@PeeAche2 huge congratulations! Your post made me cry as I thought about all the stress you must have felt! I'm so glad you're both safe and thank you for being a lesson to us all on trusting our instincts! I wish you both a speedy recovery, make sure you stay on top of all the pain meds and don't wait to become painful (everyone who I've read has had a section seems to give this advice). Please keep us updated on Baby Peeache's progress xxx

RooSut25 · 21/04/2022 07:07

@PeeAche2 Congratulations! So glad you're both doing well, and hope baby PeeAche grows big and strong and you get to bring her home soon!

unknownscot · 21/04/2022 07:17

@PeeAche2
Oh wow! Congratulations on the safe arrival on baby ❤️

Prema112 · 21/04/2022 07:24

@PeeAche2 Oh wow wow wow!!! You have an outside baby!!! So many congratulations!! The first baby of the thread!! You probably saved her life by going in when you did, you're a wonderful mummy already. Wishing you a speedy recovery and praying baby goes from strength to strength. Lots of love to you xx

pregnancydiaries · 21/04/2022 07:37

@PeeAche2 CONGRATULATIONS!!! I just cried for about an hour straight when I read the news, not sad tears, of course, but our first mumsnet baby! So glad to hear little precious is doing well and such a healthy weight too. Hope that mum is being well looked after, too.

I am SO angry at your midwife. Irrational anger actually. She should have encouraged you to get checked, not the opposite. Grrrrrr

So much love xxx

pregnancydiaries · 21/04/2022 07:39

I feel like we have created such a bond in this community. I feel like you are all friends, mumsnet doesn’t feel like the right place and I wish we were all closer in location, that makes me sad. Xxx

@JAR1981 @InvisibleDragon Thank you so much for asking. I'm doing ok. They found an E. Coli infection running through my body which they took pretty serious to avoid Sepsis, so hooked up to IV antibiotics. Hopefully on the right treatment now. After my poor partner panicking he'd poisoned me, they confirmed it has likely stemmed from my kidney shutting down and not filtering waste appropriately. They took my catheter out last night and I've managed to pee, all by myself!!! 😂 Have a growth scan this morning then the consultant will come round to make a plan, desperate to get home. Xxx

@JAR1981 what are the results? I had this test the other night - longest 5 minutes wait, ever. Hope that you are ok. Sending lots of love xxx

Prema112 · 21/04/2022 07:46

@JAR1981 Hope all is ok and the fluid wasn't your waters.

@pregnancydiaries So pleased you're doing a bit better and so hope you can go home soon!!

RoseValleyRambles · 21/04/2022 08:14

@pregnancydiaries Hurray for catheter removal! And great that they've worked out what's up. Hope you're home soon.

PeeAche2 · 21/04/2022 08:16

Good morning everyone. I'm a mum! 🥺😱🥲
Baby PeeAche has a tiny infection but I'm assured it's nothing and pretty "normal" for preemies. My little girl is tiny but she's not even the tiniest one there! I met a woman yesterday who's baby was born at 27+4. She said that her baby is barely bigger than her boyfriend's hand!!

She's being transferred today though (to a children's hospital) so I don't think I'll get to actually see the baby.

My baby doesn't need to go to any other hospital. Which is a relief because this one is almost an hour from my house. If she had to go any further away, I think I'd die.

I had my own room last night because the girl I was supposed to be sharing with got sepsis and wheeled off. Sorry for her but amazing for me. Being transferred to a ward this morning though. 😒

Thank you all for your well wishes! I am in total shock. My stitches are way more painful today than yesterday.

Also, I had a spinal block instead of an epi which was so freaky!!!

So, @JAR1981 , what's the craic? You okay?? And @Vimto1991 .... get checked!!!!

Annabell1 · 21/04/2022 08:21

@pregnancydiaries So good to hear that you are being treated and things start to get better. I hope you can go home soon.
@JAR1981 Crossing fingers it's not your waters.
@DaimDillyDoo I would probably also get the pram home to wash and air it.

I had my first physio session yesterday. So I'm hopeful that my back pain will get better. 🤞🏻
Xx

Vimto1991 · 21/04/2022 08:36

@PeeAche2 awww that’s fantastic! Hopefully she will fight off the infection quickly. Hopefully that hospital isn’t too far away from you? Do they have any accommodation nearby? I know McDonald’s actually have free accommodations near some hospitals for parents in this scenario. Hopefully you get to see her soon!!

I did go get checked in the end, we were at triage at 2:30am, I got hooked up to the monitor and baby started moving, heart rate seemed fine for the half an hour we were hooked up so we were out and home by 3:45am. I should have gone in way sooner despite everything being okay, I kept putting it off as I was so scared!! I have someone fitting two doors today so I can’t get a lie in, so tired today. 🙈 but I am glad I went in, the midwife was lovely, she said never hesitate, they’d rather check the baby is okay at the end of the day, and she thinks it’s because the baby is head down now and with my anterior placenta I can’t feel her as much.

Prema112 · 21/04/2022 08:48

Sorry @Vimto1991 I missed your post. Definitely get checked if worried, Peeache's story shows the importance of instinct. @PeeAche2 you're a mum!! I'm so happy for you! Are you able to feed her at all yet? Is she with you in the room? Heated box?

Prema112 · 21/04/2022 08:49

Oh and I missed your second post too Vimto! Glad you went in and all is ok! X

Roxystar23 · 21/04/2022 09:37

Huge Congratulations @PeeAche2 ! Such wonderful news to wake up to this morning! SO relieved to hear that baby girl has entered the world safely and is now with her momma! Hope she manages to fight the infection off soon and hope your soreness eases off soon too! hugs

@JAR1981 & @pregnancydiaries - I hope you're both doing okay! I will be watching out for updates from you both to see how you and your little ones are doing.

