@destiEos Have a look on market place. I really wanted one of the mamas&papas changing tables where the top came off when longer needed so could keep as normal chest if drawers but they were all like £350+ and I could not justify it. I found this mamas&papas one on Facebook marketplace for £70 and kind parents collected for me! I’m excellent condition and an absolute bargin!! It’s living in the conservatory for now with the 2nd hand snuzpod until we sort out the baby’s room

@turniptracker I'm sorry to hear that your in laws are putting so much pressure on you, like your not having to deal with enough already! Stand your ground, inthink theyre veing really selfish, you want time with your new baby alone and you want to get settled first before having visitors to stay and getting in the way. Too right they should stay in a B&B! Big hugs x

@RoseValleyRambles I'm so glad you brought this up as I've been feeling exactly the same, feeling rather pathetic and only just over half way. Had a few weeks of feeling amazing but now feel like rubbish and worried what the third trimester is going to bring!

@MrsNT I just had an aching arm for a few days after the vaccination.

Prema112 · 03/02/2022 14:30

Oh @4thtimethecharm It must be very worrying for you if you've been here before but it's very encouraging that the consultant isn't worried and you're on the blood thinners. I suppose half of babies have to be below average for the mean to work don't they! It's great that we are both on the normal curve. @Rolledthedice my first midwife growth check will be 28 weeks so hoping there's been lots of good growth. I've got a scan on Monday for the bits they missed last time so I'll ask them about growth too

4thtimethecharm · 03/02/2022 15:15

@Prema112, thank you, let's keep our fingers crossed for our babies to stay on their curve :)

pregnancydiaries · 03/02/2022 20:10

Happy healthy little boy at our 20 week scan today ladies 💙 they still can't tell whether he has the same kidney issues as me and won't be able to until about 30 weeks but keeping fingers crossed all is ok. Funny little picture of his nostrils below 😂

@4thtimethecharm sorry to hear about your previous losses and growth worries. Whilst I can't relate I do agree that after failed pregnancies I don't think I'll ever relax until the baby is here. Spoke to MW about it and she said we're perfectly normal to be this way. Just think, over half way now 🤞🏼♥️

@MrsNT had my whooping cough today, how you feeling? I'm ok so far 🤞🏼

Hi, just joined the thread :) ,

My baby is also measuring small, she measured below the 10th percentile (I think measurements were around 5th percentile) at my 20 week scan, otherwise looking healthy and lively. I’ve been referred to a consultant for growth scans. I had the first one at 21weeks, they checked the baby again and placenta and also took my bloods to check for any infections which may affect growth. I was also offered an amniocentesis to check for any other abnormalities (which I have declined for now). I am only 5ft tall myself, so my baby may just be a small baby. I’m going back for a follow up growth scan at 25 weeks.

Lostintranslatio · 03/02/2022 21:00

Congrats on that lovely boy @pregnancydiaries 💙💙

RoseValleyRambles · 03/02/2022 22:11

@pregnancydiaries congrats! Great news.

I go in for my 20 week scan tomorrow. Really looking forward to seeing little one again.

Baby is doing somersaults today. Such a weird feeling!

4thtimethecharm · 03/02/2022 22:27

@Catsunray, things can be quite scary when you hear that news. You are in the best hands now, and I am keeping my fingers crossed for you and your baby girl. We tell baby every morning to 'grow, baby, grow'!

@pregnancydiaries, that is so true! Time will hopefully help there. Feeling baby regularly move now definitely helps as well. I hope things work out well for you and your baby boy!

@czycoup, I am so sorry you find yourself in this difficult situation. I don't know if this has been mentioned to you yet, but have you heard of the charity ARC, Antenatal Results and Choices? They have a helpline for people who receive concerning news in their pregnancy. They also run a (protected) forum, which you can request access to. I cannot recommend them enough.

unknownscot · 03/02/2022 22:44

@RoseValleyRambles
I'm in tomorrow as well.

My husband still hasn't managed to catch the baby kicking. 😕

RoseValleyRambles · 03/02/2022 22:55

@unknownscot Hope all goes well!

I have a feeling there will be plenty of time for kicks... Mine went a bit mental after ice cream yesterday, so that might be worth a try.

Anyone else scanning tomorrow?

