Hi all,

I've just had my BFP and am due early October 2022, for my first baby I joined a group on here for people all due the same month so thought I'd start one this time round - early days I know but nice to speak to people in the same boat! 🙂

I'm 31 and have a DD who is 16 months.

Is anyone else due in October? How are you feeling?

@Nikki037297 my faint tests always happen because of fmu. Yesterday night the test line was darker than control.
I have no symptoms yet.
I understand your worry.... the not knowing is the worst.
I don't think my problem is too high hcg 😐
Tomorrow will try the digi with weeks for 3+.
With my DD at 23 DPO my hcg was over 19000 so I figured Tomorrow at 19 dpo this time should meet the 2500 treshold for 3+.

Are you having an early scan?

Samthenanny · 06/02/2022 09:30

Is anyone suffering with postnasal drip? Or have it in the past? Does it last the whole pregnancy?
I’m really struggling especially at night time, I just cough constantly.

@Ivfmummy2be I got my 3+ today I’m 5+2. I got my 2-3 weeks last Friday so for me its been a 10 day gap.

Ivfmummy2be · 06/02/2022 09:35

@samthenanny thanks, I'm 5 weeks today, think I will wait till Wednesday so I don't waste the test.
I had a cold/cough last weekend, but thats gone now.
Got my letter through yesterday, 12 week scan on 25th March. I will be 12 weeks exactly on mother's day!!

girlmummy25 · 06/02/2022 09:41

Ladies do any of you wear a fit bit/ iwatch etc which tracks your resting heart rate?
My RHR has gone from 81 down to 75 in 3 days and its making me think this is a bad thing for baby as it normally climbs while pregnant.

Im 5wks 5days

KPS13 · 06/02/2022 09:42

@SunnySideUp2020 I hope you are keeping well, it's such a worrisome time. I wanted to reach out to you because I had a very similar situation. On Jan 25, I got my BFP (first pee of the day) very strong line and was 4w). A few hours later I took another test, again a very strong line. The following day I tested positive for Covid-19 and all of my pregnancy symptoms seemed to vanish overnight and I began to panic. I decided I'd take another test two day later (admittedly midday and not my first pee of the day which hadn't mattered before), this time my line was much fainter. Like you, I thought I was about to MC. The very next day the wave of sickness took over and my boobs were sore again. I immediately spoke to EPU and they told me NOT to test anymore and not to worry because I wasn't bleeding. Five day later, I still wasn't bleeding still and had a check up with the doctor. She wasn't worried and said: "HCG levels can fluctuate throughout pregnancy" and advised: "pregnancy tests aren't always a great way to measure HCG levels because it can depend how much water etc you've drank before taking one." Because I'd had no bleeding and my pregnancy symptoms were worse than ever, i'd convinced myself I was having an ectopic pregnancy, after speaking to the doctor she has reassured me that everything is normal and that I'm not bleeding or having any pain or severe cramping so shouldn't worry because anxiety can be more harmful to my baby. I haven't taken any more tests and I have to say my mind is a lot more at ease without them. I'm just taking each day as it comes and listening to my body now and my symptoms are telling me everything is ok and to stop panicking. I'm now 6w and still haven't had a bleed or any pain and my blood tests are booked for this week and I've also secured a private 8w scan for peace of mind. If I'd believed every single comment I'd read on here I would have convinced myself it was worse case scenario - as it seems to me there are a lot of people on here who haven't had the greatest experiences. I hope and pray you and baby have a safe journey. Do try to keep the faith as hard as that is x

MrsG2021 · 06/02/2022 10:37

Hi all,

Please can I join? I’m 27 and 6w+3 with my first baby. My due date is around the 29th September but I reckon he/she will probably be an October baby. I’ve felt really anxious as I haven’t had any symptoms apart from sore boobs and very mild pulling/cramping. However, I feel like they are starting to creep in now! For the last week or so I’ve been falling asleep on the sofa by 8.30 every night and waking up with hunger pangs in the morning. Last night we went out for dinner and I literally didn’t fancy anything which is very unlike me! Now I’ve woken up this morning craving raspberry sorbet and pineapple!?!
I’ve felt very mild waves of nausea but nothing major which surprises me as I’m normally quite a ‘sicky’ person so I was expecting it to be much worse. Obviously it could kick in later but most things I’ve read said it usually starts at 4-6 weeks. Has anyone experienced it starting later than this?

Nikki037297 · 06/02/2022 11:10

@SunnySideUp2020 my hcg is high too I got the pregnant 3+ when I was 4w3d. Yes I’m booking a scan for as close to 6 weeks as I can when I find out which days my partner is off work so he can be there i keep dreaming of twins and Iv quite scared myself lol

Diamondbabe · 06/02/2022 13:22

I got my digital today so officially confirmed! Such a lovely day here so feeling very lucky to be pregnant again with baby two.

Does anyone have any inclingings if it's a boy or girl or anybody have a preference?

I have a 14 month old boy so it would be lovely to have a girl but then I think two of the same sex get on so well so I feel like I'm in a bit of a win win situation!

