That sounds like round ligament pain @Misty84! I had it early on when I'd stretch, cough etc. It's honestly never ending stress 🤦🏼‍♀️😂 x

laurenGame · 22/11/2021 02:16

Moan alert: I am so fed up nausea. Any other symptom is manageable but sickness if affecting my appetite and I keep losing weight.

In other news I'm 8 weeks tomorrow, time is going slowly. @Cruz86 we both have a scan on Thursday, can't come quick enough.

I'll be finding out the sex in just 2 weeks that seems sooo soon I'm not sure I'm ready for that 🙈😃

CaptainCarp · 22/11/2021 07:20

@Misty84 lots of ladies on the other thread say they were waking up around 4am so it sounds fairly normal. Although a few times its because I've needed to pee!

@Cruz86 I've got my fingers crossed for you for Thursday. Every morning I have a sigh of relief of there's no blood. It's now been a week since my bleed so I'm hoping my mind will drift to other things!

@laurenGame my nausea is getting worse now. Fancied a Mcdonalds yesterday fine eating but about half an hour after coming home the sickness hit... That was not pleasant! Mines been only really bad in the morning before which makes breakfast our of the question.
Thankfully I have plenty of fat stores to keep me going.

Thanks so much @Cruz86 and @CaptainCarp for the reassurance about symptoms! I’ve been on the TTC threads for years, so I know EVERYTHING about infertility and ivf, and NOTHING about actually being pregnant! Delighted to finally be here!

@Cruz86 and @laurenGame best of luck for your scans this week!

HotToddyColdSauvignon · 22/11/2021 07:37

Thanks for the new thread OP!

Can I ask for those of you booking a NIPT - this is to check for things like Down’s syndrome isn’t it?
At my booking in appointment last week my midwife said they’d be checking for that in my 12 week scan through measuring the “something” - forgotten - and if it seems like they’ll be an issue, they’d then refer me for more tests to check.

Should I be booking a private NIPT also?

kelsn96 · 22/11/2021 07:50

@Elsols93 morning!! Well o woke up 2am hungry but of course went back to sleep and the nausea hit me hard this morning. Retching over the toilet feeling like I needed to throw up but wouldn't happen. I knew if I ate something it would make me feel better but took me 45 mins to eat my cereal before work and the thought of my lunch makes my stomach turn! Eased a bit now but expecting it to make an appearance at work which will be a challenge as I am hiding it from my employer who I work closely withGrin

feliznavidad2 · 22/11/2021 08:09

Still struggling with constipation here, it definitely is exacerbating my spotting.

Going to hit the water and dietary fibre hard today, Fybogel just isn't cutting it...

laurenGame · 22/11/2021 08:18

@HotToddyColdSauvignon I believe it's more accurate than NHS and from memory NHS can give a bit of a vague answer like 1 in 5 chances, where's the private one is a lot more precise. They also test for several other tests and abnormalities (about 6 of them - here in Aus). Also they do a gender test free of charge means you'll know gender early at 10 weeks.

But those a totally personal preferences and I've few friends who opted for NHS only. X

annie1994 · 22/11/2021 08:33

@laurenGame I totally understand, the sickness and nausea is just relentless.

I never had sickness this bad with my first son (I had it quite bad but nothing like this) and my partner has now decided to tell me he has twins in his family!! So we’re having a private scan on Thursday (I’ll be 8+5) as I’m now stressing it’s twins 😂

Hope everyone else is plodding on x

HotToddyColdSauvignon · 22/11/2021 08:33

Thanks @laurenGame, ahhh ok, I think I need to discuss with DH then!

Elsols93 · 22/11/2021 09:44

Morning !! Iv just tested positive for covid so now I’m so stressed and anxious this will be the second time that iv had it 🙃🙃 have a head cold atm , doesn’t help that my symptoms are not strong today so worries me more x

Capricorn8990 · 22/11/2021 10:09

Hi all ❤️

Can I please join? I'm 7 weeks pregnant with my first pregnancy.

I have terrible OCD so due to some pains I was having they referred me to the early pregnancy unit where I had a scan last Wednesday and they said everything was in the right place and saw a heart beat.

My first midwife app is 6th December and then I'll await my dating scan.

Is it work having a scan in between for reassurance?

Ive had to tell work due to what I do, but they seem happy for me.

Xx

Hi everyone - sorry haven't posted on this new thread yet... have been feeling too poorly to catch up on it all but having a better day today!
@feliznavidad2 Poor you - hope it improves... I have had the exact opposite to you unfortunately... overnight Saturday and into Sunday I had the worst diarrhoea of my life (sorry for over share!) - has anyone else had this at all? Reallllly hoping it was a one off and not going to be a regular occurrence!

