@Prema112 just looked on which and have attached the photos of the two best ones which each scored 78%. All of them have a downside so it's just trying to work out which downside is the least problematic for you. Hope this helps x

DH upset me as I love watching bump move, but he doesn’t seem interested. He told me seeing the bump move is the same as seeing it previously and just goes back to his phone, but each time is so magical to me and reassuring, I was really hoping he would feel them same, infact because he can’t feel them I’d hope he’d want to see the bump more! After the movement scare on Wednesday as well I didn’t think he’d say that. 😬😭 we were about to play a game and I said give me a bit of time I’m watching the bump move and he kept being impatient like, are you good to go yet?? Between that and not really bothering with baby stuff it’s started to get to me. I know we have an automatic bond as we are growing them inside us, but if roles were reversed I’d be doing everything I can and fixated by bump!!

Prema112 · 24/04/2022 17:25

@fpeg Thank you! That Vava one looks really good actually

Prema112 · 24/04/2022 17:27

@Vimto1991 My DH is similar, occasionally he humours me by feeling bump move but I know he's nowhere near as amazed as I am about it!

Vimto1991 · 24/04/2022 17:28

@Prema112 it’s so odd isn’t it, you’d think as they can’t feel the bump move from the inside they’d be keen to feel it on the outside. Guess it must just be a man thing. 🙄

Letsbekindplease · 24/04/2022 17:31

Hey @Vimto1991 honestly my partner is the same. Baby 2 and he’s felt her wriggle when I ask but I can tell he’s just wanting to get back to his phone lol.
he also says he doesn’t like feeling because he doesn’t want to hurt her. Lol.
I suppose it’s different for us. We can feel them and it’s so magical. enjoy every second of it.
i won’t have another baby once baby 2 arrives so I’m trying to enjoy every second of movements.

my stomach is so achy today. I haven’t sat down much but I feel like it’s so right and sore beside my belly button.

Vimto1991 · 24/04/2022 17:38

@Letsbekindplease sometimes I want to throw his phone out the window, mine is the damn same!! It’s made me feel better (although not fair on you guys either) that it’s not just my husband that’s like this!

I told him this might be my only
pregnancy and in six weeks will not feel baby move from inside again so wanted just to feel/watch for a bit but I don’t think he got why.

hes now making dinner but I haven’t spoken to him in an hour 😂 I’d be okay but he hasn’t really apologised for upsetting me, and he seems to forget I’m pregnant and 1) more sensitive than usual 2) more hormonal than usual!

C1ueless22 · 24/04/2022 17:45

When we went for our john lewis baby appointment they recommended the Vtech range for baby monitors. We haven't purchased yet as he will be sleeping in our room, so will get when he moves into his nursery.

Also, re washing, i need to get washing all little ones clothes shortly, can anyone recommend a good detergent for baby's skin ... fairy?! We use a cheap one from Lidl that is great for us but thinking I ought to get a baby friendly one for the little man.

C1ueless22 · 24/04/2022 17:49

@Vimto1991 my DH is exactly the same, I was hoping he would be more interested in seeing movements but he's not too fussed. I reckon their interest will kick in once the little one's arrive.

Vimto1991 · 24/04/2022 17:55

@C1ueless22 same, I hope they, too! But it does upset me we spend practically ten months with the pregnancy and their job starts as soon as the baby is born and not before. 🙄 he hasn’t even bothered looking at things to buy on Amazon. He’s the sort
of person who puts things off or expects me to plan it. Men are useless. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

interested in laundry detergent as well as we got fairy non bio (coupon came with Emma’s diary), but no idea if it’s any good!!

Prema112 · 24/04/2022 18:01

@C1ueless22 Thanks the v-tech ones look pretty good too!

fpeg · 24/04/2022 18:10

@Prema112 it also gets 78% actually 😁

Nappy bags
Sleep suit
Dressing gown

@C1ueless22 - I spent about 5 hours researching baby monitors and the one you posted the link of is the one we purchased.

I was recommended Fairy for washing/conditioner as it’s good for sensitive skin - hoping this means it’s good for babies as I’ve washed baby bits with it today and switched from my usual combo of Surf and Lenor.

My pushchair bundle was delivered to my mum’s house today. We popped in on the way back from somewhere and I couldn’t stop staring at the car seat. I couldn’t believe that I would soon be carrying that out the hospital with my baby in!

Lots of episodes of baby hiccups - sometimes they last about 10-15 mins and can happen multiple times a day.

I still haven’t packed a hospital bag (34 weeks on Thursday) - my partner is starting to get a bit anxious and wants me to pack. I’m still on the search for nighties with buttons and a light dressing gown that covers my bum! I purchased maternity pads and breast pads in the weekly shop yesterday - so I’ve made a start.

Roxystar23 · 24/04/2022 18:20

Whoops and I’ve also just accidentally posted part of my baby shopping list!! Ooops! I wish there was an edit button!

sunflower198 · 24/04/2022 18:54

@Prema112 I have the BT 6000 monitor. It's my second as my first one only lasted about 18m (I can't remember the brand!) I got it on an offer so it wasn't £££.
It has been good and I still use it now for my toddler - it has a pretty decent range and battery life. A downside I would say is that it is quite zoomed in as standard but that works well for where we positioned the camera.
Another potential downside I can see is that you can't add another camera to it - which would have been useful for me personally this time around!

