@HopefulBeth that's exactly my thoughts too 😬 May have to buy a few & return them.

Pheebs2021 · 27/12/2021 22:12

Hello everybody - due July 2022. I have my dating scan next week but am expecting early July.
Just wondering, if anybody at 11 weeks is still having niggly pains? Certainly not painful but are there.

emmatake2 · 28/12/2021 08:38

@SamanthaVimes you could try Latched UK or Natal active for sports leggings with a pocket. They are a bit more expensive but do last

nadgersbadgers · 28/12/2021 09:32

@Pheebs2021 hey yes me! I'm quite bloated and uncomfortable so not sure what it is. Are you well otherwise?

Lianna93 · 28/12/2021 10:11

@Pheebs2021 I'm still getting pains in my abdomen/pelvis area & I'm 13 weeks - googled it as wasn't sure if I should still be experiencing this but apparently it's very normal & is called round ligament pain which is more common in the 2nd trimester - hope that helps? 😊

MittensForKittens123 · 28/12/2021 10:16

On a similar vein to the sports leggings, does anyone know of maternity cycle leggings (with a padded bum) - I cycle commute to work, and it would be nice to be comfortable!

Pheebs2021 · 28/12/2021 10:24

@nadgersbadgers I am feeling quite well I think my problem is I'm paranoid! I am not bleeding or anything which I'm taking as a good sign.

@Lianna93 thank you :-) there's so much to this pregnancy lark that truly isn't well known enough. I'm quite happy to admit I always thought pregnancy was just painful at maybe 30 weeks plus. Design floor or what.

nadgersbadgers · 28/12/2021 10:33

Seems like my Christmas binge hasn't been good and ive put on a few lbs. I'm going to be absolutely huge.

My other half said last night that he's noticed ive got a bit of a tummy - he thinks innocently it's a baby bump I know it's just fat. Now feeling terrible about my body.

Lianna93 · 28/12/2021 11:04

@Pheebs2021 I was exactly the same with my thinking.
Tv shows make it look lovely 😂
girl feels sick, maybe is sick - takes a pregnancy test, positive! Feels fine. Suddenly has a bump. Scream in labour. Bam. Baby 😂
Unrealistic expectations 😂

But even my friends have all been like 'after the first trimester, it'll get better and will be all worth' Well, here I am. Second trimester and possibly feeling worse than ever 😬😂

I know I shouldn't wish away my pregnancy & should be enjoying this but I'm definitely not enjoying it & the sooner July comes around, the better. Just want it to be over with & to have my wee baba

Capricorn8990 · 28/12/2021 11:41

@nadgersbadgers I'm sorry you're feeling like this 😞. Just remember your body is amazing and is accommodating for baby to be comfortable inside. My partner has said he noticed I have a bit of a tummy but it's just fatty areas too. Pregnancy can be so tough on us. Just think that when your baby is born you'll be able to eventually get to your goal weight/ size xx

nadgersbadgers · 28/12/2021 14:57

@Capricorn8990 this is baby number 5.... I was skinny / normal again between 3 & 4 but haven't managed to get back to my normal weight since having the last one. I was 1.5 stone over where I wanted to be when I got pg this time.

Pheebs2021 · 28/12/2021 14:58

@Lianna93 the romantic image of pregnancy in films always neglect to mention the gory bits. Only gross thing is something like a gerkin dipped in Nutella. I would be more than happy to fast forward to just after the birth bit (so long as I get first cuddles!).

Capricorn8990 · 28/12/2021 16:03

@nadgersbadgers oh wow amazing! Can I ask the age differences in your little ones? Do you think this will be your last pregnancy? X

nadgersbadgers · 28/12/2021 16:25

Eldest is 15 youngest is 2... and yes I think so. My partner is going for the snip.

Hope3821 · 28/12/2021 23:04

Hi,
I'm so happy I've joined this thread, thanks to those who replied about my bmi & homebirth questions. 11 weeks tomorrow & defo feeling the Christmas podge & trying to squint in the mirror to see if it's a pregnant belly, nope just Christmas indulgence lol! Getting stretchy pains in my lower abdomin if I stand up too fast, just need to be careful. 2 weeks until my booking scan, nausea & tiredness seems to have really tapered off. Since my mc last Jan I'm really eager to get the scan & see/hear the heartbeat, the wait is so long.

SamanthaVimes · 29/12/2021 08:31

@Lianna93 sorry to break it to you but last time I didn’t get any second trimester respite, found the entire 40 weeks absolutely horrendous. Genuinely hated every second (even called dd “the parasite” because I felt so awful) Blush

But here I am doing it all again because it’s so so worth it. DD is the absolute light of my life.

You don’t have to enjoy the pregnancy to have a great baby so don’t put pressure on yourself to!

nadgersbadgers · 29/12/2021 09:43

Morning all. There's some nice mat clothes in the ASOS sale 🤩

Elsols93 · 29/12/2021 13:02

Iv finally stopped feeling nauseous & sick woooo 14 wks 1 👏 hope I haven’t just jinxed myself xx

Just done a lateral flow as my sister who I saw on Sunday has had a positive one and it’s come up positive straight away. I have no symptoms and feel fine, but I’m worried about the baby. I am double vaccinated, and waiting for my booster vaccination, but is it just the high fever that can be dangerous when pregnant? Should I contact the midwife or doctor to tell them? Panicking a little. I’m 11 weeks today.

Capricorn8990 · 29/12/2021 17:04

@Elsols93 fab news! It's amazing when you feel slightly more normal isn't it.

@JNGO21 ahhh lovey scan photo there. We're also due date twins!

@Coco9910 I would contact your midwife and explain you've tested positive as sometimes they like to check your blood oxygen levels. I bought an oximeter on Amazon (goes on your finger) and tracks your blood oxygen. I called my midwife as my partner has covid and they told me to let them know if I got it but it's honestly not a huge worry. It's better to get it in first/ second trimester than third but I know it's still worrying as I've been isolating from my partner. Do regular temperature checks. Lots of love x

Capricorn8990 · 29/12/2021 17:05

@JNGO21 I am rubbish with the nub theory so can't comment!! X

Lianna93 · 29/12/2021 17:48

@SamanthaVimes So glad I'm not the only one who's disliking pregnancy 😂 Praying the symptoms don't go on any longer 🤞🏻

Lianna93 · 29/12/2021 17:52

Had my scan today!
Measuring at 13w1 so due July 5th but I already knew that from my early scan.
Got looooads of pictures but the cheeky baba was upside down and when the sonographer wiggled my belly to get them to move, baba had a wee kick and showed us their face then moved back to being upside down 😂 Stubborn & grumpy like me! 🥰

Mentioned the nub & was convinced boy but sonographer said that going by nub theory, it's likely a girl 🥰

Capricorn8990 · 29/12/2021 18:02

@Lianna93 lovely scan photo! I love how we're all having our scans ❤️

I didn't think to ask the sonographer about the nub!! X
