@Iamhev I don’t know if you’re a milk drinker or maybe it gives you the boke but it really really helps with heartburn too

rathernotshare · 20/11/2021 08:59

Has anyone had just general uncomfortableness around their ribs? It feels like there's stuff packed under there, I'm well aware there isn't!

sunflower198 · 20/11/2021 09:01

[quote Iamhev]@Prema112 I've also had cramping, felt like my period was coming at times. Everything I've read about cramping suggests that it's perfectly normal and it's your uterus making room.

I had a new sysmptom rear it's ugly head early this morning from 1am to 3am ... heartburn! I've never had it before and wow its uncomfortable. Reading on the Rennie website you can take their heartburn medication no problem when pregnant but then there's always that big star that tells you to check with your doctor any medication when preggers. Getting hold of my doctor to ask would be a fine thing!

Has anyone else taken anything for heartburn, I asume I'm OK to pop to Boots and pick up some Rennie to take if it comes back?

In my 1st pregnancy I literally drank bottles of gaviscon! I'm dreading the heartburn starting again this time around

Iamhev · 20/11/2021 09:13

Thanks ladies, off to Boots I go to stock up x

PeeAche · 20/11/2021 09:14

My period-like cramps started at 8 weeks. They only come at night and they keep me awake. Before that I only had sharp tugging pains low down in my pelvis. I'm assured it's all normal.

Gaviscon is fine in pregnancy! I think it's the only source I'm actually getting any calcium from too... 😂

@rathernotshare yes! Right under my ribs this morning!! It’s gone now but no idea what it is. Panicking as everyone is writing about their upper stomach been hard- mine is flabby as anything!!!

Prema112 · 20/11/2021 09:22

@PeeAche @Iamhev @Journeylikenomother Thanks for the reassurance, I feel less worried now. When's that bit in pregnancy when you feel great and are glowing?!? Can't imagine that...

PeeAche · 20/11/2021 09:23

To be fair, I think it's mostly just me squawking on about my hard stomach, with some reassurances from Curry. 😂 I have convinced myself it is because I have a short upper body, so everything is squished.

My DH has given me a lie in this morning. I'm in shock.

Also had bad cramping last night. Always feels like strong period pains at when I'm trying to get comfortable and nod off.

Getting comfortable in bed is a nightmare! So use to sleeping on my front.

Prema112 · 20/11/2021 09:50

@Olive60 I agree I think my first baby related purchase it's gonna be a pregnancy pillow

Wellthiswasunexpected · 20/11/2021 09:54

Off to get my second vaccine today. Haven’t slept. Never been so scared. Last time I bled SO much afterwards I can’t even…urgh.

Prema112 · 20/11/2021 09:59

@Wellthiswasunexpected I've got my booster today!

Wellthiswasunexpected · 20/11/2021 10:03

@Prema112 oh!!! good luck!!!! X

unknownscot · 20/11/2021 10:14

I've been on gaviscon for a couple of weeks now 😂🤦🏽‍♀️

CurryandSnuggle · 20/11/2021 10:18

Good luck to those having their covid booster today.

To anyone who was worried about flu jab, I had it on Thursday and have had no symptoms from it Smile

ALHCTPS · 20/11/2021 10:23

@PeeAche You’re totally right about how, with the new baby, the focus switches to the family you’re creating and away from the one you were born into. I’m NC with my family (emigrated to the other side of the world at 19 to escape them and then finally pulled the plug altogether about ten years ago - so wish I’d done it earlier) and his family are appalling. My partner had moments of disappointment when, predictably, his family failed to be happy or supportive, but they increasingly recede into the background. They’re irrelevant. The family we create, with our children and the family and friends who are worth it, is all that matters. Everyone else is peripheral.

destiEos · 20/11/2021 10:37

@beansprout55 Jesus! What a total bitch your SIL is. Just wow, can't believe someone would not just say that but put it in writing. I am incensed on your behalf 😠

@RoseValleyRambles I thought it was really sweet that you were reading the stars for information 😂

destiEos · 20/11/2021 10:40

I've been taking a handful of Morrisons own-brand version of Rennies most days, so hopefully they're fine 😬

PlodandPod · 20/11/2021 10:50

I'm still here reading I just don't seem to post much. Glad everyone is doing well! So nice to see scan photos too 🥰

I have an appt for my first scan but haven't heard anything about a booking appt. Is it all in one?! A bit confused!

3yearstrying · 20/11/2021 10:55

@laurenGame that makes sense actually, thanks! I'll give the liners a break and see if it helps, if not back on antibioticsAngry

Prema112 · 20/11/2021 11:33

@laurenGame from what I've read swimming in a pool or the sea is fine! And good low impact exercise when pregnant

PeeAche · 20/11/2021 11:38

Oh yeah, I go swimming once a week with the kids, and I've had no issues whatsoever. Planning on stopping at about week 37 and starting up again (with baby) when I'm confirmed as healed and it's safe to (around 6 weeks after birth).

I know it's safe during pregnancy but it is unsafe after birth until stitches are healed and cervix is closed etc.
