I had quite bad diarrhoea most of the pregnancy with my first child - I put it down the iron in the vitamins. Normally iron constipates people but can go the other way.

This pregnancy I’m definitely in the constipation crew 😂 but then I’m not eating or drinking normally from the sickness!

ItsSunnyOutside · 22/11/2021 19:14

Hi everyone,
I've been lurking on this thread for a few days now!

I'm just over 6 weeks with baby no.2. Due mid July. We have a 2 year old, so hoping this will be a nice age gap.

I've had a few symptoms, waves of nausea started a few days but its not too bad, I find that if I take little sips of cold water, it subsides. Hoping it doesn't get worse! Gone off tea/coffee and chocolate. Boobs not sore but nips more sensitive, especially when I'm feeding dc.

The one symptom I'm hoping doesn't make an appearance is excess saliva, I had ALOT of it when expecting dc no.1. It would just dribble out of my mouth and I had to spit it out or I'd start gagging.
(I was sick at work a few times because if it.. good times!)
Has anyone else ever had this or currently have it?

How is everyone feeling?

jasmine88woo · 22/11/2021 19:41

Hello all. Sorry I've been quiet over the past few days, I've been feeling dead on my feet 😴
Sickness is becoming stronger every day (I'm 7+3) and also feeling absolutely shattered.

Went for a private early scan on Saturday just for reassurance - we rang at 2pm and they got us in at 3.30! The lady said everything seemed really good. So sign of bleeding anywhere in or around the area, baby measured 6+6 so only 1 day out from my calculations.
We saw the little heartbeat fluttering away but it was still too early to hear it.
She also showed me that my cervix was tightly shut according to the scan- which is good.
The baby just looked like a little wotsit on screen 😁!

Still early days I know, but the scan definitely eased my worries and made everything seem more real.

Had my face to face midwife appointment today where I received my little file with all my notes, she took me weight/measurements /blood pressure and urine sample too 🥰

As many of you have stated, I am also waking at 3am/4am and lying there awake for hourssss! Only seem to fall back to sleep 10mins before my alarm (typical!)...so I'm glad to hear this is normal.

Also having more and more nightmares - is this a thing in pregnancy?...

@Cruz86 I am also having a dull ache hip to hip most of the time - midwife told me it's my body stretching 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Have also got a lot of lower back / sciatica / hip pains.

Midwife stressed the fact that most people underestimate the huge changes the first 12weeks brings. Made me promise to rest lots, sleep lots, nap lots and not to lift anything heavy.

How is everyone else feeling? Hope everybody is ok 💕

SamanthaVimes · 22/11/2021 20:31

@jasmine88woo I had loads of nightmares and dreadful insomnia with my first, hoping I don’t get it again this time as I’m usually up a couple of times with DD!
I usually get nightmares or intense dreams the day before my period too so I assume it’s a hormonal thing

PleaseSendNoodles · 22/11/2021 20:34

@feliznavidad2 Im glad you said that about constipation and spotting because I’m convinced that’s what caused mine over the weekend! The doctor looked at me like I was mad when I suggested a link!

Anyone else caught in the cycle of constipation-laxatives-diarrhoea-repeat? Not gonna lie, this pregnancy business is NOT glamorous.

I have had a little spotting a few days ago and it only happened when I had a difficult bowel movement. I'm thinking this must be linked. I was going to mention it at my booking in appointment on Thursday.

K2022 · 22/11/2021 23:15

@emmatake2

Hey everyone, can I join too? I'm just 4 weeks and due 29th/30th July, I have a DD who is 22 months. This is first time trying again since a miscarriage in the summer. Still a bit nervous so trying not to get too excited yet

@ChrissyAero glad your scan went well!

congratulation and welcome ... we are due date twins hehe im also due 29th :)
Effram · 23/11/2021 09:46

Congratulations to new joiners! @ChrissyAero glad you had such a lovely scan!

I have my bloods appts today (had booking appt on the phone last week). I've been sleeping ok, probably because I've had a stinking cold and a poorly baby so been absolutely shattered, but last night I joined the 3am club and just lay awake from then until the boys woke. I'm exhausted and I have so much work to do to catch up from last week!

My bump is already starting to pop which is making me quite self conscious. 2 weeks until my harmony test and scan, starting to get a bit anxious as just want to see everything is ok.

SamanthaVimes · 23/11/2021 12:48

Anyone else struggling with nausea? I feel very green around the gills today. I hate the first trimester!

kelsn96 · 23/11/2021 12:51

So I woke up at 2am feeling very nauseous for around an hour then vomited violently for the first time at 3am!! Very nauseous this morning not so bad now but feel rubbish. Hope it doesn't happen again tonight, I'm thinking the trigger was been hungry!

