16+1 at time of the picture, but also third baby

annlee3817 · 12/04/2022 09:50

@madeleine85 are you able to see a doctor before Friday to get checked out? With the progesterone you said yourself that that didn't think it was necessarily needed and that it was just a precaution, so hopefully all will be fine. Didn't realise you were given progesterone tablets, may he asking if pessaries would be better and less mood affecting as they are going direct to the source so to speak. No idea if they will be, worth an ask though. Hope you're feeling better today

LittlemissMama67 · 12/04/2022 09:51

Has anyone found out what they’re having or thought about names? We were unsure about boy names we have very different tastes we’d somewhat agreed on Arlo but we had a girls name set in stone. We found out on Sunday that baby is a little girl so 100% going to be a little Orla 💜

annlee3817 · 12/04/2022 09:51

@Carebear99 I had my 20 week scan this morning and they confirmed girl as per the NIPT test, so thought I'd let you know

Carebear99 · 12/04/2022 09:53

@annlee3817 thank you so much for thinking of me. How did your scan go?

annlee3817 · 12/04/2022 09:54

@Sweetbabydust1989 welcome, sorry about your previous losses, congrats on your rainbow baby

Celyn22 · 12/04/2022 09:58

@madeleine85 I am sorry to hear of your 4am worries! It’s so challenging when we get caught in thought-loops in our head! I had that yesterday and was fortunate to have the time to take myself for a very short walk till exhaustion took over and I lay on the grass amoungst the celandine flowers. Nature recharges and grounds me. And I am lucky to live in a wild natural place, plus it’s easier to do that at 11am rather than 4am!!

I’m sending you flower power, hugs and kisses to recharge your batteries. Keep checking in with your super duper body.

You mentioned dehydration... one practise I use when I’m not drinking enough is to set an alarm on my phone once an hour to drink a glass of water. It gets really annoying and inconvenient very quickly but it has worked for me. You could also do a similar thing for saying some affirmations and positive visualisation practices.

Please feel free to tell me to butt out too if you just want to be heard, not fixed! I can take it :P

TotoAnnihiliation · 12/04/2022 10:05

@LittlemissMama67 we are having another girl. We have a few ideas for names but are keeping them quiet as we learnt that with first DD that people have no problem being rude about your chosen name. DD has suggested trampoline and soup as potential names for her sister.

LittlemissMama67 · 12/04/2022 10:07

Agreed! My step dad asked if we had a name for the baby, I said Orla and he straight up said No don’t like it 😂 like Ok?

Thanks for the input but it’s still her name

annlee3817 · 12/04/2022 10:30

All great with the Anomaly scan, was fascinating to see everything they checked for, last time they did all the measurements and then showed us the baby, this time she talked us through and showed every little step. Can't believe I'm half way :) exactly 20 weeks today

annlee3817 · 12/04/2022 10:31

Same here, keeping the name quiet as everyone likes to have an opinion. Whereas if we announce when she's born they can't say anything!

LittlemissMama67 · 12/04/2022 10:39

I’m very used to people having an opinion on my names, my DS’s name is Rex and that went down like a lead balloon on my family, but you’ve just gotta go with what you love at the end of the day, he’s 7 now and very much suits his name

Carebear99 · 12/04/2022 10:41

I've been having cramps today. I'm sure it's normal but I'm a worrier.

For those using their 20 weeks scans are you due in August? I'm 18+4 today. Scan when I'm 20+5

LittlemissMama67 · 12/04/2022 10:44

Can I just ask is anyone receiving pretty much 0 antenatal care? My first midwife appointment was in February and my next one is end of June, almost 4 months with nothing. It dosnt seem right. Especially as I was admitted to hospital at 11 weeks for high blood pressure

annlee3817 · 12/04/2022 10:53

@Carebear99 I'm due 30th August, but joined the sept group originally as going by conception my due date was 1st September.

@littlemissmama67 I've only had one face to face appointment with the midwife which was at 6+4, my 16 week one was a bit of a cock up and just a quick phone call, and won't see a midwife again until 28 weeks. I'm under the consultant though due to high risk and age, so luckily see them every three weeks. Otherwise I'd have a massive gap

Carebear99 · 12/04/2022 10:55

@LittlemissMama67 you should have a 16w midwife appointment. My 16w one was a waste of time but you should still have one

Carebear99 · 12/04/2022 10:59

@annlee3817 I'm so pleased your scan went well.

stimpyyouidiot · 12/04/2022 11:05

Yeah we don't tell anyone the name before because someone inevitably will be an arsehole about it and make you doubt it! If you tell them after they can't do it :)

Although I did have people moan about her middle names 5 days pp 🙄

Belle2210 · 12/04/2022 11:12

@annlee3817 That's a great photo ☺️. Glad your scan is all good.

