@Annabell1 yes, sorry H&M - I bought the 0-1M(7lbs) size in that multipack of bodysuits.

Also got 5 lovely JL bodysuits and another 3-pack of sleeveless bodysuits and matching hats from JL too, all in Newborn (up to 9lbs). I have lots on my shopping basket/wish list, just bought a few to start off with. There's a Morrisons near me, so ill probably buy some stuff from their Nutmeg range which looks lovely too.

I should probably get a changing table/dresser to put the baby things in soon - everything we saw in Mamas and Papas looked very IKEA though and the prices were very high for mdf I thought.. Anyone find anything nice for dresser/changing table?

Lostintranslatio · 02/02/2022 14:56

In Newborn size (up to 4.5kg or 56cm) I've only got 5vests and 5 sleepsuits. Not buying more in this size until we see if the she is a small baby or not. DP can always pop into a store a buy more of this size if needed.

In size 0-3 I have 10 sleepsuits and 12 vests.

And everything with patterns, I love the tiny baby patterned clothes 😂

EarlGreywithLemon · 02/02/2022 16:50

Four our daughter we had 10 sleepsuits and about 15 vests in newborn size, mixture of long and short sleeve, and we did use them. In fact we’d used most of them during the 5 days we spent in hospital! But she was a very vomity baby. She also wore her newborn size clothes for longer than I expected (over a month I think) despite being on a fairly high centile - born 50th centile, but quickly went up to 90th, and quite tall.
I didn’t bother with any outfits or pyjamas for ages - I think she had one pair of trousers and one jumper in the 3-6 month size, and 99% of the time she wore sleep suits. Of course you can dress them up if you want but you don’t have to if you’d rather not!

This thread moves sooo fast! I’m very confused over clothing. I live somewhere that is sweltering in the summer but we have our air conditioning super cold inside so I guess we’ll be putting layers ON baby to go indoors 🤦🏼‍♀️

pregnancydiaries · 02/02/2022 17:44

Thanks @MrsNT @unknownscot and @Clueless22 - looks like between us we can figure this crazy FTM thing out 😂♥️

@destiEos the nutmeg range in Morrisons is SO nice, I've already fallen in love with it.

Ladies it's times like this I am so glad to have you all, I don't have a bloody clue what I'm doing in the journey!!!! (20 week scan tomorrow so the emotions are real) xxx

Lostintranslatio · 02/02/2022 18:04

@pregnancydiaries best of luck tomorrow!!!

unknownscot · 02/02/2022 18:05

This baby is by the book 😂
16 weeks I felt flutters and today I'm 20 weeks and can definitely kicks outside. Unfortunately husband is away to watch the football so not around to have a wee feel!

I'm trying not to buy too much just now just until I know the sex. I'll have a few basic white/unisex babygrows and a choice of "coming home" outfit for girl or boy

Other than that my sisters and family will buy gifts when the baby is born and I can send husband out for other things.

Will need to think about nappies etc obviously but will wait another good while for that.

Have chosen pram and car seat, and going to view a cot this weekend.
We have a second hand next2me from my sister in law.

pregnancydiaries · 02/02/2022 18:08

@unknownscot ah the joys of the good old Glasgow derby, I'm also on my own tonight and it's totally made me realise how pathetic I am and can't do anything for myself 😂

unknownscot · 02/02/2022 18:09

Also been recommended to buy some sleep gowns and so much easier to change a nappy at night.

Eg www.carters.com/carters-baby-girl-pajamas/V_1L782810.html

JAR1981 · 02/02/2022 18:14

@Octoblockisadick I also suddenly seem to have popped. Tummy like a football. Hope the photo works as not tried to post one before.

BTW I really recommend these overbump leggings. They’re the Seraphine bamboo ones and sooooo soft and seamless so feel like a dream plus they are quite thin so should be good when the weather starts to warm up too :)

JAR1981 · 02/02/2022 18:23

You are all so organised with your kiddie clothing already. I feel like I’ll be coming back to these posts in a few weeks time when I finally get my head around buying.

Nursery furniture is my focus right now! Also looking for a changing station etc @destiEos. This site has some lovely ones but everything seems so expensive when you think it won’t last that long www.babyandchildstore.com/shop/nursery/furniture/cot-beds/tutti-bambini-rio-4-piece-nursery-room-set-dove-grey-oak/

unknownscot · 02/02/2022 18:38

@JAR1981 it looks lovely.

