Also so lovely hearing about everyone's scans! I'm 20+1 and my scan is next Tuesday, (feels like we've been waiting forever!) I'm so excited to see baby again and we will be finding out if we're having a girl or a boy! xx

itssquidstella · 06/01/2022 13:38

@autumn321 I think we'll get a snuzzpod because they're narrower than the Chicco so will fit better on my side of the bed!

Luckygreenduck · 06/01/2022 13:45

I am having lots of pain in the bottom of my belly today. It feels like really painful period cramps.
Trying to get through to the community midwife but cant. I dont know whether to keep trying or whether it is just something like trapped wind. Its so hard to know when to worry as everything feels so new and strange!

Bubbasmama2017 · 06/01/2022 14:14

I've been thinking about next to me cots as well, for downstairs naps once they're out of the Moses basket I think we just used the bassinet bit of the pram.

Turns out my achiness is covid, I'm feeling really sad about it! Tried so hard to keep me and the baby safe and all feels in vain now

hwp22 · 06/01/2022 14:24

@Bubbasmama2017 sorry to hear it’s Covid - look after yourself and rest. It’s so unnerving with all the Covid cases at the moment.
Had my 20 week scan all was great with babies. 🙂

Been wondering about sleeping arrangements and the Chico next to be cot too - not sure how that’s going to work with twins? If they can share one or if I need 2?! Boggles the mind! Xx

aNewYorkerInLondon · 06/01/2022 14:30

@LS2020, how do I request the Mat1b form? I need to give that to HR.

itssquidstella · 06/01/2022 14:56

@hwp22 the Chicco next to me is quite wide so you might fit them both in initially, but it wouldn't last for six months (even singletons sometimes outgrow the bedside cribs before they're 'supposed to', apparently!).

Yellowbelly12 · 06/01/2022 15:32

I’m so jealous of all the shopping you guys are doing for prams, seats, cots etc. we kept everything from our first and so we’ve not really got anything exciting to buy!

@autumn321 we got the tutti bambini cozze crib as our next to me bedside one. It was brilliant and looks nice too! We had a Moses basket downstairs but he never really liked it so it wasn’t really used much.

Yellowbelly12 · 06/01/2022 15:34

@aNewYorkerInLondon your midwife will give it to you. I got mine when I had my 20 week scan and saw the midwife for the whooping cough at the same time. Otherwise your midwife should give it to you at you next appointment, you may need to ask them though!

aNewYorkerInLondon · 06/01/2022 16:05

Thank you @Yellowbelly12!!

fattycatty82 · 06/01/2022 17:34

@Bubbasmama2017 hope you feel ok ASAP, it's so hard to avoid it when everyone seems to be infected!

@Luckygreenduck I've had some similar sounding pains and felt worried but came and went over the last few weeks and midwife said not to worry, but hope you can get through to them soon to ease your mind. So much to worry about

I've got the snuzpod in a wood design because... well I thought it looked nice 😂

I have an online antenatal class later and it's been a pretty full on day at work... sounds bad but I think I'm all babied out! Would be nice to think about/worry about something else for a while!

robyna · 06/01/2022 18:01

@aNewYorkerInLondon I didn't get mine at my 20 week scan as I was a day under 20 weeks when I had it and they can't give it to you until you're exactly 20 weeks or over. I've got another appointment at 25 weeks with my midwife but I need to give it to work before 15 weeks before my due date which is annoying. I may have to text her!

fattycatty82 · 06/01/2022 18:19

@robyna I have the same problem! Refused to give to me at scan now I need it before 25 week appointment in Feb. Seems silly really

autumn321 · 06/01/2022 18:29

Thanks for all your suggestions of next to me cribs! I do like the look of the snuzpod! I think we will see what shops have some to look at (so hard buying some things online!) my local John Lewis I went to today only had the Chicco next to me on display xx

hwp22 · 06/01/2022 19:11

@itssquidstella this is going to get expensive I think!
Need to go and look at them IRL but just haven’t felt like I want to go into the shops recently! X

fejkalove · 06/01/2022 19:40

No purpose to this post but I'm about to be single...feeling like a failure having 2 children with different dads and still on my own Sad this is also technically my decision as can no longer live with DP so being made to feel bad for that.

aNewYorkerInLondon · 06/01/2022 20:28

@fejkalove, you're clearly leaving for a reason. Your children will be better off in your single but loving home than they would in a home where the parents are together but miserable. So will you. Never be ashamed of doing the right thing. You're a good mother.

Thank you, currently in bed having a good cry after being told if I loved him I'd put up with it. Sad It's the 20 week scan tomorrow too, was already feeling anxious but feel so sad now need to find somewhere to live ASAP.

aNewYorkerInLondon · 06/01/2022 22:27

@fejkalove, can you take a friend with you tomorrow instead?

Sarah239 · 06/01/2022 23:18

@autumn321 this is one I heard recommended - Maxi-Cosi Iora Co-Sleeper

@fejkalove oh I'm so sorry. Hope you can find somewhere to live soon. Do you have friends/family who can be there for you? That's not an easy decision to make but be proud of yourself that you made it and hang in there x

Thank you - not really, they're all horrified that I've chosen my happiness and not just made this work. We actually have a family WhatsApp group (with all my family) and he tried to write in it this evening to them all that I'm selfish for walking away from my babies father. Sad

LS2020 · 07/01/2022 07:06

@autumn321 we have Snuzpod that attaches to beds for our bedroom (2nd floor) and a Moses basket for rest of house 😊

@aNewYorkerInLondon I just text my midwife (as she was on day off when I rang) and she called me back next eve to say it was ready to collect at my GP reception. I didn’t get at scan as that’s at hospital and not with my midwife and didn’t want to wait for 25 week appointment to ask.

@fejkalove you don’t make that decision lightly at the minute so you are 100% doing the right thing for you. You will get sorted, try compartmentalise for this morning, you can’t change anything, have a “normal” day and focus on your baby and a scan, can you take someone? Then everything else can be dealt with after x

Jowd92 · 07/01/2022 07:24

Hope everyone is doing well I have my 20 week scan today and I’m so nervous I’ve. Hardly slept all night with worry I always get like this with scans and I think having having not felt anything yet I’m super worried something is wrong fingers crossed all will be okay was anyone else super nervous ?

Honeymint · 07/01/2022 08:59

@Jowd92 Good luck today! I’m sure it’ll go fine Smile I was so worried about mine yesterday but it was all okay afterall. I think it’s normal to worry though, maybe we’d be weird if we didn’t!
Plus I think the issues they find most often are fixable after birth, or at least thinking that helped me calm down a little.

All these co-sleepers are so cute! I’m too nervous to get one that attaches to the bed as I move around so much in the night, I’m worried I’d kick a leg out or something!

Also I don’t know if this is helpful, but Boots still have their big start-of-year sale on. We managed to deal stack and get 300 pampers in various sizes for £15. I felt like it was maybe a bit silly to get them so early but it seemed like such a good deal.

itssquidstella · 07/01/2022 09:12

@Jowd92 good luck! Let us know how you get on :)
