@pregnancydiaries sorry you're having such a rubbish time on the pain control front, hope it sorts itself out very soon!

JAR1981 · 17/04/2022 15:28

@pregnancydiaries sorry to hear you’re in hospital and being passed between departments. Hope they get a plan together for you and the pain meds have now kicked in.

@PeeAche2 so pleased you’ve got your mat pay/leave sorted.

Is anyone else counting down the days until mat leave now? Only 18 more for me and I simply cannot wait!

Had a bit of a stressful day today as baby hasn’t been moving so much. Or at least I haven’t felt them so much. I’m not sure if they’ve shifted position again, it’s changing to the GD diet or they’ve run out of room. Argh! I thought I was over the reduced movement stress. Just reclined on the sofa for 45 mins and they’ve started stretching and wiggling again but feel like I’ll be on high alert for the rest of the day. Please can the next 6-7 weeks hurry up and baby arrive safe and well.

imhereforthecake · 17/04/2022 16:17

@PeeAche2 Grin I'm either rolling about or waddling about now

@pregnancydiaries, I am so sorry you are in pain, and hope you get out of hospital soon! Hoping for a good recovery!!

@PeeAche2, so pleased things have worked out. What a relief! But your company definitely sounds like a bunch of immoral *rses, so I agree you might want to look out for something else long-term. Onwards and upwards and all that!

@JAR1981, wishing for a very lively baby for you tonight so you can relax a little.

@destiEos, hoping you are doing ok. I am telling my tiny one every day to 'grow grow grow'.

Very pleased with this long-ish weekend, which is really lifting the spirits. I hope you are all enjoying yourselves! So pleased we are slowly all getting to the final bit of our pregnancy. Let's hope for easy births and healthy babies, and a glorious summer with our newborns.

Vimto1991 · 17/04/2022 21:12

@JAR1981 god yes, my last shift is in 12 days! Having this long weekend has made me look forward to it as I’m dreading work on Tuesday and I can’t be in the mindset like that when I’m also dealing with pregnancy! I worked all through Christmas and I cover bank holidays, they asked me to cover this one and I was like hell nah. 😂

Hope everyone is having a lovely long weekend :)

Vimto1991 · 17/04/2022 21:14

@JAR1981 sorry double tag I pressed post before reading everything! 🙈 atleast you are still feeling baby move, that’s a positive! I wonder if GD makes them wriggle slightly less as you’re less likely to have lots of sugar and carbs? Then again, mine has quiet days, too. They’ll have a mad day and be exhausted the next I find 😂

PleaseSendNoodles · 18/04/2022 05:09

Hey everyone. Happy Easter to all those who celebrate. I have family visiting so have been a bit absent. Apologies! Just caught up with allllll the pages! @pregnancydiaries how are you doing? Sorry you’re having such a rough time 😞💕

JAR1981 · 18/04/2022 07:48

Morning everyone, hope you’re enjoying the long Easter weekend. @pregnancydiaries hope you’re doing better now.

Pleased to report I had a v wriggly baby overnight 🥰. It’s my birthday today so have a lovely long dog walk planned followed by a pub lunch. Husband is chuffed as I finally let him make the snuzpod last night I think he’s very proud of his handiwork 🤣

PeeAche2 · 18/04/2022 08:09

HAPPY BIRTHDAY @JAR1981 🎂 🎊 🎉!!!! xxx

Flowerbug1994 · 18/04/2022 08:43

My baby sure likes to keep me on my toes 3 days of nothing buts turns and squirm movements that had me worried that I was getting no big kicks. This morning no turns or rolls just about 10 big kicks 😭😭😭 these movements have me up the wall all day everyday 😭😭😭

RoseValleyRambles · 18/04/2022 09:23

Squirming is definitely the right word for this phase! My bump keeps getting all lumpy as her sticks various body parts out. Grin

ALHCTPS · 18/04/2022 09:35

I was hoping my second son would be a calm baby. Not a chance in hell, given how active he is. Party baby seems to be doing a circus act 24/7. Longing to have my abdomen back.

PeeAche2 · 18/04/2022 11:56

My bump is also being very "lumpy". Sometimes she rolls and I watch it and it freaks me out a bit! Even my husband was aghast. Apparently neither of my step children were this mobile...

