@izzyleigh mine is on Tuesday, I'll be 20 weeks exactly :)

ShiningStarz · 05/04/2022 14:18

A week today @annlee3817 how exciting!! Can you feel any movement yet? Iv tried sitting still, lying on side and tapping my belly but nothing yet! Can't remember when I first felt my first born !!

annlee3817 · 05/04/2022 14:23

@ShiningStarz yes, mainly in the evenings, tickles mostly, and the odd kick. I get a feeling of pressure and a little long lump appears, when I touch it, it goes away again :) like she's pushing up. Timeline wise it's been the same as my last pregnancy, I kept a journal so have been comparing

SoOverThisCrap · 05/04/2022 14:42

@annlee3817 @ShiningStarz how many weeks are you both?

annlee3817 · 05/04/2022 14:44

@SoOverThisCrap I'm 19 weeks today

ShiningStarz · 05/04/2022 15:02

@SoOverThisCrap I'm 18 weeks tomorrow. Haven't felt anything yet I don't think. I have tried sitting still and tapping my tummy, but nothing! I'm glad iv a scan tomorrow. I think I'd find it really hard to wait until next week.

stimpyyouidiot · 05/04/2022 15:16

Had my whooping cough vaccination today. Feel like a pin cushion haha. Anyway, at least that's over with.

GlitteryGreen · 05/04/2022 15:46

Oh @IzzyLeigh I have just seen your post about your sweet dog, I am so sorry. It is heartbreaking to lose a dog, they are always so missed. We lost our boxer-lab cross in Summer 2020 and I was devastated, and still sometimes tear up thinking of him. He's recently been made my phone screensaver and I have a photo of him next to my bed. Hope you're doing ok x

GlitteryGreen · 05/04/2022 15:55

I don't think I have felt anything yet, I am only 17 weeks yesterday though. I sometimes get a little feeling of pressure in the evenings but could easily just be from my dinner Confused.

I will be relieved (and creeped out 😂) when I start feeling movement, it's so difficult to know nothing about what's going on between appointments without constantly dwelling on bad outcomes.

ShiningStarz · 05/04/2022 16:07

@GlitteryGreen I could have written your post myself!!! I'm 18 weeks tomorrow and no matter how much I try to feel something there's nothing. Hopefully movement comes soon 🤞🤞

EverydayIsPJday · 05/04/2022 16:15

Sorry to hear your sad news @IzzyLeigh I hope you're ok.

Had my 16 week check up today (at 15+4) and the midwife found the heartbeat so I'm feeling much better knowing baby is OK. My next midwife appointment is now not until 28 weeks though which seems like a lifetime away. Midwife said they check less for subsequent pregnancies so have to assume its OK 🤷 20 week scan isnt until may 10th so alot of waiting around for me to drive myself crazy 🙁

On the upside the clothes bundle I almost lost my marbles over has sold so I can't be tempted anymore. I obviously will won't be checking vinted again either....

madeleine85 · 05/04/2022 17:23

For anyone wanting a nice little workout (I remember some discussion at the weekend), I just bit the bullet and did a Peloton prenatal yoga class after a walk/run and it felt lovely. It felt a little like giving in to lower my exercise levels, but actually felt nice to breathe a little and the stretches felt absolutely wonderful to be honest. I know Peloton often has a month free trial for the app etc, so might be worth a check if anyone is looking for some with decent prenatal workout content.

LionPen · 05/04/2022 17:51

Has anyone not had their 16 week midwife appointment?
I'm 18+4 FTM and haven't received an appointment, shall I chase them up or is this normal?

stimpyyouidiot · 05/04/2022 18:04

I would ring them @LionPen ! Seems like maybe they've missed you

annlee3817 · 05/04/2022 18:44

@LionPen I had to give mine a nudge to get mine booked

Carebear99 · 05/04/2022 19:06

I've still got 3 weeks until my 20w scan, I can't wait until it's here. I'm 17+4, no movement yet either

ShiningStarz · 05/04/2022 19:42

@Carebear99 drink something sweet like a glass of orange juice and lie back with your feet up in a quiet room. Hands on bump and eyes closed.. I just did this and think I can feel wee flutters, could easily miss it tho it's so slight! Let me know how you get on

Redapple21 · 05/04/2022 21:10

Ah @IzzyLeigh I'm so sorry for your loss, it's absolutely heartbreaking to lose a beloved pet. My dog died last year and I miss her so much.
I have my 16 week appointment tomorrow (even though I'm 17 weeks) - feeling a little anxious! Someone below has mentioned measuring the cervix at this appointment, is that right? Hopefully the midwife can find the heartbeat and help me relax a little. As you have all said it feels such a long time in between the 12 and 20 week scan! I think I am starting to feel the tiniest of flutters, and also what some of you have described as pressure, so it's good to hear other people are experiencing the same sorts of feelings 😊

SoOverThisCrap · 05/04/2022 21:41

@Redapple21 I had my midwife appointment yesterday (I'm 15 weeks 5 days) but they didn't do any internal checks or anything to do with the cervix. She just did my blood pressure, checked my urine sample and listened for the heartbeat 😊

Belle2210 · 05/04/2022 21:55

Just been catching up.

@IzzyLeigh So sorry for your loss 😔 Losing a dog is hard enough but even more so when it's sudden 💕. Allow yourself to grieve. I think that letting emotions out causes less stress on the body than trying to keep it together would 😘.

@bluesky27 glad you're feeling a bit better.

@madeline85 I really need to get back into exercise. Feel so lazy. Hips are definitely temperamental just now. Start pregnancy physio classes in May and yoga in a couple of weeks so this will hopefully help.

18 weeks today 😳 can't believe it! Movements have been getting stronger and bump is beginning too pop properly. Had my gender scan on Saturday although we wont know until we get a reveal organised looking like next month as our weekends are so busy. Was lovely seeing DH see bean for the first time though. I actually asked about my placenta position as it's never been mentioned and I'm surprised it's at the front. She said that I'll be feeling movement at either side of it which makes sense.

Getting to grips with my pregnancy pillow although DH is missing spoons while I'm in my cocoon 😂. Other than that I feel like my heartburn is trying to kill me.

Glad everyone else is getting on fine ☺️.

annlee3817 · 05/04/2022 22:16

@redapple21 are you in the UK? Cervical checks aren't standard unless you've got a reason for it needing to be checked.

@belle2210 impressed you're able to wait, I'd be far too impatient, hope you can get a weekend sorted soon :)

madeleine85 · 05/04/2022 22:44

@Redapple21 they won't check cervix unless you have a cancer cell history or premature birth type issue from a prior pregnancy. Likely just a doppler check i'd assume if that is the case for you

veryberrie · 06/04/2022 00:49
