@PlodandPod you should have booking appointment between 8-10 weeks, then scan separately between 10-14 weeks (you’ll be offered Nuchal Translucency scan and blood test which tests for downs, edwards and patau’s, and at my trust they offer the flu jab as well at the same time).

Prema112 · 20/11/2021 12:04

Can I just have a quick moan to you ladies?

I'm feeling so rubbish today. Yesterday I felt a lot better so I'm even more gutted to be feeling really sick & tired and crampy again today. I suppose this is how it goes. We planned a family pastry breakfast to tell my son about the baby this morning but I've not felt well enough to leave bed Sad

Ok, moan over, thanks for reading!

Journeylikenomother · 20/11/2021 12:09

@Iamhev GAVISCON all the way!

I am waking up in the middle of the night with heartburn also so the last few nights I've kept a travel mug of milk by the bed which helps.

Any weird cravings or food aversions? I have almost entirely lost my sweet tooth and I just want salty things - popcorn being a favourite! Also, chopped up banana or pineapple with lime juice (I cannot explain the lime juice but I have to have it).

Thank you!

I haven't had a booking appointment, I had a private early scan a few weeks ago and they put me at 8 weeks so I'm now 10+4 if I go by that. Should I be worried about no booking appt info? 😣

CurryandSnuggle · 20/11/2021 12:22

@PlodandPod ah just read on nhs website it’s 8-12 weeks, my mistake. So you should still get one! If you don’t I’d contact to ask.

CurryandSnuggle · 20/11/2021 12:29

@Prema112 don’t apologise, it’s soul destroying especially when it interferes with family plans that you were looking forward to.

I was well all week but nausea has come back since last night and now I’m feeling crappy Confused I’m 12+1, shouldn’t this be ending now!

unknownscot · 20/11/2021 12:37

@PlodandPod I'd phone your midwife service and chase it up - I booked mine at 4 weeks and my my booking appointment is on Wednesday (10 weeks)

X

PeeAche · 20/11/2021 13:03

I agree with Unknown, Plod. I received my booking appointment in the post ages ago. Chase up your midwife!

Anyone else getting bad headaches?
i got really bad migraines when i was younger and they stopped but the past couple weeks they have came back, its almost every single day and its so difficult to leave bed!
Its so annoying because i have so much to do but 0 energy to do any of it its so drainingConfused

Willow1981 · 20/11/2021 13:35

I've had appointments all the way through to May come through the post.
My booking in was a couple of weeks ago and already had a test for GD which was all normal.
My midwife is pretty good, I can text her questions and she generally comes back pretty quickly.

I'm sooo tired still (11+1). DH was away last night, and I woke up this morning at 11.30!
Buy I am grateful that this is my only symptom at the moment. I had the cramping early on. Exactly like pre-period cramps. I get a few twinges now and then but nothing like it was at 6 weeks.

Prema112 · 20/11/2021 13:59

Thanks @CurryandSnuggle You sound very similar to me, sorry to hear you're feeling rubbish. I'm just struggling with not being able to make any plans I think. I wanna make Christmas plans but I dont wanna have to cancel them all! Just had a nap and beans on toast and feeling marginally better

Iamhev · 20/11/2021 14:05

@Journeylikenomother my baby is going to come out looking like a cheese block at the rate I'm eating cheese! Lol

PleaseSendNoodles · 20/11/2021 14:12

Thank you so much @RoseValleyRambles and @laurenGame I feel much better this morning. And knowing so many of us have had spotting does bring me some comfort that it’s normal! 💕

And when I read ‘I was looking at the stars’ I did think ‘wow. That’s pretty deep’ 😂

PleaseSendNoodles · 20/11/2021 14:14

That sounds rough, @Prema112 - hope you feel brighter soon!

ALHCTPS · 20/11/2021 14:38

@Iamhev with my first, I subsisted on cheese Doritos and flamin’ hot monster munch for the first 3-4 months, as it was all I could keep down. Beloved used to joke the baby would be orange. As it happens, he was distinctly ginger for the first six months. Blond now, but he looked distinctly like Neil Kinnock for a while, as he was bald on top.

Prema112 · 20/11/2021 15:14

@Wellthiswasunexpected how was the jab?? I've just been told it's gonna be an hours wait...

@PleaseSendNoodles thank you! Glad to hear the spotting has stopped, hope you feel calmer x

AlbatrossSociety · 20/11/2021 16:48

My goodness you've all been busy! Been so good to catch up. @RoseValleyRambles I had a little tear when I read your news, may just be particularly emotional today but so relieved for you. I'm feeling so rough today and have to go out for dinner later so not looking forwards to that. Have my booking in appt on Monday and not quite sure what to expect

PeeAche · 20/11/2021 16:50

The thought of cheese is turning my stomach at the moment. I made a pie for dinner tonight but the family have overruled me and now we're having baked Camembert instead. Which appeals to me about as much as a kick in the head. So I guess I'm having bread... 😂

Aw thanks @albatrosssociety. We're still a bit emotional. I wish I had a recording of our faces...

That is just cruel.
CurryandSnuggle · 20/11/2021 17:38

@PeeAche cook your pie whilst they eat Camembert Smile

Wellthiswasunexpected · 20/11/2021 17:54

@Prema112 Mine wasn’t great... I was already silently crying when I got there (because clearly I’m an unstable wreck right now) but when I sat down to get jabbed the lady saw my form and said “wait - pregnant?” I said yessss….then I told her 11 weeks. She went “11 WEEKS?! Did you speak with the doctor here??” and ran off to speak to someone while I started having a panic attack (because WTF?!). She came back and said “hmm from 11 weeks it SHOULD be okay” then went ahead and did it. So all in all, absofuckenlutely rubbish experience. Now back home checking a sanitary pad every 10 mins while my cat heaves up a hairball. 1/10 day, I’d say.

…PLEASE tell me your booster session was better?!

Wellthiswasunexpected · 20/11/2021 17:57

@PeeAche Mmmmm pie. I also think you should cook it regardless!

Prema112 · 20/11/2021 18:07

@Wellthiswasunexpected Oh no that's so stressful!! I'm so sorry it wasn't a reassuring experience. Mine was good. A lovely pharmacist came to talk to me while I was waiting and said it's completely safe in pregnancy and my vaccinator was talking about all her pregnant colleagues who had recently had it so I felt pretty reassured. We will be fine!

Pandamama88 · 20/11/2021 18:10

@Wellthiswasunexpected That is shocking delivery. You'd think if you're jabbing people all day every day you are already clued up on all the latest advice on when you can and can't have a jab. And they definitely added to your anxiety there. I think complications brought on by jabs, pregnant or not are extremely rare and the benefits far outweigh the risks. But do whatever you need to to ease your worries. I've got my covid booster next week.
