Does anyone else have a little bump(bloat) one day and then absolutely nothing other days?

It's freaking me out!

In bed with crackers and ginger cordial. Eurgh. 2 crackers down, 6 to go...

Then I shall nap.

This had better be a one off.

Anyone else doing a "sneak peek" test? My husband got it for me as an early Christmas present. It was £60 and you collect some blood in a little tube and send it off. It tells you if you are having a boy or girl by searching for male fetal DNA in your blood. I'm waiting in my results.

@Pandamama88 I want to do it, just waiting for my 12 week scan next week and I will order it after that. I can't wait until the 20 week scan to know if it is a boy or a girl! Was it easy to do the test? Thanks!

@MsBubbles85 So the test was a little tricky but doable. You have to wash your hands and work surface really well. Any male person or pets even cannot come into contact with the kit or it could affect the result. You pierce your finger with a thingy and try to get the blood drops into the vial (my blood kept clotting after a few drops so I had to pierce my finger 3 times total to get the amount I needed). Then you have to take the package to the post office (not the post box as extremes of temperature can affect the result). But it's done now and I'm looking forward to the result.

@UNKNOWNSCOT thats pretty much my state. Its due to bloating in my case. It deflates in the morning and inflates in the evening 😂

That's so cool! Didn't know we could know this early without doing the super expensive one.

I get given gender for free with my NIPT scan, at 10 weeks.

I'm in Aus so not sure if UK is different. But sounds like could be easier and faster if just ask for gender together with NIPT test?

They can also deliver it either in a balloon for you, in an envelope, or simply emailed

I got constipation today and I look so bloated :( Went to a pharmacy and they gave me sachets as well as suppositories.. trying the sachets first.

Personally I'd go to a pharmacy as when constipation gets bad then it's really painful and can take a while to shift. I'm already eating lots of fruit and fiber so my diet is fine 🤷‍♀️

Sat in hospital after 12 week scan as baby is standing on its head so having to wait 20 minutes and drink! 🙈 they did however find a small fibroid - anyone else find this? A bit of a worry, wasn’t picked up privately.

@vimto1991 I have several medium / large fibroids and apparently they're only really a risk if quite big / in the wrong place.

Oooh thank you! That’s reassuring. The person scanning isn’t very talkative haha so I was scared to ask, she almost seemed annoyed the baby was on its head. 🙈

@Vimto1991 that's hilarious that the baby is on its head!! I'm going in soon for a second stab at measurements, hope the baby is more cooperative than last time!

@laurenGame i havent got constipation but still get trapped wind.and it gets so painful some days. Had green tea this morning and some yoga poses which settled it but by lunch time it came back ! Have got a call today from surgery so will raise it.

Just had my bloods done as a part of my booking app from last week. Back at work now and I just feel so so sick and drained like I have no energy. Im just over feeling like this everyday. All I can think about is getting home and curling up into a ball in bed!

@Pandamama88 and @MsBubbles85 I did the sneak peek early on as I was curious to see what came back. It was indeed a fiddly test but I managed to get a result, which then matched my result from the NIPT. It seems to be pretty accurate if you get a girl result as it means no cross-contamination of male hormones have snuck in.

When is the NIPT done here in UK on NHS. Is it at the 12 week or 20 week scan?

I feel dreadful today, sore throat and HG has reared back up. A bad cold and headache. Anyone else got the worse backache but it feels more like my spine than actual muscle...

In bed and not moving!

Oh and the trapped wind/bloating is awful - it keeps waking me up in the night it's so painful.

I find laying on my knees on my front with my bum in the air helps bring the wind out

As awful as it is..but glad to know im not the only one with this trapped wind.i tried a pose from a youtube video and it helped but came back later. So u have ti lie on your back and bring knees to chest and rock from side to side. Then put one leg down and hold one knee up and rock side to side. Repeat on other leg.
Green tea helps. Rennie isnt helping . Sometimes drinking warm water helps

I think they only do the NIPT test on the NHS if they need to investigate your risk of downs etc further. The NIPT test costs about£400 to do privately. We already had our 12 week scan and blood test (a different test from NIPT) and that gave the chance of Downs or Edward's or Patau's syndrome as less than 1 in 10000. So we didn't need that aspect of the NIPT test. My husband did a bit of a Google and found the sneak peek test which was a lot cheaper and we'd find out the sex which was the main thing we were interested in.

Does anyone think I’m been a bit unreasonable and hormonal?! But I asked my partner for some middle names and he suggested his sisters name! I was like not a chance, we’re not married and I’m giving the child his surname and I think that should be enough! Why on earth would I name my baby after his sister whose very nice but I have three sisters of my own and that would just be weird!
Then we had a row over godparents, we’re not religious we’re not even married so why have a pretend godparents and a christening?! He was like “because it would be a nice thing to do for my sister who has no children!” Sorry how is that my problem?! I get on with his sister but I don’t get why she needs a special role! I have my family also and I think an Aunty is a lovely enough role. It’s almost like he feels guilty for moving on and having his own family!

I missed my scan 😞 The midwife said 2pm but then I got a letter that said 3:15pm so I came at 3pm.. Turns out the scan was at 2pm and then I had an appointment with the doctor at 3:15pm..
Am I completely stupid or would you have figured that out yourself?
Also forgot my blue folder, and when I say 'forgot' I had no idea I was supposed to bring it with me. The letter said to bring the letter..
Waiting to see the doctor anyway, seeing as I'm here but feel like an idiot. I also have a vial of wee in my pocket 😂
