@Mattieandmummy congratulations! 💕

HotToddyColdSauvignon · 03/03/2022 09:26

Congrats @Mattieandmummy!

Loladiego38 · 03/03/2022 10:42

Congrats 💕Just had 20 weeks scan too
And found out he's a boy after 2 girls
And I have all sisters
I'm in shock !!

All fine except he is currently breech , (I thought something felt different )

He apparently is extremely awkward to scan
At 12 and 20 😳🙄🤪 it took numerous goes. It's times

And my placenta is posterior and very low to my cervix so we have got to have another scan at 34/36 weeks I think

Has anyone had any experience of this ? Xx

UncomfortableBadger · 03/03/2022 11:02

Sorry chaps - I lost the thread when it moved over. Delighted to hear about those of you that are having good scan results.

Sadly we’re back in hospital next week for a third attempt at the anomaly scan. Baby is mega low down, breech, curled up in a ball and on their left side so the so sonographers can’t get a good view of anything meaningful. Starting to feel mega fed up with it all now

NamelessBaby1 · 03/03/2022 11:39

What a shame @UncomfortableBadger, hope baby behaves next time!

Turns out what I thought was just a cold is actually COVID, got a positive LFT this morning. Midwife said I'm the 5th of her mums to test positive this week!

missv556 · 03/03/2022 13:26

Just tried to put on some jeggings that I had pre pregnancy cos I've been living in leggings and wanted to wear something different. They don't fit anymore 🤣 got to my hips and they didn't want to move any further. Need some maternity jeans I guess

CaptainCarp · 03/03/2022 14:03

Congratulations to all that have had their 20 week scans & found out (or not) what they are having.

@UncomfortableBadger glad you found us again & fingers crossed baby behaves for your next scan!

@Loladiego38 i have growth scans at 32+36 weeks which they are checking my placenta has moved on as well but mine was only slightly lower so they were hopeful it would move naturally.

@NamelessBaby1 i hope you dont feel too ill with it!

@CaptainCarp Thankyou :)
Also do you find you are extra uncomfortable
I’m getting loads of bract on hicks and just general pressure and fullness really low
I can feel him kicking but just wondered if this was usual with the placenta and upside down baby issues xx

annie1994 · 03/03/2022 15:50

@Loladiego38 for my first son I had a low lying placenta and was rescanned at 34 weeks I think it was and it had moved up itself. I believe normally it does this and causes no problems. If at 34 weeks yours is still low/ covering cervix they recommend planned caesarean

strawberrysummer19 · 03/03/2022 18:04

@NamelessBaby1 oh no! I tested positive yesterday! Have you been given blood thinning injections? I started mine today - also been given a heart and oxygen monitor for my finger - my oxygen levels are fine but my heart has been 80-100 today sometimes over 100 so feel that's been a bit of a worry now! Will see what my midwife says tomorrow as she is now calling daily for 2 weeks - are you having the same?

I have my 20wk scan next week
No obvious movements for me yet - only a couple of times
But I do have anterior placenta which the sonographer said at my gender scan this is probably why

Congrats to all the 20 week scan updates ! Can't wait for mine next Tuesday esp as I now have covid but again have heard lots of people getting it lately x

ChinChilly · 03/03/2022 19:04

I seem to have lost the thread when the new one started..ops!

Had our 20 week scan today, and I've left feeling so fed up there was obviously some staffing issues at the hospital today but the sonographer was so miserable he hardly spoke a word to us the whole time, lots of huffing and puffing.. didn't talk us through anything he was doing and I've got to go back in 2 weeks because he couldn't see her profile. I've had a flick through the notes and it looks like her belly is >99% centile and femur length less than less than 1% so she's all belly and virtually no legs...surely that can't be right? At the end of the scan I asked if everything was ok and he just said 'yes' we didn't even get a picture he just said they'll do you one next time 😭😭 I am obviously hormonal but i could actually burst into tears it was that miserable of an experience

NamelessBaby1 · 03/03/2022 19:37

@strawberrysummer19 oh that's interesting, no my midwife just asked me if I had any family history of clots and then told me to try and keep moving around as much as possible (which I've failed at). I think I'd prefer to have the monitors for peace of mind though, I can't help but be paranoid about the impact this might be having on the baby, and feel like I'm counting the time between feeling movement just in case! I don't even feel all that bad, it's just fear of the unknown really!

@ChinChilly oh what a shame! I didn't get any information on measurements and whatnot, she just said at that point they are checking all the body parts are looking right and so on. I thought I was going to have to go back for a second time though, but baby turned around last minute to let them see everything they needed. What a shame you didn't even get a picture though :(

strawberrysummer19 · 03/03/2022 19:49

@NamelessBaby1 is it different with each area I wonder ? I've drank so much as I feel so thirsty as my throat feels so sore and dry - and moving around well.....we've moved house today and everyone keeps telling me to sit down ! Relax which I haven't over done it but I have quite a bump so my lovely mother in law who has still come over and helped even though me and lo have covid and having removal men and a Tesco delivery shop I feel so lazy!! I've definitely kept moving, I keep sitting and then thinking ohh I'll just do that little box 😊 I've hardly any movement so that makes me worry in itself! But I know lots of people who say they've had covid and baby is fine but still it's horrible isn't it
I just want to fast forward a few days and feel well and have my scan!! Are you getting lots of movement ? X

Coco9910 · 03/03/2022 20:19

@ChinChilly oh no that sounds horrible! Especially as it’s such an intense scan, you need a bit of reassurance after it I imagine! Hopefully when you go back the next sonographer is friendlier and talks you through everything!

