Some Kailons...

body boarder
cooling system
dwarven cleric

louii · 04/01/2008 20:05

If its a made up name then surely you can make up the spelling.

Does sound a bit like bum medicine though, sorry.

hunkermunker · 04/01/2008 20:05

rdk, you probably expected a thread full of MNers going "wow, what a gorgeous name".

I'm not normally this mean, btw. I've had some very bad news today and you're taking the brunt of it, which is unfair. But I can't seem to stop.

Quite a lot of Kaylons when you google.

wb · 04/01/2008 20:08

Isn't it an Irish name? Sorry, don't know the spelling but from how you've written it it sounds like my half sister's stepbrothers son's name (remote relationship so never seen it written down).

louii · 04/01/2008 20:08

and Cailons, seems a pretty common name actually.

There is a Kailen in DS's class (pronounced Cay-len).

hunkermunker · 04/01/2008 20:11

On the 2005 Feb postnatal thread, weren't you, Tipex? Narnia?

Watters · 04/01/2008 20:13

Hang on, whatever you may think , it does sound like the name of a medicine. Hunker, I agree with you!

What other names have you??

MerlinsBeard · 04/01/2008 20:14

not that i want to be jumped on, but hunker isn't the only one who thought it sounded like a bum med

DavidTennantsMistress · 04/01/2008 20:14

tum - that's also how kahlan is pronounced.

rdk - didn't ask for ridicule yet she seems to have come in for quite a lot which is a bit mean really. I mean I don't nec like every child's name I know - doesn't mean I ridicule the mother about their choices.

Watters · 04/01/2008 20:17

There is an irish name Keelin, its a girls name, was that what your mil was thinking of?

Or theres Chaoilfhionn also, pronounced chaoilin

rdk · 04/01/2008 20:17

i was asking too see if anyone had a better way of spelling it but its obvious most of you like to be plain and boring people so forget it

Tipex was on that post natal thread but she was never on that thread, and AFAIK was totally hurt by the whole thing and left MN for a time because of it. I'm sorry for whatever's happened today, Hunker, but I think taking it out on rdk is unfair

DaisyMoo · 04/01/2008 20:19

I thought it was something you put on sunburn Oh no, hang on, that's KaOlIn.

Seriously you can't ask for opinions on how to spell a made-up name and not expect some unasked for feedback

Bluestocking · 04/01/2008 20:20

You know those names that just tell you everything you need to know about a child before you've even met it?

SpawnChorus · 04/01/2008 20:23

"You know those names that just tell you everything you need to know about a child before you've even met it?"

Bluestocking - you're usually very reasonable, but what a load of tripe. Shame on anyone who makes assumptions on anyone (and particularly a child FGS) due to their name. Ugh.

armyofme · 04/01/2008 20:25

whether you like the name or not, is it really necessary to be so rude? why shouldn't the op ask for opinions on this? if you're not interested in this why bother posting on it?