Capricorn8990 · 22/11/2021 11:30

@123catherine yep I've been suffering with that and going to the toilet 3 times a day. Think I'm dehydrated. Had terrible nausea all day which gets worse at night so doctor has prescribe me anti sickness meds.

Hope your symptoms improve xx

Cruz86 · 22/11/2021 11:44

I go through cycles of diarrhoea and then constipation. It's driving me mad!

camvt · 22/11/2021 11:48

Hi all, glad to have found the new thread! I was wondering why the other one had gone so quiet haha. I had to get away from it all last week, I was getting myself into an anxiety black hole overanalysing everything so decided to take a step back. Feeling much better and thankfully starting to feel more confident now :) I had another scan on Friday and they updated the due date which is now July 4th - exactly the same due date my daughter would have been this year!! 🤯

@Bea14 I'm not currently taking aspirin but it was recommended for me to start taking it from 10 weeks as I had a stillborn baby earlier this year. I'm waiting to speak to my OB about the pros and cons and I can let you know what he says, but not sure about how useful it would be for you.

@feliznavidad2 I had terrible constipation my last pregnancy towards the end of the first trimester. The only thing that worked for me was having 2-3 prunes and a big glass of warm lemon water first thing in the morning.

123catherine · 22/11/2021 11:48

@Capricorn8990 oh bless you that sounds relentless - really hope it improves for you! And @Cruz86 sorry to hear you are suffering too - again hope yours improves but also reassuring to hear I'm not the only one!

AppleTree16 · 22/11/2021 14:19

Loads of updates here: have had to tell work after a spectacular morning sickness fail in the office last week.
Oddly nausea has reduced significantly since then and now just mainly tired and getting bloody nose (anyone else - similar to altitude nose for me).
And called the midwives today after self-referring two weeks ago and not hearing anything. They said they won’t be in touch until at least 10 weeks, which seems a little long. Do they not normally speak to you on the phone before then? Thankfully we can book a private scan early December to reassure etc.

Effram · 22/11/2021 14:29

@HotToddyColdSauvignon The NHS offer a 'combined screening test' at around 12 weeks - this uses the fluid measure on baby's neck; blood test for certain hormones in your blood; then other factors like your age to calculate the statistical probability of a genetic condition such as Downs, Edwards or patau's syndromes, and I think maybe some others too. IF you come out at high risk, I think it is now NHS policy in most if not all areas that they will do the NIPT for you, which takes a blood sample from you and looks at the baby's DNA which can be found in your blood to identify markers of those conditions (which is why it can also detect sex, although NHS wouldn't offer that). So the NIPT is much much more accurate as it is a test rather than a screen for a probability. So it's up to you - obviously it is expensive, so you might be happy with the NHS offering and having NIPT only if their stats come out high, but it can be reassuring to have that test regardless to 'know'. hope that makes sense!

Hello to all,

Glad i found out about this site because some of the posts i have read have put my mind t rest (a bit) I found out i am pregnant last friday and i am about 5weeks +2 days. Last week i have felt constipated (apart from the fact that my period was late) but actually i have noticed that i am pregnant from my basal temperature since it stayed high. Anyways i’m due to 23rf July, but where i live.. in Malta, our first appointments are done on week 7 or 8 and today i have booked my first one.

On friday saturday and yesterday i have felt some cramps (similar to the period ones) and since Friday I have burped soo much (sorry) and today had diarrhea and I am so worried sick. Also had lower back pain hopefully nothing serious. But read that it is normal. Not sure .. my mind cant stop thinking!

I only told my partner and parents for now and if eberything will be ok we will be telling his parents. I will tell my employer in January!

HotToddyColdSauvignon · 22/11/2021 15:49

Thanks @Effram that’s really helpful

crazyhairbear · 22/11/2021 16:05

I also had diarrhoea last week followed by really bad constipation and loads of painful trapped wind....today I had a massive normal poo (tmi sorry Grin) and it felt so good!

DayToNight · 22/11/2021 17:10

Hello, joining the thread. I’m due mid July, currently 6 weeks. This is my second, DS is 3.5 years old. Last time I had no symptoms and I’m hoping this time will be the same. Joining the constipation crew too,

kelsn96 · 22/11/2021 17:11

So today I have this Insatiable hunger! if I go longer than two hours without eating, I literally feel as though I want to vomit. I then get the urge to and just retch! But then I feel too sick to eat so have to force food down! Is anyone else experiencing this? I'm 7 weeks tomorrow!

lara9185 · 22/11/2021 17:26

I had constipation last week and thought my periodis coming, but todaytitally different! I think im going crazy searching all the symptoms. Good luck to you all ladies.. looking forward to all our July babies. (I still cant believe saying this)
