Is anyone still having cramps at 16 weeks? Really want a scan. It’s mild cramps but still there none the less with a few stabbing like pains once in a while. Really putting me on edge.

mrkb · 31/12/2021 10:42

@Clomid1 I am - had really painful ones for about 4 hours yesterday. I took some paracetamol eventually and had a nap and they went after but I do have pretty regular stabbing pains which I've put down to stretching and/or round ligament pain.

mrkb · 31/12/2021 10:42

Forgot to add - I'm 17+5

Clueless22 · 31/12/2021 11:14

@Clomid1 I have been getting cramps a lot and have just put it down to the expansion of my uterus and round ligament pains

yellowpinkbluegreen · 31/12/2021 11:14

@Clomid1 @mrkb I was having tummy pain and thought it was ligament pain but the midwife tested by urine at 16 week appt and said it was UTI! I hadn't even thought of that.

Is your wee cloudy? If so that's a sign! Xx

RoseValleyRambles · 31/12/2021 11:14

@Clomid1 I'm still having cramps too, tho am a bit behind you (14+6) not as bad as weeks 12/13, but if I'm not very mobile I notice them.

Flowerbug1994 · 31/12/2021 11:34

@clolo yes I have a posteria placenta to so I thought I may feel earlier I’ve been lying down and think I’ve felt a few rumbles here and there. It makes me so want to order a Doppler but I know a lot of health professionals don’t recommend them and I don’t want to become obsessed with it as I’ve heard over exposure isn’t good for baby either. Am just hoping he gives me a few more wriggles today to calm me down.

fpeg · 31/12/2021 12:20

Has anyone/is anyone considering cord blood storage?

PeeAche · 31/12/2021 12:48

@fpeg I want to donate my cord for stem cells (same principle thing) but unfortunately neither practice is carried out by my Trust. I think the only hospitals currently in it are London based and 1 in the East Mids.

If you can do it, do it. The cord stuff is a miracle.

@mrkb @Clueless22 @yellowpinkbluegreen @RoseValleyRambles

Thanks that’s reassuring to hear. Will mention it when I see the midwife in 2 weeks.

Want to get checked for thrush, bv and anything else that could possibly cause smelly discharge too.

I had it when I used cyclogest it seems to have gone now but still want to be checked out for those things

fpeg · 31/12/2021 14:34

@PeeAche can't donate in my area either, so I'm looking at private options for storage. I feel it's basically like paying for insurance, you hope that you'll never need it but if you did, it feels reassuring to have the option. It feels kinda entitled/selfish to be doing it, essentially for myself, but given that the greater community good option isn't there I'm seriously considering the private route.

beansprout55 · 31/12/2021 14:40

@Clomid1 I'm still having cramps x

Just found out DH still lies to me. 😞 Don't know what to do with it. Locked myself in the bedroom and just can't stop crying and feeling hopeless. I could never wish I wasn't pregnant, I love my baby, but right now I need a cigarette and a g&t or something to knock me out for a few days. Don't know how I'll get through the next few hours without something.
He kept promising he'd stopped so clearly I can never trust him again. What am I meant to do? Feeling so low.

Clomid1 · 31/12/2021 15:21

@beansprout55 if you don’t mind me asking… I may have missed the backstory to this, what is he lying to you about? I am assuming it’s not things that are minor otherwise you wouldn’t be upset?

pregnancydiaries · 31/12/2021 18:48

@PeeAche how are you doing? how is the bleeding? Sending lots of ♥️

Lostintranslatio · 31/12/2021 18:56

I'm 14+3 and I still have occasionally mild period like pains.

DaimDillyDoo · 31/12/2021 19:17

@Prema112 you were right - she's moving around today a lot Smile

Happy new year to you all, pretty sure DH and I have covid so we've decided to give the NYE party a miss. I can't say I'm mad because I feel like a heavyset rhino, can't find anything to wear, not sleeping well and I just can't be arsed. Grin

RoseValleyRambles · 31/12/2021 19:20

I believe that cord blood is less useful for the baby itself, and more potentially useful for a sinking. May be wrong but was reading about it yesterday. Hence why good to donate to public banks if it available to give everyone better odds of finding a match.

Prema112 · 31/12/2021 19:30

@DaimDillyDoo great to hear! Mines gone quiet today Hmm@Clueless22 this is the trouble when you start feeling them you worry whenever you can't!

Clueless22 · 31/12/2021 21:07

@Prema112 Iol I know I'm going to be the biggest worry wobbler when the movements do eventually start Confused

MrsNT · 31/12/2021 23:32

For those who are starting to feel baby movements, does it feel like swirly gas movements for a few seconds?

CurryandSnuggle · 31/12/2021 23:54

Will catch up on thread tomorrow but came to say - happy new year, almost the year that we will have our babies!!! Grin woohoo!!!

PeeAche · 01/01/2022 02:36

Hey @pregnancydiaries bleeding slowed to a brown smear now. Thanks for thinking of me.

I also can't see the post of a lady who lost at 17 weeks?

@beansprout55 I'm sorry you're having a shit time. I've been through something similar years ago and it's heartbreaking that they ruin your trust like that. Especially when you need his most support during these months, when you're feeling vulnerable due to pregnancy. Did things get cleared up a bit? How are you feeling now? Hopefully you manage to get some peace... sending lots of love to you xx

pregnancydiaries · 01/01/2022 08:11

@PeeAche great news, hope you’re feeling better xx

Happy new year everyone - what a year it’s going to be!!!