Sometimes the kicks actually hurt too. I didn't know that could be a thing.

I'm 32 weeks now and the movements have changed so much. I'm not actually counting my kicks, which might be the wrong thing. But I know when I expect her to move and I know I would notice a change straight away. I did try a bit of kick counting but it was really stressing me out and I generally just prefer a more relaxed approach.

We went to the cinema this week with the kids and the bass sent her crazy. By the time we left I was actually nauseous.

Is it possible to get internal motion sickness? 😂😂😂

pregnancydiaries · 18/04/2022 13:52

Thanks team for all your well wishes - you're all the best ♥️

Little update. Catheter still in and still just as sore. They think that the machine I have which helps control my kidney is over stimulating the bladder while the catheter is draining it, so the pain is caused by them doing competing things...if that makes any sense. Unfortunately the people that deal with the machine are very specialised and, of course, not around on Easter weekend...hoping they can get hold of them tomorrow for some answers.

Controlling the pain with dihydracodeine which despite google causing alarm bells I have to trust the obstectric consultants that work on this ward every day and believe that it's safe. Still not taking it quite as regular as they'd like. They have baby hooked up to the monitor quite regularly, so that's giving me some reassurance I guess.

Looks like I'm going to be here for the foreseeable so it's nice having you all to vent to!xxx

@JAR1981 happy birthday!! That sounds like the perfect wee day 🎂

fpeg · 18/04/2022 14:16

@pregnancydiaries rubbish that you're likely to be there a while but good news that bubs is being regularly monitored and is doing ok! Hope they can make you more comfortable tomorrow when the right team is back in.

@JAR1981 happy birthday to you 🥳

AlbatrossSociety · 18/04/2022 14:43

@JAR1981 happy birthday!!

On my way to attempt another 4D scan as baby wasn't in a good position for the last one. My husband was disappointed at 20 weeks when he found out we wouldn't have another. I did try to say it's a good thing as means they are not worried but we thought we'd give tye 4d thing a go. Although they did say 27 weeks is ideal for anterior placenta and I'm currently 31.

@pregnancydiaries I hope they can sort themselves out a bit tomorrow and find a better solution for you because that absolutely doesn't sound ideal!! Is there anything you've got in with you to help you pass the time?

Vimto1991 · 18/04/2022 14:51

@JAR1981 happy birthday! Have a lovely day :)

@pregnancydiaries oof, that sucks they aren’t in to help you today. I hope it goes as smoothly as it can and can be sorted tomorrow when they’re back in. I assume you HAVE to have the catheter in? Otherwise if all it’s bringing is pain can they not just remove it today?

AlbatrossSociety · 18/04/2022 17:07

I don't know if anyone remembers the pelvic floor workshop I was talking about ages ago but she's doing a free webinar on Monday evening so thought I would share in case anyone was interested. www.subscribepage.com/pregnancy-yoga-webinar

Not only was baby not in a good position so we couldn't see anything, they offered a growth scan and baby's current estimated weight is 4lbs 8oz and abdominal circumference in the 95th percentile. They are doing a referral to the midwife at my hospital. I had my gtt 3 weeks ago and my bloods were normal so have to guess its just a big baby? Anyone else with any similar experiences? I have a midwife appointment tomorrow where I'll have to discuss it with her and not sure what to expect

destiEos · 18/04/2022 18:37

I wrote out a bunch of things yesterday then the app crashed and I lost everything 😢 Attempt 2:

@EarlGreywithLemon I'm in love with these ones: little-seeds.co.uk/collections/sleeping-bags 💕 We have a blanket my gran knitted for me and my sister, so I'll be using that if baby wants an extra layer.

@RoseValleyRambles it's been lovely, hasn't it? I was planning to sit in the sun on my new sun loungers, but a) DH decided to spend the last couple of days sanding and staining the garden furniture, and b) the loungers are arriving on Wednesday 😂 Yes, the day it's predicted to rain and temperature drops to 15C 😬 @Vimto1991 DH shaved my legs for me a few days ago so I could wear a frock! I did go and get a pedicure though, I thought that might be a bit too far to make him but my toenails 🤢 Oh - and I had a tankini link for you, damnit! I'm going to post this, then go find it in case of another crash.

