Congrats to everyone on your scans!

@Mered12 cramps (to varying degrees) are just part and parcel of pregnancy I believe. Mine had calmed down for the past month however I’ve felt them again the past couple of days (13+4). So long as they aren’t very painful, and you aren’t bleeding I’d try not to worry.

@Clomid1 a very important question! The issue is that the fruit can be soaked in rum or brandy. My take is that shop-bought, in moderation is fine. You are probably consuming only a couple of ml at most. I swapped my usual stollen slices to stollen bites which are tiny and just having as a treat once or twice a week but at least they make me feel like I’m not missing out altogether! I will prob avoid my homemade Xmas cake though because I know how much brandy I’ve put in that and it’s a lot. Husband is thrilled he’ll have a whole cake to himself 🤣

PeeAche · 02/12/2021 07:09

@Clomid1 I am making a boozy trifle for Christmas Eve and I will be allowing myself a small amount of the bottom layer. I will also be allowing myself a very small portion of Christmas pudding. I can never manage much of either anyway, after all the feasting.

I am forgoing any thought of a Christmas drink because of the trifle, but I am planning half a flute of champagne at midnight on New Years Eve - for the ceremony of it, not the booze itself.

I haven't so much as sniffed alcohol in months. I will allow myself this one "blow out".

Hi ladies hope you’re all well. Hope you don’t mind me jumping in I should be 11+1 today if my early scan was right but bambino was quite hard to see so early so due 22nd June. I have my 12 week scan on Monday scared stiff about it even though I have HG so going to be fun having a scan with a sick bowl again 🙈 stupid question but for those suffering with sickness who had a scan did them pressing down with the scanner make you feel sick? And anyone else showing yet it’s my first and I thought it was bloat but it’s not going down despite the daily tornados sorry for TMI 😂

hellointhere · 02/12/2021 09:56

@dizzysheep your due date is the summer solstice! That's lovely ☺️ mine is the 25th

brumbrum89 · 02/12/2021 09:59

It's so lovely to see all your scans. I was due to have a scan on Monday but I have had to rebook as I have just taken a lateral flow test and it's come back positive for COVID. I am double vaccinated but can't help being really worried about the little one. Really hoping all will be ok as COVID has really knocked me back.

Vimto1991 · 02/12/2021 10:20

@brumbrum89 hope your recovery is quick!! ☺️

rathernotshare · 02/12/2021 11:11

@Dizzysheep my first scan she really hurt me digging in, the second one a week later she barely pressed at all! I think it depends on who's doing it. The first was also really grumpy and the second was lovely

PurpleMoon12 · 02/12/2021 12:12

13 weeks tomorrow according to LMP and i think my morning sickness has just gone worse!! I'm back in the office as of next week and don't know how I'll cope (or my colleagues with my random heaving)

Prema112 · 02/12/2021 12:27

@Mered12 None of us are as far along as you, but I had a week of back cramps at 12-13 weeks, sometimes sore enough to go to bed with a hot water bottle. I've seen the baby since and all seems fine. I think it's usually just things stretching

@brumbrum89 Sorry you've got COVID! I've just recovered from it. Have you told your midwife? They put me on blood thinners as both being pregnant and covid increase your clot risk.

@Unarosaes Congrats on your scan! You must be so happy!

Prema112 · 02/12/2021 12:33

Ladies, I've just thought to myself 'Wow Im really feeling much less sick today' and then I realised that I've forgotten to take my pregnacare this morning.... Could it be after all this time it was those vitamins making me feel so rubbish?!?

rathernotshare · 02/12/2021 12:37

@Prema112 I found pregnacare made me sick both the trying to get pregnant ones and the pregnancy ones! I still have sickness when I switched but not nearly as bad

destiEos · 02/12/2021 12:42

@Kitkat247 and @DaimDillyDoo the meds are glorious, why didn't the midwife tell me about this 2 weeks ago! I feel like some medieval woman having spent 2 weeks in bed when I could have just been taking a few pills 🙄

Also I can see your little one's head and I think a foot @DaimDillyDoo!

Hoping to come off the all-carb diet slowly, not sure I could eat a salad yet, but I seem to have developed a liking for pre-packed chicken mayonnaise sandwiches 😬

I'm also 6 months full pay and 6 months stat, which is a bit pants.. Does anyone know how the paternity thing works - could I take my 6 months at full and then other half take the same?

