblockisadick · 25/04/2022 19:58

@RoseValleyRambles I've had that cold, it's awful. Finally seem to be getting to the end of it after a week though. I've been putting olbas oil in my diffuser which seems to help, and I've got an oxymetalozine nasal spray because it says safe in pregnancy. You use it morning and night and it does seem to help with the congestion a bit.

@Vimto1991 so jealous that it's your last week in work! I have 4 weeks left and I'm definitely feeling it now.
Jealous of you too @fpeg ! I've worked out that I've got 17.5 days left in work now. If you take off the time for my appointments it's more like 16.5 though yay.

Hope everything is OK @GrowBabyGrow, was it the same midwife who did the measurements? Apparently there is a lot of variation between people.

@Brightsmoke my baby is predicted similar weight, I'm not going for a home birth but the consultant didn't seem bothered at all that I want a vbac on the midwife unit with no doctors there. She just said not a problem at all. A large baby with no other risk factors isn't considered a legitimate reason for induction (unless you want one obviously) so I would wait and see. The scans are notoriously inaccurate too.

I had a midwife appt today, apparently babies head is very low in my pelvis, right down in my crotch. Explains why I can't walk properly and can't sit with my legs together any more haha. Wonder if it means baby will come early?

Flowerbug1994 · 25/04/2022 20:46

Anyone else’s movements honestly just change all the time ???? One day am getting big kicks next day just squirming and turning. Nothing that remotely even resembles a pattern am 33+3 and on the edge today 😭😭😭

Brightsmoke · 25/04/2022 21:22

Thanks ladies 😊. I'm probably going to suggest a pessary induction and then ELCS if it doesn't work. It's my 2nd @beansprout55, first was a full induction and I categorically will not go through that again. I'm still hoping for a home birth, and my midwife is fab and fully on board currently. I just feel a bit gutted about how big he is, and that I might need an assisted labour again :(

@Octoblockisadick, I think it's more the current size and possible GDD that makes them want to consider other options. I'm hoping the scan isn't accurate, but I am a lot bigger than I was with my 7lb 15 son.

My baby is also really low, I can't walk far at all without discomfort now 😅

Roxystar23 · 25/04/2022 21:24

@Flowerbug1994 - Re:Movements - me!! Just over the last three days alone: Saturday - not much movement, the occasional kick. Sunday - occasional kick throughout the day but decided to have fun making my belly wobble in the evening - my stomach kept rising and falling and even went side to side at one point. Today - a few kicks this morning - not very strong ones. This evening - the strongest of kicks that it actually hurts. I don’t seem to have developed a pattern. I’m 34 weeks on Thursday.

Prema112 · 25/04/2022 21:37

@Roxystar23 @Flowerbug1994 I wouldn't say mine has a particular pattern either, only that he's definitely active in the evening and if he wasn't I'd call. But throughout the day 🤷‍♀️ Seems to change daily. I find I can't get up before I've felt him move in the mornings, I'd just be too worried!

Vimto1991 · 25/04/2022 22:06

@Prema112 im like this also! I don’t like getting out of bed until I feel a kick, just about to try and go to sleep after a stressful evening with my cats 🤦‍♀️ And can feel baby moving so that makes me happy, but had mad and strong kicks during the day through work which isn’t to pattern really! Think they’re just doing their own thing. 😬😬 makes it so hard not to be anxious.

Octoblockisadick · 25/04/2022 22:14

@Roxystar23 @Flowerbug1994 @Prema112 @Vimto1991 I wouldn't say I have a pattern as such either. Definitely when I sit down before bed to relax, but other than that it depends. I definitely get kicks when wearing a seat belt or if my stomach touches the desk at work though. Guessing he doesn't like the pressure!

Ah @Brightsmoke that makes sense. I definitely think my baby is big too, my daughter was 7lb 5 and I'm definitely bigger this time, and his movements are stronger so stands to reason he is bigger too. I wouldn't want the full induction process either, I've said I'll trial a balloon then straight for elcs if it doesn't work if I get to that point (I've decided on 40+10 for balloon, 40+12 for elcs of I get that far).

Flowerbug1994 · 25/04/2022 22:29

@Roxystar23 @Prema112 @Vimto1991 @Octoblockisadick I am the same stay in bed of a morning until he’s had a good wriggle and can’t sleep at night until he has also. But throughout the day it’s anyone’s guess still makes me super nervous. I’ve had a few painful movements today think it’s him being breech and getting stronger with them low kicks.
going to speak to midwife on Thursday about induction and c section if he turns in time for vaginal birth am just not fancying being induced my trust uses pessary for FTM’s and then drip. I think I might try pessary then go c section never heard anything good from that drip.

beansprout55 · 25/04/2022 22:40

Do any of you get vibrations? I don't get that many kicks these days, just rolls and jabs that can sometimes really hurt! Baby is very active in general, I won't go an hour without feeling him, but the vibrations I get every now and then scare me a lil. Will mention them to MW tomorrow. x

fpeg · 25/04/2022 22:43

So after feeling a bit crampy this afternoon, baby went a bit quiet, so I phoned and they told me to come in. I may be in early labour, baby has had some decelerations so we may end up with a section. If she settles down then it'll be drugs to delay labour to allow steroids to kick in. I thought I was being way over cautious and didn't bring my beautifully packed Hospital bag 😂 so we'll see where we end up!

beansprout55 · 25/04/2022 22:54

Gosh @fpeg! How many weeks are you? Were the cramps like contractions or just dull constant crampy? Praying all ok and they manage to stall things for as long as poss. You're in the right place and well done phoning in xxx

fpeg · 25/04/2022 23:23

@beansprout55 best I can describe it as was intestinal cramps coming in waves, they've been on and off this afternoon then suddenly got a bunch more together which is what prompted me to phone triage as just wanted to make sure that I wasn't ill and therefore going to cause a problem for baby. Turns out I am having some contractions, we'll see where the night brings us. 35 weeks tomorrow so she's well advanced enough to come along. Hoping I can keep her inside a bit longer, but after some initial tears when they said might be section tonight I've calmed down and am ready for whatever now!

fpeg · 25/04/2022 23:25

I've had my first steroid jab and they've given me pills to delay labour, second steroid 12 hours after first and if I go into labour after that they said they won't try and stop it as she's close enough to term. Long night ahead I think!

Flowerbug1994 · 26/04/2022 05:48

@fpeg hopefully they can get the steroids in you and if you need to deliver your at a very good gestation with steroids on board which is brilliant you may just get to meet babs a few weeks early…. Good luck xxxx
