@Lianna93 it'll fly by for you 😘 something to look forward to after Christmas as well!

@Elsols93 what a lovely scan. I think girl too!! Xx

Glittergirl2 · 22/12/2021 13:43

Had my booking appointment today and I haven’t got my scan until the 19th Jan when I’ll be nearly 14 weeks 😭 it seems so far away. I think I’ll have to cave in and book a private scan for next week x

Lianna93 · 22/12/2021 14:23

@Capricorn8990 haha I know - a week feels like forever but the days are just flying in at the moment. Have you had yours yet?

Capricorn8990 · 22/12/2021 14:26

@Glittergirl2 where are you based? Window to the womb are good for private scans! Maybe call up and see if you can have it any earlier? Xx

@Lianna93 I feel like the weeks have whizzed by recently but that may be cos I started a new role and been very busy! Mines on Christmas Eve.. very nervous but also excited xx

Glittergirl2 · 22/12/2021 14:47

@Capricorn8990 were in the midlands, I’m not sure there’s a window to the womb locally but there’s a few meet your miracle. Unfortunately that was the earliest as I have to see the consultant at the same time so I’m limited to going on a Wednesday 🙄 I’ve only got myself to blame for being chubby 😂 x

K2022 · 22/12/2021 22:11

Went for my private scan today expecting to find a wringing lil peanut at 8+5 to be told I have a gestational sac measuring around 8 weeks and a yolk but no baby 😭 I'm so angry at my own body for continuing to grow the sac and give me symptoms. Going to the EPU tomorrow to confirm but I'm not expecting good news .... wish you all lots of sticky baby dust xx

@K2022 so sorry to hear this Flowers just to let you know I’ve reported your post as there’s some identifying info in your screenshot - might be worth reporting to MN yourself too to have it removed and repost with it cropped.

Hope3821 · 22/12/2021 22:49

@k2022 So sorry to hear that, its a really tough situation to navigate through. Sending all our love and hope for your scan tomorrow. I lost my little bambino at 10 weeks in January this year, the wait for all the appointments is so hard, go easy on yourself. ❤️❤️❤️

Hope3821 · 22/12/2021 22:54

Has anyone had a pregnancy with BMI of about 26? I know I'll be classed as overweight and I'm freaking out that they'll be so mean to me and send me down a fully medicalised route, when I really want to explore home birth.

Also, has anyone had their booking appointment over the phone? Is that a safe way of evaluating my pregnancy health? I'm booked in for a separate scan for my 13 weeks in January, then 5 days later a phone appointment. I know its because of Covid but is it best practice?

Lianna93 · 23/12/2021 00:47

@K2022 So sorry to hear this, take care of yourself 💕

@Hope3821 My midwife said 30 as the top range for BMI & I fell one point above that but honestly, BMI is an absolute load of crap.
I'm being called obese but they're not taking into account that I weight lift & all my 'weight' is primarily muscle, not fat, also when she weighed me, I actually weighed less than normal because I couldn't eat at that point.
But because my BMI states I'm obese, I'm being monitored for blood clots & preeclampsia 🙃🙃
Midwife wasn't mean or nasty to me about my weight though, it was just 'there could be a risk, so we'll monitor you' 🤷🏻‍♀️

I had my first appointment with my midwife over the phone & then she brought me in to take my bloods & urine a few weeks after that. Got my dating scan next week then my next midwife appointment is over the phone in January. Then she'll set a date to see me in person to measure my bump growth & take bloods.

Lostintranslatio · 23/12/2021 03:53

Hi ladies!! I had my12 weeks scan on Tuesday and everything is alright. I could see my little girl there, but difficult as my bladder wasn't very full after the urine sample 🥺 I also managed to get my covid booster, so it was a great day 😂

Capricorn8990 · 23/12/2021 08:27

I am really thinking of you K2022 - don't want to tag in case you're avoiding this chat ❤️

Capricorn8990 · 23/12/2021 08:28

@Glittergirl2 I'm sure the days will fly by. This year has gone so fast. I swear the older you get the faster the years go by, it's frightening!! X

Capricorn8990 · 23/12/2021 08:29

@Lostintranslatio so pleased your scan went well! Bet it was such a relief. I have mine tomorrow and I'll be 11 + 5.. it's at 08:20 so do you think I should hold my wee in from the night before and drink lots of water too? Xx

Lostintranslatio · 23/12/2021 09:04

@Capricorn8990 my appointment was at 8am and I did not hold my wee but at 7am I drank a pint of water. The main issue was that I was called to the scan room immediately after I gave my urine sample to the mw, so I had no chance to drink more and fill the bladder again.

Hope3821 · 23/12/2021 09:08

@lianna93 thanks so much that's a great help. Yeh the bmi scoring is total rubbish, I wish they'd find a new way to measure it. It's good to hear you're midwife was nice to you and that you had a few phone appointments. I've already been given an appointment for 17 weeks, but since my mc we're just so tentative about it all, the first trimester is such a long wait!

Suprima · 23/12/2021 09:33

Got my NIPT results back- low risk for everything and she is definitely a little girl. (I did SneakPeek for a bit of fun when I was 9 weeks- but wanted to confirm this)

HotToddyColdSauvignon · 23/12/2021 12:37

Had my scan today - couldn’t believe it when a real actual baby came up on the screen! Both Mr Toddy and myself had a little sniffle
But the little peanut is wriggling and bouncing away, they’ve pushed me forward by 4 days. So relieved - and can now think about Christmas!

missv556 · 23/12/2021 14:03

Is anyone else considered as high risk of developing gestational diabetes? I've just had a letter through for an appointment to get a glucose test when I'd be around 26 weeks

nadgersbadgers · 23/12/2021 15:38

@Hope3821 my BMI is the same and I'm booked so far for a home birth

nadgersbadgers · 23/12/2021 15:38

@missv556 yes me

annie1994 · 23/12/2021 16:05

@Hope3821 I’m pretty sure a BMI of 26 won’t affect anything. My hospital trust is BMI of 35 or above and you’re classed as high risk

UncomfortableBadger · 23/12/2021 16:19

I’ve got to have the GD test too - assumed that it was because of my BMI being a tad too high
nadgersbadgers · 23/12/2021 16:59

I've had a bleed - out of no where bright red when I wipe, just the once. Feel really really crappy and cramps.

Everyone in the house has covid and I doubt much point calling ePAU is there 😞

CaptainCarp · 23/12/2021 22:08

@missv556 I've got to go for a glucose test as well. They didn't mention it was because of my weight but maybe it is then!

@Hope3821 i wouldn't worry at BMI 26... My BMI is 35 & im just fat.. No fitness extremes here!
I've got to see the consultant tomorrow so I'll see what they tell me off about.
