Felt baby roll over today. Think I've been feeling them move for a while, but it's stuff that's not too different from gas or muscle twitches. Today though it wasn't like any sensation I've felt before. Felt like something fairly large rolled itself over inside me. Really weird feeling.

squatternutbosh12 · 05/03/2022 15:18

@ToCaden Oo that’s exciting!!
I thought I felt a few flutters a couple of weeks ago but haven’t really felt anything since. And yesterday found out I have an anterior placenta so it might take even longer to feel anything!

surprised12 · 06/03/2022 12:18

Off to try and buy a bra that actually fits and I can bear to wear all day 😂😂

Wish me luck!!

Cakecakecheese · 06/03/2022 13:52

Yay had my reassurance and gender scan today. All looks well, heard the heartbeat and I finally have some lovely photos as opposed to the NHS monstrosity! We don't actually know the sex yet as we're going to pop the balloon they're doing for us on Saturday with family.

Congratulations!!! Ahhh I'd need to pop the balloon now!!!! How exciting x
squatternutbosh12 · 06/03/2022 15:22

@surprised12 urgh tell me about it- none of my bras fit anymore and I just cannot find anything remotely comfy to replace them with!

@Cakecakecheese yay fab news! How exciting re the balloon to find out sex- let us know! Do you have a hunch that it’s one or the other?

PopGoesBang · 06/03/2022 15:53

Talking of Bras I took a gamble on a Bravado body silk maternity/nursing bra. It was £36, which is possibly more than I've ever spent on a bra. But it arrived yesterday, put it on this morning and not only has it re-lifted the boobs it feels comfy! Which is most annoying as now I'll need a second or maybe third and they do some nice coloured ones.
Their size guide works well, I followed that and and really happy with it. Makes a significant difference to the well past their life ones I had with dd, think I probably spent less than £30 on all 3 of those far too many ears ago.

surprised12 · 06/03/2022 16:44

I've gone from a 32DD to a 34FF .... she told me not to buy more than 2 because they won't lift for long!!!
I didn't budget for all these bras 😂😂

Gem2811 · 06/03/2022 17:13

Had my gender reassurance scan today took 3 scans before the little madam would uncurl herself was doing high knees in the car park to try and move her 😂 so good to see the reassurance as well especially after being so ill this week

ToCaden · 06/03/2022 18:05

All the gender scans are very exciting. I'm waiting until my 20 week scan to see if they can tell then which feels far away though it's only a few weeks. I'm one of those people who wants to let their baby's personality develop without tough guy or little princess influence so not going to affect too much except the name. Still, it feels like the baby will be more real when I can have a name in mind and picture them better.

netflixandnochill · 06/03/2022 18:23

Congratulations on your scans @Cakecakecheese & @Gem2811 🤩

@PopGoesBang Thanks for the recommendation! I’m definitely going to look into those. I’ve been struggling through with M&S flexifit non underwires ones but they only go up to an E and I’m now busting out of those 😂

Cakecakecheese · 06/03/2022 18:25

@squatternutbosh12 My guess is I'm having a boy but we'll see.

I'm actually not bothered about knowing what the sex is but it was included in the scan so we had it and my partner's mum wants to do a little reveal so we're finding out otherwise I'd have been OK not knowing until the birth even!

SantiagoSister · 06/03/2022 18:28

Had an anxious weekend here 😔 I went to a posh restaurant with my friend yesterday. The menu was very limited and the only thing I thought I would like was the duck. When it came up it was served with a dark red/pinky gravy over it. After I had a few mouthfuls, I realised that the meat was in fact very rare and undercooked, and unfortunately it wasn’t the gravy making it look pink as I first thought as I found a piece of meat underneath with no gravy on and it was very rare 😔 I instantly had an internal freak out and couldn’t say anything as I haven’t told my friend I am pregnant, I just ate my vegetables and left the rest of the meat. But I had eaten a good few mouthfuls before I realised. I have spent the rest of the weekend absolutely kicking myself and scared I have given myself and baby toxoplasmosis 😢 am considering asking my midwife for a toxo blood test soon, it sounds like an over reaction I imagine but having experienced a late loss in my first pregnancy, I am so paranoid about any harm coming to this little one 😢

PopGoesBang · 06/03/2022 18:46

@netflixandnochill definitely worth a look. I was in a bit of a f*ck if mood on Wednesday and went for it, and quite glad I did now.
The days of my boobs being further out then my belly might be behind me, but I do feel they are at least in a suitable place now 🤣

@SantiagoSister I am sure everything will be fine. But can completely understand wanting some reassurance from people more on the know. I hope the midwife can do that.