Prema112 · 24/04/2022 18:58

@sunflower198 Thanks! I've not heard such good things about bt monitors so it's good to have a review about a specific one

Northofthebordermum · 24/04/2022 20:04

Crikey can’t believe two of our little ones are already here!! Huge congrats @PeeAche2 and @4thtimethecharm and here’s hoping both you and your babies are resting up and recovering well.
I’m nearly 31 weeks and having sailed through the last few fairly easily (ok with the help of copious quantities of lactulose and canesten 🙄) I’m suddenly SO exhausted again and feeling so heavy and ungainly. The next 9 weeks are going to be LONG. We’re also in the last stages of a huge renovation and living out of a suitcase in temporary accommodation so have done absolutely zero to prepare for this baby.
We already have a two year old DS so figuring I’ve probably already got most things- now just need to work out which one of the 200 boxes they are in….!

EarlGreywithLemon · 24/04/2022 20:25

@Vimto1991 yes to day long nausea again! Almost like the first trimester, but without the specific aversions. I just don’t want any food, except fruit. And water doesn’t make me nauseous this time, which is a big plus.

Almost 33 weeks, and I haven’t packed my bag yet. I do have most things for it though, bar one or two.

We just used our usual washing liquid with our daughter and planning to do the same this time. Then again, no one in our families is allergic to any washing liquids/powders. I’m not sure non bio would have done enough for all the poo/vomit stains, and the amount of Napisan I had to soak them all in, it wouldn’t have made much difference for her skin 😬

AlbatrossSociety · 24/04/2022 20:51

Does anyone else feel like their bump has just changed massively in a really short space of time? I swear I woke up this morning with a bump twice the size of the one I went to bed with. Have escaped tummy stretch marks so far but I swear they are appearing literally over the course of the day!? I've also been able to feel baby moving loads more! We had our first NCT class today and I felt weirdly self conscious about my bump!? No idea why given everyone else was also pregnant.

My husband's quite excited about movements I think because baby hid from him for so long that he appreciates being able to feel them. But he definitely is not on the same page in many ways. Someone asked us for a list of our baby names earlier and he reeled off 4 names we've never even discussed. I asked him what he was on about and said we hadn't ever mentioned those names, and he said something along the lines of 'well it was something like that wasn't it?'... about the name of our baby!?!?! Blows my mind

slowrunningteacher · 24/04/2022 21:17

@sunflower198
We also have the BT 6000 monitor. It's great to see what our daughter is doing in her room when she's women up and got out of bed 🤣. The joys of a toddler (booted out of the nursery!).
I bought a second hand camera on Ebay and added it to the existing monitor, so we have one in the nursery and one in the toddler's room. It can be programmed to regularly rotate between cameras so that you can see them both. The second camera wasn't cheap but much cheaper than getting another decent complete set up and seems welll worth it.

beansprout55 · 24/04/2022 21:27

What are you planning on having your newborns sleep in for the first few weeks? Sleeping bag? Or just a vest and sleep suit? I'm reluctant to buy a sleeping bag just yet..... interested to know what you're all doing.

@Vimto1991 don't feel bad! My DH is just the same. He also gets annoyed at me because I make him look and feel bump every day when babies moving, but of course most of the time he stops as soon as DH looks. Then DH gets frustrated that I'm making him stare at my still belly for ages and gives up, then I get upset. It's not the same for them xx

Prema112 · 24/04/2022 22:06

@beansprout55 I'm planning on swaddling at first I a large muslin, so I hope this baby likes to be swaddled!

@Northofthebordermum A major renovation sounds pretty stressful in the third trimester! I feel a bit like I'm living in one too as we are doing lots of DIY to create more storage and our flat is a tip!

Annabell1 · 24/04/2022 23:28

Thanks so much @annie1994 @Octoblockisadick @PeeAche2. Really good to know that you just have to register the birth together and put him on the birth certificate. Doesn't sound too complicated.
@Octoblockisadick I hope you are feeling better soon.
@pregnancydiaries I'm glad you are better and home now.
@JAR1981 Good to hear that it was false alarm.
@4thtimethecharm I'm thinking of you and hope both of you are okay! Sending lots of love and strength. Flowers Congratulations mama! Smile

I will try raspberry leaf tea and also bought two big boxes of medjool dates.
And I got the Ecover Zero detergent, but I'm also using Persil non bio sensitive skin.
Tomorrow is my next midwife and ultrasound appointment. Can't wait to see her again. Grin Hope she will soon turn around as she is still transverse which slowly starts to worry me. Plus it can be quite uncomfortable at times.

JAR1981 · 24/04/2022 23:45

@beansprout55 we’ve got sleeping bags and I researched the brands which start at the lowest newborn weight. I have a couple of different ones to try (Puflo, Anais & Anais and Tommee tippee in different togs given the temp can vary in June a fair bit. I like the idea of swaddling but it looked complicated, especially after middle of the night nappy changes 😬

EarlGreywithLemon · 25/04/2022 03:01

@beansprout55 sleeping bags here - have some Tommee Tippee ones (what used to be Gro) that are suitable from 5lb weight. You can also button up the arms as a swaddle, but our daughter didn’t like that do we used them as normal sleeping bags. I can sympathise, I hate being constricted!