@madeleine85 Be worth speaking to a midwife or doctor I'd say if your feeling crampy like your previous early labour to put your mind at rest. No harm in phoning them 💕. I've noticed I've felt more stretchy/crampy this week which I'm assuming is normal so would hopefully just be that.

In a bit of an odd situation. We've had our private gender scan done however don't find out till our reveal on the 21st May which is so long away 🙄. Have so much on the next few weekends and then the couple we had free our nearest couldn't make it. Anyways I have my NHS 20 week scan on the 21st of this month which ideally would've been great to have a second confirmation of the sex. Did I see someone say though that they won't write it down for you? Also do they only check this if you ask I'm guessing?

As mentioned been much more crampy stretchy the last week (19ws today) and I think I may have noticed baby changing position. My placenta is at the front and baby was lying transverse at the last scan, now I think they have turned head down as I've felt some pressure downstairs and less movement as they'd be behind the placenta more now.....thats my theory anyways 😂.

Oh my gosh! You have the patience of a saint

LittlemissMama67 · 12/04/2022 11:15

But no they won’t write it down for you

annlee3817 · 12/04/2022 11:20

@Belle2210 once all the measurements were done, we mentioned that the NIPT had said girl and assumed no way it could be wrong and she checked for us. She wouldn't have bothered I don't think had we not mentioned it.

Also, all trusts are different, some will write it down, some won't.

@Carebear99 worth mentioning it to the midwife for some reassurance if you're having some cramps, I definitely get some stretchy pains, they remind me of the ovulation pains I had pre pregnancy that would radiate on either side sometimes.

@stimpyyouidiot
Can't believe they commented on the middle names pp, what did they say?

IzzyLeigh · 12/04/2022 11:42

Welcome @sweetbabydust1989! So sorry to hear about your previous losses but so happy for you and your rainbow baby!

@madelieine85 you’re definitely bound to feel some echoes of worry since you had such a time with your last pregnancy. I wish I could say not to worry, but obviously I don’t know enough. It is encouraging that headaches and cramps can be normal parts of pregnancy though, especially cramping after sex. Also a positive is that you’re in a different place this time regarding the eating disorder and over exercising. However, you know your body and if something feels off then you need to trust that. While you’re hopefully fine, I’d still say to call your doctor first thing this morning and tell them about your concerns. In the very least, maybe they can squeeze you in with an NP or PA to give you a quick pelvic and put your mind at ease until Friday? If they can’t, maybe they’ll tell you to take it easy or something until then, just in case. Either way, it’ll be comforting to hear from your doctor about it. Keep us posted. I’ll be thinking of you.

@Peauela every time I go to take a picture I think “Sad maybe it’s not that different from last week after all.” Maybe in a couple days! It feels totally different now though and the round ligament pains are in full force, which I’m hoping means it’s growing growing growing!

@littlemissmama67 lovely bump! And yes, we’re naming our daughter Finley Smile Orla is such a lovely name!

@TotAnnihiliation soup! Hahahaha

@annlee3817 congrats on the scan and that everything went well! What a fantastic picture! This also feels like a huge milestone for our little group too as I think you’re the first to undergo the 20-week scan here! Thank you for always being our intrepid pioneer Grin

@LittlemissMama67 oh, and I adore the name Rex as well!

We both picked a middle name each. I didn't particularly like his one but it was fair as we agreed her first and then picked one name each. My family (3 separate people!) had a go at me because it sounded like his mums name (think along the lines of Christine and he picked Chris) even though it wasn't picked to be anything like hers at all he just liked it because it was a flower name.

I had picked a name that was my SILs nickname, not her real name, just because I loved the name.

So they all went at me saying I'd hurt everyone by naming my child after his family. I went downhill badly at 3 days pp and went into severe PND, feeling like everyone was judging me and I couldn't be a good mum and it didn't help at all. Was horrible. My mum didn't speak to me for ages, even coming round and not saying a word.