SantiagoSister · 06/03/2022 18:59

Thank you @PopGoesBang, it’s crazy how unreasonable my anxiety is this time round. I’m normally a very rational person!

Cakecakecheese · 06/03/2022 19:15

@SantiagoSister please try not to worry, although that's easier said than done I know. There was a thread recently about eating a bit of a rare burger, I'll try and find it, hopefully some of it will reassure you. Toxothingy is very rare, and you're very very unlikely to have caught it and you'd be ill by now if you had it.

SantiagoSister · 06/03/2022 19:29

@Cakecakecheese thank you for the reassurance! I’ll have a read through that thread now, I appreciate you finding that for me. I had hoped I’d have some sort of symptoms if I was to be affected, unfortunately around 80% of cases have no symptoms at all it seems, which of course worried me as there’s no way of knowing if things are ok. I feel silly for worrying but I really appreciate the reassurance ❤️

ToCaden · 06/03/2022 19:48

@santiagosister I get it. I've calmed down now I'm in second trimester, but this is an ivf baby so I was constantly sure something would go wrong up to the dating scan.

Meat can be safely cooked and still have pink inside. That's generally what resteraunts do when they cook something rare on purpose so they don't get shut down for food poisoning. Unless they've had bad complaints for causing food poisoning caused by cook not doing their job most likely it was cooked hot enough to be safe.

If you did end up with the product of an incompetent cook the chances of you getting toxoplasmosis are very low.

Please do talk to your midwife though if you need a test for reassurance.

netflixandnochill · 06/03/2022 19:49

Easier said than done @SantiagoSister but try not to worry. A lot of people might not even know they’re pregnant at this point and be eating and drinking as usual. To ease any anxiety, do speak to a midwife but also try and be kind to yourself - it’s happened and odds are it will have absolutely no effect. I’d also argue that the NHS guidelines massively err on the side of caution and pregnancy guidelines vary from country to country. I know France doesn’t mention anything about alcohol during pregnancy for example! Hopefully all the messages of support are helping you feel a bit better this evening xx

netflixandnochill · 06/03/2022 19:51

Exactly what @ToCaden said too - may well have been pre cooked or sous vide in order for the restaurant to constantly deliver identical plates.

PopGoesBang · 06/03/2022 20:19

@SantiagoSister I don't think it's unreasonable to be anxious, it's more a protection instinct kicking in. So don't beat yourself up for how you feel.
And please don't over the whole situation. Hopefully tomorrow you will get some reassurance. Be kind to yourself.

SantiagoSister · 06/03/2022 20:32

Thank you all so much @ToCaden @netflixandnochill @PopGoesBang @Cakecakecheese I really appreciate your comments and they have certainly helped. It’s good to put worries out there and hear sensible responses back, it does help to calm my irrational brain! I never eat meat rare even when not pregnant, just not my thing, so I had no idea it could still be safe even if it was still pink. That’s reassuring 🤞🏼 Thankfully it was a restaurant with a very good reputation and I haven’t had any ill effects from food poisoning, so I will keep my fingers crossed that it was cooked just enough to kill any potential parasites it may have contained too. I said to my partner last night, I wish we could create a baby and then have them looked after in a cosy lab for 9 months growing nicely and pick them up when they’re safely ready to come into the world, as the stress and responsibility I feel in pregnancy after loss is another level. I sound nuts but I promise I’m actually quite a normal person usually 😂

I'm the same, a wee outside womb would be ideal, it's a lot of pressure, I've had previous losses too (1st trimester), so I can totally see why you are worrying with having a late loss. I won't even buy anything yet I'm so paranoid x
SantiagoSister · 06/03/2022 23:29

@Shelly1812 sorry to hear of your previous losses too, they’re devastating at all gestations 😔 I feel the same about buying things, feels like I might jinx things if I bought something for baby. It’s not a nice way to think and I hope it’ll pass for us as time goes on 🤞🏼
