I’ll join the raspberry tea team too. Will order some tonight
that’s lovely @Vimto1991 i always check to see if I’ve sprung a leak. I felt I was producing colostrum earlier with my son but nothing this far

I also don’t have the pregnancy line down my belly button. I had this with my son and for a year afterwards. Really loved that line. No line this time.

ive noticed I’m drooling when sleeping which is awful lol

Vimto1991 · 23/04/2022 20:45

@Letsbekindplease oh my god I woke up drooling last night!! Is this a thing?? 🙈🙈I have been checking for leakage, too, but today was the first time I had worn a white shirt with no bra. 🙈🙈

also my mom kindly offered the Moses basket I had when I was a baby. It’s been in the attic 31 years and is wicker, but both my parents smoke in the house and I have no idea the condition of it, also googling how long wicker lasts doesn’t seem to be that long. I’m so worried I’ll offend her, but I’ve seen a three in one rocker that transforms into a lie flat basket for a newborn. 😬

CurryandSnuggle · 23/04/2022 22:35

@Vimto1991 I’d thank her for her kind offer but tell her that the NHS doesn’t recommend reusing beds as it increases the risk of cot death (in reality it’s usually fine if you get a new mattress), however with them smoking in the house and old wicker potentially being weak it’s still a risk not worth taking.

PleaseSendNoodles · 23/04/2022 23:19

Hey everyone! I’m still here, just struggling to keep up. Congratulations @4thtimethecharm - I hope you’re doing okay. Glad your little boy is doing well despite being an early arrival! X

Vimto1991 · 24/04/2022 07:18

@CurryandSnuggle thanks for the advice! Yeah I’ll tell her this (although last time I discussed NHS guidelines she was very much in the camp of we didn’t do that with you and your fine 🙄) the rocker we’ve seen is this one:

Tiny Love 3-in1 Rocker Napper, Redesign Grey smile.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07T97DVFJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_XSJQZ2A36JA6DWCVK2ZB

just in case baby wants to nap downstairs!

woke up with period like pains this morning, turned onto my side (was sat up) and they’ve subsided. I think it’s the pressure of where the baby is sat quite low down, but the aches and pains of trying to get comfy is really starting to take affect. 😬 how have we got to almost May so quickly… yet we’ve been pregnant forever??

Katiebaby13 · 24/04/2022 08:35

Congratulations@4thtimethecharm @PeeAche2 hope you are both doing well.

I am enjoying reading this thread, I seem to get behind and always have a few days worth to catch up on. I am going to order some raspberry tea, I'm 32 weeks today.

I've definitely been experiencing the belly button pain, weird feeling. Also had what felt like period pains yesterday but nothing so far today.

My DP has told me that my snoring has stepped up a notch last few weeks 😂

Brightsmoke · 24/04/2022 10:08

@Vimto1991 could you just pretend someone has gifted it to you? And say you'll take theirs for upstairs but then it happens to disintegrate? 🤷🏻‍♀️😬

Also in the snoring and dribbling camp here 😅

GrowBabyGrow · 24/04/2022 10:56

Psyching myself up for an afternoon of fake smiles with my in-laws. They are really excited to be grandparents but also very heavily in the 'pregnancy is a miracle we should never complain about' camp and just don't listen when we say how hard it is for me. So they expect me to be all chirpy and gushy and glowy and not grumpy, sleep deprived and uncomfortable. My FIL will plonk himself down in the only armchair that I can now comfortably sit in without triggering my PGP and won't understand why he has to move. Wish I could hide upstairs until they leave!!

C1ueless22 · 24/04/2022 11:29

@GrowBabyGrow I get really frustrated when people don't seem to understand how difficult pregnancy is, amazing but also very hard especially this last bit. I keep beating myself up and getting emotional as I don't seem to be able to do much without needing a rest these days.

Easter Sunday I was meant to be going to my SIL for dinner but was exhausted so couldn't face it, dropped her a note to that effect and she replied that if I changed my mind then to let her know. Change my mind!!! SIL that has had 3 kids herself ... assume people just forget what it's like!

Suppose if you haven't experienced it then maybe you don't realise but the fact someone is carrying a tiny human, is being beaten up internally and has to waddle to get anywhere you think would be a good indication!

I've realised how independent I was, however if anyone was to offer some help right now I would bite their hand off although noone around me seems all that interested. Suppose i had hoped it wouldnt just be me and DH excited. Said SIL the last time I saw her said she "forgot I was pregnant"!! and have seen my own sister twice during my pregnancy, one of them a fleeting visit!

DH is amazing but he's currently on a set of shifts so if he's not working then he's asleep.
X

annie1994 · 24/04/2022 12:01

Went to a hen do yesterday and feel like I’m suffering from a ‘pregnancy hangover’ - sore back and hips from being on my feet a lot and sitting on uncomfortable chairs, headache from how loud the music was, acid reflux from the 3 course meal and knackered from not going to bed till gone midnight 😂!

GrowBabyGrow · 24/04/2022 12:26

@C1ueless22 yes my MIL barely had any symptoms when she was pregnant so they can't understand what's hard! Definitely relate about siblings not being as excited as you'd hope, although we have brothers on both sides so maybe was expecting a bit much for them to be super interested in supporting us through the pregnancy part!

