@fiowen45 @Prema112 @Lostintranslatio oh ladies sorry you're all having the insomnia too!!! At least we might be prepared for baby's arrival and lack of sleep 😂

And @fiowen45 I have a blocked nose too - just found a Vicks nose stick so gonna see if that helps as it's supposed to be safe to use in pregnancy.

Also @Prema112 LOVE that you have 30 bananas 😂 I've found it to be the perfect middle of the night snack as it's quiet to open and eat. I love the soft biscuit brekkie bakes too but the foil to open them was SO loud and kept waking my OH woopsieeee

Lostintranslatio · 27/02/2022 07:03

I had pretty bad insomnia in the first trimester but it resolved and I was sleeping so well. But now it is back and it is PITA! Today I'm also in my ILs so I can't get up so early and all my body is in pain now 😭 Going to try to distract me planning my suitcase for holidays 😂

Hi all, silly question, but as a FTM, what happens at the week 24-25 midwife appointment? I might need to travel abroad at that time as a family member is not doing well and we have been told to prepare ourselves. What would I miss in the appointment? It isn't detailed in my notes.

pregnancydiaries · 27/02/2022 08:06

Also jumping on the insomnia bandwagon, although I think mine is exacerbated by tossing and turning from side to side with the sorest hips, god they are agony.

ALHCTPS · 27/02/2022 08:16

Every time I’ve been pregnant, almost from conception onwards, I’ve pinged awake from about 3am. Makes me want to punch those well-meaning people who advise you to get your sleep in now, while you can. Chance would be a fine thing. On the plus side, it makes it a wee bit less brutal when you transition to night feeds.

Hi @4thtimethecharm- I don't know if it differs by area but I had mine this week. It was fairly quick- she just took my blood pressure, tested the urine sample I'd been asked to bring and listened to the baby's heartbeat. I don't think it would be a problem to have it slightly later.
ChildOfFriday · 27/02/2022 08:23

Also Thanks for your family member who is ill.

4thtimethecharm · 27/02/2022 08:42

Thanks @ChildOfFriday!

fpeg · 27/02/2022 09:06

@4thtimethecharm my experience was the same as @ChildOfFriday blood pressure, urine, heartbeat, any questions I might have. In and out well within 10 mins x

PeeAche · 27/02/2022 09:26

I've just booked a private gender scan for this afternoon. 3rd time's the charm. 🍀🤞 😬

Lostintranslatio · 27/02/2022 09:31

@PeeAche so exciting!!! 🤞🤞🤞

pregnancydiaries · 27/02/2022 10:16

Eeeek @PeeAche I am fully invested now in the gender of your baby 😂 how exciting xx

imhereforthecake · 27/02/2022 10:57

@Lostintranslatio
Oh I feel you! Insomnia is real! I'm finding myself having a little nap when I have days off work!

Starbeach · 27/02/2022 11:10

Oh amazing @PeeAche hope baby plays ball and uncrosses their legs for you can’t wait to hear xx

PeeAche · 27/02/2022 12:28

@AlbatrossSociety are you still suffering with the ultra sore boobs?

My boobs are the sorest I've ever known, but manageable. They don't sound like yours. Also remember that "normal" and "common" aren't mutually exclusive so try not to get too hung up on what everyone else is experiencing and just think about what feels "right" in your own body.

It sounds to me like it's not quite right, so maybe just check with your midwife.xxx

Prema112 · 27/02/2022 13:09

@AlbatrossSociety I agree with Pee, might be singeing to get checked. It sounds like mastitis but I'm not sure that's possible before baby is born.
@PeeAche enjoy finding out gender!! Grin

PeeAche · 27/02/2022 13:48

Mastitis can occur at any time, even in women that have never had a baby. (But far less frequently!)

... I know because my cat had it once. 😅🐱

PeeAche · 27/02/2022 13:51

I'm seriously worried that my husband isn't going to still be alive when the baby arrives...

.... if he keeps leaving wet towels on my side of the bed. 😠

EarlGreywithLemon · 27/02/2022 15:08

@4thtimethecharm same experience here at the 24 week appointment- urine, blood pressure, heart beat, quick chat and off I went.
Yes, definitely back in the land of insomnia- sometimes I barely get any sleep 😬😬😬

AlbatrossSociety · 27/02/2022 15:20

@PeeAche that would drive me MENTAL. How was your scan!?!?! We're not finding out but my excitement at reading all of you finding out are making me question that decision

I took a moment to reflect on my boobs and thought maybe they've grown more than I've given them credit for and I'm actually just wearing bras that are way too small. Turns out I have gone from 34DD to 36H 😲😲. So I've just been squeezing them into bras like 3 sizes too small even with the extra large maternity bras I've bought. I’ve ordered some new bras and spent some time braless and am hopeful that this will solve all my problems! If not I have midwife appt next week so I'll check in then. Thanks so much for your replies!!

Prema112 · 27/02/2022 15:47

@AlbatrossSociety Haha I did exactly the same thing! DD to an H! It's such a relief to get the right bra size! @PeeAche I never knew...

PeeAche · 27/02/2022 16:18

It's a girl!!

Prema112 · 27/02/2022 16:31

@PeeAche congrats!!!! 😃

Prema112 · 27/02/2022 16:32

Hope they used belly jelly this time!!!!

AlbatrossSociety · 27/02/2022 17:04

Congratulations @PeeAche!