Clueless22 · 03/02/2022 23:07

Hi ladies, has anyone suffered with a UTI? I have a nasty feeling I may have one 😞
If so, what treatment we're you offered and did you go to your GP or midwife x

PleaseSendNoodles · 03/02/2022 23:58

@Turniptracker @EarlGreywithLemon @Lostintranslatio I have this same dilemma and I’m SO stressed about it. My parents want to visit soon after baby is born (around 2/3 weeks after my due date) and stay for THREE WEEKS. In my house. I love them dearly but I really really don’t want that. Im very independent and need my space. Plus my husband will have been away for 80% of the year by the time baby comes so I want time as a family. I really want to stick to my guns but it’s so hard not to feel like a horrible person.

hellointhere · 04/02/2022 00:48

So comforting to see so many others struggling with family and distance when it comes to baby. I'm undecided about how it'll go, and am trying not to worry too much about it, and hope the choice will become clear as the date gets closer! On the plus side, my parents are supportive of whatever I decide, although have made their preference clear. I'm appreciative of that.

jennixxx · 04/02/2022 00:50

Does anyone have suggestions on any bedside cribs? i bought the snuzpod but thats going to my dads house for when i go to visit him & i need one for my own house but i dont really want to buy another snuzpod, absolute hassle to build if im being honest, i really want to avoid doing it twice😅

PleaseSendNoodles · 04/02/2022 01:29

@hellointhere I think seeing how you feel is a good way to deal with it! And your parents being understanding is good. Mine want to know soon so they can book annual leave and flights 😬

@jennixxx Sorry I don’t have any recommendations but I’m sure the others will in the morning.

Was nice to come on to find a couple of messages here late at night. The time difference often makes me feel quite lonely in the evenings (I’m 5 hours behind) so thanks both for keeping me company 😊

Clomid1 · 04/02/2022 02:41

@Clueless22 I was put on antibiotics and I went to the GP.

Lostintranslatio · 04/02/2022 06:00

@Clueless22 unfortunately I am prone to UTIs (still none while pregnant, touch wood) and best advice is to get checked ASAP as the infection could go up to the kidneys and that is a Pita to treat. You will be given antibiotics suitable for pregnancy.

Roxystar23 · 04/02/2022 07:23

Good Morning Ladies,

I had a reminder letter through about a smear/colposcopy appointment at the hospital yesterday. I phoned the hospital to cancel (thinking I couldn’t possibly have it until after giving birth) but I’ve been told that I still can and that they will see me next week. I’m terrified & don’t want to go. They have tried to assure me that it won’t harm the baby but even so, I’ve just woken up from the worst nightmare about it. Has anyone else found themselves in a similar situation whilst pregnant?

Lostintranslatio · 04/02/2022 07:41

@Roxystar23 in the country where I am from, smear tests are done during pregnancy as well. I had my appointment to get it done but I found out I was pregnant and the nurse canceled it and told me to wait until birth. I would've rather to get it done, I don't like postponing that test 😕

Turniptracker · 04/02/2022 07:41

@PleaseSendNoodles THREE WEEKS?!?!!! Good god that sounds like a nightmare. I don't understand why these people can't just wait and do as they are asked! Everyone acts so entitled with babies it's unreal. I'm lucky my own parents are really chill about it (and they can also just pop in for an hour rather than a week!) So only one set to have to manage and set boundaries with.

pregnancydiaries · 04/02/2022 08:16

Morning @Roxystar23. A few weeks ago I had bad pain quite low down and went to triage. They did an internal exam and as there was a lot of discharge, also did a smear. I FREAKED out and so did endless reading online and on forums...it's totally safe!!!! The only reason some places advise delaying it is because your hormones can affect the results when pregnant, not because of any risks to baby. 3 weeks later, I had my 20 week scan yesterday and everything is looking well 🤞🏼

Hope that helps but remember you can always cancel xxx

mrkb · 04/02/2022 08:26

Been horribly busy at work and just had a nice morning catching up as I have the day off! @Roxystar23 I got a letter for my smear but find them very stressful ever since a pretty awful copper coil experience. I know they're safe but I'm postponing until after the baby is here - I just feel like I have a psychological limit on how much I can deal with my cervix being interfered with and having a baby sitting right next to it has definitely hit that limit 😅

GrowBabyGrow · 04/02/2022 08:31

@Roxystar23 I looked into this as my next smear is due just before my due date and the RCOG say to wait until after birth unless you've previously had an abnormal smear result. I'm a very pro 'just get the smear' person but as it's causing you worry and results can be inaccurate because you are pregnant then you could postpone until after birth if you've not had an abnormal result before.

GrowBabyGrow · 04/02/2022 08:32

I should also say that I'm going to postpone mine until after birth too x