@annie1994 oooft well done for going! I'm impressed. Are you able to have a more relaxed day today?

PeeAche2 · 24/04/2022 12:40

For whomever it was that asked about ensuring both parents have parental responsibility when unmarried: you both have to go and register the birth together and mum has to give permission for dad to be listed on the birth cert.

Source: my husband went and registered our baby's birth today and he read it on a poster.

PeeAche2 · 24/04/2022 12:42

Also, I'd just like to join in with MIL mini-moan. My MIL had 2 6lb babies, 10 years apart, in the 1980s.

She seems to have conveniently forgotten that pregnancy can be anything other than a happy memory and had no patience with any of my symptoms.

I mean, tbf, she is a machine. She's 60 and goes rock climbing.

Flowerbug1994 · 24/04/2022 12:58

happy Sunday girls… just wondering how often is everyone getting baby hiccups ? I googled and obviously it’s a minefield that makes you panic.
also Heyy @PeeAche2 how are you and your gorgeous baby getting on ??
another thing whilst am asking what’s the percentage of people who have hospital bags packed at 33 weeks. Am 33+2 and everyone seems to be asking me if it’s don’t I was going to wait until about 35/36 should I make a start ?

Letsbekindplease · 24/04/2022 13:04

I haven’t packed mine and I’m 34 weeks on Wednesday. Hoping to do it this week when toddler is in nursery.

hellointhere · 24/04/2022 13:22

@4thtimethecharm @PeeAche2 congratulations to you both! I've just been catching up on the thread and my jaw dropped when I read the news. How incredibly overwhelming it must have been. I hope you're feeling better after some sleep and hope you're healing well.

This last week I've been shopping, organising, prepping. It's a lot of work!

I went to my first NCT class and was dreading it but after the initial introductions I really enjoyed it, I like the teacher and already feel like it's helped my partner and I a lot.

@Vimto1991 hmm you've got me wondering whether the moses basket my mum picked up at a charity shop is worth the hassle, dawning on me I've no clue what kind of house it's come from.

I am really enjoying the Sarah Beth Yoga on youtube, if anyone has been struggling to find a video that suits them.

fpeg · 24/04/2022 15:38

@Flowerbug1994 34+4 here and hospital bag packed (did it just over a week ago). Hiccups every day often multiple times x

JAR1981 · 24/04/2022 15:47

Good reminder on the raspberry leaf tea ladies, I keep forgetting to order but just order but just sorted! Also 34 weeks is the time to start thinking about the dreaded perineal massage so ordered some oil for that too. Gulp.

@Octoblockisadick hubs back tomorrow thank goodness, then no more going away before the baby is due. Although I’ve had my parents to stay this weekend. Me and mum washed all the baby clothes yesterday which was lovely. My mum did keep telling me however that she didn’t remember so many aches and pains in her pregnancies. She was less than half my age pregnant with me at 19! I was well looked after though with them doing all my ironing and gardening 🤣 and dad not complaining about the lack of carbs with his meals!

Hospital bag will be packed next weekend at 35 weeks. I’d intended to do it sooner but also feel a bit in limbo before my 36 week scan in case I need to change to a c-section.

@PeeAche2 @4thtimethecharm thinking of you and you’re little ones, hope all doing well x

JAR1981 · 24/04/2022 15:57

@Flowerbug1994 @fpeg i was having them 3-4 times a day early last week. Had none on Friday, twice yesterday and then bump woke me up with big hiccups at 7am this morning. Google is def not your friend with hiccups but most of the scaremongering seems to come from US sites for some reason. This was reassuring: utswmed.org/medblog/fetal-hiccups-pregnancy/

Prema112 · 24/04/2022 16:43

@JAR1981 @fpeg @Flowerbug1994 Urgh is there something bad about lots of hiccups? My boy is the hiccup king, multiple bouts everyday.

Haven't packed hospital bag yet, 34+5. I figure my body won't go into labour with it unpacked as I won't be relaxed enough which I know it's total rubbish but makes me feel better about it not being ready! I need to get to a boots/Aldi and buy nappies/pads/breast pads etc then I can pack it. I packed it at 37 weeks last time

Prema112 · 24/04/2022 16:44

@JAR1981 Urgh perineal massage, I don't want to!! Didn't help me last time but I suppose I'd better try...

fpeg · 24/04/2022 16:46

@Prema112 I've not looked into bad things about hiccups, I have read from several sources though that you can expect them to increase from 32 weeks, which is exactly what I found and that they are a very common occurrence. I'm not concerned in the slightest and neither was my midwife when I told her about them really having ramped up. I think like lots of things on Google if you look at any symptom the answer is cancer or death 😂

Prema112 · 24/04/2022 16:47

@fpeg Ahh good thanks, I'll stay away from goggling it I think!

Prema112 · 24/04/2022 16:49

Anyone got any baby monitor recommendations? We didn't have particularly good ones last time and every time I look into them none of them seem to have amazing reviews, except maybe the £300+ ones and I don't want to spend that much

Vimto1991 · 24/04/2022 17:10

@Flowerbug1994 baby’s currently
on their third set of hiccups in a day. Think they’re annoyed by these ones are they keep wriggling. 😅