@InvisibleDragon sorry to hear your mum suffered from depression, it must have been hard for both of you. I was a messy kid, who grew up to be a tidy(er) adult. Although I agree it's the mental/emotional load rather than the physical one, of doing all the admin.. You're very lucky your husband carries most of that, I've not seen it in any other M/F relationship!

Annabell1 · 18/04/2022 18:42

@pregnancydiaries I'm so sorry to hear. Hope you are better soon. 💐
@Vimto1991 Thanks a lot. I think she finally had hiccups over the weekend. 💕
Crossing my fingers that non of you gets covid before the delivery.
Happy Birthday @JAR1981 🌷🎈🎂

Hope everyone had a lovely Easter break. 🐣 We went on a road trip with a few friends. It was so good. 😍

unknownscot · 18/04/2022 18:50

I'm on day 2 of iron supplements and just had explosive black diarrhoea - anyone know if that's standard or should I contact midwife tomorrow?

destiEos · 18/04/2022 19:05

@Vimto1991 this was the one I found: uk.cakematernity.com/products/coconut-tankini?colour=khaki but I've just noticed it's £60! I prefer this one myself: www.seraphine.com/en-gb/palm-print-maternity-swimwear-tankini-ss22/ not halter neck though, also I waited ages for Seraphine to deliver last time I ordered and didn't like any of the things I ordered ☹️ Not much help after all, sorry.

@PeeAche2 very glad to hear you your work situation sorted, I'd start looking at other opportunities anyway, once things start to go bad it's not worth trying to fix them in my experience. But wish, maternity leave - whoo! I'm booked in too - I'm off for the rest of this week, I need to take the beginning of next week off for DH's grans funeral and then 2 more weeks of work and I'm done! 🥳

@CurryandSnuggle thanks for thoughts, I'm fluctuating between tears and worry and continuing as if everything will be fine 🥺

@fpeg thanks for graphic! I'm still confused by the names of things though - B&B explained that 'vests' are in fact babygros with no arms or legs, which helped a little... But so many names to learn..ugh

@sunflower198 thanks for EMCS info, the obstetrician was certainly on-side with that decision, so I'm not sure exactly how 'elective' mine is. But I'm happy with my choice, so reassuring to hear from someone who's been there!

@pregnancydiaries sorry to hear all you've been going through, it sounds like they're taking very good care of you and baby though, hopefully the pain meds are doing some decent work and try not to worry, they will avoid giving you anything problematic unless necessary and remember you have to look after you first to be able to look after baby 🙏🏻

@4thtimethecharm thanks, I'm also telling him to grow and stretch and be long and hoping he's listening. He's still very lively and hopefully doing ok in there and just a little shorter than other babies 🤞🏻🍀

Today I bought maternity pads and breast pads - a pack of each(40 I think) from Tesco. I have no idea if they'll last days or weeks? Also, no Bounty packs, they're out of stock. This is a huge Tesco.. If they're out of stock there, I guess everywhere will be?

Digested iron comes out black in faeces, that's why if you have an intestinal bleed you get black faeces. Most people get constipated with iron but it is possible to have the reverse. Might still be worth contacting your midwife to be sure xxx
destiEos · 18/04/2022 19:27

@JAR1981 Happy birthday! Hope it was lovely 🎂🎁🎈

@AlbatrossSociety as far as I understand anything within 5th-95th percentile is normal. I think they only worry if you drop outside those and even then, I believe they need more than one value out of range to be concerned at all.

@unknownscot - exactly what happened to me 😔 unfortunately only one episode and then back to constipation again. See how it goes, I'd say - I would get some lactose in though. I'm taking 30ml a day (along with the 200mg of ferritin) and things are still on the firmer side. Also TMI, apologies.

Vimto1991 · 18/04/2022 19:40

@destiEos

Thanks for the links! I can’t believe how much they are exploiting us for how expensive they are! Even Amazon was expensive but I found this one and ordered it in the end:

www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/navy-spot-stripe-maternity-tankini-e3306.html

Hoping to get a few uses out of and to also give birth during jt!

Got our first growth scan tomorrow 32+6. A little bit nervous! Hopefully baby will be okay!
