Right, just caught up on last like 15 pages 😂 for goodness sake I neeed to keep up hahaha.
@GrowBabyGrow it feels like a tapping against me from the inside, you can’t really mistake it when you start feeling it. I’ve even started seeing my belly moving, so weird!!
@Octoblockisadick I’m big now too!!!! I’ll post a pic up later.
Sorry guys I asked about VBAC then did a disappearing act for a week. Life is so busy right now!
@Octoblockisadick @sunflower198 I had a call on 24th just talking about pros and cons of each. Main points for me were: vaginal birth usually results in quicker recovery and quicker getting out of hospital, plus less risk to mum and baby. I found a really good link which I’ll try and fish out again later when I get a chance which showed 1 in a million maternal death risk compared with 5 in a million maternal death for c-section. I was scared of uterine rupture but i had last c-section a long time ago so my risk is very low, but it’s still a risk factor that’s scary to me. But on the other hand c-section can lead to scar tissue build up which can cause internal organ pain, and affect a future pregnancy. There’s chance of cutting baby or my bladder. Longer recovery and longer time in hospital. Risk of blood clots,so would need to do daily blood thinning injections. Risk of infection. Benefits are knowing when baby will be born and not going through pain of a potentially drawn out labour again 😂
Overall I think the risks for c-section outweigh the VBAC risks. I’m scared of a uterine rupture but ultimately I have decided that the benefits outweigh the risk and so I will give it a go.
I will refuse induction though as that significantly increases risk of rupture. So if I go 2 weeks overdue I’ll have a c-section anyway.
Appreciate even if I try VBAC I could end up needing a c-section anyway, therefore keeping an open mind that I cannot plan 100% what’s going to happen but at least I can try.
I have appointment at 34 weeks with a consultant to make final decision.
