I see girl too 🥰 what a nice scan pic.. Thats a propper baby in there! 😁😁
Nicola1201 · 06/12/2021 20:48

My scan is 22.12 but currently ive got norovirus bug off my little one from nursery. Havent kept water down since 3am last night, but midwife didnt really recommend anything. Im concerned it may cause issues for bubs but I'll have to wait i guess.

Evening all
I’ve been lurking for a few weeks but following a private scan, I feel allowed to post here Smile The consultant confirmed that my dates tally with the scan measurements so all being well, I’m due on 06/07/22 with our first. Joy and anxiety in equal measure!

I’ve been struggling badly with vomiting since week 4 - I’m being sick several times each day and there’s no let up in sight as yet. I work a really full on, client-facing job so I’m finding it hard to juggle work and being so unwell. Ginger, snacks/crackers/biscuits, pressurepoint bands etc do naff all and even the £120 ReliefBand from Amazon was as good as useless. I know that nausea and vomiting is supposed to be a good, positive sign but it’s so frustrating to feel so useless. Any suggestions much appreciated.

Congratulations! I've definitely not had sickness as bad as you so my advice may not be helpful but I try to make sure i eat when I get up even if its just something light, even if feeling queezy, and have found sucking on a boiled sweet when nauseaus at work helps it to pass! I stick it in my mouth under my mask and keep it in my cheeks. Probably terrible for teeth but only do it in emergencies!

@kelsn96

Hi all!

Last Wednesday I was spotting a little, more like a brown discharge (sorry, tmi). Today I went for a scan and prepared for the worse and saw a little bean measuring 8w 2d with a strong heartbeat!!

On my ultrasound they found a bleed separate from the pouch of Douglass and gestational sac measuring around 24mm x 10mm and they were not concerned. Said this is where the spotting came from and if I were to bleed again not to worry. Has anyone experienced this before?

I have also had bleeding but in my case absolutely no indication where the blood came from :( they said maybe it's placenta or cervix? But can't tell so that's very annoying. I'm glad they can see location of your bleed and that's it's no concern; if my bleed is from placenta then it's not good at all. But no way of knowing for me. So think take it as a real positive for your situation Smile
@laurenGame I have referred myself to able futures which I was told about. It's for working people who need extra support. Going to talk to them tonight at 8! Maybe you can refer yourself? How're you feeling today? Xx
That's good to hear. I've been ok I sort of found peace in what will happen with this pregnancy. I was beside myself for over a month and then recently just felt if it's not meant to be then it's just not meant to be for this world , and I'll try again.
I still don't know if this pregnancy will be successful but I'm over the shock now. Will look up able futures now xx
How have you been going?

AppleTree16 · 07/12/2021 09:57

What level of nausea is “normal”? I’ve only been sick a few times but I feel awful pretty much from when I wake up to about 6pm in the evening. Yesterday was particularly bad 😢. Eating helps a little. Have tried ginger / fresh air etc. Do I just ride it out? I am not being very productive at all at work. Just sat doing the bare minimum.

DrPrincessFluffyToYou · 07/12/2021 11:22

@Nicola1201 I also had norovirus early in this pregnancy (ended up in A&E needing fluids because I had really high ketones from the level of vomiting!!) but doesn’t seem to have affected the baby. I have yet to have my first scan, so obviously can’t be sure it hasn’t, but have had no bleeding / still have strong pregnancy symptoms around a month later!

I decided to go for the maternitT21 test rather than harmony, just because it seems to be the one that tests for the most microdeletions which for some reason I’ve become anxious about… will have that on December 20th so hopefully will be able to announce pregnancy at Christmas if all is well!

I’ve had my booking in appointment, and have first NHS scan booked for Jan 4th when I’ll be 12 weeks Smile

Nicola1201 · 07/12/2021 11:45

Thanks @DrPrincessFluffyToYou. Im hoping theres been no impact. Im having harmony on friday, mainly cos thats the one i had with my first.
So I'll have a scan and see where we are at then. I haven't had any signs that it may have gone wrong post virus but it's always there back of mind.

DrPrincessFluffyToYou · 07/12/2021 11:47

@Nicola1201 good luck with your scan! I also did some research at the time and there’s no evidence that norovirus can cross the placenta, which reassured me.

Hi all,

Just wanted to come on and say I've joined the July club. Had an 8 week private scan and found out we are expecting TWINS! Absolutely terrified as we already have a 14 month old daughter but let the crazy times commence.

Very excited! We are due 15th of July :)

SamanthaVimes · 07/12/2021 12:02

@Lucindaj twins?! Oh wow, how exciting! Congratulations

Coco9910 · 07/12/2021 12:07

@Lucindaj wow congratulations!! Amazing news!

K2022 · 07/12/2021 12:09

@Lucinda19 congratulations 🎊 x

Lucindaj · 07/12/2021 12:11

Thank you! Still trying to get my head around 3 under 2...

My booking appointment is Friday so hopefully have a 12 week scan date soon.

Effram · 07/12/2021 12:15

oh my word @Lucindaj huge congrats... 3 under 2, bring it on!

I had my harmony scan this morning and it was SO amazing to see the baby looking properly like a baby, kicking and wriggling around. Was lovely to have my husband there too, he wasn't able to come to any scan for my 2nd as it was lockdown.

All looking perfect at the mo,although obv blood tests results in a week. They brought EDD to 1/7/21. I keep just going back to look at all the pics!

Twins?!? Has the news sunk in yet? Congratulations!
Trinxsy · 07/12/2021 12:25

Hi all! From thread one....twins here too. We got an extra surprise at our private scan on Sunday! Still shocked.

Trinxsy · 07/12/2021 12:27

Very scared!!

Due July 2022 (thread 2)
Lucindaj · 07/12/2021 12:32

@Trinxsy

Very scared!!
Me too! haha.

It's not sunk in at all. My husband is so excited, which I am too but equally terrified.

Capricorn8990 · 07/12/2021 13:32

@Lucindaj @Trinxsy ahhh wow congrats to you both!!

Hope3821 · 07/12/2021 13:43

Wow congratulations @lucindaj @trinxsy!
So nice to join thread and see I'm not the only one dealing with nausea. I'm 7+4 and the nausea is relentless, day and night. I can't tell what I'll be able to stomach until its in front of me, hubby keeps eating up my leftovers lol.
We have an early reassurance scan on Friday as I had mc in January. Send us lots of luck, and also tips for nausea lol! I'm very lucky I'm not working, I have no idea how you all cope with the sickness when you're working, you're all incredible! Grin

Lianna93 · 07/12/2021 14:23

Amazing news @Lucindaj @Trinxsy !!🥰

I'm now 10w3d & my nausea seems to be getting less now - I've managed to actually eat more than once in a day & I'm starting be a little bit more adventurous with what I'm eating - granted, it's still only carbs in eating 😂 Hoping this is it from here on out 🤞🏻🤞🏻

annie1994 · 07/12/2021 16:38

@Nicola1201 I caught a stomach bug from. Patient when I was pregnant with my first child (think I was around 12/13 weeks) and he was absolutely fine. Only thing is if you really can’t keep anything down, mainly water, you may need to go to A&E for IV fluids. I remember having 2 or 3 bad days of vomiting and diarrhoea and then felt better so I never actually went to hospital but called my Gp and he was useless!!

@Lucindaj @Trinxsy wow twins! Congrats, you both have got this!

Nicola1201 · 07/12/2021 16:47

@annie1994 thanks thats helpful. It lasted 24 hours, im on the mend now so hopefully all ok. Our bodies do brilliant things when babies are growing so I'll put my faith in that.