@EarlGreywithLemon also thinking planned c section, I asked doctor what she recommended (old bird like me, first pregnancy) and she carefully said there was no official advice, but she'd go with cesarean. Frightened of either to be fair but I'll take whatever is less painful all else being equal..

Also have Glucose test, but not until March?!

Had proper scan and bloods today - waiting for results but NT is 2mm, so looking good 🤞🏻

Ran into lovely doctor we saw on Tuesday while waiting for Costa coffee, who is just the best. As in fact everyone has been at the hospital - the NHS is amazing 💕

Anyone know anything about antenatal classes - midwife gestured at the wall in her office and said to email them. I did and it's a one off, half an hour virtual call. Does the NHS not do regular classes?

@RoseValleyRambles - also ordered my tfl badge a month ago, do I have to chase do you think or is it just going to take longer? Not that I'm dying to get on the tube anyway..

@PeeAche - I was also planning a sip of champagne on NYE but was going to keep it quiet 😬 Up until this morning the thought of alcohol made my stomach flip, I still don't want any but at least it doesn't make me feel ill thinking about it.

@Dizzysheep I was really worried about the scan and nausea, the cyclizine has worked wonders though - if you're not on it, get some immediately! And I also didn't feel there was much pressing at all compared to the scan I had at 8 weeks.

@brumbrum89 - sorry to hear, hope you're better soon. As I understand it the big problem is pregnant women who are unvaccinated, I'm sure you'll have a super speedy recovery 🌸

Congrats on all the scans everyone, feeling optimistic for everyone today 🎺

MrsNT · 02/12/2021 13:07

Congrats on scans everyone. All positive xx

@Turniptracker look at the little legs!!

Turniptracker · 02/12/2021 14:05

@3yearstrying the next karate kid! Yours is beautiful! What a gorgeous little face! Glad everything was well and hope you feel a little more relaxed now. How many weeks are you? I'm very jealous of how clear your photo is. Mine was jutting its lip out in other photos, right little thug Grin

3yearstrying · 02/12/2021 14:09

@Turniptracker im 13+3 Grin oh they were a little bugger jumping up and down!! I see a big head already which scares me as i know whats to come lol!!

RoseValleyRambles · 02/12/2021 15:31

@destieos I'd suggest asking at a ticket office or contacting them on social. I think their backlog must be quite long...

I had a high five from baby for mine 😂 Frimley Park isn't too far from me, I'm Southampton area now but was born at Frimley 😊
Clomid1 · 02/12/2021 16:13

@Iamhev @EarlGreywithLemon how did your scans go.

Mine was good except she struggled with getting the nuchal measurement so had to go for a walk and she prodded me loads which was really painful. Unfortunately I had a really moody sonographer. I am measuring 11+ 5. My previous early scan would have put me at 11+6.

I saw baby’s little hands. She tried to show me different parts but I just couldn’t work out most of it 😅

Iamhev · 02/12/2021 16:25

@Clomid1 I was terrified beforehand but thankfully there was nothing to worry about. I wasn't able to get the nuchal measurement either as the baby would not stop wriggling. I therefore have to go back at a later date for bloods to determine my risks.
I'm measuring 12 + 6 which is spot on with what my flo app says which was great to see.
So glad your scan went well too. I had a scan at 7 weeks and it's crazy how much they grow in that short space of time ... no longer looks like an alien xx

Iamhev · 02/12/2021 16:27

@Clomid1 the measurement that determine DS risks etc just thought that may not be the nuchal measurement ... I'm still getting my head round it all 🙃

EarlGreywithLemon · 02/12/2021 16:37

All good at the scan here too! I can’t locate the photo wherever I’ve stuffed it at the bottom of my bag, but I’ll post it later. They dated me as 12+4 rather than 12+1, even though I’m very confident of my ovulation and conception dates (I was doing OPKs) and could not have conceived when they say I did anyway. But it wasn’t worth me saying anything for the sake of 3 days!
I thought I was more relaxed until I went up for my ECG - tried to avoid the crowded lift by taking the stairs and came face to face with the (open!) door to the Covid ward! Hopefully no harm done, but still frightened the life out of me Grin

EarlGreywithLemon · 02/12/2021 16:41

@Clomid1 and @Iamhev great news! Did she get the measurement in the end Clomid? Very annoying that she was moody; it’s not like it was your fault. Iamhev will you have another scan as well as the bloods?
