Ugh panicking and really annoyed at DH. He cooked a curry according to a recipe but didn’t check the chicken was thoroughly cooked before serving it. Anyway I had two mouthfuls of the curry (not the chicken, just the sauce with rice) before DH cut into his chicken and declared it’s not cooked through!

His logic is I should be fine as the outside of the chicken which had contact with the sauce was cooked. I hope he’s right as I’m panicking now.

He took it back and cooked it longer but I was so put off I only ate a small amount before deciding that I would have a bowl of cereal instead.

Just so frustrated that he didn’t check as I’m not going to be able to relax for the next 24 hours now.

PeeAche · 27/01/2022 21:18

@CurryandSnuggle whatever you do, don't let them know over on AIBU. That's an LTB offence if I ever saw one. 😅

On a more serious note, you'll be fine. Worst case... minor squits. But I agree with the hubster that it's unlikely the sauce is going to make you ill.

My DH didn't enjoy his dinner tonight. He ate it in silence and then didn't thank me. Tomorrow I might make him a curry to your husbands recipe. 😈 💩 💁🏻‍♀️

@PeeAche hahaha you’ve cracked me up! 😈

MrsTwentyNine · 27/01/2022 21:58

@sunflower198 I've got one booked for the week after! What is your date date ? 😄

@Clomid1 she confirmed it was a boy ...we knew from earlier scan though!

Was watching Nightmare Alley at the cinema and I'm sure I felt movement definitely for the first time today. It was mainly because of the scan, I knew he is now hanging out underneath my belly button so knew where to feel Blush Good luck to everyone with upcoming scans!

PlodandPod · 27/01/2022 23:41

@mrkb

Is anyone doing NCT and baby & bump? I'd never heard of the latter before someone mentioned it and quite like that some of the sessions focus more on life with baby rather than just birth. I've already booked NCT but don't know if it's a bit much doing both? But I really don't know many people in the area and really like the sound of the social side of B&B!
Would love to know the differences too! I'm torn on which to choose. Out of interest what dates have you chosen for NCT vs your due date? All my recommended ones are coming up as a month before I'm due.. Is that too late?
PlodandPod · 27/01/2022 23:43

@Olive60

Anyone not just wearing black leggings!? I'm missing my skinny jeans now, feeling really dressed down and frumpy. Anyone got any good jeans suggestions?
I have some black maternity jeans/jeggings from M&S that were about £15 and I find really comfy. I live in jeans! Also have some RI maternity ones bought in the asos sale for £20 x
mrkb · 28/01/2022 06:20

@PlodandPod my first one is mid-march and then they end 21st April. I'm due June 5th so that's just over a month later! I can't remember how I chose them now - my friends with babies really recommended NCT (but I don't think they know bump & baby) so booked way back in November as I was worried about spaces filling up!

Octoblockisadick · 28/01/2022 07:13

I'm pretty much living in leggings, but agree that the h&m stuff is really good. I've got some work trousers from them and they are good.
I've got my 20 week scan today, I'm really nervous! Was anyone really worried that something would be wrong before they had their scan?

CurryandSnuggle · 28/01/2022 08:39

@PeeAche well I’ve not experienced any untoward consequences so far 💩

CurryandSnuggle · 28/01/2022 08:40

I got bought some maternity leggings from Love Leggings for Christmas, so comfy!! And warm material as they’re a little fleecy inside 🙂

RoseValleyRambles · 28/01/2022 08:44

I am in love with my maternity leggings. They're the best. Got a load of the non- elasticated h&m ones on vinted and they've been fab as there's no waist band to dig in.

RoseValleyRambles · 28/01/2022 08:46

What are people's opinions on the value of NCT if you're going down the c-section route? I'm wondering if it's worth it if I'm not planning on natural birth...

Prema112 · 28/01/2022 08:49

@CurryandSnuggle Argh I feel your pain, I ate half a burger at 9 weeks pregnant before I realised it was completely raw in the middle Sad It was at a fireworks display and was obviously dark so I didn't know. But I reckon you'll be absolutely fine, glad you're feeling ok!

Prema112 · 28/01/2022 08:53

Re. Antenatal classes, for FTM I think it's definitely worth doing something so you can know a bit more about birth, but the groups are mainly great for the friendships you make. I'm wondering about an NCT top up course as it was a while ago that I gave birth... But I'm doing pregnancy yoga and the lady goes into birth tips quite a lot within the class which is great. Any not FTM doing a course?

Prema112 · 28/01/2022 08:54

@RoseValleyRambles From memory NCT is very centred around vaginal birth so might not be so useful for a planned C

Loaded my basket up with Mama stuff on the H&M app last night, battery was about to conk out so I left everything in overnight and hoped it would all be there (and still in stock!) this morning. Open app today and voila - 15% off everything for members this weekend 🥳

Also need to start booking in classes... The NHS ones were so confusing, I think I'm registered (via Eventbrite?!) and then they'll let me know dates closer to the time.... very odd. NCT are recommended by all and sundry but have to decide between two locations nearest to me - one posh and one a bit skint - we're sort if in between Confused

Vimto1991 · 28/01/2022 09:30

@mrsnt
Saw the lead consultant, I’ll be seeing her again 1st March to keep with the same one. She was very apologetic and explain my T4 that the baby draws from is fine, it was my TSH that was borderline. She likes below 2.5 and I’m 3.05 - I saw a post earlier where someone’s consultant liked below 4, so I guess different levels in different areas, but basically she said she’s not concerned. The hospitals tend to worry for the baby when it’s like 50, 150 lol.

It’s such relief, so scary something like this can be missed, though, but they’re making sure to give me too treatment now. 😂 just thought I’d give an update.

Hopefully no more crying 😂😂

Vimto1991 · 28/01/2022 09:32

In regards to clothes, I have maternity jeans from new look. They’re stretchy and comfy. I’ve been wearing them before a bump because I gained weight during covid 😂

MrsNT · 28/01/2022 09:49

@vimto1991 glad to know its all ok... normal range is upto 4 but during pregnancy or when trying to concieve it should be below 2.5 . So u werent very far out. All positive vibes for u xx

pregnancydiaries · 28/01/2022 10:11

Great news @Vimto1991 xxx

Clomid1 · 28/01/2022 10:19

@MrsNT aww same! I just want to know I’ve waited 20 weeks I think its long enough! Gut feeling is a boy for me but we’ll wait and see

@MrsTwentyNine awww congrats 🥳 now you can buy cute little boy outfits when you’re ready.

I am still dead set on not shopping before 35+ weeks 😅

Flowerbug1994 · 28/01/2022 10:34

Hi Girls, can I ask why some of you are so against buying anything for baby until so late on. Am genuinely intrigued to hear your reasons as most of us are at such a safe place now. X

imhereforthecake · 28/01/2022 10:49

Just saw this on Instagram so sent it to my husband. The things our bodies go through!

@Flowerbug1994 I'm too scared to 'celebrate' and buy things excitedly as I haven't had my 20 weeks scan yet.

Even then I'll feel like: welll it's not guaranteed is it? I still have a long way to go (20 or so weeks), let's just wait until baby is viable so like 24 weeks. I know I prob need to stop thinking that 😬

Another reason is if I buy the pram etc now I'll just be staring at it every day and the baby is still some way away. I feel like if we buy this at 32 weeks or so the excitement will be so real - baby will be here v soon.

I had a look at baby clothes in a shop this week but wasn't brave enough to buy, I need to stop being such a wuss
