Had the 27 week Rh and HCG bloods done today and have to say apart from the extra weight this time I feel like I'm doing even better than my first pregnant 5+ years ago. I know I had exhaustion because of iron deficiency the last time, then constipation when I got a supplement, and back problems aswell as the pains under my breasts. This time it's just an extra gigantic bump and the pain under my breasts which is manageable using the support belt. Keeping my fingers crossed it stays that way and that the bump stays around it's current size Grin.

How's everyone else feeling?

strawberrysummer19 · 12/04/2022 15:09

I feel absolutely exhausted!

Only 25 weeks but really feel lately bump is huge, legs and calves feel so heavy and going up and down the stairs or even dropping something on the floor is tiring !

Can't remember this with my 1st?! I feel breathless when going up stairs or making the bed - and just sooo tired

I feel like when I read about this stage it should be the glow! Doesn't bode well for the later stages

Remember feeling fed up and heavy but much towards the end last time but that was 11 years ago and I'm now almost 40!!!

X

Coco9910 · 12/04/2022 18:18

@strawberrysummer19 I feel the same! When I bend down to pick something up I feel like I’m doing a squat with a weight and walking up the stairs is hard! The past 2 nights I’ve had a sore shoulder and hip from sleeping on my side (shoulder on my left side, hip on my right side) so not been sleeping too good. And then my partner tells me I woke him up because I was “huffing and puffing” 🙄😂 I was like “sorry I was uncomfortable and in pain!” But today I am feeling all achey and tired!

I have my 25 week midwife appointment tomorrow..what happens at this appointment?

MollyRover · 12/04/2022 18:56

Ya now that you mention it I've been having problems with stairs since about week 9 Grin. I've never been in the lift at work before 2 weeks ago but I've given up walking up the stairs now! Do toss and turn and switch my bump pillow from side to side but it's not bothering me too much I have to say. Just part of the joys, isn't it Wink

strawberrysummer19 · 12/04/2022 19:09

@Coco9910 that's exactly it!!! I've been sleeping on my left for as long as I can remember and it's sooo uncomfortable it goes numb. I have rib pain too.

I haven't got mine until I'm 27 weeks as my midwife said something about measurements at this appointment and sometimes it can be too early so she's rather do at 27? Didn't really make any sense to me but just went with what she said. Let me know how it goes x

CaptainCarp · 12/04/2022 19:54

Good luck to all having their glucose test. Only done 5 days & it's a pain in the arse!

@strawberrysummer19 i felt really tired at 25 weeks as well. Did wonder if baby had a growth spurt as i felt better the following week.

Currently got a suspected sinus infection so sleep has gone down the pan a bit! Got some antibiotics so hopefully it clears up soon.

We've got a changing unit for upstairs & a baby bath with changing mat top for downstairs in the bathroom as well. I've got a bit of a dodgy back so thought the fewer nappy changes on the floor would probably be better.

@Coco9910 I had my 25 week appt at my GP, my hospital only recommend it for FTM for some reason so the midwives don't schedule it. It was just a basic checkup, urine test (so don't pee before you leave the house like I did, I only managed to give him a thimblefull!), a heartbeat check using a doppler, and the first bump measurement to start tracking growth.

I've got my 28 week appt next week, and was looking up the glucose check I have to do, for some reason mine seems different to everyone else! I've actually got to buy some glucose tablets myself, then put 17 of them..yes 17!! into a glass of water and drink it exactly an hour before my appt time, then when I get to the hospital I've got to let them know exactly when I drank it so they can take the bloods at the right time. I'm not sure if its a full test or like an interim one as its called the Mini Glucose test. Anyone else got this?

Coco9910 · 12/04/2022 21:59

@strawberrysummer19 so uncomfortable isn’t it! I try to switch sides during the night but not sure what to do. Was contemplating getting out of bed and going in the spare room to try and sleep sat up 😂

@SPea ahh amazing thank you for the info! Yes mines at the doctors with the community midwife..think she does a day there every Wednesday. I was hoping they would start measuring the bump! That glucose test sounds crazy!! I haven’t heard of anyone doing one like that before. I hope it goes well!

missv556 · 13/04/2022 11:59

Well I had an eventful morning. Went to see my midwife for a routine check up. She went to check baby's heartbeat with the doppler, she was having trouble finding it even though we could both feel him kicking through my belly. So she sent me to the hospital delivery suite to be checked over there. Anyway they were able to find his heartbeat straight away so my little rascal was just playing hide and seek before. Honestly I might as well move into the hospital at this rate with how often I'm up there these days 🙃

Lianna93 · 13/04/2022 12:23

@missv556 Haha what a cheeky chap 🙈 Glad he's okay!