Curlywurly3 · 06/02/2022 13:31

Hi everyone, congratulations to you all on your BFPs! I got mine yesterday at 10DPO, still very early. 4th cycle and unfortunately had a MC in cycle 2. I already have a DD who is 2.5. EDD is 18th October and it’s my birthday exactly a week before!

How is everyone feeling? Any symptoms?
I had a friend over yesterday, I was giving her cava and I was drinking a non alcoholic version. I was trying to hide my glass as the colour of my bubbles was much lighter than hers! 🤦🏼‍♀️

KPS13 · 06/02/2022 14:44

@girlmummy25 I do wear a Fitbit too and have been monitoring my RHR. I'm 6w's tomorrow and have noticed mine has fluctuated but seems to up at the moment but only slightly.

HMFx · 06/02/2022 15:09

@girlmummy25 mines the same been fluctuating a lot. Yesterday it was 73 today 70 two days ago 75 so I wouldn't read too much into it. I've felt quite normal today less sick so I think that's why my rhr has dropped. Also very well rested from the weekend (lots of naps!!) xx

RosaBaby2 · 06/02/2022 17:21

Mines around 73 which is as usual

SunnySideUp2020 · 06/02/2022 19:35

Thanks for your message @KPS13 💗

Congratulations! @Diamondbabe

@Curlywurly3 this is the really weird time when you can't tell everyone yet and sometimes need to pretend or lie a little. Very awkward!

No symptoms still here! No nausea no sore boobs nothing. Just tired. I am 4w4. I checked and with my DD nausea only started at 5w3. But my boobs were definitely sore before that.

I am definitely wondering if I am pregnant or my body is confused!

SunnySideUp2020 · 06/02/2022 19:36

@Diamondbabe we have a girl already so would love a boy but equally a girl because again! So 50 50...

Leibee87 · 06/02/2022 20:36

It's our first but I'd love a girl (feel like it's a girl too) but that's because I'd feel more confident but I don't really mind as long as it's healthy.

Ivfmummy2be · 06/02/2022 21:13

My husband wants a boy, he feels a boy would be easier to manage. Our mums keep joking it's twin girls (high possibility it is twins) and he goes pale! I don't mind either way, I always wanted one of each, but I'm not trying for another 9 years!

Diamondbabe · 06/02/2022 23:11

How do you work out how far gone you are I can't remember lol. I'm sure last time I just had an easily scan and they put me at so many weeks etc. is it just the number of days from your last period?

123walrus · 07/02/2022 06:26

@Diamondbabe yes you can use a calculator like this one to work it out.

Darcy1990 · 07/02/2022 08:33

Hi, sorry if it’s a silly question but is anyone taking Iron supplements?

So far I’ve only been taking folic acid, B and D vitamins but I’ve read that Iron is generally recommend for all. That said I have heard some horror stories of nasty side effects of some iron tablets like constipation, increased nausea etc.
Any recommendations + what else do you take?

maybein2022 · 07/02/2022 08:42

Hi all,

Congratulations to all of you on your BFPs, wishing you all a happy and healthy pregnancy.

Can I join? I am very nervous about joining as I’ve literally just found out this morning, the day before AF is due, on a digital, so I’m very, very early. Due date calculator puts my due date as 17th October but I have had two c sections so looking at early October if all goes well. 🤞

I am a massive worrier, and this pregnancy was not exactly planned (but very much wanted!) I have two older children. Just keeping everything crossed and hoping for the best.

Mals2022 · 07/02/2022 08:48

Congratulations everyone on your BFPs!
I'm nervously joining in, had my BFP a couple of days ago, very much a surprise baby so still coming to terms with it all and still in shock.
I'm 4+5 today and due 13th of October.
The only symptoms I've had is cramping and sore boobs, as well as crying at everything and for no reason which is definitely not like me😂

123walrus · 07/02/2022 08:54

@Darcy1990 you should have blood tests at some point which will look at your iron levels. If deficient you’ll be prescribed supplements.

Leibee87 · 07/02/2022 08:56

Congratulations on all the new bfps.

@Darcy1990 I take the pregnecare plus tablets at the moment but nothing extra. When I went into h&b and asked about vit d etc they were asking what strengths the Dr's had told me and as I haven't seen a Dr yet i didn't know. Got appt on 22nd so will ask then.

BecLJ · 07/02/2022 08:57

@mrsg2021 @diamond babe congratulations!

@Diamondbabe@Darcy1990 I'm just taking folic acid and Vitamin D at the moment - I hadn't thought of vitamin B. Last pregnancy I had to take iron tablets as I got quite unwell with anemia but that was towards the end. I'm planning to ask about it at my first midwife appointment.

@maybein2022 congratulations and welcome to the thread! Lots of good wishes to you too. I had an emergency c section with my daughter (now 16 months) were you recommended to have a second c section? If you don't mind me asking of course. I'm just wondering if its more likely you're advised to have another after having one before. Way too early to be thinking about that I know!

Hope everyone has a good Monday Smile

@Darcy1990 I was just taking folic acid and vitamin d

Tried pregnacare and they didn’t suit me at all - nausea increased so back to the 2 separate vitamins