@NamelessBaby1 oh no hope it passes quickly and you feel okay! 💕

@missv556 I’ve got some maternity jeggings from H&M which are really comfy as I felt like all I was wearing was leggings 😂 just bought another pair on depop!

Is anyone getting a bad back? I’ve found that my back has been aching if I stand up for too long and I had a meeting yesterday where I was stood around for about an hour and a half and I’ve had such a bad back since..it’s on my risk assessment that it gives me a bad back so I feel like I’m going to have to mention it again.

Fizzybubblegumbottles · 03/03/2022 20:47

I hope everyone’s ok!
I’ve just tested positive for covid this evening feeling ok atm just a little cough and headache 🤞🏻 Caught it from my son who tested positive on Monday! I’m feeling baby move so that’s reassuring I’m 22 weeks tomorrow. Gonna call the midwife tomorrow and see what she says.

@Coco9910 I work with SEND children so on my feet pretty much all day and my back does hurt if it’s been a day where there hasn’t been much opportunity to sit down.. which can be most days! I do try to take regular sit down breaks but doesn’t always work out lol!

strawberrysummer19 · 03/03/2022 20:53

@Fizzybubblegumbottles oh no another one I think that's 3 of us now? I can't wait to start feeling movements
I do from feeling achey Ill to better then back to achey ill! X

Fizzybubblegumbottles · 03/03/2022 21:04

@strawberrysummer19 I tried so hard to dodge it! 🤣 is this your first baby? How far are you? Hopefully you will feel movement soon 🤞🏻 This is my 3rd so been feeling movement since 14.5 weeks but is a lot stronger now and feel it more often. Hopefully symptoms won’t last for long 🤞🏻 My son was lucky he was extremely tired the first day and the second day he had a headache and felt sick and has been fine since.

Coco9910 · 03/03/2022 21:05

@Fizzybubblegumbottles hope you’re feeling okay and it passes quickly! I work in an office job so I’m sat down majority of the day, probably why my back can’t cope being stood up for so long 😩😂 I can’t complain when you and others work on your feet most of the day 👏🏼 take my hat off to you!

strawberrysummer19 · 03/03/2022 21:21

@Fizzybubblegumbottles I've tried so hard too!
It's my 2nd but she's 10yrs so feels new again!
I'm 19+3 I've had movement I'm sure - one evening I definitely felt loads and I'm getting little
Bubbles and popping but nothing too obvious but thinking maybe because of my anterior placenta maybe, just thought because it's my 2nd I'd start sooner and more! X

Fizzybubblegumbottles · 03/03/2022 21:24

@Coco9910 thank you 🙂 bless you! It’s rewarding but can be very challenging! Then I get home and have to sort my 2 children out so on my feet even longer most days I’m shattered by the afternoon🤣 I’m rolling on the Easter holidays.. 2 weeks off 👍🏻

Fizzybubblegumbottles · 03/03/2022 21:27

@strawberrysummer19 my sons 10 too! Going up to secondary in September 😬 oh that does sound like movement hopefully gets stronger soon.. that’s probably why you haven’t yet I know mine is posterior so feeling everything. I can’t remember when I felt it with my second but he is 5 now so was a while ago x

NamelessBaby1 · 03/03/2022 21:34

@strawberrysummer19 oh my goodness I can't imagine moving house on top of everything else, well done you! You must be tired tonight though!

Wouldn't say it's a huge amount of movement, but just enough every few hours or so to reassure me that all is well.

@Fizzybubblegumbottles can't believe that's 3 of us now! Hope it doesn't get any worse for you than that, and that your son is ok too.

Fizzybubblegumbottles · 03/03/2022 21:41

@NamelessBaby1 I know hopefully no one else 🤞🏻thank you, I hope you feel ok too! His fine thank you wouldn’t even know he had covid now 🤣

ChinChilly · 03/03/2022 21:50

@NamelessBaby1 I kind of wish they hadn't given us the report with the measurements on because without any explanation behind them they don't really mean anything but I'm abit of a worrier especially with the previous losses I find it hard to believe we may actually be bringing this baby home so seeing the measurements one extreme to the other made me panic abit.

@Coco9910 I'm absolutely dreading it being the same sonographer next time, his whole attitude was like we were just an inconvenience.

strawberrysummer19 · 03/03/2022 22:21

@NamelessBaby1 sooo tired nor sure if from pregnancy, moving or covid or all!
Absolutely shattered
Feels more Like a cold now. I can work from
Home if I want but I may have a sick day
I've had 2 days off for moving
There's just so much to do but the actual house is lovely and I can't wait to get settled properly x