I hate that hardly anywhere has actual cots in store to see. I really don't want to buy furniture without seeing it.
Managed to phone Mamas&Papas in Edinburgh (I'm Glasgow) and they have the one I like on display 👏🏽

pregnancydiaries · 02/02/2022 19:26

@JAR1981 what a gorgeous bump!!😍

JAR1981 · 02/02/2022 19:47

Ah thanks ladies 😊. @pregnancydiaries good luck for tomorrow.

I know what you mean about seeing furniture in the flesh. I want to get an armchair for feeding upstairs/in the nursery so definitely need to try that out for comfort first. MADE have one in their clearance which looks lovely but cannot try it and husband also vetoed since it’s pink (we don’t know the sex)

unknownscot · 02/02/2022 20:06

@JAR1981 I looked at made today. They have some other rocking chairs in other colours. Also look on Argos. I wouldn't normally look there but one popped up on Google from there!

Ah we have a pink and green lounge so my husband wouldn't be against pink I don't think however we haven't even thought about nursery decor yet!

Octoblockisadick · 02/02/2022 20:19

@pregnancydiaries good luck tomorrow! Are you going to find out what you are having?
@JAR1981 your bump is amazing! Someone at work asked me today if I was having twins Blush.

To the people saying about movement, yup party Central here at bedtime haha. I've heard it's because your movement during the day rocks baby to sleep, then when you relax in bed the lack of movement wakes them up. Not sure how true it is, but it seems logical!

I've also not bought anything at all yet, not even really thought about it tbh. I think I'm probably a bit more relaxed with having had a baby before, and other things to think about. I just keep thinking oh there's ages to go yet, when there really isn't thinking about it. I've been looking online at prams and car seats, but clothes wise I've barely thought about it. I'll have to start making a list!
Has everyone collected their Emma diary packs BTW? I got a new family one the other day and there's a pack of pampers newborn nappies in it!

Prema112 · 02/02/2022 20:21

@JAR1981 It's so funny when they have their little night parties! I did eat choc cake an hour before so that probably didn't help! What a cute bump you have! And I couldn't help noticing that you have the same ballerina music box that I had as a child! 😍

Prema112 · 02/02/2022 20:23

@Octoblockisadick Someone today that I don't even know touched my bump and started asking loads of questions about the baby. I thought it was very bold of her, I wouldn't assume someone is pregnant even if they were 9 months and enormous!

Prema112 · 02/02/2022 20:25

@czycoup Thinking of you this week and so hope you've had some good news xx

JAR1981 · 02/02/2022 20:26

@Prema112 it’s the one I had as a child too! My mum found it and gave it back to me last year. I used to love it.

@Octoblockisadick what’s as Emma diary pack?

Prema112 · 02/02/2022 20:31

@JAR1981 Does the tune still play? Brings back so many memories! My ballerina sadly lost her tutu 😂

czycoup · 02/02/2022 20:33

@Prema112 thank you. The news is that it's complex and they cannot give us the odds of survival. They've given us an appointment with a professor at the hospital who has much more experience than the consultant in the type of condition our baby has. Whether we continue or not will depend on what day you ask me and how positive I feel. Today is not a good day.

I really don't want to bring the thread down, and it's honestly so lovely seeing everyone's happy scans and excitement over clothes and prams and stuff.

Thanks for asking after me. I hope you are doing ok?

Prema112 · 02/02/2022 20:43

@czycoup Please don't feel like you are bringing the thread down in any way, we want to support you and be there for you if you need us. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. I'm praying for you and your baby, especially that this professor will be able to bring more clarify and hope to the situation xx

unknownscot · 02/02/2022 20:50

@czycoup
Please know we're here to support you in any way we can.
I hope you are doing okay, wishing you all the best when meeting with the prof. Hopefully more clarity as @Prema112 says so you can be informed as best as possible.
I hope you are surrounded with love and support

💛

Octoblockisadick · 02/02/2022 21:03

@Prema112 oh god the bump touchers! I'm glad it's less of a thing now with covid! I do tend to stand with something across my stomach when talking to people just in case though (usually a file or something at work)

@JAR1981 Emma's diary is an app, it has info and money off vouchers for pregnancy and things you need. They do 3 "packs" with free stuff in, 1 early pregnancy, 1 late pregnancy and 1 newborn but you can collect any at any time. I think you can get 3 of each pack too. In the ones I've got so far was pampers newborn size nappies, some water wipes, sudocrem, anti stretch mark creams, sensitive fabric conditioners, lots of money off vouchers too. Definitely worth getting!