@ChildOfFriday @Prema112 - I feel too exhausted to walk up the stairs after work to where I have stored the few things I have already purchased for my hospital bag after work - let alone, try to pack - so I feel ya! I definitely have a gut feeling that my baby will come early. I just went to wash the newborn clothes I have purchased and was shocked to find that I seem to have skipped smaller sizes and instead have purchased everything in 3-6 months! Therefore I now need to do a panic shop. @JAR1981 – I’m with you on the daily Amazon Orders! Although - @Vimto1991 - I didn't even think - if baby is super early and in NICU - as you say, this would give a bit of time to send my partner out shopping for emergency teeny tiny clothes! Hope your friend delivers the crib soon! Last night was the first night in forever that I didn't have to get up to pee or take a Rennie - It was amazing - Although - I still couldn't sleep. :(
@Octoblockisadick - I seem to be in a similar situation to you - Midwife reckons baby is measuring on 50% but scans are showing around 85%. I have another growth scan next week so will be interesting to see where baby plots then. My baby doesn't keep still during scans and instead likes to try and hide and do as many somersaults as possible so is a bit of a nightmare to measure. I haven't gotten one nice scan photo yet because of all the movement.

InvisibleDragon · 21/04/2022 09:38

That sounds like good news @pregnancydiaries - hopefully you get too go home soon!

@Vimto1991 Glad you got checked and everything is ok! I know what you mean about the small low-down movements. My baby had a day at the weekend where he mostly did this all day, but no big kicks. He's been back to kicking and pressing himself against my belly/ribs for the past few days though!

Vimto1991 · 21/04/2022 09:59

@Rolledthedice @PleaseSendNoodles @InvisibleDragon
Oh wow, fellow anterior placentas, it actually makes me feel so much more relieved to know your movements have changed into the same as mine! Big rolls one day, little fingers in our pelvis the next! At least we know what is to be expected going forward, just scary when I didn't realise that can be normal with front placentas, considering I felt so much movement before and how big the rolls are on some days compared to quiet days! (but they have been transverse for god knows how long lol...) They love to keep us on our toes! 6 weeks 6 days to go...😅

@jar
thank you for asking for me! when they say keep an eye on the pattern it's so difficult if I thought the pattern was how much or how strong the movements were! I'll remember that even if it's a small movement, it's still a movement within the time I expect! :)

Letsbekindplease · 21/04/2022 10:07

@PeeAche2 congratulations. I have been thinking of you since your admission. Glad all is well and baby is earth side. You must be smitten. So happy for you

destiEos · 21/04/2022 10:34

@unknownscot c-section at 38 weeks - they have me the choice of date between 38-39 weeks and I requested as early as possible, as long as it didn't negatively affect baby. Obstetrician said that was fine.

destiEos · 21/04/2022 10:37

@PeeAche2 - I read from oldest to newest, so just saw your fantastic news 💕 Many congratulations to you! How lovely that she's here. So very happy for you both. Xx

destiEos · 21/04/2022 10:44

@DaimDillyDoo completely understand how you feel. I'm guessing the boxes were taking up a load of space (ours are - we put everything together and then put it back in the boxes again though, because we wanted to keep them dust/cat fur free!) I don't think anyone remembers how it feels to be pregnant at all - I get so many comments like 'eh, I managed without x', 'i never had x health issue', 'you don't need to buy x'.... Everything is so extra special when you're having a (first) baby, you're allowed to be a little precious, I think.

Take it all apart, wash it, put it all together again and tie a big ribbon round it - you can put all the special back 😉💕

destiEos · 21/04/2022 10:51

@EarlGreywithLemon just saw your reply to @DaimDillyDoo 😂 I should read before posting, think I said almost exactly the same as you!

@Rolledthedice lol at 'baby Peeache' 😆 very cute.

@Vimto1991 I joined the 'I'm not sure about movements' club yesterday - having been sure that wouldn't be me. You have to go with your gut, everyone at the hospital is totally understanding and not only that, they insist you come back if you have any worries in the future - even if, as in my case, there was nothing wrong when they monitored you. Doc suggested a cold glass of water and lie on left side, if you still don't feel little one is doing anything/enough - give them a call. They told me to go in straight away - I think at this stage they don't take any chances and would rather rule things out.

PeeAche2 · 21/04/2022 10:55

Oh no, she is not with me in the room. She's in another room, on her own and I can visit her as often as I like. Can't stop staring at her. Honestly, she's the most beautiful thing I've ever ever ever seen.

She's being fed breast milk via tube but donor breast milk, not mine. I've been given some tablets to make mine come in and I'm stimulating with a hospital breast pump, which is way better than either of the breast pumps I've bought myself!

I'm on a mission to be a milky mamma ASAP. Then she can have my milk via tube instead.

destiEos · 21/04/2022 10:57

@JAR1981 everything ok? The mum from my ante-natal class whose waters broke last week didn't actually have the baby yet!

@pregnancydiaries glad to hear you're getting better, get well very soon! 🌷

@PeeAche2 how lovely to wake up a new mum, now I'm crying too - happy tears, of course! 🌈

@Vimto1991 also missed your second post. Glad everything is fine 🌼

destiEos · 21/04/2022 10:59

"I can visit her as often as I like. Can't stop staring at her. Honestly, she's the most beautiful thing I've ever ever ever seen"

Ok, now I'm bawling. How wonderful! 🥰

sunflower198 · 21/04/2022 11:01

Ahh @PeeAche2 congratulations!
Glad you are both doing well x