I just had my glucose test - first blood draw was grand, nurse was fantastic. Drink tasted not too bad 😂 Second blood draw, ended up pale & clammy afterwards so wasn't allowed to leave until I had a biscuit & a drink 🙈😂 So glad it's over with now though - if I don't hear back by 4pm, then I'm all good 🤞🏻

Anyone else had their results yet?

missv556 · 13/04/2022 12:35

@Lianna93 yes my midwife had my results waiting for me this morning, no GD here so happy days. Only waited 48 hours for the result

deliwoman1 · 13/04/2022 12:51

@Lianna93 I got my GTT results on Monday. No GD... yet anyway. Easter eggs still allowed but I panicked myself so I'll be taking it easy! Levels: 4.7 after fasting for approx 8.5 hrs, 5.7 about 2hrs after the drink.

Also had my Anti-D injection yesterday. A lot of fluid in that jab! I felt it for about five minutes but that was it.

It feels like things are intensifying now!

My munchkin has done that to us twice so far! Was a bit disturbing the first time but the second time I was like "Nice, free scan!!"
Coco9910 · 13/04/2022 14:17

@missv556 oh I bet that was stressful! Glad he’s okay and was just hiding from you!

I had my 25 week appointment this morning and told my midwife I’d been a little worried as the baby hadn’t been as active the last couple of days and she said if I’m still worried after today to call triage, but she listened to the heart beat which was good and had a feel for the baby and could point out where her bum was and said she got a kick back from the baby and the baby has been super active since so feeling much better!

Glad everyone’s GD appointments are going okay! @Lianna93 I think I’d be the same, I’m not a fan of needles so having to do it with no food in me would write me off 😅

Lianna93 · 13/04/2022 14:21

Results are back already - all normal for me 😁

Feeling very tired & cold now, so off for a nap 🙈😂

Horsesforcourses23 · 13/04/2022 15:42

Hi all, ok I am 25 weeks and saw midwife yesterday and mentioned I have not felt baby yet at all. Heartbeart and everything seemed ok, she said if nothing by next week they will send me in for a check.

Has anyone else had little to no movement?

NamelessBaby1 · 13/04/2022 16:47

Oh you've all for your GD tests back quickly! I was told it might be a week before I hear anything - in a way hoping it is so I don't know over Easter haha.

Movements have been funny for me so far, the other day it was so strong and causing my whole stomach to jiggle around (super disturbing lol), but usually the movement feels a lot more subdued and further back or something. I'm sure it's just to do with what way they are facing, and as long as I can still feel any movement at this point I'm happy. Hope all is ok at the check for you though Horses

Capricorn8990 · 13/04/2022 19:01

@Horsesforcourses23 do you have an anterior placenta? I've had 4 episodes of reduced movements due to my anterior placenta. I'm wondering if you have the same.. x

Horsesforcourses23 · 13/04/2022 19:23

I'm not sure, they told me my placenta was at the front on my last time so possibly? X

Lianna93 · 14/04/2022 10:24

28 week appointment done - running the risk of becoming anemic, so now on iron tablets but other than that, everything else seems to be going grand 😁
Baby is finally out of breech position too & is currently cephalic - hoping she'll stay that way 🤞🏻
Sickness is still real for me though. Forgot to take my cyclizine yesterday - quickly learnt my lesson 😬😂

Hope you're all well 🥰

UncomfortableBadger · 14/04/2022 10:44

Out of interest, how long have everybody’s gestational diabetes test results taken to come back?

Had my test first thing on Monday & the midwife said I should hear by Thursday. Just called the surgery to chase & no sign of them yet.

Not feeling hopeful as it took them 4 attempts to do my booking bloods - they mislabelled the vials, then sent them to the wrong lab, then they coagulated en route Hmm

SamanthaVimes · 14/04/2022 14:10

@UncomfortableBadger I had a phone call the next day for mine

purpleskyssssss · 14/04/2022 14:56

Had my GD results aswell, all clear, let's hope it stays that way!

Had my 28week appointment today and I am measuring 32cm so abit big for the 'graph' they have booked me in for a growth scan next week after the Easter holiday, has anyone got an experience of measuring bigger? Midwife didn't seem too concerned and was shocked they even booked me a scan!

Capricorn8990 · 14/04/2022 16:10

@Horsesforcourses23 yep so you have an anterior (front) placenta then so that may be why x

Mattieandmummy · 15/04/2022 13:55

27 weeks today and I have just tested positive for covid. Little bit worried as it's the third trimester next week.