Chh0412 · 23/11/2021 12:56

Hi girls.
Sorry I’ve been quiet. I had a big bleed at work on Friday and passed quite a big clot. Had to tell work there and then as needed to go EPAC. I work in the hospital so it was just downstairs. Felt awkward telling my ward sister as i got promoted to deputy ward sister last week and I’ve only been back from maternity leave for 6 weeks. She was really supportive and came down to the clinic with me.
I’m still pregnant but the bleeding is still there everytime I wipe. I have a viability scan tomorrow morning. So nervous. However I’ve been feeling quite sick and was sick Sunday and yesterday morning so trying to take that as a good sign. X x x

Gabs234 · 23/11/2021 12:57

In a twisted way I wish I had even an inkling if nausea Shock The few symptoms I had (sore breasts, slight pressure/pulling sensation, waking up at 4am) seem to have disappeared and now I'm petrified that something is wrong... No idea what's normal or not at 6 weeks but I'm trying hard not to panic

annie1994 · 23/11/2021 12:58

@Efframi I’m only 8+3 and I swear I already have a bit of a bump!? I’m losing weight due to sickness and then when I do eat I bloat like crazy and I’m a bit constipated so maybe it’s that 😂 but I’m sure I’m a bit pot bellied 😳

Anyone who has had an early scan (will be 8+5) did you have it normally or transvaginal? I’m going on Thursday but can’t say I particularly want it transvaginal but I’ve been through worse I guess!!

annie1994 · 23/11/2021 13:01

@Chh0412 you poor thing, I’m so sorry that sounds horrible. Fingers crossed for your scan tomorrow. Positive you still feel sick 🤞🏼

camvt · 23/11/2021 13:16

@annie1994 I had a scan at 5+5 and it was possible to see everything including heartbeat with an abdominal scan. Second scan at 7+4 was transvaginal as they said they could see more detail that way, but it would definitely have been possible to see via abdominal too.

@Gabs234 I barely had any symptoms too and they sort of disappeared around 6-7 weeks. I got super anxious but had a scan and everything is fine. I was praying to feel sick so I had a sign that things were ok 😂I think it's normal for symptoms to come and go, so try not to worry.

@Chh0412 have everything crossed that everything is fine! x

SamanthaVimes · 23/11/2021 13:20

@annie1994 my last pregnancy I had a scan around 8 or 9 weeks and it was transvaginal. Having a scan around 10 weeks this time and hoping it’ll be abdominal but who knows!
Although the worst bit about abdominal ones is having to have a full bladder, only benefit of the transvaginal ones is at least you can have a wee! (And a better picture I suppose Grin)

annie1994 · 23/11/2021 13:22

@SamanthaVimes that’s a very good point! Least I wouldn’t have to hold my wee in. I hated having a full bladder 😂

sle0911 · 23/11/2021 13:22

Jumping on the nausea train, it's definitely getting worse and worse each day 🤢 I haven't actually been sick but nausea alllll dayyy long! Every dinner I usually love makes me almost puke just thinking about it!

Gabs234 · 23/11/2021 13:26

Thanks @camvt that helps a lot!

@Chh0412 that must be really scary. Thinking of you and fingers crossed all is ok xx

SamanthaVimes · 23/11/2021 13:36

@sle0911 I’m the same, finding it so difficult to concentrate at work today!

Had to ask DH to empty the bathroom bin this morning as something in there was making me retch! I normally can’t smell it but pregnancy super smell is back 🤦‍♀️ I’d forgotten about that from last time

Last time I didn’t start to feel better until about 16 weeks which feels a looooong time away

sle0911 · 23/11/2021 13:41

@SamanthaVimes it's awful isn't it, I mean it's nice to have symptoms as a bit of reassurance but I'm reallly struggling to eat anything - half tempted to ring the GP to see if I can try meds but I'm only 7+4 don't know if they'd take me seriously 😂🤷🏼‍♀️

rose7120 · 23/11/2021 13:41

@K2022 and @emmatake2 hello, I'm making you due date triplets as I'm also due 29th

I'm also jumping on the nausea train. I also feel quite hormonal which makes me anxious as I kind of feel like what I do in the run up to my period.

@Chh0412 hope everything is okay! Fingers crossed for the scan xx

Struggling to keep up with the thread - so many of us!

Cruz86 · 23/11/2021 13:47

So sorry you're going through that @Chh0412 and good luck for your scan tomorrow xx

lara9185 · 23/11/2021 13:59

@Chh0412 in my prayers, good luck for your scan! xxxx
