@laurenGame that midwife sounds a bit of a dick.. I measured at 12+1 & before thought i was 12 weeks the day after!

It didn't hurt whilst she was scanning but the nezr say i was a little tender.

Consultant today asked if i wanted anti-sickness meds but my previous use of them (after ops) has put me right off! So unless I'm unable to function I'll stick to my water & crackers.

Well fuck me... When in the very packed pharmacy to collect my prescription I made the mistake of saying yes to the excemption part ... they said which so I said, here let me show you - and pointed to the valid maternity one

The bloody pharmacist then said "a VALID MATERNITY excemption"

..... I haven't told any one yet. Now the whole que behind me know, as I turn to leave my next door neighbour gives me a wink, as does the bloke that's a barman in my local pub.

Fuck. Sake. Why bother trying to be discreet.

@Trinxsy

Christmas is cancelled here! MIL has covid so a nice calm one here. I hope you ladies all have a lovely Christmas (if you celebrate) x
Same here. We had to cancel all travel plans due to my bleeding so just me and DH at home alone today. I bought a massive puzzle so will have a really chilled day hoping I can eat DH's cooking. Hope you're not too disappointed and manage to have a lovely day and next year it'll be a completely different experience Smile
laurenGame · 24/12/2021 22:03

@nadgersbadgers argh how annoying for you! Mine is not as bad but when I had pregnancy constipation the pharmacy assistant was really loud repeating it and brought another member of staff to help so she explained to him my constipation and the whole pharmacy could hear.
There was a handsome man right next to me which was cringeworthy. I know I'm up the duff and married off, but still - can't pharmacists be more discreet ?🙈

dreamingofstars · 24/12/2021 22:16

Hello, sad to say im out, last Friday I had some bleeding and then had scan on the EPU, and was told I had had a missed miscarriage. I was 4 days off my 12 week scan. Sending lots of love to you all and wish you all the best with the rest of your pregnancies. I feel so blessed as I have a 2.8 yr old Dd and she’s keeping me positive. Have a restful Christmas.

nadgersbadgers · 24/12/2021 22:24

Sending massive squeezes @dreamingofstars xxx

Capricorn8990 · 24/12/2021 22:32

Thinking of you @dreamingofstars ❤️ x

laurenGame · 25/12/2021 00:17

Oh I am so so sorry to hear that @dreamingofstars 💗 sending you lots of love and strength xxx

JJ1992 · 25/12/2021 07:00

@crazyhairbear

Okay this is going to sound really weird but when I eat almost everything (except ice-cream) tastes like soil. It tastes like I've just picked it up from the ground! It's also making me feel nauseous. Is anyone else experiencing anything like this or am I just a bit strange lol
This sounds like anaemia! Or bad thrush, you should chat to your midwife about it xx
JJ1992 · 25/12/2021 08:03

Merry Christmas to all of you ladies 💖hope you all have a nice day surrounded with love and good food (and a nice tipple for some ❤️❤️) xxx

nadgersbadgers · 25/12/2021 12:22

Merry Christmas lovelies 🤩

Capricorn8990 · 25/12/2021 13:13

Wishing you all a very merry Christmas! Sadly my partner has tested positive for covid and we're not allowed to see family. Slightly worried about getting it being 12 weeks pregnant but I've had it in august as did he and I've been single jabbed (second in January hopefully)

Lots of love to you all xx

crazyhairbear · 26/12/2021 00:24

@JJ1992 I will mention it to the midwife next week at my appointment, although I think I've worked it out... it's peppers. We use them in most of our meals and I ate some in a salad on their own and I was like blergh! Then I realised all of the meals I thought tasted funny had peppers in them. Haven't had any since and everything tasted wonderful lol

HotToddyColdSauvignon · 26/12/2021 04:41

Anyone else been thinking all day - wow, this time next year there’s going to be a little extra addition at the table?

Misty84 · 26/12/2021 07:50

Absolutely @HotToddyColdSauvignon! Pretty much all day I was thinking that, can’t believe how much my life will change 🤗

AppleTree16 · 26/12/2021 08:03

@Capricorn8990
I’ve just recovered from covid at 11 weeks (released on the 23rd thank goodness). I was very ill (I was the first time I caught it in March 20 and I’m double vaccinated). Tell your midwife - mine got the local hospital pregnancy unit to check up on me every few days as you are at a higher risk of blood clots with the pregnancy and covid.
Take it really easy if you start getting symptoms and drink lots of water / have some paracetamol. Fingers crossed you don’t get it / bad symptoms!

missv556 · 26/12/2021 08:39

@HotToddyColdSauvignon yep I thought about it a bit yesterday. I was snuggled up to my fiance in bed in the morning and it dawned on me it's our last Christmas just us 2 😢

anyone else going to start looking at buying baby things in the sales? I've been too scared to buy anything before now but think I might start getting some small items like clothing to save a few quid lol

Capricorn8990 · 26/12/2021 10:12

@AppleTree16 thank you! I'm glad you're better now. I keep testing daily and will continue to. It's just rubbish 😞 I'll contact my midwife to make her aware my partner has it xx

I don’t have much to buy as it’s my second but I was a similar stage of pregnancy this time two years ago with my first and we got our pram in the January sales, saved over £100!

I’m not superstitious about buying stuff though and wanted to spread the cost a bit.

crazyhairbear · 26/12/2021 11:31

Aldi has a Baby event starting on the 2nd of jan

Mads96 · 26/12/2021 19:01

Hi all, Merry Christmas!

I too want to start shopping as Tommee tippee have 30% off and I want to get a prep machine but I'm paranoid that I'll jinx it 😞

Capricorn8990 · 26/12/2021 19:41

@Mads96 hope you've had a lovely Christmas. How far gone are you? I've been like this. If I see a magpie I get worried as I'm superstitious! I'm 12 weeks 2 days now and told all the people I have wanted to.

It's hard not be superstitious but I would say if you're past a certain date or into the second trimester to go for it ❤️ I'm gonna start buying soon too xx

JNGO21 · 26/12/2021 20:10

Hi everyone, I hope you've all had a decent Christmas.
Its so lovely seeing everyone's scan pictures - makes it feel real!
I'm currently 12+1 and have my 12 week scan on Wednesday. I'm feeling a bit nervous about it... I haven't really had any symptoms for the past 6 weeks - I should count myself lucky really?! Hard not to feel worried.
I did have an early scan at 6 weeks which showed a heartbeat so hopefully everything is just ticking along.

Has anyone else not had many symptoms? Would be nice to hear from you :)

Thanks x

Mads96 · 26/12/2021 20:28

@Capricorn8990 I hope you had a lovely Christmas too! I'm 11+4 weeks. You're right it's so hard not to be superstitious! I have my 12 week scan on the 30th so will probably wait till after that but I'm also thinking 30% off is a lot of money on a prep machine but then my mind starts to worry again!! 🙈

Have you had your 12 week scan?

Capricorn8990 · 26/12/2021 20:39

@Mads96 thank you - unfortunately my partner has tested positive for covid.. I'm trying not to get it as I'm worried about the impact it may have on the pregnancy! It's quite worrying. Oh that's not too long to wait, only 3 days practically. Have you had any early scans yet? How long is the promotion lasting?

I had my scan on Christmas Eve and I was 11+5 but measuring 12 weeks exactly! Here is my scan. Trying to figure out the nub theory but can't do it haha! Xx
