@MrsNT my gp gave me the number of the secretary of one of the consultants. Think she may be the lead one as I saw one of her team last time, but think I’ll be seeing her from now on. Might be worth asking your gp - the letters the consultants send will have the secretary number on it.

RoseValleyRambles · 26/01/2022 17:07

@peeache this is nuts unless they can explain why it still applies with your reduced BMI. Grrr. Worth contacting PALS?

Clueless22 · 26/01/2022 17:09

@MrsTwentyNine good luck with your scan and don't be worried that something is wrong due to no kicks. I haven't had any yet and had my 20 scan last week and all was absolutely fine. I have a postierer placenta too so that wouldn't be what was causing the delay x

Prema112 · 26/01/2022 17:15

@PeeAche social services for refusing an epi?!? Madness!!

ChildOfFriday · 26/01/2022 17:39

@PeeAche I think your rant was entirely justified! So sorry to hear of the way that you, @Vimto1991 and others are being treated Sad

@vimto1991 i was sent a copy of the letter so will check again to see if there is any contact number on it

MrsNT · 26/01/2022 17:58

@vimto1991 do you know what your tsh level was?

Vimto1991 · 26/01/2022 18:29

@MrsNT I don’t, I’ll speak to the consultant about it. If anything I don’t want to know, I’ve spent the afternoon crying that something is or could go wrong, so the little hope that it’s only slightly low is keeping me from falling apart completely.

Rolledthedice · 26/01/2022 18:41

Sorry to hear about all the troubles some of you are going through with your NHS care and GPs, I hope you can get some support and find ways to address them!

I’m pleased that our 20 week scan went well today and “Babs” is all good (phew). She was snuggling into my placenta for most of it so the photo we got is a bit squished haha. Best of luck to anyone else having their scan this week! 😊

Oops double image 🙈 It’s only one, not twins! 😂

pregnancydiaries · 26/01/2022 18:47

@Rolledthedice fab news on wee babs!!xx

MrsTwentyNine · 26/01/2022 19:55

@Clueless22 @Turniptracker @Lostintranslatio thank you all for your replies!

I just "thought" I felt them but I'm sure it was wind now 😂 Will update after scan. I have a posterior placenta too so thought I'd feel them sooner but never mind! There's a reason why they say 18-24 weeks to feel anything on the NHS I suppose

Good luck to you all too! So pleased about your scan @Clueless22 ❤️

MrsNT · 26/01/2022 20:10

@vimto1991 awww hun im sure it will be ok. Dont google..that will just make u worried. Plus now ur on the right track so all will be good. Stay positive

Vimto1991 · 26/01/2022 20:12

@mrsnt thank you for your kind words. Hope you manage to get in touch with your consultant. ❤️

MrsNT · 26/01/2022 20:14

Btw ladies tesco have a lovely variety of baby clothes at the moment and sale on many of their baby clothes. Do check it out if anyone is buying

yellowpinkbluegreen · 26/01/2022 20:58

Hey ladies!

Just curious if anyone has booked NCT or Bump and Baby classes?

Debating booking both as we're in a new area but wondered what everyone else's thoughts were and don't want to waste money if it's repeated into!!

aus12 · 26/01/2022 21:11

@PeeAche I’m also having those types of lower abdominal pains & also a HG sufferer so wonder if it is pulled ligaments. I saw the midwife today & she if the pains continue & don’t go away with paracetamol to go to the maternity unit assessment to get checked out. I’m still being sick every few days but nowhere near as bad as I was.

Annabell1 · 26/01/2022 21:20

@PleaseSendNoodles We are all here for you, if you are feeling a bit down. Flowers Sending you a big hug.

@Vimto1991 I'm also consultant led for Thyroid and they want to see me every 6 weeks. Make sure you are persistent, ask about your results and try to stay on top of things. I saw two consultants last time I was there, one saying that your TSH should be under 2.5 and one under 4. Hope things will be managed better going forward.

@yellowpinkbluegreen Yes, I have just booked a Bump and Baby class :) and was shocked to see that they were almost fully booked. They seem to be really popular at least where I Iive. Well the mid May to mid June one was actually already full, so I booked the one from end of June to end of July. Hope that will still work out. Crossing fingers. I like that it's spread over a few weeks and they also cover baby first aid.

CurryandSnuggle · 26/01/2022 21:21

@PeeAche wow I can’t believe the consultant treated you like that! You shouldn’t be forced into anything and it should be your decision. Why on Earth would they need to inform social services that you don’t want consultant care or an epidural?!

Annabell1 · 26/01/2022 21:22

@Pandamama88 Sorry to hear your news. But at least it's something that can be treated. Flowers Try to stay positive.

GrowBabyGrow · 26/01/2022 21:25

I booked a bump and baby class last night too - the mid June to mid July one was also almost full. I think they seem to book up faster than NCT as there's not as many courses. Surprised at how early it's booked up though! I wasn't going to do it because I was a bit anxious about it feeling like forcing friendship but one of my best friends just did a bump and baby course and said it was great and just a nice opportunity to meet other mums to be.

Flowerbug1994 · 26/01/2022 21:27

@PeeAche it is so wrong they force intervention on you so early !! Am going in with an open mind if I do it with gas and sure brilliant if I need all the drugs they have I’ll take that to you don’t get no more medals for not having anything but everything we do should be our choice not the choice to make it easier on some doctors in case things go abit pear shaped I would be furious and completely refuse it like you have !

MrsNT · 26/01/2022 21:46

Does anyone get a stitch type sensatiom for a second or 2 in the morning on the bump when gettinf up after sleeping

GrowBabyGrow · 26/01/2022 21:57

@MrsNT yes I've been getting that too. And when I turn over in bed too quickly I get a bit of a pulling feeling around the bottom of my bump. I think it's the round ligaments (which I feel like I blame everything on at the mo!)

MrsNT · 26/01/2022 23:25

@growbabygrow phew relief to hear someone else has it aswell. It only happens once a day usually when i get out of bed in the morning and is only for a 1 or 2 seconds
